LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT – To Release Rushing Through The Sky – 10th Anniversary Edition

Posted in Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on July 14, 2022 by Metal Odyssey

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of her debut solo album, Rushing Through The Sky, gothic metal singer/songwriter LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT will be releasing a brand new, remastered edition of the album. The album will be available on vinyl for the first time in a limited edition blue variant and digitally streaming for the first time. Pre-orders are available HERE.

Lindsay comments:

“When I first recorded and released this EP I did not account for the fact that one day it was going to turn 10. I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that a decade has come and gone. Luckily, my team and I caught before the big anniversary had a chance to pass us by.

For years the fans have been asking me to print this first release on vinyl, and here it finally is! Remastered just for the occasion. You can now experience the same songs from 10 years ago with a new sound and look.

Thanks to Phantasma Photography the Vinyl comes with new artwork too. Anyone who pre-orders the vinyl from my official shop gets it signed and personally addressed and will also receive a download of the 2022 version of “December Rain.”

I’m thrilled to celebrate my debut as a solo artist in such a special way a whole decade later.”

TOXIK – Release New Single “Creating The Abyss” – Issue Accompanying Lyric Video

Posted in Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , , , , on July 12, 2022 by Metal Odyssey

Guitarist Josh Christian about the song: “This song takes on the concept of wage slavery by using a scene from the Kinross’ Paracatu gold mine in Brazil, one of the largest in the world. Slavery is alive and well, and we wear it around our necks and on our fingers everyday. A brutal syncopated riff adorned with polyphonic and angular harmonies and solos…Toxik strikes again!”

Wise Blood Records presents the debut LP from Indianapolis black metal/thrash cosmonauts BLASTED HEATH.

According to the band, the lyrical concepts project “a deep fascination with outer space phenomena mixed with a certain existential dread.”Between world-ending riffs, BLASTED HEATH populate their songs with Killanovas and celestial beasts. Can you hear the roaring sea? Hitting the shores on August 12th via Atomic Fire Records is SEVENTH STORM’s debut studio album, Maledictus, which fuses melancholic gothic metal with harsh hard rock. In advance of the record’s official unveiling, today the band reveals second single, “Haunted Sea,” a soaring track that serves as the beginning of a dramatic journey into the unknown.

Comments drummer Mike Gaspar, “‘Haunted Sea’ takes us on a voyage through the treacherous waters. Overcoming the dangers and fears of this life. There’s no other way out but to fight through the waves to reach dry land. Finding love and peace for all. This song was the first to be written as a band. The strength and unity is what we bring to life in this epic story! We, SEVENTH STORM, salute all and invite you to discover this dark treasure. Hail to the winds and waters that fill our souls. There is no turning back!”

Take a deep dive into the “Haunted Sea” with the band’s new music video at THIS LOCATION.

If you missed it, watch SEVENTH STORM’s previously released video for “Saudade” at THIS LOCATION. Find the Portuguese version of the track HERE.

Maledictus will be available on CD, LP, and digitally. Find preordering options at THIS LOCATION.

With influences ranging from Bathory via Samael, Tiamat, Paradise Lost, Fields Of The Nephilim, Cradle Of Filth, and Dead Can Dance to even Van Halen or Mötley Crüe, SEVENTH STORM is only just embarking on a journey across the wild and wondrous waters of heavy metal history. And while not a concept album, Maledictus – graced by an atmospheric painting from Victor Costa – is tied together by a strong sense of pain and anger, paired with a flickering hope of forgiveness for our lives.

Rez – vocals
Ben Stockwell – lead guitar

Listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqyVfkbS7D4

AVELION – Italian Progressive Metallers Release New Single “Bound To Blackness”

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news, Power Metal, prog metal music with tags , , , , , , , , , on July 3, 2022 by Metal Odyssey

The flagbearers of modern Italian progressive metal, AVELION, have been churning out bombastic singles for more than a decade, dropping a string of releases that have been helping shape the genre. In 2022, they return with “Bound To Blackness”, the first single recorded with new vocalist Riccardo Rizzardelli.

The song – recorded, produced and mixed by Simone Mularoni – is now available at THIS LOCATION.

“‘Bound To Blackness’ is a song that manages to encompass all the main elements of our music: melody, groove, oddly shifting time signatures, electronics, ambient and cinematic arrangements, as well as dense progressive instrumental sections. We worked very hard in the studio with Simone Mularoni to create a truly original and modern mix, suitable not only for progressive metal fans, but also for power and melodic metal listeners, as well as for djent and modern metal enthusiasts.

We can’t wait to take old fans and new listeners on this journey through the different nuances that make up our sound. The concept of the song is open to each listener’s interpretation, but there is a message of self development and inner growth, which involves awareness, acceptance and finally overcoming our darkest side. It’s a song about fighting your inner nightmares to find yourself. A journey in which acceptance and redemption are to be sought within ourselves”.

Each AVELION release expands and clarifies the band’s mission to bring forth the most dynamic sonic offerings. Marrying progressive and modern metal influences, AVELION approach each song as a unique opportunity to destroy and rebuild the listener’s perception.

Riccardo Rizzardelli – Vocals
Oreste Giacomini – Keyboards
Leonardo Freggi– Guitars
Danilo Arisi – Bass
Alessandro Ponzi – Drums

“Kintsugi is about the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by filling cracks with precious metals. We too can transform all ‘cracks’ – which represent both our weaknesses and the difficult times we sometimes are forced to face – into something that makes us stronger and more unique, without necessarily having to show fake perfection to the rest of the world. We are all human beings and, as such, we are not infallible”.
