INDUCTION – Signs To Atomic Fire Records – New Band Lineup Revealed

Progressive power metal with symphonic influences creating an epic and heroic atmosphere topped with catchy, soaring vocals, melodic solos, thunderous drums, and massive orchestration (crafted by Peter Crowley): that’s how the soundscapes of international outfit INDUCTION could best be described.

Originally founded in 2014, the band left their first mark with first single, “The Outwitted Consecration” (2016) before officially entering the metal world with their self-titled debut album in 2019. Its enormously positive reception paved the way to touring across Europe alongside Brazilian power metallers Armored Dawn in November of the same year. It was a notable career start for the quintet that was unfortunately halted by the still-ongoing pandemic ultimately leading to a break (at least on the live front) that was to work on their sophomore album and renew their power.

Atomic Fire Records is pleased to welcome INDUCTION and their new lineup — vocalist Craig Cairns (ex-Midnight Prophecy), guitarists Tim Kanoa Hansen and Marcos Rodriguez (ex-Rage), bassist Dominik Gusch, and drummer Kian Kiesling — to its roster.

Comments Hansen of the new union, “I am very pleased to announce today that INDUCTION and Atomic Fire Records are now partnered for musical ventures in the years to come. We are confident that we have found the right partners for our music and vision. Their incredibly capable and experienced team, sharing the passion and love for our music in the same way the band does itself, lets everyone involved look forward to an amazing future where INDUCTION will be elevated to a new level and touch the hearts of many more people with our music.”

Says Atomic Fire Records CEO Flori Milz, “When I got the debut album of the guys two years ago, I was totally excited. At that time, I tried to win the band for my own label Reaper Entertainment, but Reaper was still in its infancy and unfortunately nothing came into being. So, I’m even more happy that the band have now signed a worldwide contract with Atomic Fire Records. I’m still a very big fan and I’m really looking forward to our common future and of course the new album.”

The first fruit of this partnership will be revealed in the form of a new single, “Sacrifice,” on February 4th.

Midwest American Symphonic Metal band SHIELD OF WINGS emerge from their hiatus, and make their thrilling entry into the new year with their debut single, “Wetland”. Vocalist Lara Mordian comments on the “Wetland” filming process:

’Shooting Wetland, and wading through that cold, wet, filth, was a challenging albeit invigorating time for me. Prior to filming in late autumn, I was warned of the certain discomfort to come, but I was reassured by James that “pain is temporary, film is forever”, and I embraced it.”.

Each song from Unfinished explores themes of growth through self-examination, regret, sacrificial death and rebirth. From the “Crushing Hail” of the suffering which is inherent in life, the listener is carried through this journey, until the final track expounds upon the realization that we are all, in ways, “The Scarred Clay Reshaping.” With bold, vast orchestral compositions soaring over chugging guitars, SHIELD OF WINGS makes it abundantly clear that they are Unfinished, in more ways than one.

GRAMMA VEDETTA – Release 8Bit Version Of “The Hum Of The Machine”

The idea was born from Marco’s experiments with the virtual-synth “Super Audio Boy” during the release of the previous EP and it has now become his (and the band’s) tradition to publish the rearranged songs in a version that pays homage to the music of 1980s and ’90s video games.

The artwork was created by Dan as a tribute to the cartridge artwork from Nintendo, Sega and Commodore 64.

Over Opiated in a Forest of Whispering Speakers still features the sounds on which the band made their name (Post Hardcore, Shoegaze, Progressive Rock, and Math Metal), but features some new stylistic touchstones, such as 70’s hard rock, classic rock, and more traditional metal styles. All in all, Over Opiated in a Forest of Whispering Speakers aims to be one of the finest metal albums to be released in 2022 and a career highlight for the band.

Over Opiated in a Forest of Whispering Speakers marks the first time that band founder/songwriter David Cotton wrote lyrics/sang vocals on a Seven Nines and Tens record. The band was never intended to be instrumental and the addition of vocals coupled with the tightest set of songs of their career seems to have elevated the band’s sound to another level. In writing the record the band performed live with a ton of acts including Minus the Bear, Alcest, Pinkish Black, Nothing, Elder, Astronoid, Royal Thunder, and many others. THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS – Dark Operative Releases Deluxe Vinyl Reissue Of Move Along LP

Dark Operative today presents a deluxe vinyl reissue of THE ALL–AMERICAN REJECTS’ Move Along LP.

Move Along is the second studio album from Stillwater, Oklahoma’s THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS. Featuring hits like the title track, “It Ends Tonight,” and “Dirty Little Secret,” this was the album that propelled the band into becoming a household name, achieving RIAA-certified double platinum status, and packing out arenas at the height of a three-year tour cycle that rarely took a break. The album was produced by Howard Benson, recorded by Mike Plotnikoff, mixed by Chris Lord-Alge.

Having had original plans to formally celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2020 with special live performances and premium vinyl reissues, it’s safe to say that nobody saw what was coming for the entirety of the planet’s population for the two years following. Needless to say, plans had to be put on hold.

To hopefully usher in a brighter omen for 2022, Dark Operative is formally issuing Move Along in a hyper-deluxe format featuring rainbow holographic foil, gatefold inserts, metallic inks, on White and Golden Nugget variants. This deluxe reissue is only available direct through Dark Operative, as the label’s distributor sold through all copies ahead of street date.

PLANEPACKED – Announces New Album

Metaltronica project PLANEPACKED will release their new studio album Transactinides on April 8th, 2022. Transactinides is the first full-length release from the band since frontwoman Jessica Kagan’s gender transition and explores the experience of recreating oneself.

Jessica Comments: 

“Transactinides is the 2nd full length album from PLANEPACKED, scheduled to release on April 8th, 2022. It further develops and expands on the metaltronica sound of my debut (Critical Mass). In particular, it includes songs with sung and harsh vocals for the first time in my career. Highly recommended for fans of extreme metal, IDM, prog, and old-school tracker/scenedemo music.”

Drawing musical influences from the likes of AUTECHRE, IGORRR, DEVIN TOWNSEND, and SUSUMU HIRASAWA, the first three tracks on Transactinides are also inspired in various ways by Jessica’s urban fantasy fiction series, Endian Project. PLANEPACKED opens the threshold to a universe of soundscapes, melodies and explorations of the human existence.

Pure, aggressive traditional metal that captures the spirit of NWOBHM for the 21st century! On their self-titled album, Vancouver’s Maule reinvigorates the sounds of the early 1980s with a fresh, energetic twist, making it one of the year’s most exciting debuts!

More than four decades after its arrival, the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) continues to inspire new musicians. Its first wave, of course, helped create thrash and laid the groundwork for the European and North American metal scenes that would take shape throughout the ensuing decade. And while Iron Maiden and Saxon emerged as the unabashed mainstays of the style, bands like Angel Witch, Blitzkrieg, Diamond Head and Tygers of Pan Tang established the core sonic tenants that now live on through bands a generation removed, including Vancouver, British Columbia’s Maule.

Formed in 2017 by rhythm guitarist/vocalist Jakob Weel and bassist Johnny Maule, Maule broke onto the scene in 2019 with their From Hell demo. The five-song offering made waves throughout the metal underground, showcasing a young band with a deft grasp on traditional metal. As it turns out, Johnny Maule and original lead guitarist Daniel Gottardo came from a classical and jazz music background, informing their unique sense of riffs, rhythms and songwriting arrangements. The momentum from the From Hell demo carried the band into 2020 when they began work on what became their eponymous debut, their first release for Gates of Hell Records.

Recorded in February 2020 at Little Red Sounds Studio with producer and engineer Michael Kraushaar, who previously manned the From Hell sessions, Maule’s self-titled debut is an nine-song realization of the band’s sound, stocked with thrash-inspired riffing, anthemic choruses, blazing leads and Weel’s sharp, biting vocal approach that capably handles aggressive and mid-tempo material. (Gottardo played all leads on the album, but has since been replaced by Justin Walker.)

Lyrically, Maule embraces the storytelling philosophy embraced throughout classic metal with tales of life and death, with additional nods to Robert E. Howard and H.P. Lovecraft. The album’s cover art was created by Dave Levi Holland and was based on a sketch from Johnny Maule.

The band comments:“Fear Reigns is a track that means a lot to us. First of all it’s a killer riff and the verse has harmonic vibrations that would remind you of the Twin Peakstheme. The chorus begins with another bad ass groovy riff followed by a more atmospheric part that will speak to anyone who ever liked Deftones. The bridge is an epic melodic part with tight riffin’ and melancholic soundscapes.

The song has been with us for a long time and it still feels fucking awesome to play every time. The crowd also always has a good response to this track.

The lyrics talk about the cracks in the foundation of societies around the world. The ideal of a democracy based on trust is increasingly threatened by more simple means to power such as fear and repression. As the globalization have brought us closer together it has also drawn new battle lines between ideologies. Societies based on ancient traditions and belief collide with capitalistic societies based on the free will of the individual. Cohesiveness is threatened and protectionism becomes stronger.

So some really uplifting themes in that song 🙂 But seriously, we love this song and hope everyone will enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoy playing it.”

Arising from the red metal sands of Central Australia is HELL MACHINE. Equal parts Thrash and Black Metal, the deuce of Dave Hellrazor (Bass/Vocals) and Mal Machine (Drums) are a finely tuned weapon borne of searing desert heat and old-school heavy metal influence.

Creator-Destructor Records presents Oakland, California-based melodic death metal band DARKNESS EVERYWHERE. The new act has completed production on their debut EP, The Seventh Circle, set for release in late February, today unleashing the lead single, “Reign Of Chaos,” alongside the cover art and more.

DARKNESS EVERYWHERE unites vocalist/guitarist/drummer Ben Murray, guitarist Cameron Stucky, and renowned producer engineer Zack Ohren on bass. The band formed in late 2020 with the goal of writing songs heavily influenced by the classic mid-1990s Swedish melodic death metal sound. This isn’t the individual members’ first round around the block when it comes to melodic death metal, as Murray is a founding member of Bay Area band Light This City, and Stucky is a member of symphonic melodic metal act, Crepuscle. Ohren recorded and produced all of Light This City’s albums throughout the past twenty years and continues to be one of the leading metal producers in the industry, having worked with Machine Head, All Shall Perish, and many more.

The glory years of early In Flames, At the Gates, and Dark Tranquillity are what largely inform the sound and aesthetic of DARKNESS EVERYWHERE. The core of the band is built on the feel of those legendary records, while offering a refreshing take on the no frills melodic death metal sound akin to the output of modern outfits Darkest Hour, The Haunted, and God Forbid. The band wastes no time in getting to the point of melodic death metal riffing and driving, thrashing tempos.

The Seventh Circle refers to the Dante’s Seventh Layer Of Hell, where acts of violence in life are punished in death. The endless torture inflicted upon human souls for their past sins of hatred is an all-consuming reality in the lyrical themes of the seven songs that comprise DARKNESS EVERYWHERE’s debut EP. The record was recorded in late 2020 at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, engineered and produced by Zack Ohren, and completed with cover artwork by Samuel Nelson. Additionally, The Seventh Circle features guest vocals from Laura Nichol (Light This City) on “Survival Of The Sun,” John Henry (Darkest Hour) on “The Grand Impact,” and X on “The Seventh Circle.”

The lead single from DARKNESS EVERYWHERE and The Seventh Circle, “Reign Of Chaos,” is now playing at all digital streaming services including YouTube HERE and Bandcamp HERE.

Black Metal Project TORII Releases Self-TItled Album

The new, self-titled album from apocalyptic black/death metal project TORII is out now on CD and digital formats.

Though black and death metal are core elements, the basic description doesn’t quite capture the breadth of the music, colored as it is with post-metal grays and streaks of doom. Ingrian Backgrounded Industrial Artist Aleksander Susi Releases New Single In Russian Language

Aleksander Susi (a.k.a. Aleksi Susi, i.a. ex-2wolves, ex-Scent of Flesh, Alexanred) has released his newest single and for the first time in Russian language. He has Ingrian background and in 1990, as a child, moved from Russia to Finland with his parents.

For years he has been active as a solo-artist nowadays, releasing regularly his Industrial Metal influenced music.

The latest song “Он не такой”, simply translated as “He is different”, is about a young man, a free soul, who goes his own path in his life.

The Imperial Princess and her crew of Aussie rockers lord over eight love songs that prove few can push the boundaries of rock and metal like The Neptune Power Federation!

Heading into the creation of their fifth studio album, Le Demon De L’Amour, Australian psychedelic rock and roll brigade The Neptune Power Federation couldn’t let go of the fact that love songs had been commandeered, in their words, by “soft rockers, bedwetters and the introvert crowd.” Whereas rock had its glory period during the 1970s and 80s, the art of the love song is now lost within heavier music. Few bands are now willing to venture into such territory — metal and rock have settled comfortably into typical, predictable lyrical tropes that fail to pull at the heartstrings the way they used to. On Le Demon De L’Amour, The Neptune Power Federation reclaims the art of the love song as their own.

Off the heels of their acclaimed 2019 Memoirs of a Rat Queen studio album, the members of The Neptune Power Federation utilized the unexpected downtime afforded from the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic to craft an album that takes more chances than its predecessor. While the band’s trademark rock swagger and prog tendencies still come into play, Le Demonups the voltage and energy. True, there is a multitude of genre-blurring taking place, but the album’s infectious choruses and leaden riffs easily re-imagine metal and rock’s glory eras without blatant thievery.

Of course, all roads to The Neptune Power Federation run through lead vocalist Screamin’ Loz Sutch and her stage persona, “The Imperial Priestess.” Le Demon’s eight cuts find the indomitable frontwoman in top form, belting out tales of love from a female’s perspective, weaving in stories of cult worship, murder and hypnotism. The album’s artwork (created by guitarist Inverted CruciFox) also introduces her new nemesis — The Wizzard Princess.

Recorded at bass player JayTanic Ritual’s The Ped Food Factory in Marrickville, Sydney, with mixing duties provided by Clem Bennett, Le Demon De L’Amourleads The Neptune Power Federation into their tenth anniversary next year. Their journey has taken them from the sweaty clubs of Sydney to a global audience. “2021 wasn’t an easy year. We released new studio album “The Cult”, but we managed to play literally 3 live shows only, as our other festival appearances and the European Tour on which we were supposed to promote new album were either postponed or cancelled. So instead, we did few new studio recordings, including full #RockOutSessions recording, where we played 4 songs from “The Cult” in the live, stripped down versions. We decided to release the video version for free – it’s our way of saying thank you to all the fans who are supporting us in those weird times, who bought the new album. The same material will be later released as Side-B of our special Mini Album, which will be released in the next few months, and which will include few rather big surprises!”.

CRYSTAL VIPER’s latest studio album “The Cult”, as well as Marta Gabriel’s first solo album “Metal Queens” were released in 2021 by Listenable Records.

CELTIC HILLS – Reveal Tracklisting And Artwork Story Of Upcoming Album “Huldufólk”

“Huldufólk” is the new album by Italian legendary Speed/thrash metallers CELTIC HILLS, the band continues to tell and describe their land, but the intention of this new work is to walk the road in a different way! “Huldufólk” is coming out in 2022 via Elevate Records.

A record in the balance between the enchanted world of legends, heroic deeds performed by people who wanted a better world. The drummer Simone Cescutti after this job leaves the band to pursue a career as a singer and guitarist with his own band! So, to greet his fans, he sings a song called “Living out of the Egg”. The other texts dedicated to the history of Friuli are “After the Earthquake” which speaks of the strength and courage of the Friulian people in rebuilding the territory devastated by the earthquake of 6 May 1976. “The Gate of Hollow Earth” tells of the legends of the mountains behind the city of Pordenone where there would be a secret entrance to the hollow earth.

The album ends with the track “Villacher Kirktag” which tells of the Beer Festival in the city of Villach in Austria where every first Saturday of August Friulian boys go to party getting drunk and harassing beautiful Austrian girls! The text is sung in English with “notations” in Friulian and Austrian.

The album was produced also this time by Michele Guaitoli singer of Temperance and Vision of Atlantis in the studios of the Groove Factory in Udine and for the realization of the cover again the talented Sheila Franco.

Just recently was announced the guest guitarist, Gabriele Pala (Karnak, Azure Agony, Goldenseed), playing two solos in the album for the songs ‘Green Forest’ and ‘Gate of Hollow Earth’. In addition to being a very good guitarist, Gabriele is an expert connoisseur of Chapman Stick, an instrument played with the tapping technique.

Earlier Jonathan revealed on “Huldufólk”:
“Again this time we will talk about Friuli, and the theory is at work that the location of the American Air Force Base Aviano is used to control an ancient access to the underground world, which has been used by the pagan gods since ancient times. The magical rites of the inhabitants of the mountains and the places where elves, fairies and gnomes once lived among the people are revealed. There are already definitive titles such as The Sound of the Earth in F sharp minor. A text tells how you can use the beneficial energy of the trees at dawn to strengthen your energies, but there will be no lack of historical events that accompany every CELTIC HILLS album.”

2021 was a very positive year for CELTIC HILLS! The reviews of the ‘Mystai Keltoy’ album have been many, published on the major world newspapers and all with an average rating of around 9.
