SPIRITUAL DECEPTION – Share Lyric Video For “Thousand Lives Within” Featuring NILE’s Karl Sanders

Italian death metal quartet SPIRITUAL DECEPTION has shared the official lyric video for “Thousand Lives Within,” the first single from the band’s upcoming new album, Semitae Mentis. The song features a guest appearance by NILE guitarist/vocalist Karl Sanders.

Semitae Mentis will be out on February 9, 2024. Amputated Vein Records will release the album on physical formats, with Earache Records handling digital distribution.

Following a series of EPs, Semitae Mentis bears the markings of a band that has reached a higher level of songmanship and technical prowess. The album features guest contributions by Karl Sanders (Nile) and Luc Lemay (Gorguts).

SPIRITUAL DECEPTION is an atmospheric death metal band, with hints of technical and brutal death metal, active since 2016.

The band has a deep connection with philosophy and owes its name to a theory from the Danish philosopher Søren Aabye Kierkegaard, which struck the composers’ minds: different human beings in the act of analyzing a particular circumstance, approach (inevitably) the situation with different points of view. Extending that fact to the ethics field hence that nothing can be defined as objective good or bad, true or false, as the judgment is deeply rooted in everyone’s own perspective. As a result, there is no objective truth, your soul is constantly deceived.

Since its birth, the band produced 3 EPs: Spiritual Deception (2018), Etemenanki(2019), and Oxymoron (2021), sharpening its sound towards a modern brand of death metal, with brutal guitar riffing and blasting drums, combined with melodic elements, which go from guitar harmonies to liturgical choirs and strings ensembles. The result of the combination of these elements is a sound that satisfies all kinds of listeners, from the brutal to the more sophisticated ones.

This formula is enriched by the lyrics which are all about philosophy, astronomy, history, and literature. The band wants to spark an interest in all these themes together with the passion for music into the listener and, in order to achieve its goal, wants to deliver a complete product, well-finished from all the points of view: from the music and lyrics to the artwork and media contents.

ALTERIUM – Releases First Single And Music Video Of Upcoming Debut Studio Album

Following their recent signing with powerhouse label AFM Records, ALTERIUM, the new Italian power metal quintet led by Nicoletta Rosellini (ex. Kalidia, Walk in Darkness), has shared a music video for their first album single “Drag Me To Hell”!

As Nicoletta recently revealed: “I am finally happy to present you Alterium, my new power metal adventure. In the past months, we have poured our hearts and souls into crafting a debut album that harmonizes captivating melodies, powerful guitar riffs, and thunderous drums. The result is a strong debut album that we are eagerly anticipating to share with all of you.”

About the band’s first single release, the exceptional vocalist says:“‘Drag Me To Hell’ captures the entire power metal essence of Alterium, combining strong guitar riffs and captivating melodies that blend with themes related to the world of Warcraft, one of my greatest passions. In this track, we tell part of the story of heroic paladin Bolvar Fordragon, who, after surviving dragon’s flames, makes the ultimate sacrifice of sitting upon the Frozen Throne, becoming the ruler of the Scourge.”

Born in late 2022, ALTERIUM consists of Nicoletta and former bandmates Paolo Campitelli (guitars) and Dario Gozzi (drums) from Kalidia, soon joined by Alessandro Mammola (guitars, also in Draconicon) and Luca Scalabrin (bass, also in Altair).

After Kalidia parted ways, Nicoletta decided to take a different approach and finally unleashes her whole potential as both a singer and a songwriter. Under the guidance of producer Lars Rettkowitz (Freedom Call), ALTERIUM have finished the recordings of a bombastic debut album. The band’s first full-length will also feature a cover of the Sabaton classic “Bismarck”. HOLE IN THE FRAME keep on rocking with the third single in a few weeks. After ‘Mr Madness’ and ‘Insomnia Pt.2′, now is the time of ‘Frame Of Mind’, a powerful and groovy metal song, released through Volcano Records & Promotion, and available both on all digital platforms and YouTube with a lyric video.

‘Frame Of Mind’ is the title-track of the full album to be released by the band further on and well represents the style of this young collective that cross-over the genres with rage and strength. Time To Kill Records is happy to announce that they have signed Italian thrashers ADVERSOR.

The band is putting the finishing touches on the new album “Portrait Of A Wasteland”, which will be released sometime in 2023.

Formed in 2015, ADVERSOR released a demo and two full-length albums, “Rise to Survive” and “The End of Mankind”, in quick succession: both records allowed them to play everywhere in Italy and Europe alongside acts such as Exciter, Protector, Nifelheim, Gama Bomb and many others.

Hailing from the extreme metal hotbed of Northern Italy, old school death metallers SEPOLCRO have amounted a sizable arsenal in their years of existence. Following a couple of demos and a split came the “2011 – 2018” compilation on Sevared Records in 2018.

So impressed by their unbridled intensity and ceaselessly roiling rage, Unholy Domain Records and Dismal Fate Records are now releasing the new firestorm entitled “Amorphous Mass” on a worldwide scale.

Italian Trad-Metal Trailblazers TIR Releasing ‘Metal Shock’ May 10th On Gates Of Hell Records

Metal Shock is the band’s second full-length in a career that dates back to 1980. Metal Shock is an album that challenges the old-school metal status quo by having lyrics sung entirely in Italian.

Recorded at Trick Studio in Rome in late 2018/early 2019, Metal Shock is sung entirely in Italian, giving TIR yet another angle in a career that has been marked by going against the grain. Several of the songs found on Metal Shock date all the way back to the band’s halcyon ’80s period and were subsequently re-written and tinkered with until the members of TIR were satisfied. This type of meticulous detail shines throughout the album, where TIR’s penchant for knifing twin guitar melodies, hefty gallops and the multi-faceted vocal capabilities of Cialone are pure touchstones of metal’s undisputed glory era.

Traditional metal fans will instantly heed the call of TIR’s melody-dominated style and taut songwriting approach. Metal Shock marks a new beginning for a band, who, even as they are approaching the four-decade mark, are playing some of their most inspired material to date. TIR shows with Metal Shock that there is nothing stronger than conviction.

TIR BIO:

A year away from their 40th anniversary, Italian traditional metal outfit TIR remains one of the best-kept secrets in the underground. Formed in 1980 by the guitar tandem of Sergio Bonelli and Danilo Antonini, TIR opted for the path of most resistance: Instead of releasing studio albums and seeking major label assistance, they preferred to perform live shows. Their performances soon became can’t-miss events in Rome. Aided by fire, pyrotechnics and even live snakes, TIR’s reputation spread like wildfire (no pun intended) in their home city, catapulting their lone release of the decade, 1984’s self-titled demo, into the frenzied world of underground tape trading. However, while the metal scene waited for TIR to record a proper full-length album, the band stuck to their guns and simply kept playing live.

TIR would split in 1986, only to reform two years later. It wasn’t until 2011 that the band saw fit to release an album of original material, the appropriately titled Heavy Metal. Eight years later, TIR (who, in addition to Bonelli and Antonini, comprise long-time bassist Dino Gubinelli, vocalist Giuseppe Cialone and drummer Piero Arioni) return with Metal Shock, their first release for Gates of Hell Records.
