On June 28th, 1996 – KISS launched their reunion tour, aka the Alive/Worldwide Tour at Tiger Stadium in Detroit. Alice In Chains was the opening band.

On June 28th, 2002 – RUSH began their tour at the Meadows Music Theater, in Hartford, Connecticut,  in support of their seventeenth studio album: Vapor Trails. Whoa. Shown above is the original front cover for Vapor Trails.

On June 28th, 2015 – The forthcoming studio album, Found In Far Away Places (Deluxe Edition), from August Burns Red is ranked at #1, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. This album releases on June 30th, 2015.

On June 28th, 2015 – The fabulous NONPOINT have their eighth studio album, The Return, ranked at #59, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Holy mayo and tuna salad! By the way, this album was released back in September of 2014.

On June 27th, 1987 – The fabulous Mötley Crüe peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart with Girls, Girls, Girls which went on to sell four million (plus) copies in the United States. Outstanding!

On June 27th, 1994 – The super-duper Aerosmith became the huge name band to release a song on the internet as a free download. Head First was the song that was available on CompuServe for one week; unfortunately fans had to endure an hour’s worth (or much more) of download time to hear the song. Those were the days. Head First was an unused song from Aerosmith’s Get A Grip sessions.

On June 27th, 2006 – The KISS Coffeehouse opened for business, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. For this happy grand opening, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley made their appearance. Unfortunately, the KISS Coffeehouse closed in late September of 2013, due to a lack of growth in sales. A clearance sale of all KISS novelty items took place during the closing days of this establishment as well. Goodness gracious.

On June 27th, 2015 – Former Megadeth members, guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover, have recently formed their own Thrash/Speed Metal band: Act Of Defiance. Their forthcoming debut studio album, Birth And The Burial, is ranked at #86, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Jiminy Cricket! This album is scheduled to release on August 21st, 2015.

On June 27th, 2015 – METALACHI, The world’s first and only Heavy Metal Mariachi Band, have their new studio album UNO ranked at #66, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. ¡Ay, caramba!

On June 24th, 1989 – Philadelphia’s Cinderella had their hit single, Coming Home, ranked at #20, on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. This cool song is featured on Cinderella’s second studio album from 1988: Long Cold Winter. Whoa!

On June 24th, 2000 – The iconic KISS began a two-day auction of various stage props, instruments and costumes worn and used throughout their storied Rock ‘N Roll domination. Over $880,000 in KISStoric items were sold on this day, back in 2000.

KISS The Auction was held at the Paramount Theatre at Paramount Studios in Hollywood California, along with internet and phone bids. KISS The Auction was presented by Greg Manning Auctions and Butterfields. Whoa and whoa again!!

On June 24th, 2014 – The unbelievable IRON MAIDEN performed at INEA Stadion in Poznań, Poland. Holy moly! Long live IRON MAIDEN!

On June 24th, 2015 – The forthcoming studio album, Abysmal, from Detroit’s The Black Dahlia Murder, is ranked at #1, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. This album will be out worldwide on September 18th, 2015. Jiminy Cricket and Hell Yeah!

On June 24th, 2015 – The forthcoming studio album, Genexus, from the legendary Fear Factory is ranked at #9, on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Genexus will be released worldwide on August 7th, 2015, via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Genexus will be the 9th studio album from Fear Factory. Hot damn!

On June 19th, 1965 – The Rolling Stones had their first #1 single on the American charts, with (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction. That piece of Rock history is whiz-bang! Long live The Rolling Stones!

On June 19th, 1982 – Rainbow hits #40 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with their single: Stone Cold. This song is featured on Rainbow’s sixth studio album from 1982: Straight Between The Eyes.

On June 19th, 2015 – The new studio album, Luminiferous, from HIGH ON FIRE, is once again ranked at #1, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Long live HIGH ON FIRE!

On June 19th, 2015 – The forthcoming studio album, Underworld, from SYMPHONY X, is ranked at #27, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. This highly anticipated album will be released on July 24th, 2015, via Nuclear Blast. Hell and freaking yeah!!

On June 17th, 1989 – Heavy Metal ambassadors Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne had their hit power ballad, Close My Eyes Forever, ranked at #8, on the (U.S.) Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Zowie!

On June 17th, 1991 – Van Halen released their ninth studio album, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, via Warner Bros. records. This album went on to debut at #1 on the (U.S.) Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. The huge hit single, Right Now, is featured on this record too. If you take the first letter of each word of this album’s title, what does it spell? Three million (plus) copies of this album have been sold in the United States. Jiminy Cricket, that’s a lot of albums!

On June 17th, 1994 – Yes, even the great Jack Nicholson portrayed a wolfman in a major motion picture known as Wolf. This film hit wide-screen theaters, on this day 21 years ago, via Columbia Pictures. As I see it, any dude that can transform into a wolfman is Metal. Wolf also stars the very talented Michelle Pfeiffer. This romantic Horror/Thriller film was directed by Mike Nichols.

On June 17th, 2015 – The newly released studio album, Luminiferous, from High On Fire, is ranked at #1 on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Yowza!

On June 8th, 1991 – Extreme has their hit ballad, More Than Words, ranked at #1, on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Whoa! This song is featured on the second studio album from Extreme, released in 1990: Extreme II: Pornograffitti. Long live Extreme!

On June 8th, 1996 – Metallica reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for the first and only time with their hit single: Until It Sleeps. This song peaked at number ten. Until It Sleeps is featured on Metallica’s sixth studio album, released in 1996: Load.

On June 8th, 2003 – The magnificent Led Zeppelin reached the top of the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart for the first time in twenty-four years, with their triple live album: How The West Was Won. This album features live performances from their 1972 United States tour. How The West Was Won spent just one week on top of this album chart.
