New Noise Magazine is now streaming the new single from New Jersey-based ROBOTS AND MONSTERS and their impending Nothing To Fear Nothing To Fight EP.

“Signing Off” is the closing track to the new seven-song record which follows a concept about battling your own mind, and as the band informs us of the track, “By the end of his journey, our anti-hero takes full ownership of his thoughts. In ‘Signing Off,’ we find him embracing the dread, the sadness. He yearns for peace, to ‘leave it all behind.’ Whether that means a physical end or a symbolic end to this internal suffering is up to the listener to decide.”

With its roots tracing to bands including Mucky Pup, The Bloodhound Gang, and more, ROBOTS AND MONSTERS owns a sound that deftly combines the commanding crunch of Metal with the groove, punch, and emotion of Hardcore and post-Hardcore, a trait which finds the band comfortably sharing bills populated with any type of aggressive music.

Their upcoming Nothing To Fear Nothing To Fight EP follows a concept about battling your own mind, the theme backed by high-energy Metal and dosed with old-school Hardcore. The seven-song storyline was recorded at Portrait Recording Studios with engineer John Ferrara, and mastered by Chris Badami, and features art by bassist Bill Bergmann.

ROBOTS AND MONSTERS will independently release the Nothing To Fear Nothing To Fight EP on CD and digital formats September 2nd; preorders are available via the band HERE.

ROBOTS AND MONSTERS continues to book shows through the Summer months in preparation of the new EP, including a show in New London, Connecticut on August 6th, a show in Brooklyn supporting All Out War on August 13th, and more, with more one-off shows and widespread tour dates to be added.

Guitarist Matt Price of Los Angeles Stoner/Doom Metal band BEHOLD! THE MONOLITH has been tapped by ARMORED SAINT to fill in for guitarist Phil Sandoval on three German Festival dates this week. ARMORED SAINT released the following statement on its Facebook page about the temporary replacement:

“We’re sorry to report that our own Phil Sandoval will not be joining us on our European tour next week. He has chosen to stay home and be with his girlfriend while they expect their first child together which is due during this time. We have enlisted the help of guitarist Matt Price from Behold! The Monolith to step up and fill in for Phil for these 3 festivals in Germany. Phil will miss seeing all of you this time but he promises to ‘Deliver’ once he returns for the dates we have booked in the fall. Please help us wish Phil and his girlfriend a positive and safe delivery. Thank you!”

GHOUL – The Masked Malefactors Of Creepsylvania Premiere “Shred The Dead” – Tour With Carcass Underway + “Dungeon Bastards” Release Day Draws Near

Today, the masked malefactors of Creepsylvania GHOUL are pleased to contaminate the airwaves with a premiere of “Shred The Dead” from their forthcoming Dungeon Bastards opus. In “Shred The Dead,” vocalist Baron Samedi’s commands to retrieve the Omicron Bomb fall on deaf ears, as GHOUL retreats deeper into the Catacombs muttering half-hearted assurances; that is, until Samedi unleashes an army of revivified corpses to persuade them otherwise.  

Elaborates guitarist Digestor:“‘Shred The Dead’ is a song about undead fiends, eldritch, mysterious skateboard tricks, and the efficacy of the prevent defense. If Mr. Mustaine is reading this, I’m sure our lawyers can work something out. You seem like a reasonable man.”

New Orleans’ road warriors GOATWHORE will return to the US tour circuit this Fall on a short run of live abrasions prior to and following their Ozzfest appearance in San Bernardino, California on September 24th. The trek will commence on September 16th and rupture fifteen stages through October 1st. Support will be provided by The Blood Royale on select dates. GOATWHORE‘s latest US journey will follow a two-week stretch of European onstage debauchery set to kick off next month.

Sixteen years ago when a new millennium was entered, the Thunderstorm album struck the world, and is today considered a Danish Power Metal cult classic. Seven albums later the band still breathes as vibrantly as ever, and although there’s been various line-up changes, founding member Martin Steene and his sidekick Kirk Backarach pushed the boundaries of the band. In addition to Steene and Kirk, another founding member joined the battlefield, as original drummer Gunnar Olsen rejoined the band in 2015 after 15 years of absence.

Iron Fire is therefore now a three-piece band that still clings to melodic old school Power Metal as it was meant to be played. The music however has not remained still, instead evolving over time: From the dark epic Voyage of the Damned and the Rock n Roll influenced March of the Immortals, to classic power hymns like Wings of Rage. But first and foremost Iron Fire takes Power Metal very literally, as the common denominator in the music is and has always been, power… with a capital P!

At turn of the 21st Century a Chapel of Ass arose from the buckle of shit known as the Bible Belt, Nashville, Tennessee. Built upon the crushed dreams of many aspiring country singers off music row, some local dudes accidentally formed the Satanic thrash rock juggernaut ASSCHAPEL, only to find themselves self-destructing into hell seven years later without a trace… Yet over the course of seven years this sect played all over the Western world, leaving in their wake crippled vans with wheels flying off, shattered heels, broken noses, torn out nipple rings, maxed out credit cards, on-stage arguments, collapsed house show ceilings, everyone’s clothes falling off at the show and more; while impressively avoiding search and arrest from the authorities due to shear body odor coming straight from the dirty south.

Posthumously, members have moved on to the ranks of Pelican, The Swan King, Tijuana Goat Ride, Hans Condor and others, while one of ASSCHAPEL‘s hymns was even featured in a Mazda commercial. This is the legacy which was ASSCHAPEL… Amen.

A Finnish Extreme Metal band Beating Dead Meat signs to Inverse Records. The band released their debut album “A Rude Awakening” in 2015 and it is released digitally on all essential services today July 15th 2016, via inverse Records. At the same time the band announces that they’ll enter the studio and will release the second album later this year, also via inverse Records.

The band comments: “The purpose is to make a more varied album compared to our debut album and maybe bring more diversity in this existing profusion of thrash and melodic death metal.” And some words about cooperation with Inverse Records: “We are very excited with our collaboration with Inverse Records. MEATWOUND – Announces A Rash Of Summer And Fall Live Actions; New Recordings On The Horizon

Florida swamp rats MEATWOUND have locked up a series of live performances throughout the Southeastern region this week, with more shows booked for later in the Summer and Fall months. The band also unveils a vague sense of what’s going on behind closed studio doors with several new recordings penned.

MEATWOUND kicked off their run of live slayings this week with a show on July 8th, in Jacksonville, before transporting their carcasses north for a set at Blood Rust II Fest in Asheville, North Carolina, alongside the likes of Torch Runner, Die Choking, Uninhabitable, Thetan and many others. Following their raid of the fest, MEATWOUND will play in Chapel Hill with Die Choking this Sunday, then later in the week they play Savannah July 13th and Orlando on the 14th. August is already being booked, as the band will support Gruesome and others on the 4th and MEATWOUND is working on a string of shows with Nervous through the Southern states in October preceding their set at the massive The Fest gathering in Gainesville the final weekend of that month.

Uniting members of Combatwoundedveteran, Holy Mountain, Headless Dogs, Primate Research, and others, MEATWOUND‘s dangerous debut LP Addio was recorded with Dan Byer at Rock Garden Recording in St. Petersburg, Florida, mastered by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound, and released in the gross Summer heat of 2015 via Magic Bullet Records. A thundering concoction of 1990s influences culminate in the MEATWOUND sound; the collective’s sound born in a sewage-drenched swamp gutter where the pentatonic, industrialized elements of crushers Fudge Tunnel and Godflesh meet a sordid death metal edge, meshing Sepultura tribalisms with a throbbing Big Black-style hardcore punk infiltrated by scuzzy sci-fi tones.

MEATWOUND is currently cutting the fat on new auditory beef for release in the months ahead, including a new LP for Magic Bullet and more.

OVERKILL is scheduled to enter the studio this month to begin recording the drums for the follow-up to 2014’s “White Devil Armory”, tentatively due in October via Nuclear Blast.

Regarding how OVERKILL approaches the songwriting process nowadays, Blitz told Metal Wani: “What we do is we couple where we came from and where we are. Where we came from is the days of rolling two-inch tape, being in a room together, feeling the music, feeling the walls, sweating… That’s the old-school way of doing. So that’s the way it’s gotta start. But then as it starts developing, we start using more technology. We start using Pro Tools. We go to different studios and we’ll work simultaneously. Dave [Linsk, guitar] will be in Florida doing some guitar leads. I might be in Jersey doing some vocals. D.D. [Verni, bass] might be dropping some bass down at his home studio. So it becomes this really cool process of being able to upload those files at the end of the day, have the other guy pull them down and go, ‘Oh, I see what he’s doing now.’ So we use both. We’re in the room together, and then later on it develops into a wonderful world of Pro Tools and file sharing over Dropbox.”

Blitz also talked about the general musical direction of OVERKILL‘s new material and how it compares to some of the band’s previous efforts. He said: “I never can really tell until it’s done. I mean, that’s always the surprise for me. I know even before we start the record it’s gonna be an OVERKILL record. But when it’s taking shape, I can’t say it feels like this or it feels like that. It’s more the more current OVERKILL. And what I mean by that is that it’s got that ‘Ironbound’, ‘The Electric Age’, ‘White Devil Armory’ feel to it, with the way especially the drums have been written. And I think that’s probably the only characteristic that is solid right now in this opinion, because everything else has changed around, which is kind of cool at this point.”

OVERKILL played a special anniversary show on April 16 at Turbinenhalle 2 in Oberhausen, Germany. The evening saw the band perform their classic records “Horrorscope” (which is celebrating its 25th anniversary) and “Feel The Fire” (30th anniversary) in their entirety. And if that wasn’t enough, the show was professionally filmed and recorded for an upcoming DVD and CD.

OVERKILL utilized a stand-in drummer – their soundman Eddy Garcia, who is also a member of the El Paso, Texas band PISSING RAZORS – for their recent European tour because the band’s regular drummer, Ron Lipnicki, was forced to stay home due to undisclosed family issues.

Garcia previously played with OVERKILL for their appearance on the 2012 edition of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise.

In what promises to be Stryper front-man Michael Sweet’s most intense solo release to date, “One Sided War” showcases a full plate of hard rock & classic metal riffs from start to finish. One Sided War marks Michael’s 7th studio solo album and it clearly proves that he is still at the very top of his game! “I’ll tell you about it”, says Michael, “Musically it’s my heaviest solo album. It’s not thrash metal but there are definitely some songs on there that will pop out at you. There are some songs that have a bit of the Iron Maiden / Dio feel to them, as well as some songs that have a little bit of a Van Halen influence to them. It’s a very guitar-oriented, hard rock/metal album with lots of melodies and hooks!”

Surrounding himself in the studio with Whitesnake guitarist Joel Hoekstra, Evanescence drummer Will Hunt, bassist John O’Boyle and East Coast shred-master Ethan Brosh, Michael began creating what would soon be known as “One Sided War”. Michael states “Originally I planned on showcasing my own guitar playing; I was going to do it all myself, but once I brought Joel & Ethan into the picture, things began to take a new direction and I am very happy with what we have accomplished”. Says Ethan Brosh about working with Michael, “He’s one of those guys who have always been at the top of their game and has just never lost it and for me to be a part of this is very special”. Joel Hoekstra comments “Michael and I actually go back to my time in Night Ranger when we opened for him when he was playing with Boston. Ever since then we’ve just been kind of collaborating and this is sort of a natural evolution getting to play on a few songs on his solo album”.

The fast and furious opener “Bizarre” ignites the album’s pace with its lightning fast riffage, soaring vocals and blazing guitar solos. Tracks like “Can’t Take This Life”, “One Sided War”, “Golden Age”, “I Am” and “Comfort Zone” keep the metal fires ablaze, while tracks like “Radio”, “One Way” and “You Make Me Wanna” bring the hard rock vibe to the forefront . “One Sided War” features only one ballad, “Who Am I?”, a heartfelt, passionate song that reminds us of the softer side of Michael’s talents. Closing out the disc is a bonus track; it’s a different version of the song “Can’t Take This Life”, a duet with Michael and 16-year-old up-and-coming female vocalist Moriah Formica. The Festival will continue on with a theatrical approach – Prog and Symphonic – from the magnificent German band Vanden Plas Official. Their live return to Italy is certainly one of the most anticipated events of the day.

The two headliners will be: Labyrinth – a new Frontiers signing, recently finalized – one of the most successful Italian Metal bands of all time, which will see the return of singer Roberto Tiranti Solo Artist to the line-up, who will offer a live rendition of their classic masterpiece “Return to Heaven Denied” from start to finish, in addition to some of the most acclaimed songs from their storied catalog.

Crystal Ball present the artwork of the upcoming album “Déjà-Voodoo”, created by Thomas Ewerhard!

“The artwork is the perfect symbiosis between the terms déjà-vu and voodoo: Déjà-Voodoo! Our main character, a voodoo doll names Louis, is standing in the water, which mirrors him. The water is symbolic for the subconsciousness here. Louis also wears the CRYSTAL BALL ‘LifeRider’ amulet around his neck, as a personal item. Why LOUIS? Well, keep your guesses coming!”

The album will be released on September 2, 2016 via MASSACRE RECORDS.
