USURPRESS – Full Debut LP Streaming Now Via Stereokiller

Following their In Permanent Twilight MCD released this Spring, the crushing debut LP from cult Swedish Death Metal henchmen USURPRESS is out now via Selfmadegod. Trenches Of The Netherworld contains eleven soul-reaping circle-pit anthems utilizing the band’s seemingly patented blend of Death Metal and d-beat/crust punk influences.

Uppsala-based USURPRESS features the steamrolling flair of four members of the Swedish Punk/Metal underworld including vocalist Stefan “Steffe” Pettersson (Diskonto, Uncurbed), bassist Daniel Ekeroth (ex-Tyrant, ex-Dellamorte, author of Swedish Death Metal book), drummer Calle Andersson and guitarist Påhl (ex-Blotseraph, ex-Shuriken). The cover art for Trenches Of The Netherworld was crafted by by Rafal Kruszyk (Interment, Hooded Menace, Deceased, Paganizer, etc.).

ZOMBIEFICATION – New EP Streaming In Its Entirety At Apoch’s Metal Review

In a sinister collaboration with Apoch’s Metal Review, Reaper’s Consecration, the latest EP from Mexican corpse-walkers ZOMBIEFICATION, is currently streaming in its entirety at THIS LOCATION through Sunday. Smell the carrion, if you dare! 

Having risen from the grave in 2009 following the release of their debut, Midnight Stench, ZOMBIEFICATION wasted no time in concocting a venomous brew that makes up Reaper’s Consecration. Scheduled for a North American takeover via Pulverised Records on August 14, 2012, the EP was mixed and mastered at Necromorbus Studios (Watain, Interment, Demonical, etc.) in Sweden and features artwork/layout direction by ZOMBIEFICATION throat Mr. Hitch. Reaper’s Consecration spews five tracks of somber Swedified riffage and a fetid, old-school Death Metal soul; a ghoulishly appetizing platter of filth for true worshippers of the undead!

NILE – “At The Gate Of Sethu” Hits The Charts!

Wanna See My MISFITS (Promotional) Drinking Coaster? It’s Really Cool…

MISFITS – That’s the front side of this cool Misfits (promotional) drinking coaster! This coaster came inside the jewel case of: MISFITS Meet The Nutley Brass / Fiend Club Lounge. The front side of this coaster depicts the actual album cover. Since this collectible Misfits item came inside the CD, I consider it a promotional piece.

This Misfits album was released back in 2005, on MISFITS Records / RYKO. Unfortunately, this album has seen it’s share of harsh reviews, although there have been positive reviews as well. This wasn’t a Misfits album where they perform the music heard; instead all the songs are Misfits cover songs performed by The Nutley Brass. To sum up the sound of this album, think Tijuana Brass.

I understand the music is a huge detour from what fans expect from a Misfits album, still, I’ve listened to it and it’s not the end of the world. It’s different. Like Lenny Wolf of Kingdom Come would say: “it is what it is”.
