South West UK Metal juggernaut Engraved Disillusion have today revealed details for their second album and follow-up to 2011’s acclaimed ‘Embers Of Existence’.
Entitled ‘The Eternal Rest’, the album was recorded at Thin Ice Studios with Karl Groom (Dragonforce, Threshold…) during the summer of 2014 and features 10 tracks of epic, diverse and at times unrelenting Metal. The addition of new vocalist Matthew William Mead and bassist Aaron Preston has allowed the band to diversify and bring new elements to their sound, namely the inclusion of clean vocals.
Guitarist Toby Stewart comments, “When we started writing the album we made sure to write exactly what we wanted to do even if it took us in some different directions to our other releases. We felt a bit tired of bands having to make the music people expect them to when they’re capable of a lot more. The initial word that we had in our heads when writing (the) album was ‘epic’. We wanted a huge melodic sound. We feel the songwriting has gone up another level and we’ve achieved exactly what we wanted to on this album.”
Artwork was completed by Colin Marks at Rain Song Design (Strapping Young Lad, Saille, Exodus, Scar Symmetry…) and can be seen below:

Formed in 2006 after a drinking competition, UK extreme metallers Aghast! have finally scheduled the release of their debut album. *Applause*
Entitled ‘All The Rage’, the album will see the light of day on 1st October 2014 and in their own words expect “Fast. Heavy. Catchy.”
Since their formation, Aghast! have recorded a number of EP’s and have gained a reputation for delivering the goods every time. Their most recent record ‘Live Dangerously’ seen media attention soar with Thrash Hits commenting on the EP as, “…three tracks of straight-up speed, for those of you who like stuff where guitars shred faster than a Betterware onion slicer and the sound of drummers feet snapping away from their ankles”, while Metal Hammer said, “Blasting fury? Check. Venomous brutality designed to tear flesh from bone? Check. Sadistically evil in a way that’s worrying? Check. Really fucking good? Hell yes.”
Why the long wait for a debut you say? Well… “We have spent years experimenting and honing our sound” commented the band. “But you only get one opportunity to release your debut album and ‘All The Rage’ is a statement of intent. It exemplifies every aspect of the Aghast! sound and our attitude to making heavy music. We wanted it to be brutally heavy with a recognisable groove and packed with hooks that people can grab on to. Heavy metal should be entertaining and fun to listen to and that’s what we feel we have achieved with this record. It is a thrill ride from start to finish and we hope that everyone can get on board with us!”
‘All The Rage’ artwork was completed by comic book artist Zak Simmonds-Hurn.

The band will also be taking the album on the road and touring throughout England later this month and into October.
British heavy metallers Kaine have just signed a special record agreement with newly founded Static Tension Recordings. The record deal gives Static Tension exclusive rights to market and sell Kaine’s album, The Waystone, in the United States over the next two years. Kaine is excited to be working with Static Tension on the upcoming US release which is scheduled for October 14th, 2014.
The band’s guitarist/vocalist, Rage Sadler, comments: “I am very pleased we have come to an agreement with Static Tension. This is the perfect deal for us as this gives them exclusive rights to sell and market the band in America while we receive a fair share of the income from record sales. The deal also enables us to continue selling our own CDs and allows us to retain all of our own digital and merch income. The majority of European labels are only interested in ripping bands off and we really couldn’t do this sort of deal with the labels that approached us. This definitely isn’t the case with Static Tension who are firmly in the 21st Century and moving with the times as we are.”
Kyle Stevens of Static Tension, who has 26 years’ experience in the music industry, having worked for the likes of Universal Music Group, stated: “I am extremely pleased to have Kaine as my first signing to Static Tension Recordings. They’re continued hard work, business savvy, and most importantly, their song writing skills are a breath of fresh air in today’s stagnant talent pool. Proving that Traditional Heavy Metal is alive and well will make the forefathers from the New Wave of Heavy Metal proud.”
Kaine have previously released a statement regarding their DIY route of releasing albums. Read it here.

Kreyskull is a ”Heavy Rock`n Doom” band from the south-east parts of Finland; they blend their riff-heavy doom grooviness with influences from the classic era 70´s Heavy Metal and Prog Rock, even flirting with occasional jazz and psychedelia. With a strong vocal performance, screaming lead guitars and a bombastic rhythm section, they create their own unique style of Heavy Rock.
The sophomore album “Tower Witch” will be released October 3rd by Inverse Records.
Featuring ex-members from Demonic Death Judge, Kaihoro and Total Devastation.
MASSACRE – Fans of this legendary Florida Death Metal band have a mega-ton to rejoice about in 2014; the return of MASSACRE was solidified by not only their return to the live stage in recent time, they’ve released a new album as well! Via Century Media Records; Back From Beyond was released on April 1st, 2014.
As an import, I bought the limited/deluxe edition of Back From Beyond and it set me back $25.00 (U.S.). I’ll readily admit, this reformed lineup of MASSACREcrushes convincingly, just as the original From Beyond (album) lineup; going back to 1991; there’s no question in my Metal mind! With original members Terry Butler on bass and Rick ‘Rozz’ DeLillo on guitar forming the nucleus, new members Ed Webb on vocals and Mike Mazzonetto on drums solidify this historic Metal reunion.
I absolutely cannot get enough of the animated official video for the title track! Old School RULES. There’s nothing more fun than watching a bunch of flesh-eating monsters and zombies, ripping and tearing apart a music club! Metal be thy name!
Enjoy And Get Your Senses Smashed To The Back From Beyond (Official Video) Below! Whoa!
MASSACRE pays homage to iconic Death Metal pioneers, DEATH, covering both Corpsegrinder and Mutilation Death. Both of these titanic songs are heard on the limited/deluxe version of this album. This new MASSACRE album has made me very psyched; add the two DEATH cover songs and I’m overwhelmed with Metal joy!
The overall blazing sounds and riffage that guitarist Rick ‘Rozz’ DeLillo plays are simply badass! It’s all about the speed, grooves, fiery rhythm, mesmerizing drumming and guttural vocals that all come together with alarming perfection, on Back From Beyond. Yes, there is Death Metal and then there is… Death F’n Metal! That’s what you’ll get here, my fellow Death Metalaholics. Metal Be Thy Name. – Stone

We started this band/ministry back in 1983 and our goal was to shine a bright light on a dark music world. We’ve had our share of trials and tribulations, ups and downs but miraculously (and by Gods grace), we’ve survived against many odds and are still shining that bright light where ever we can and however we can. Our faith has been questioned many times because of our unorthodox presentation but let us be “Loud N” Clear” – we are as determined, passionate and serious about our message and faith as ever before. We’re four guys writing, recording, performing and doing whatever we can do to get the word out but the reality is we need you to take it to new levels and reach even more people. Can we surpass what was accomplished three decades ago? Absolutely! Help us get the music and the message out to the masses. Share the pages, share the videos, share the music – preorder the new live album and order one for a friend, an old fan, a new fan, family, a neighbor, a co-worker, an employee or whoever else you can think of! This is a crucial time to spread God’s love through the power of music and we can’t do it without you. Thank you for 30+ years of support, God Bless ~ Stryper
OHHMS will flower into life with their sprawling, crushing debut LP, Bloom, this October via London-based Holy Roar Records.
This in, directly from the heads of the label on the addition of OHHMS to their roster:
“Whilst it could potentially sound disheartening to some, only one previous band has ever eventually ended up working with Holy Roar simply by sending us music. That band was Throats. The second band to end up part of the family in this manner is what you have in front of you here, right now. OHHMS.”
With just two tracks clocking in at a massive thirty-two minutes, OHHMS fuses elements of doom, post-metal, prog and psychedelia in stunning clarity and power thanks to Ian Sadler at Emeline Studios and Brad Boatright at Audiosiege mastering. Breathtaking macro minimalistic artwork courtesy of Black Sails Design more than ably demonstrates the concept of both the record and intent of this band. This is nuanced, controlled anger that knows when to lurk in dark recesses, and when to viscerally bare its teeth. If this leaves you none the wiser, then settle in for this undulating auditory journey. In simple terms – this is a new form of mature heavy music that blends elements of doom, post-metal and progressive/post-rock, without ever losing an undercurrent that crackles with a distinct energy. From small seeds…..
Fans of Harvey Milk, Isis, Pallbearer, Slabdragger, Rolo Tomassi at their most serene, as well as progressive and expansive classic rock are advised to get hip to OHHMS‘ output. Holy Roar Records will release Bloom on digital, CD and LP formats on October 6th 2014. View a trailer for the album below and place preorders HERE.
Following its premiere this past weekend on Full Metal Jackie’s syndicated radio show, today long-running death metal behemoths, CANNIBAL CORPSE, deliver “The Murderer’s Pact” via empire sound portal, Loudwire.
“The Murderer’s Pact” serves as the sixth cut of sonic punishment from CANNIBAL CORPSE‘s forthcoming A Skeletal Domain full-length, set for official detonation via Metal Blade Records on September 16th, 2014.
Comments Loudwire: “The band has been spewing out death metal for over twenty-five years, and A Skeletal Domain, much like CANNIBAL CORPSE‘s first twelve albums, takes no prisoners. Clocking in at over five minutes, ‘The Murderer’s Pact’ showcases some awesome musicianship from the band’s instrumental sections along with an interesting song structure. For fans of George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher, you’re in for a treat, as well. The vocalist also delivers with his trademark grunt, showing no signs of vocal rust whatsoever.”
Get brutal with “The Murderer’s Pact,” now playing at THIS LOCATION.
A Skeletal Domain marks CANNIBAL CORPSE‘s astounding thirteenth full-length. Produced by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, DevilDriver) at Audio Hammer Studios, the record heaves forth twelve ill-omened tracks in forty-four skin-searing minutes, the result of which is a colossal, confrontational, and meticulously executed aural attack that finds the band at the peak of their notoriously hyper-kinetic viciousness. In an 8/10 rating of A Skeletal Domain, Decibel elaborates, “‘Vector Of Cruelty’ is a masterful combination of coruscating mid-pace burl and quirky thrash, ‘The Murderer’s Pact’ pushes boundaries in the fields of lead work and atonality, while ‘Kill Or Become’ has a sizzling, infectious quality and the potential to be a set closer should they ever quit it with ‘Hammer Smashed Face.’… the point is, there’s material on lucky number thirteen that stands up to the classics.”
Adds Sputnik Music in a near perfect 4/5 score, “CANNIBAL CORPSE have pushed the technicality of their songs without forgetting the brutality or speed that fans have come to expect. They have also added a thrash element that periodically rears its head before being murdered by another blast beat and atonal guitar solo. Together all of these elements have created a CANNIBAL CORPSE album that is darker and more chaotic than normal, but that is somehow probably their most accessible. …with A Skeletal Domain there is even more of a reason for people to give CANNIBAL CORPSE a listen.”
In related CANNIBAL CORPSE happenings, the band will unleash their first-ever official authorized biography. Written by Joel McIver, author of Justice For All: The Truth About Metallica and biographies on Black Sabbath, Slayer, Slipknot, and Queens Of The Stone Age,Bible Of Butchery – Cannibal Corpse: The Official Biography will contain over 150 pages loaded with photos from the band’s collection, available everywhere later this month.
A Skeletal Domain will be released in North America on September 16th, 2014 via Metal Blade Records. Point your browser to metalblade.com/cannibalcorpse where you’ll witness the audio menace of second track, “Sadistic Embodiment” as well as a host of preorder bundles.
One of the most promising Extreme Metal outfits to emerge in the last 5 years, Saille, today reveals details for a brand new concept album. Featuring 9 tracks and 55 minutes of epic black metal in which the band have explored several well-known masterpieces of classic and modern horror literature; ‘Eldritch’ sees the Belgian sextet return with their third album and much anticipated follow-up to the highly acclaimed ‘Irreversible Decay’ and ‘Ritu’ albums released in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
‘Eldritch’ will be released in an elaborate digipak edition as well as digitally on 10th November via Code666. See below for a complete track listing.
01) Emerald
02) Walpurgis
03) The Great God Pan
04) Aklo
05) Cold War
06) Eater of Worlds
07) Red Death
08) Dagon
09) Carcosa
‘Eldritch’ recording sessions were once again supervised by Reinier Schenk, who prepared all songs for the final mixing and mastering by Klas Blomgren (SW), known for his work with Svart, the project of Shining’s bass player Draug.
The band commissioned England’s Colin Marks of Rain Song Design for the cover art who is most noted for his work with bands such as Strapping Young Lad, Exodus, Scar Symmetry, Suicide Silence to name a few.
Keyboardist Dries Gaerdelen founded Saille (pronounced sahl-yeh) in 2009, in order to create his favourite style of music (Melodic Black Metal with a threatening and epic feel, like Tartaros, Limbonic Art and Keep of Kalessin). The debut album ‘Irreversible Decay’ was recorded at the end of 2009 and finalized in September 2010. After being contacted by several labels, Saille chose to work with Code666 records and the album was released on 4th March 2011. At first Saille was only intended as a studio project. However, it soon became clear the music should be brought to life and several shows followed. The live shows of the first album were concluded with a slot on Belgium’s biggest metalfest Graspop Metal Meeting 2012. At the end of 2012 another highlight was their appearance at The Netherlands Eindhoven Metal Meeting.
In July 2012 the band hit the Shumcot Studio again to record their second album entitled ‘Ritu’. With lyrics inspired by death rites in ancient cultures and vocalist Dennie Grondelaers’ interest for H.P. Lovecraft and Cthulhu, the next album had a much darker setting. Again classical skilled guest musicians were invited to create the irreplaceable real sounds. After two months of intensive recording sessions, the final mix was finished in September and sent to the Norwegian mastering specialist Tom Kvålsvoll (Strype Audio). On 18th January 2013 ‘Ritu’ saw the light of day as a digipak.
After the release of the ‘Ritu’ Saille was looking forward to an intensive year. They embarked on their first tour in January 2013, with Transylvanian black metal legends Negura Bunget. Followed by more gigs in Belgium and the Netherlands, supporting bands like Textures, Von, Winterfylleth, In-Quest and The Monolith Death Cult. During summer, Saille was invited to perform on several festivals like AMF (with Napalm Death), Vlamrock (with Exhumed, Belphegor, Rotting Christ) and Metal Méan (with Marduk, Dying Fetus). In September, Saille supported Winterfylleth, a British band they consider as friends since they first met on Graspop 2012, on three UK shows. The band’s last performance for 2013 took place in Denmark for a headlining position on the Black Winter Fest in Copenhagen, Denmark.
2014 started with shows alongside Carach Angren, Asphyx and a second UK visit to Liverpool and London. While composing and recording the songs for the third album ‘Eldritch’ (adj. weird, sinister, unearthly or ghostly), Saille joined founders of black metal, the true Mayhem, on stage in Belgium’s most known concert venue – AB Brussels. During summer 2014, recording sessions were at full speed, and Saille played at Black Way Open Air festival in Germany, along with their friends in Aborted.
‘Eldritch’ will be presented in Bredene, Belgium at a release show with Winterfylleth on 10th November 2014 and again at Eindhoven Metal Meeting in The Netherlands on 12th December 2014.
UK supermetallers MONSTERWORKS have made their newest album, Overhaul, available as a digital download via Bandcamp. The album was originally scheduled to be released on vinyl the last week of August and has been pushed back to September.
The band commented:
“Our new album, Overhaul, is out now. It will be our first on vinyl, as well as digital, so we are doubly excited….however….unfortunately there has been a delay in pressing the LPs and, rather than postpone the release date, we will simply take orders. In the meantime, you can get your Bandcamp download immediately. Shipping date is estimated on September 18. As a thank you for waiting we will throw in a free CD of Album of Man to go out with LP orders!”

Get ready to mosh in the privacy of your own home, because multiple Grammy-nominated thrash masters ANTHRAX have announced the release of “Chile On Hell”, a live-in-concert DVD that is due on September 16th. “Chile On Hell” was filmed at the Teatro Caupolican in Santiago, Chile on May 10, 2013 and features ANTHRAX performing an extended set that featured songs from the band’s entire catalogue.
“Chile On Hell” will be available on DVD and Blu-ray and 2 Live CDs, was recorded in 5.1 Surround Sound, and will retail for $16.98.
“Santiago was the perfect place to film the show for this,” said ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante. “When we’d played there in the past, we’d finish our set, play our encore and go back to the dressing room. But every time, the fans would continue to scream and cheer and clap. I mean, they went on and on, they wouldn’t stop. One time Scott [Ian, guitar] and I walked out to the side of the stage just to watch what was going on in the audience, it was intense. Why wouldn’t we want to film a DVD in front of an audience like that?
“Plus,” Benante continued, “the time was right to do this DVD… We wanted to finish on a high note. We didn’t want to look back and regret that we didn’t record the live show.”
“Chile On Hell” was produced by Jay Ruston and filmed by City Drive Entertainment Group and DC3 Global. The DVD’s cover art was designed by Stephen Thompson, who partnered with Benante to “redesign” the artwork from last year’s “Anthems” EP.
The band’s setlist was as follows:
Among The Living
Caught In A Mosh
I Am The Law
Efilnikufesin (N.F.L.)
A Skeleton In The Closet
March Of The S.O.D. (STORMTROOPERS OF DEATH cover)
EXODUS proudly announce the special guests appearing on the latest showcase of unrefined rage BLOOD IN BLOOD OUT, the band’s tenth studio album due out on October 10th (EU), 13th (UK), 14th (NA) via Nuclear Blast Records.
Crafting an industrial sound bed on the intro to the album opener “Black 13” is electronic music producer Dan the Automator (GORILLAZ, MIKE PATTON, DELTRON 3030).
“We ran into each other a couple times,” shares EXODUS guitarist & songwriter Gary Holt. “I knew what I wanted to hear and I knew he could do it, and could do it that day. So we sent him a file with the drums and guitars we already had there and just told him to go crazy with it.”
Testament frontman Chuck Billy lends his signature roar to the track “BTK,” one of the first songs recorded by returning vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza, who recently said, “Chuck and I have known each other forever. We work really well together, we know each other really well. So if I’m doing my vocals and he’s there, I can trust him to go ‘No way Zet, doesn’t sound good like that. Do it like this,’ or ‘Yeah that’s killer.’ If he says it sounds killer, I know it is.”
Original band guitarist Kirk Hammett of Metallica contributed a solo to “Salt The Wound.”
“This was actually the first time Kirk got to play on an official EXODUS release,” states Holt. “He did the early demo, and then joined Metallica and didn’t do anything with us after that. So he was totally gung-ho about it. He came down and ripped out a bunch of takes and we picked the best one and then had a barbecue and drank beer.”
“It felt really casual, really cool – just like it did back in 1980 when we were all just hanging out back in the day,” Hammett confessed to RollingStone.com in July.
Produced by Andy Sneap (ACCEPT, KREATOR, MEGADETH), BLOOD IN BLOOD OUTfeatures cover illustration by Swedish artist Par Olofsson (PSYCROPTIC, ABYSMAL DAWN, REVOCATION).
The album can be pre-ordered from the Nuclear Blast web shop (http://smarturl.it/EXODUS-Blood) in CD, CD/DVD Digipak, 2-LP exclusive vinyl, and imported limited edition boxset formats. Bundles include a t-shirt with exclusive artwork for North America + a poster (while supplies last).

Italian Death Metal horde, HIDEOUS DIVINITY, who feature within their ranks former members of Hour Of Penance and Ghouls, is preparing to unleash Cobra Verde, their second full-length via Unique Leader next month.
Featuring nine hymns of hate and contempt, Cobra Verde was recorded at 16th Cellar Studios (House Of Penance, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Trifixion, Vomit The Soul et al), boasts a guest vocal appearances by Nile’s Dallas Toler-Wade, a crushing cover of Ripping Corpse’s “The Last And Only Son” and is a true must-have for devout followers of obscure and intense death metal a la Nile, Immolation with the lysergic influences of Ulcerate.
In celebration of its imminent rule, Decibel Magazine, who applauds HIDEOUS DIVINITY’s “uber-brutal, churning platter of tech-y death metal,” offers up the fittingly titled fifth cut “Sinister And Demented,” for your weekend listening pleasures at THIS LOCATION.
Cobra Verde – Track Listing:
1. In My Land I Was A Snake
2. The Somber Empire
3. Cobra Verde
4. Salt In The Martyr’s Tear
5. Sinister And Demented
6. Desolation Within
7. The Alonest Of The Alone (featuring Nile’s Dallas Toler-Wade)
8. Adijnakou
9. The Last And Only Son (Ripping Corpse cover)
Born between Italy and Norway in late 2006 as a side project of Hour Of Penance founder Enrico Schettino, HIDEOUS DIVINITY immediately earned underground accolades thanks to their Sinful Star Necrolatry two-track demo, an intriguing mesh of European and American extremities released at the end of 2007. It wasn’t until 2010 that the band, with their first stable lineup, would perform live with longstanding comrades, Insision. In the interim, new songs were composed with their European Death/Black influences giving way to a more mindful, complex yet straight-in-your-face Death Metal assault in the vein of Nile, Immolation and Hate: the embryo of their first full-length release.
Following another successful appearance in Scandinavia at the end of April 2012, this time for the prestigious Inferno Festival in Oslo, Norway, a three-album deal with Unique Leader Records was forged. In late July 2011 the band entered 16th Cellar to record their Obeisance Rising debut. The lyrical concept is based on John Carpenter’s immortal masterstroke They Live, a dramatically relevant testimony of a dark era that never ended.
“In this place, the dead are more alive than the living.” A new era has come for HIDEOUS DIVINITY. Join the slavery.
Cobra Verde will be released in the US on October 28th, 2014, the UK on October 27th and the rest of Europe on October 31st. Preorder your copy at THIS LOCATION.

Sacrilege Of Humanity received amazing feedback both from Metal press and fans all around the globe, and have since toured supporting Vader several times among many others over the years. Upon previous releases, Global Domination calls CALM HATCHERY, “highly recommended,” while BraveWords dubs the band, “very quality death metal from a band with a huge future ahead of them,” and Infernal Masquerade states, “With superb guitar work, very brutal (and elaborate) drumming, and perfect growls, CALM HATCHERY will surely please and impress most death metal fans these days.”
Cruz Del Sur Music will release the self-titled debut album from old school Finnish Heavy Metal heroes MAUSOLEUM GATE on October 7th, in North America. Quite simply, the album is destined to become a cult classic!
Rarely in the past few years has any Metal scene’s newcomer been able to craft such authentic sounding, Classic Heavy Metal music, with the passion and energy that MAUSOLEUM GATE put into their debut album. Their appearance on the scene out-of-nowhere came so unexpectedly and shockingly, but immediately turned some heads, as the band has been invited to play the next edition of the famous German “Keep It True Festival” in April 2015.
Inspired by the late 70s/early 80s Metal sound, these Finnish lads know perfectly where to hit to provoke the most positive reactions among fans of the NWOBHM’s sound and die-hard aficionados of the twisting sounds of CIRITH UNGOL and lovers of 70s rock greats such as the SCORPIONS and URIAH HEEP. The presence of unusual keys (Mellotron and Organ mainly) gives this album a spooky and somewhat tragic atmosphere, with long suites such as “Lost Beyond the Sun” and “Mausoleum Gate” serving as the highest peaks of an opera prima that will not pass unobserved.
Stream album cut “Magic of the Gypsy Queen” below:
