On June 27th, 1987 – The fabulous Mötley Crüe peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart with Girls, Girls, Girls which went on to sell four million (plus) copies in the United States. Outstanding!
On June 27th, 1994 – The super-duper Aerosmith became the huge name band to release a song on the internet as a free download. Head First was the song that was available on CompuServe for one week; unfortunately fans had to endure an hour’s worth (or much more) of download time to hear the song. Those were the days. Head First was an unused song from Aerosmith’s Get A Grip sessions.
On June 27th, 2006 – The KISS Coffeehouse opened for business, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. For this happy grand opening, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley made their appearance. Unfortunately, the KISS Coffeehouse closed in late September of 2013, due to a lack of growth in sales. A clearance sale of all KISS novelty items took place during the closing days of this establishment as well. Goodness gracious.
On June 27th, 2015 – Former Megadeth members, guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover, have recently formed their own Thrash/Speed Metal band: Act Of Defiance. Their forthcoming debut studio album, Birth And The Burial, is ranked at #86, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Jiminy Cricket! This album is scheduled to release on August 21st, 2015.
On June 27th, 2015 – METALACHI, The world’s first and only Heavy Metal Mariachi Band, have their new studio album UNO ranked at #66, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. ¡Ay, caramba!
