CRYSTAL VIPER ARE BACK! New Studio Album “Queen Of The Witches” Releases On February 17, 2017, via AFM Records!

CRYSTAL VIPER are back! The Polish Heavy Metallers are returning after a 4 year absence, which was caused by the health issues relating to the band’s front woman and founder, Marta Gabriel, and which placed the future of CRYSTAL VIPER into question, (last year Marta underwent surgery of her nasal and facial sinuses), “The witch is back” however, sounding stronger, heavier and louder than ever before…!

On February 17, 2017, AFM RECORDS will release CRYSTAL VIPER‘s new concept album entitled “Queen Of The Witches”. The album, which will be available as a limited edition vinyl LP, CD and digital download, has been produced by Bart Gabriel – producer known for his collaboration with acts such as CIRITH UNGOL, MYTHRA and SACRED STEEL (and within their private lives, Marta’s husband), and engineered and mixed by Mariusz Pietka (JACK STARR’S BURNING STARR, LONEWOLF, MORTICIAN). The album’s cover artwork has been created by the legendary German artist, Andreas Marschall (RUNNING WILD, BLIND GUARDIAN, KREATOR). The first single from the new album will be entitled “The Witch Is Back”, and will be available in December. On February 18, 2017, the band will play an exclusive headlining live show in Munich, Germany, at the Heavy Metal Calling Festival, which will be an official release party for the new album.

In other news Marta Gabriel, the band’s singer and guitarist who has once again written all of the songs on the new album, recently joined the ESP GUITARS family. In addition, all of the members of CRYSTAL VIPER have signed an endorsement deal with DEAN MARKLEY.

Swiss Dark Metal Trio XAON Release Lyric Video

Swiss Dark Metal band XAON have released a lyric video for How We Become Ephemeral Birds, a song from forthcoming EP Face of Balaam. Check out the video below:

XAON will release its debut EP Face of Balaam on October 16, 2016. The official video for first single Discrowned, featuring vocals by SOILWORK‘s Björn “Speed” Strid, can be viewed at this location or below:

Brilliant melodies combine with the aggression of Death Metal throughout Face of Balaam, yet that description doesn’t quite do justice to the range of styles influencing the sound of XAON. Consider the contributions of legendary acts like ANATHEMA, TYPE O NEGATIVE, MY DYING BRIDE, SOILWORK, DEMONICAL, ULVER, and even Finnish act DISGRACE’s early to mid 90s output and you’ll get the picture.

Face of Balaam was produced and arranged by band members Vinc and Flo, recorded between June and August 2015, mixed and mastered by Julian at Parallel Focus Studios. Vocals engineered by Rob Carson at Carsonian Sound Solutions. All vocals, except “Discrowned,” were performed by Franco-American singer Rob Carson. Samples on “How we become Ephemeral Birds” and “Discrowned” by J.-P. Lana. The album artwork was  created by Californian artist and painter Erik Burton Kirchner.

SHADECROWN – To Release Debut Album In October!

A Finnish melancholic Melodic Death Metal band, Shadecrown have set a release date for their debut album. The album is called Agonia and it is set for release on October 21st, 2016, via Inverse Records.

Shadecrown was founded in 2012 by songwriter/keyboardist Saku Tammelin and they have previously released one demo and EP. The band’s music consists of many different elements and it’s influenced by many Metal genres, such as thrash and Melodic Doom Metal. In other words Shadecrown’s music combines beautiful melancholic melodies and aggressive guitar riffs.

FLAYED – French Heavy Rockers Reveal “XI Million” EP Details

Kaotoxin is proud to announce the first step of its collaboration with Hard Rockin’ machine FLAYED with the release of the band’s new EP “XI Million” due out November 4th worldwide.

Keeping up the tradition of their last two releases, “Symphony for the Flayed” from 2014 and “Monster Man” from 2015, “XI Million” has been recorded in the good old way, on analog tapes at Cartellier studio and later mixed and mastered at Vamacara studio (OTARGOS, AZZIARD, ANTROPOFAGO…) and showcases the band’s mastery of the Rock’n’Roll magic and  groovy formula, yet playing it not only with guts but also bringing something fresh to the table mixing influences like AC/DC, BLACK SABBATH or DEEP PURPLE for a very personal vision of the genre.

Featuring four brand new originals and a cover version of CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL, “XI Million” will also mark the first time a FLAYED release will ever be available on the highly-praised vinyl support.

Singer Renato Di Folco comments:
 “The EP, made of two previously unreleased tracks from the “Monster Man” sessions, a cover version and two brand new tracks, is meant to be a sort of link between our two previous albums and the next one but it’s also a link between FLAYED‘s modern approach of Hard Rock and the path paved by its glorious ancestors with this “traditional” kind of artwork and the analog recording. It’s not just a filler release to fit our yearly schedule. It’s really something of its very own, created for its very own purpose and a piece of art on its very own too.”

The EP will be a collector edition with no future reprint coming as either a 500 hand-numbered copies limited edition Deluxe DigiSleeve CD or a 300 hand-numbered copies limited edition 12″ MLP+CD and, of course, digital. Preorders will be available at the Kaotoxin Shop on September 26th.

Two first extracts of the forthcoming EP can be found below as soundtracks of 360° videos produced by TAKE A SIP, a French communication agency specializing in the wine business, as part of their marketing campaign for the HELLFEST Open Air “Kingdom of Muscadet” wine bar.

BAND BIO:
Sweden’s DECOMPOSED grew into a band in 2010, shortly after being conceived as a pure one-man Death Metal project. A year later the Stench of Death demo was recorded, which led to the self-titled debut album the following year. Two years thereafter the follow-up, entitled Devouring was released, a much more mature creation focused on darkness, horror and madness.

After a few live performances and quite a few internal struggles, DECOMPOSED had to cease to exist as a live band. All members left, and only composer/founder Jesper Ekstål remained. The work on the third chapter Wither was well under way during this period, and it continued during obstacles of every kind.

Polish Death Metal Band BANISHER Reveal New Lyric Video

Critically acclaimed Polish Death Metal band BANISHER have revealed a lyric video for “The Iconoclast” a new track from their forthcoming album Oniric Delusions. The track is a four and a half-minute rager of old-school Death Metal.

Starting with their Sorrow of Death demo back from 2005 , Banisher was originally founded in Rzeszów, Poland by Hubert Więcek and Michał Such. With every release, the band have set abundantly clear markers of progression and maturity to reach the present Extreme Death Metal powerhouse they’ve become.

Including members from such bands as Decapitated, Redemptor, Darzamat, Nuclear Vomit, Shodan and Ketha, the new opus was recorded by Więcek (guitars, bass), Szczepan Inglot (vox), and Jacek Gut (drums). Michał Bartosik was added as their new permanent bassist at the very start of 2016. Since their previous release (‘Scarcity’), the band has seen a significantly marked growth both in style and production and especially the dexterity of guitarist Więcek. It should be noted that Więcek has the honor of being endorsed by Ibanez Guitars since 2014 as well.

The band has already extensively toured the greater part of Europe and appeared at several festivals such as Inferno Metal Festival, Eastern Deathfest, Flesh Party Open Air, Cieszanów Rock Festival, and Metal Head’s Mission among others; they have also headlined Metal Blast in Cairo, Egypt. No doubt they will be looking to unleash their new material to all on tour soon well into 2016.

Coming in at just over 30 mins. ‘Oneiric Delusions’ was recorded, mixed and mastered at Invent-Sound Studio in Bydgoszcz, Poland by Szymon Grodzki. The album will be released on CD complemented with a comprehensive 16 page booklet and a lacquered sticker of the album cover artwork of the album supplied by Pete “Astmol” Zając.

(Los Angeles, CA – August 3, 2016) After years of intense speculation and recent rumors, it can now be confirmed that DOKKEN will indeed reform its classic lineup for 6 shows ONLY! Don Dokken, George Lynch, Jeff Pilson and “Wild” Mick Brown will return to the stage together, in Japan – for the first time in 21 years. Dubbed “Unleashed in the East,” leader Don Dokken explains why now. “I am very excited to come back to Japan and play with the members of Dokken that I spent so much time with. Being that its only 6 shows, we are going to make it as spectacular as possible”

After launching on October 5 in Osaka, Japan, the quartet will then head to Fukuoka, Tokyo (for the Loud Park Festival) before continuing on to Hiroshima, Aichi and finally, back to Tokyo for the final show on October 12th. Dokken’s Tooth and Nail, released in 1984, contained several hit songs including “Alone Again”, “Just Got Lucky” and “Into the Fire” and sold over three million copies worldwide and the band continued releasing many more records with the same success.

Tickets for this once in a lifetime event, as well as VIP package experiences, will be on sale beginning August 27th. This will be the one and only opportunity for fans to see the original line-up play their iconic hits.

Guitarist Matt Price of Los Angeles Stoner/Doom Metal band BEHOLD! THE MONOLITH has been tapped by ARMORED SAINT to fill in for guitarist Phil Sandoval on three German Festival dates this week. ARMORED SAINT released the following statement on its Facebook page about the temporary replacement:

“We’re sorry to report that our own Phil Sandoval will not be joining us on our European tour next week. He has chosen to stay home and be with his girlfriend while they expect their first child together which is due during this time. We have enlisted the help of guitarist Matt Price from Behold! The Monolith to step up and fill in for Phil for these 3 festivals in Germany. Phil will miss seeing all of you this time but he promises to ‘Deliver’ once he returns for the dates we have booked in the fall. Please help us wish Phil and his girlfriend a positive and safe delivery. Thank you!”
