Chicago’s death metal juggernaut BEAR MACE has released their latest single, “The Iceman Cometh,” along with an intense new official music video, taken from their crushing new album Slaves of the Wolf. The track and video dive headfirst into the cold-blooded legacy of infamous contract killer Richard Kuklinski, also known as “The Iceman.”

“This one is about Richard Kuklinski, the infamous ‘Iceman’ who was purported to have killed over 200 people,” says vocalist Chris Scearce. “Every method of killing described in the lyrics are ways that he actually disposed of his victims.”

Visually dark and visceral, the video amplifies the song’s chilling subject matter with disturbing imagery and a relentless performance from BEAR MACE.

A lot of SLAYER influence here, especially the guitar solo tradeoff,” adds guitarist MARK SUGAR. “The secret ingredient in writing ‘old school death metal’ is listening to the bands that inspired death metal originally.”

With unrelenting riffs, guttural ferocity, and a raw narrative edge, “The Iceman Cometh” is a standout track and the video captures the band’s signature blend of historical horror and musical extremity in full force.

This release is a formidable precursor to Slaves Of The Wolf, scheduled for full release on June 6, 2025, and available for pre-order HERE.

Savage riffing and blasting drums with gargantuan vocals drop us into the fiery abysses of the album without warning. DIABOLIZER does not intend to ease you in, preferring to throw everything they have at you, which is a forceful and crushing maelstrom of true Death Metal magnificence.

Contorting riffs and malignant rhythmic battery ensue with a vengeful blend of ideas conveyed superbly by a titanic production, ensuring every element of brutality can be felt through the entire body. From the frantic aggression of the instruments to the savagery displayed in the vocals, everything about DIABOLIZER feels like a strong continuation from their supreme debut album in 2021, which already saw them establish a loyal following.

DIABOLIZER:
Malik – Bass
Aberrant – Drums
Mustafa – Guitars
Abomination – Vocals
Can – Guitars

The demonic atmosphere of the record is impressive enough, but there is just the right amount of technicality to show how skilled these musicians are without straying far from pulverizing us with utter malice. The solos, for example, are played gloriously while remaining short in most cases so as not to interrupt the grave-splitting onslaught of pure old school morbidity.

Enormous variety in the riffing, drums and vocals alike ensures all forty minutes of this record are impactful, intense and insanely well executed. The return of DIABOLIZER is an essential moment in 2025’s Death Metal calendar, do not miss it!
