Dublin, Ireland-based Pagan metal legends, PRIMORDIAL, today unveil their Live In New York City full-length. Recorded earlier this year at Ridgewood, New York’s TV Eye, the stunning collection spans the band’s now legendary catalog with tracks from Spirit The Earth Aflame, The Gathering Wilderness, To The Nameless Dead, Redemption At The Puritan’s Hand, Exile Amongst The Ruins, and their most recent release, How It Ends.

Comments vocalist A.A. Nemtheanga, “Live In New York City, a title that sort of speaks for itself, something every band probably wants in their discography, right? Who knows, we may not be on this mortal coil for that much longer. When might some new music be on the horizon? Who can tell? But when we heard the results of this incredibly well mixed show which captured perfectly the passion, commitment, and fury of a special night, something that doesn’t happen often, we thought, what the hell, let’s put it out there.’

PRIMORDIAL released their acclaimed How It Ends full-length last Fall via Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2018’s critically lauded Exile Amongst The Ruins finds PRIMORDIAL delivering more of their seminal blend of Celtic and black metal, with added urgency staring down the apocalypse.

“The title is a question – is this how it ends? How it all goes down; culture, language, history, society, humanity… who knows?,” considers vocalist A. A. Nemtheanga. “Regardless of who you are or were, you get one chance at all of this, and it’s asking, is this the end of your town, state, nation? Myths, traditions, relationships…?, and I suppose it asks the question, who reacts, who rebels, how does it end now for them?”

Dublin’s finest Metal exports, PRIMORDIAL, will release their long-anticipated new studio album, Where Greater Men Have Fallen, later this Fall via Metal Blade Records.

Commended by Pitchfork for their meticulously composed “folk and black metal-inflected classic metal that spirals and extends and somehow, keeps getting bigger,” and crowned the, “most vital heavy metal band on the planet,” by Last Rites, Where Greater Men Have Fallen serves as the followup to PRIMORDIAL‘s critically adored, 2011-released Redemption At The Puritan’s Hand full-length and boasts some of the band’s deepest, most meticulously composed compositions to date. The eight-track, fifty-eight minute epic was tracked at Grouse Lodge in Dublin with Jaime Gomez (Cathedral, Angelwitch, Grave Miasma).

Singer A.A. Nemtheanga elaborates: “Some time at the end of 2013 we sat and began to plot a course for album number eight. We moved camp to a new rehearsal room and the ideas began to take shape. We felt it was time to try a new studio and engineer, so we went to Grouse Lodge deep in the middle of Ireland and employed Gomez to come over and work on the new album.” The band’s idea was, of course, to keep the PRIMORDIAL trademarks intact while incorporating a broader, heavier more organic sound. “We feel revitalized, the hunger never left and we are ready for another chapter to be written in our history!
