Phantom 13 flavors their songs with Horror lyrics, a Horror Punk/Shock Rock energy and attitude, while seasoned with a touch of Metal.
With the newest album from Phantom 13 comes a most fantastical listen into the spooky side of Rock ‘N Roll. I’ve found Out For Blood to be a euphoric 9 song, non-stop Horror Punk and Shock Rock ride! In other words, Phantom 13 makes me feel great with their Horror Punk whoop-ass and that’s what matters most.
I cannot say it enough, hot damn, are all 9 songs a kick-ass sonic experience on Out For Blood! The album opener and title track sets the eerie mood and up-tempo pace of what’s to come; whether the macabre mood is subtle or obvious, Phantom 13 knows how to musically and lyrically ignite the creepy that lurks in the dark. This is an album that post-Michael Graves era Misfits fans should be clamoring for, with Sutter Cain’s eloquent and very ominous vocals. Regardless, any cold-blooded Misfits fan of any era should dig the Horror Punk grooves that Out For Blood is chock-full of.
Truth be told, I’ve found this new album from Phantom 13 to be just as good (if not better) than anything Wednesday 13 has put out. I’m very serious about that. I’ll even state that Out For Blood has an impressive notch (or two) more hefty kick in its songs than the Misfits last studio album The Devil’s Rain. Bassist Chuck Black makes certain the Horror stomp and roll tramples all in its path, throughout Out For Blood. Excellent songs all. My favorites are: Voices Of The Dead, the title track, Death Comes Calling and Demon Girl. I can state with clear certainty, that Out For Blood has become an all-time favorite album for me and will appear on the Metal Odyssey Best Of list for 2014. Metal be thy name – Stone.

The nine-song release, featuring singles “I am Nothing” and “SadioWitch,” is also one of the band’s most critically acclaimed to date with Mojo Magazine declaring the album “the most uncompromising album of the year” and Pitchfork saying the album “deserves every accolade thrown its way” and going on to say “they’ve surpassed expectations and proved that they’re still as vital as they ever were.”

Doom Metal legends Electric Wizard visit Fopp to sign copies of their eighth studio album ‘Time to Die’. Limited edition ‘SadioWitch’ 7-inch singles will be available in store.
Electric Wizard release the eagerly anticipated follow-up to 2010’s ‘Black Masses’. ‘Time to Die’ saw the temporary return of original drummer Mark Greening, along with the addition of new bassist, Clayton Burgess. Latest single ‘SadioWitch’ is accompanied by the band’s first music video, created by the mysterious and alluring Shazzula Vultura.
The short film’s content is concisely summarised by frontman Jus Oborn, who describes it as ‘clandestinely filmed scenes of Luciferian depravity.’ The Guardian refer to the album’s tracks as ‘the mutant children of Black Sabbath’s revered blueprint’, while Pitchfork suggest that the track ‘Funeral of Your Mind’ is ‘the garage-rock-tinged psychedelic rocker… that Birmingham’s finest could’ve written if they had stuck with the drugs and off the telly’.
Formed in Wimborne, Dorset, the band bonded over a mutual fascination with Black Sabbath, the occult, horror movies, vintage recording equipment and the 1970s. For over 20 years, Electric Wizard have recorded a series of landmark Metal albums, which amalgamate elements of Sludge, Stoner Metal, Black Metal and Doom. The band have recently performed a series of festival dates across Europe, including ‘Sonisphere’ UK, Portugal’s ‘Reverence Festival Valada’, ‘Hellfest’ in France and ‘Roskilde’ in Denmark.

Old School Death Metallers HORRIFIED have now announced that preorders for their début album are available via their Bandcamp page. The album, Descent Into Putridity, has been picking up interest from the Metal underground, with Void Ritual’s Dan Jackson commenting: “while it borrows some of that Dismember tone, it doesn’t get trapped in the musical clichés of most OSDM.”
HORRIFIED have also released a second song from Descent Into Putridity for sampling, also available on Bandcamp. The title track is a prime specimen of the Swedish and Floridian influences they work into their sound, with a thick rumbling bass underscoring the coarse riffs and hoarse grunts.

Thuringia´s DESERTED FEAR are one of the best Death Metal bands to come out of Germany in years. The band’s 2012 debut My Empire was praised the world over and won them recognition in the European scene as a force to be reckoned with. Kingdom of Worms was recorded in June and July 2014 at Eisensound Studio in Eisenberg (Thuringia / Germany) under the knife of guitarist Gitarrist Fabian Hildebrandt. Medicine Man marks the bands 3rd release with label president Bill Chavis. Both Snake Eyes Seven (2007) and 13 Crows (2010) were released with Bill. “I am very happy to have Cole and company back on-board. Cole and I developed a great friendship from day one. He is a great person and loyal friend to the end, not to mention a prolific riff master and writer. We have worked together for so long it just seems logical for me to be involved with the next Snake Eyes Seven chapter. Cole called and said will you do this, I said when do we start? I discovered Cole and his band years ago but actually turned him down the first few times. It was only after Cole’s non-stop perseverance that I caved in. The first release was OK but 13 Crows was outstanding. I don’t think it caught on but it was a great release. Medicine Man proves to be the best Snake Eyes Seven release yet and judging by the demo material, it will be a game changer.
