Following their much acclaimed, third album Never Say Die in 2018, Shockwave will not only introduce new vocalist, Steve Welsh, but showcases the band’s exceptional songwriting talent and high voltage rock ’n’ roll at its best!

After previously-released album singles, “Preacher” and “Speed Machine”, today, the Australians shared a music video for new single “The Sorcerer”. Singer Steve promises: “The Sorcerer will take you on an electric journey into a parallel dimension, where rock and roll wields cosmic powers beyond our comprehension!”

Watch the new DEAD CITY RUINS video for “The Sorcerer” HERE

Get the song on all digital platforms HERE!

As Shockwave proves, DEAD CITY RUINS don’t just have a penchant for songwriting, but also arrangements and the right energy. Formed in 2012, the band sold their belongings and went all-in when it comes to rock ’n’ roll. Tirelessly touring the planet, the band has managed to capture the hearts of its audience gig by gig – much like Rival Sons, Monster Truck, and similar trailblazers of their generation have. They also share a list of influences with these acts, namely Deep Purple, Guns N’ Roses, Zeppelin. Their goal: bring rock ’n’ roll back to the people, and there is no doubt about it, they will!

Shockwave was mixed by US-producer Gene Freeman aka Machine, who has already worked with the likes of Lamb Of God, Clutch, and Crobot. Slated for a release on August 19, 2022 via AFM Records, the pre-sale of Shockwave is available at THIS LOCATION!

Shockwave – track listing:

  1. Preacher
  2. Vision
  3. Madness
  4. Speed Machine

Steve Welsh (Vocals)
Tommy Cain (Guitars)
Sean Blanchard (Guitars)
Thomas Murphy (Bass)
Nick Trajanovski (Drums)

LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT – To Release Rushing Through The Sky – 10th Anniversary Edition

Posted in Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on July 14, 2022 by Metal Odyssey

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of her debut solo album, Rushing Through The Sky, gothic metal singer/songwriter LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT will be releasing a brand new, remastered edition of the album. The album will be available on vinyl for the first time in a limited edition blue variant and digitally streaming for the first time. Pre-orders are available HERE.

Lindsay comments:

“When I first recorded and released this EP I did not account for the fact that one day it was going to turn 10. I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that a decade has come and gone. Luckily, my team and I caught before the big anniversary had a chance to pass us by.

For years the fans have been asking me to print this first release on vinyl, and here it finally is! Remastered just for the occasion. You can now experience the same songs from 10 years ago with a new sound and look.

Thanks to Phantasma Photography the Vinyl comes with new artwork too. Anyone who pre-orders the vinyl from my official shop gets it signed and personally addressed and will also receive a download of the 2022 version of “December Rain.”

I’m thrilled to celebrate my debut as a solo artist in such a special way a whole decade later.”

HONG FAUX – Release New Single “Drop The Reins”

Posted in Hard Rock, hard rock bands, Heavy Metal, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on July 12, 2022 by Metal Odyssey

Swedish hard rock act Hong Faux recently signed to Golden Robot Records and today they release their latest single ‘Drop the Reins’ which is available now on all digital platforms.

Listen to ‘Drop The Reins’ HERE

‘Drop the Reins’ is a heavy riff-based classic Hong Faux track written exclusively as a homage to Miles Davis and rock ‘n’ roll. Can you spot all the Miles references?

The band recently released a newly remastered version of their 2013 hit and fan favourite ‘Feign Death to Stay Alive!’

Stream/buy ‘Drop the Reins’ HERE

ABOUT HONG FAUX:

Ever since Hong Faux’s very first recorded notes that started their journey from blog, to magazines, to radio and MTV, people have tried to label the music and try to figure out the meaning of the band’s name. A London promoter called it “Old school super sludgy riffology with blues wailin’ vox”. Listening to the songs ‘Present Tense-Less’ and ‘Bad City Blues’ on their debut album, it would be foolish to argue against such a statement. On the other hand, you’ll find the sound that brought together four guys with very diverse musical tastes and backgrounds.

One of the things the band members all dig on the same level is the harder bands that came out of Seattle in the early nineties. So, all put together, with a few added ingredients, you get heavy stoner riff galore with strong melodic vocals that honour the harmonic complexity of the grunge era.

“Our ambition is to combine the guitar riffs from the 70’s, the grunge scenes more melodic arts from the 90’s with modern rock. We have always enjoyed pop choruses and were convinced that the harder rock crew would think we were wimpy. But we were wrong… I guess even the cool dudes like to be tickled on the thighs every once and a while.” – lead singer Nik Serén.

The four-piece has done shows all over Europe, sharing stages with such diverse bands as D-A-D, Clutch, Graveyard, Danko Jones, Coheed and Cambria and Babyshambles. 2022 will see the release of new material, developed sound and live shows. You can count on Hong Faux delivering both weight and melody, just like they always do.
