Adrenaline Mob – Mike Portnoy’s Supergroup To Release Debut EP On August 9th, 2011

ADRENALINE MOB – With Mike Portnoy no longer the drummer for Dream Theater, he is embarking on the next chapters of his stellar music career, one such new chapter is a new Heavy Rock band called: Adrenaline Mob. News of this new “supergroup” broke out in mid June of this year and now the debut EP from Adrenaline Mob will be released on August 9th, 2011.

This Adrenaline Mob, five song EP, includes a cover of the (RJD era) Black Sabbath classic: The Mob Rules. From the samples I’ve listened to on Amazon.com, all five songs undisputedly ROCK and Adrenaline Mob play The Mob Rules with Metal muscle. There will never ever be another Ronnie James Dio, with that said, from the short sample I’ve listened to, Russell Allen sounds damn good singing The Mob Rules. Some may call Adrenaline Mob a Hard Rock band, others will swear they are Metal. I’m going the Metal route here… based on the raw, heavy and edgy moments of these songs I’ve sampled into my ears. Metal be thy name.

* The mp3 album/EP of Adrenaline Mob can be downloaded at Amazon.com for $4.95 (U.S.) on August 9th, 2011. A full-length Adrenaline Mob album is reportedly forthcoming, at the beginning of 2012.

Between The Buried And Me – To Headline 2011 Saints & Sinners Tour: Beginning October 27th!

Globally celebrated progressive rock / cutting-edge Metal innovators BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME (aka BTBAM) has announced a fall North American headlining tour in support of its new LP The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues. The award winning band will headline the 2011 “Saints & Sinners” Tour and launch the six week trek on 10/27 in Charlotte, NC. Support on the BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME tour will come from Animals as Leaders and TesseracT with tickets available for advance purchase now at this location. “It will be so exciting to get back out on the road and play some tunes for all our wonderful fans,” said BTBAM guitarist Paul Waggoner. “Our anticipation for this tour is massive and I hope that sentiment is shared by all the metal geeks out there. Released on April 12 via Metal Blade Records, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues is a three-song strong, 30 minute tour de force of modern heavy music. Produced and engineered by the Grammy award–winning David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, King Crimson, Dream Theater, etc.) with BTBAM, the record soared to #54on the Billboard Top 200 chart in its first week of release while landing the #5 spot on the Hard Music chart, and #8 on the Independent Albums chart in its first week of release. The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues also debuted in Canada charting at #62 on the Top 200 Current chart, #6 on the Hard chart, and #14 on the Independent chart.

HULL – To Release Beyond The Lightless Sky: October 11th: Artwork And Track Listing Revealed

HULL – Hailing from the streets of Brooklyn, New York, HULL has yet again emerged with a creation to outlive the ages. Hard at work since the release of their 2009 debut, Sole Lord, ideas were envisioned and the mighty wind of creativity brought upon this Earth the latest saga, Beyond The Lightless Sky.

Digging further into the past, the Mayan epic takes the listener through a division of two brothers and the struggles that they are faced with. One finds salvation amongst the stars and the wisdom of a stranger, while the other is mesmerized with the bloodthirsty belief of sacrifice and self-mutilation. In silence lies a realm that exists outside the plane of fear.

Taking the new songs on the road, HULL embarked on a successful mission to Austin for the SXSW Festival to then triumphantly return and join forces with longtime friend and talented engineer/percussionist, Brett Romnes (IATA). Within an enormous, darkened club, many nights fell into morning as the immense sound was captured for the album, before putting the recording into the hands of a mixing madman, Billy Anderson. With such experience as The Melvins, Neurosis and Eyehategod, the journey was brutally finished.

Known to behold vast sound expanses, HULL maximizes harmony and tone within one monstrous palate. Upon your brow, focus, as a furious whip of intermingling guitars propel you through the atmosphere as a low pulse resonates through your entire being while the pounding drums blanket all chasms of reality. Find yourself immersed in a musical tide as it is played out before your ears beyond the lightless sky.
