On This Day In METAL History – December 16th… And A Rockin’ Birthday Salute To Billy Gibbons!

On December 16th, 1966 – The Jimi Hendrix Experience releases their single Hey Joe in England. This song is featured on their debut studio album from 1966: Are You Experienced?.

On this day in 1976 – Foghat and Ted Nugent performed at the Riverfront Coliseum, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Foghat were touring in support of their sixth studio album: Night Shift. Ted Nugent was touring in support of his second studio album: Free-For-All. Whoa!

On December 16th, 1977 – Detective, The Edgar Winter Group and Blue Öyster Cult performed at the Riverfront Coliseum, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Blue Öyster Cult were touring in support of their fourth studio album from 1976: Agents Of Fortune.

On this day in 1989 – KIX hits #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with their power ballad: Don’t Close Your Eyes. This song is featured on the fourth studio album from KIX, released in 1988: Blow My Fuse.

On December 16th, 1989 – Whitesnake peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart with Slip Of The Tongue. This studio album was their second release to land in the Billboard Top 10 Albums Chart. Slip Of The Tongue was the eighth studio album from Whitesnake. Metal be thy name!

On this day in 1989 – Bon Jovi hits #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with Living in Sin. This song is featured on Bon Jovi’s fourth studio album, released in 1988: New Jersey. Living In Sin was the fifth hit song to reach the Billboard Top 10, from the New Jersey album.

BILLY GIBBONS

On December 16th, 1949, Billy Gibbons was born in Houston, Texas. Happy Rockin’ birthday, Billy! Hell, yeah and whoa! Billy Gibbons is world-famous for being an outstanding and influential guitarist for the legendary ZZ Top. As a founding member of ZZ Top, Billy Gibbons is also their lead vocalist and co-songwriter. Billy Gibbons is such an exceptional guitarist that even the late and ultra great Jimi Hendrix was a fan of his. It’s historic Rock And Roll truth.

Billy Gibbons’ first successful band was Moving Sidewalks, a Psychedelic Rock band that supported The Jimi Hendrix Experience on their 1968 Are You Experienced tour for a handful of dates. A recent Moving Sidewalks reunion took place in 2013, as they performed as headliners at the 2013 Austin Psyche Fest in Austin, Texas.

With bluesy Rock as their calling card, ZZ Top eventually evolved into a Hard Rock juggernaut during the 1980’s, selling-out arenas everywhere you looked. The blues have never left ZZ Top and thankfully so. ZZ Top were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, back in 2004.

Lamentations Of The Ashen Announce New Album Release Date

Libertine Cyst To Release On January 20, 2015

LAMENTATIONS OF THE ASHEN, the blackened Doom Metal project of Bon Vincent Fry, will release their long-awaited album Libertine Cyst on January 20 2015.

Consisting of four epic tracks, Libertine Cyst is the follow-up to 2011’s EKIMMV. In regards to the album, Bon has released the following statement:

“Finally, after 3 years, I am pleased to present my 3rd full-length album, ‘Libertine Cyst’ to the world. This album was the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do musically. I was dealt an endless amount of obstacles (some self-created) which constantly resulted in delaying my progress. I feel that this record stands as a testament that the path of maximum resistance produces a more thoroughly honed work of art. I think the material contained here marks a new height in my song writing and atmosphere for this project. It’s hard to express how pleased and relieved I am to finally have this behind me and shift my gaze even further into the blackness beyond the stars. This is where it ends for me, and starts for everyone else.”

On December 15th, 1979 – The Who performed a concert at the New Haven Coliseum, in New Haven, Connecticut.

On this day in 1993 – The biographical/war and dramatic film Schindler’s List was released to wide-screen theaters in the United States, via Universal Pictures. Schindler’s List was directed and co-produced by Steven Spielberg. This film stars Liam Neeson and Ben Kingsley.

Schindler’s List was the recipient of seven Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Score. Altogether, there were twelve Academy Award nominations for Schindler’s List.

On This Day In METAL History – December 14th… And A METAL Birthday Salute To Cliff Williams!

On December 14th, 1974 – Styx re-released their song Lady, becoming their first top ten hit in the United States, peaking at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Lady is originally featured on the second studio album from Styx, released in 1973: Styx II.

On this day in 1984 – Written and directed by David Lynch, the epic Science Fiction film Dune released to wide-screen theaters, via Universal. The cast included: Francesca Annis, Leonardo Cimino, Brad Dourif and José Ferrer. The executive producer was Dino De Laurentiis. Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner aka Sting also starred in Dune.

On December 14th, 1988 – Robert Plant performed live at the Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati, Ohio. Joan Jett & The Blackhearts were the opening band. Whoa! Robert Plant was touring in support of his fourth solo studio album, released in 1988: Now And Zen.

On this day in 2003 – Ozzy Osbourne reached the top of the UK Singles Chart for the first time, with a cover of Black Sabbath’s song Changes. This song was re-recorded as a duet with his daughter Kelly Osbourne.

CLIFF WILLIAMS

Born on December 14th, 1949 in England was Cliff Williams. Happy Rockin’ birthday, Cliff! Yeah, man! Cliff Williams is universally known as a current/long-time member, bassist and backing vocalist for the iconic AC/DC.

The first AC/DC studio album Cliff Williams performed on was 1978’s Powerage; the rest is incredible AC/DC history! AC/DC were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, back in 2003. Metal be thy name!

The brand new studio album from AC/DC, Rock Or Bust, was released on December 2nd, 2014. Yes, this new AC/DC album kicks Heavy Rockin’ ass. ‘Nuff said.

On December 13th, 1966 – The Jimi Hendrix Experience recorded their song Foxy Lady. On this same day, they made their first TV appearance on the British television show: Ready Steady Go. Foxy Lady is featured on the iconic debut album from the Jimi Hendrix Experience: Are You Experienced, released in 1967.

On this day in 1986 – Billy Idol peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, with his third full-length studio album: Whiplash Smile. This album went on to achieve Platinum status in the United States.

Vinnie Moore – Meltdown

RUSH – Roll The Bones

On December 13th, 1991 – Guitar virtuoso Vinnie Moore opened for the legendary RUSH at the Hartford Civic Center, in Hartford, Connecticut. Vinnie Moore was touring in support of his third solo album from 1991: Meltdown. This was one of many concert dates on the Roll The Bones Tour for RUSH. Roll The Bones was the fourteenth studio album released by the Canadian Rock legends.

On this day in 1993 – Guitarist Slash joined Billy Joel onstage, to lend a solo to the song shameless, during a concert at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. Whoa!

On December 13th, 1996 – The Science Fiction/Comedy, Tim Burton directed Mars Attacks! was released to wide-screen theaters, via Warner Bros. Pictures. This film boasts a legendary cast of: Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close, Annette Bening, Pierce Brosnan, Danny DeVito, Michael J. Fox, Sarah Jessica Parker, Martin Short and even… the legendary Tom Jones. Whoa, man! Mars Attacks! is… Metal.

TED NUGENT

Born on December 13th, 1948 was Ted Nugent. Happy Rockin’ birthday, Ted! Yeah and whoa! The Motor City Madman has been electrifying his fans with his dazzling array of guitar licks, tricks and memorable riffs. With 14 solo studio albums and more than several live albums to his credit, Ted Nugent has spanned across five decades, playing his unique style of Rock N’ Roll.

Spanning the Ted Nugent discography, many great lead singers were featured, such as: Meatloaf, Derek St. Holmes, Brian Howe and a lead vocal one song/cameo on 2014’s Shutup & Jam! by Sammy Hagar. Metal be thy name!

Ted Nugent began his road to Rockin’ fame as the lead guitarist for Detroit’s very own: The Amboy Dukes. Ted Nugent was also a co-founder of the Hard Rock supergroup: Damn Yankees. With guitarist Tommy Shaw, Jack Blades on bass and drummer Michael Cartellone, Damn Yankees were born. With 2 studio albums released from 1990 to 1992, Damn Yankees were a favorite of MTV and FM radio, with five music videos and nine hit singles.

On December 12th, 1970 – The Doors performed their final concert (with their original lineup), in New Orleans, Louisiana, at The Warehouse. The Doors were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, in 1993. Rest in peace, Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek.

On this day in 1985 – MTV was being broadcasted into 25,805,000 homes. This was back during a time when MTV had legitimacy and acknowledged real heavy and classic Rock N’ Roll.

On December 12th, 1986 – The comedy motion picture !Three Amigos! was released, via Orion Pictures to wide-screen theaters. !Three Amigos! stars 3 of the modern era’s funniest men: Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short. This film was written by: Lorne Michaels, Steve Martin and Randy Newman. John Landis was the director.

On December 12th, 1989 – The mighty MANOWAR perform a concert at International II, in Manchester, England. This was one of many dates on MANOWAR’s Kings Of Metal World Tour. MANOWAR were touring in support of their very cool and sixth studio album, released in 1988: Kings Of Metal.

On this day in 1992 – Florida’s Saigon Kick hits #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with their power ballad Love Is On the Way. This song is featured on Saigon Kick’s second studio album released in 1992: The Lizard.

BRUCE KULICK

On December 12th, 1953, Bruce Kulick was born. Happy birthday, Bruce! Whoa and yeah! Bruce Kulick is famously known as a former guitarist for the iconic KISS, during an arena era when KISS didn’t use character makeup or costumes.

Bruce Kulick spent twelve years as a member of KISS, playing lead guitar on their following albums: Asylum (1985), Crazy Nights (1987), Hot In The Shade (1989), Revenge (1992), KISS ALIVE III (1993), KISS Unplugged (1996) and Carnival Of Souls: The Final Sessions (1997).

Bruce Kulick is also featured on nine (official) KISS video albums, with release dates ranging from 1985 to 2007. For the Smashes, Thrashes & Hits album from 1988, Bruce plays lead guitar on Let’s Put The X In Sex and (You Make Me) Rock Hard.

As a current guitarist for the legendary Grand Funk Railroad, the Rock N’ Roll resume of Bruce Kulick is astonishing! Bruce played on three Michael Bolton studio album during the 80’s along with Billy Squier’s album The Tale Of The Tape from 1980. Bruce Kulick (along with his brother Bob) was also a member of the touring band for Meatloaf’s Bat Out Of Hell studio album from 1977. Bruce has recorded with Michael Schenker, Avantasia, Gene Simmons and Graham Bonnet, among a host of others.

Bruce co-founded the Hard Rock supergroup Union, back in 1997, which featured vocalist John Corabi. Union released two studio album before disbanding. Three solo studio albums have been released by Bruce Kulick: Audio Dog (2001), Transformer (2003) and BK3 (2010). Metal be thy name, Bruce Kulick Rocks!

HELLION – 2014 Recap and 2015 Updates, Courtesy Of Ann Boleyn

Hi Friends,

Sorry for the delay in posting news. It’s been a crazy few weeks ever since returning from tour!

As, many of you know, in addition to being the singer of Hellion, and of running New Renaissance, I am also an attorney. I was back to work, and in court on the following Monday after the tour. However, a lot of work has now paid off with the successful resolution of a major case. Now its time to get back to working on more creative endeavors and on planning for a great 2015.

In between all of that, Hellion released our first official video in over a decade. The video is of our new song, Betrayer, and includes fan-filmed video from our shows in Toronto, Los Angeles, Boise, Seattle, and a few more cities. If you haven’t already seen it, check it out here. (Or below):

Maxxxwell Carlisle, Simon Wright, and myself are already writing new music. I will also be singing a cover-version of a Scorpions song on Max’s new solo CD. I will be recording the vocal track for that in the next week or two.

Hellion also recorded the shows from the recent Hellion tour. So, over the holidays, we will be mixing those tracks and will eventually release them on a live CD.

As far as live shows, Hellion will be playing May 9, 2015 at the Arcadia Theater in St. Charles, IL with Y&T and Quiet Riot. More US shows will be added, too in 2015. We will also be doing shows in Europe and the UK. In fact, we have bookings now through 2016. Due to our contracts with some of the promoters, I can’t announce some of the shows until the promoters officially announce them.

2014 has been a very productive year. We released two new CDs: (1) Hellion’s “To Hellion & Back” 2-CD anthology; and, (2) “Karma’s A Bitch.” Both CDs are available at all major outlets. We did our first tour in North America, as well.

Both myself and the band have a lot in store for 2015. We will be releasing our first vinyl releases in over a decade soon (in limited edition). We will have a new live album, some more re-releases, and of course new music for you, too.

I am also going to start work on a book. The book will be entitled “The Art of Singing Loud.” The book will focus on the unique challenges that are faced by singers of hard rock, thrash, metal, punk, etc. An important part of this book will include interviews from well-respected singers, I have already received commitments from a number of great singers and will be announcing more details in the coming weeks.

On This Day In METAL History – December 11th – And METAL Birthday Salutes To Nikki Sixx And Zacky Vengeance. Whoa!

On December 11th, 1982 – Billy Idol made his American Bandstand debut, where he performed his hits Hot in the City and White Wedding. Whoa, man! Above photo credit: American Bandstand.

On this day in 1987 – Comedy/Dark Comedy film Throw Momma From The Train was released to wide-screen theaters, via Orion Pictures. This film stars two of the funniest men of our time, with Danny DeVito and Billy Crystal. Kim Greist and (the late) Anne Ramsey (as Momma) also star.

On December 11th, 1991 – The fantasy film Hook was released to wide-screen theaters, via TriStar. The legendary Steven Spielberg directed this holiday season box office smash, as it starred the great and late Robin Williams as Peter Banning and Peter Pan. Dustin Hoffman portrayed Captain Hook and Julia Roberts portrayed Tinker Bell. The screenplay for Hook was written by James Hart and Malia Marmo.

On this day in 1993 – Guns N’ Roses entered the Billboard 200 Albums Chart at #4 with their covers album “The Spaghetti Incident?”. This would mark their last album to feature original members Slash on guitar and Duff McKagan on bass.

On December 11th, 2007 – Avenged Sevenfold performed a concert at the Rainbow Ballroom in Fresno, California. A7X were touring is support of their self-titled and 4th studio album.

NIKKI SIXX

Born on December 11th, 1958 was Nikki Sixx. Happy birthday, Nikki! Whoa! Nikki Sixx, a native Californian, is world-famous as the bass guitarist, songwriter and co-founding member of the super legendary Mötley Crüe. With 9 studio albums, several live albums and countless touring since 1981, Mötley Crüe have influenced and amazed fans of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. Mötley Crüe’s very successful farewell tour has taken place for the better part of 2014.

Nikki Sixx has also seen his Hard Rock band Sixx:A.M. skyrocket, with fellow members band members James Michael and DJ Ashba. Sixx:A.M. have released three studio albums since 2007, with all three albums charting world-wide. The newly released Sixx:A.M. studio album is: Modern Vintage. This new album has peaked at #20 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, during 2014.

Nikki Sixx also boasts his highly successful nationally syndicated radio show: Sixx Sense.

Other notable bands that Nikki Sixx is a former member of: Brides Of Destruction, London, Sister and 58. Metal be thy name!

ZACKY VENGEANCE

Zacky Vengeance was born on December 11th, 1981, in Olympia, Washington. Happy birthday, Zacky! Yeah! Zacky Vengeance is globally famous as the co-founding member and rhythm guitarist for the powerful Avenged Sevenfold. As a self-taught and left-handed guitarist, Zacky Vengeance is also a co-songwriter and backing vocalist for A7X.

A7X have recorded six studio albums and one live album since 2001 and I personally credit this band for keeping the flame of Heavy Metal burning strong, during the Millennium Decade. One of the first band’s that Zacky was a member of was Society Down; a Crust/Punk band. Another pre-A7X band Zacky was a member of was Mad Porno Action aka MPA.

SAXON – Postpones UK Tour Due To Sudden Illness Of Drummer Nigel Glocker

Saxon regret to inform UK fans that the remaining tour dates have been postponed due to Nigel Glocker’s health issues. The drummer was rushed to the hospital on Monday night; more details will follow as soon as available.

Biff Byford says: “Devastating news that our friend and drummer Nigel has been taken ill. We have to postpone all shows until we find out more. He has been taken to hospital in Newcastle. All our thoughts are with Nigel and his family.”

Biff Byford later wrote: “Nigel our friend and brother is in the hospital in the UK having tests to find a bleed on his brain. He is up and talking but he says he has a ball crushing headache. I will pass all your messages on to Gina, Nigel’s wife and we all pray that Nige can pull through this! At the moment all shows have been re scheduled to 3/4/5/6/7 of February 2015” – Biff

The UK dates were due to be the culmination of 38-date European tour “Warriors of the Road” celebrating their 35th Anniversary. The set list featured tracks from what is known to the fans as ‘The Holy Trinity’ – Saxon’s seminal albums Wheels of Steel, Strong Arm of the Law and Denim and Leather.

The following shows are re-scheduled as follows: Tickets are valid for the new dates.

IRON MAIDEN – Infinite Dreams (Live) 12″ Vinyl From November 1989 – A Look Back On A Classic

This single (Infinite Dreams Live) reached #6 in the UK singles chart and was the band’s fourth Top 10 single from the Seventh Son album, the other positions being 3, 5 and 6. The video for this single was filmed at Birmingham NEC in November 1988 on the final leg of the Seventh Son Tour.

The full concert was also released the same month on longform vhs entitled Maiden England, and reissued for the first time on DVD in 2013. The b-side (Killers ’88) was the first official release of Killers being sung by Bruce.

Stone Says: I never owned this 12″ single of Infinite Dreams (Live), however, I did once own the (1989) die-cut picture disc of it! My late sister, Christine, had bought me the picture disc as a Christmas gift. God rest her soul. Sadly, I sold it about a dozen years ago or so, during a time when I was very broke and needed cash for necessities. This cool picture disc was an import from the UK. See photo below, as it is a very rare die-cut picture disc at that! As the late and great Frank Sinatra would sing… That’s Life.

On This Day In METAL History – December 10th…

On December 10th, 1983 – The incredible IRON MAIDEN performed a concert at Walter-Köbel-Halle in Rüsselsheim, Germany. IRON MAIDEN were on their World Piece Tour supporting their fourth studio album: Piece Of Mind.

On this day in 1983 – Ozzy Osbourne hits #24 in the United Kingdom with his third solo studio album: Bark at the Moon. This was the first Ozzy Osbourne album to feature guitarist Jake E. Lee. Sadly, this is Ozzy Osbourne’s first album without the great Randy Rhoads, due to his tragic death in 1982.

On December 10, 1988 – The Sammy Hagar fronted Van Halen hits #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with Finish What Ya Started. This hit is featured on Van Halen’s eighth studio album from 1988: OU812. This studio album was the second to feature Sammy Hager, following 5150 from 1986. Pictured above is the CD single cover sleeve for Finish What Ya Started.

On this day in 1993 – The comedy film Wayne’s World 2, the sequel to 1992’s box office smash Wayne’s World, was released to the wide-screen theaters. Mike Myers portrays Wayne Campbell and Dana Carvey portrays Garth Algar. Both the Wayne and Garth characters were originated and portrayed on Saturday Night Live.

Both hilarious actors are surrounded by a cast which includes: Christopher Walken, Tia Carrere, Kim Basinger, Chris Farley and Kevin Pollack, among others.

Cameos abound in this film, with the likes of: Aerosmith, Heather Locklear, Jay Leno and Rip Taylor, among other famous notables. Wayne’s World 2, as its predecessor is… Metal.

On December 10th, 2007 – The iconic Led Zeppelin performed their first concert in 19 years at London’s O2 Arena.  Jason Bonham was the drummer, filling for his father, the late John Bonham. One million (plus) fans applied for a chance at the 9,000 pairs of tickets.

On This Day In METAL History – December 9th…

On December 9th, 1967 – Disraeli Gears, the second studio album from the legendary Cream enters the U.S. charts. This album would eventually hit #1 in the United States. Rest in peace, Jack Bruce.

On this day in 1983 – The Horror film Christine was released to wide-screen theaters. The screenplay for Christine was written by Bill Phillips and directed by the great John Carpenter. The cast included: Keith Gordon, John Stockwell, Alexandra Paul and Harry Dean Stanton. Bad to the Bone from George Thorogood and The Destroyers was one of many songs used during the film. On December 9th, 1988 – The comedy film Twins was released to wide-screen theaters, via Universal. The all-star cast included: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito, Kelly Preston and Chloe Webb. Twins was directed by Ivan Reitman. Twins is… Metal.

On this day in 2011 – Motörhead performs a concert at Lisebergshallen in Gothenburg, Sweden. This was one of many stops on Motörhead’s The Wörld is Yours Tour. Long live the grand Motörhead.

On December 9th, 1991 – Guns N’ Roses made their debut at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in the first of a three night sold-out stand. Guns N’ Roses drew over 54,000 fans and grossed over $1.3 million (U.S. dollars). That’s a lot of pizza and root beer money.

On this day in 2011 – The great ICED EARTH perform a concert at Eventhalle in Geiselwind, Germany. This performance from ICED EARTH was part of the Christmas Metal Festival 2011 and on the band’s World Dystopia Tour 2011-2012.

On December 9th, 2014 – The mighty Machine Head perform a concert at Guildhall in Portsmouth, England. Machine Head are touring in support of their new studio album: Bloodstone & Diamonds. Metal be thy name.

KOUZIN BEDLAM – Debut Album “Longing For The Incomplete” Is Available Now!

Kouzin Bedlam is a baroque painting painted in the colors of Heavy Metal. It is highly technical and deeply embedded in mythology; it is sometimes over the top, yet always lyrical and sublime. Its extraordinary qualities lie not just in terms of song writing and technical ability. In fact, Kouzin Bedlam is not just a band; it is a philosophy, it is a family; it is psychology and spirituality expressed in a musical extravaganza with surprising depths.

Carl Gustav Jung uncovered the archetypes dwelling in our collective unconscious. Our image of a great mother, the devil, God, the trickster and the hero all sit deep inside our minds. And then there is Kouzin Bedlam – the unknown twin, the uncivilized ”I”, we all try to ignore. The band’s debut album, Longing for the Incomplete (produced by Jimmy Westerlund), releases this being upon the conscious world. Kouzin Bedlam does its entrance in a blaze of virtuosic Heavy Metal, at times highly aggressive, at others bittersweet and melancholic. Lyrically it does everything from cursing its very existence to learning how to breathe.

As mentioned, Kouzin Bedlam has so far been unknown to the world of conscious human thoughts, but the members of the band are all experienced musicians, artists and doomsday philosophers.

DORO “All We Are: The Fight” EP Is – Stone’s METAL Pick Of The Day!

DORO All We Are: The Fight EP was released back on May 25th, 2007, via AFM Records. This tidy EP of five songs are Heavy Metal bliss to my ears and Doro Pesch is (as always) alluring on vocals. I was in the Metal mood today for DORO and this EP I listened to multiple times to satisfy my Metal spirit. I purchased this DORO EP on iTunes a few years ago and would love to eventually get my hands on the physical CD as well. You just cannot take the old school out of me, praise the Metal Gods for that.

I’m not certain if this EP was ever released on vinyl; if so, I would want the vinyl version! Whoa. The re-recording of DORO’s Heavy Metal anthem All We Are is the opener and never ceases to give me those always welcomed Metal chills. Oh, sweet molasses, yeah. All We Are was originally released on the 1987 Warlock studio album: Triumph And Agony. That said album was the fourth and final release from the great Warlock.

Thunderspell is an outright jewel of a song; it is a Heavy Metal accomplishment in my Metal opinion and Doro Pesch is untouchable singing it. Her band is nothing short of excellent (of course) on this EP, musically lifting the powerful vocals of Doro Pesch into the Heavy Metal stratosphere! The one ballad on this EP is Everything’s Lost and it’s moving and emotionally driven, courtesy of Doro’s vocals, inspirational guitar solo and intermittent piano notes.

On My Own is a duet featuring Doro Pesch and the great Marc Storace of KROKUS fame. Call it a power ballad that Rocks my face off. ‘Nuff said. The one cover song is Babe I’m Gonna Leave You, originally recorded as a Folk song by Anne Bredon in the late 1950’s.The legendary Joan Baez later covered this song in 1963 and the iconic Led Zeppelin turned it into a classic on their 1969 debut and self-titled album. Doro Pesch makes this song her own, please excuse the cliché. Seriously, I love the way Doro Pesch approached this Rock classic, nothing is watered down and the emotion of the song remains exactly intact. Yes, it Rocks.

This EP has (the near hidden) subtitle: A Tribute to Regina Halmich. The version of the re-recorded title track All We Are was originally performed March 30th, 2006 on television in Germany, as the pump-you-up entrance song for Doro’s close friend, German boxing champion Regina Halmich. Great stuff and Metal be thy name. – Stone

ARBITRATOR is a project that began in late 2010 as the brainchild of Robert Kukla and officially debut in 2011 with the EP ‘The Consummate Ascendancy’ with former drummer Corey Chernesky. Now, determined to release a full-length to top “TCA“, Kukla on rhythm guitar, bass and vocals has written the band’s first album with a whole new arsenal of musicians that includes drummer Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork, ex-Devin Townsend Project, ex-Aborted), Myles Malloy on lead guitar and Connor ORT Linning for programming.

The planned 2015 release will be entitled ‘Indoctrination of Sacrilege’ and was produced by Sacha Laskow (ex-Divinity, Every Hour Kills), mastered by ens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy), Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy), along with album artwork done by Colin Marks (Exodus, Scar Symmetry, Jeff Loomis).
