WARFATHER has announced a September 16 release date on Greyhaze Records for sophomore album The Grey Eminence. Featuring Steve Tucker (MORBID ANGEL), WARFATHER’s highly anticipated follow-up to debut album Orchestrating the Apocalypse, was produced by Death Metal icon and studio wizard Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL, ex-MORBID ANGEL). Album artwork will be revealed in the near future
The collaboration marks the first time Tucker and Rutan have worked together since MORBID ANGEL’s Gateways to Annihilation. Tucker had this to say about the results:
“I am extremely excited for the release of The Grey Eminence. I feel that this album is one of the best things that I have ever been a part of! Erik Rutan did an amazing job on the production and the songs speak for themselves!”
Producer Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL, ex-MORBID ANGEL) added:
“Recording with Steve and the guys on the new Warfather album has been fantastic! It has been a blast to be working on this monster album in the studio once again with my great friend and former band mate. The songs are heavy as hell and just outright awesome. We have some great tones and performances.”
Canadian Progressive Metal Outfit THIRD ION, featuring former members of THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND, INTO ETERNITY, and ANNIHILATOR, have announced the July 8 release of sophomore album Biolith. The new album will be released on Glasstone Records and is the first to feature ex-ANNIHILATOR vocalist Dave Padden.
Check out the Biolith teaser video at this location or below:
Padden’s years of experience with ANNIHILATOR, and the many records on which he has appeared, has already proven to be a major asset, and has brought the band to new level of space-time supremacy. THIRD ION once again, tapped artist Harley K at Necrographix to mastermind the artwork for Biolith, and to bring the story of the 10-minute, epic title track to life.
In other THIRD ION news, the band has been nominated for the “Metal/Hard Music Artist of the Year” category at the 2016 Western Canadian Music Awards.

BAND BIO:
Third Ion is the product of a mutual love of prog, video games, and science. Formed in 2014 and spread across Canada, the band finished their first full length record by the end of the year; 13/8Bit was released worldwide on Glasstone Records, May 25 2015.
Peaking at #14 on iTunes Metal Charts, 13/8Bit was fully embraced by press across the globe, receiving 9/10 at metal.de, 8.5/10 in Aardshock Magazine, as well as featured streams at Bravewords.com, and Metal Hammer Norway. Unfortunately, shortly after the release of 13/8Bit, singer Tyler Gilbert decided to leave the band to continue focusing on his own original music and career. The band finished writing the followup record while on the hunt for a replacement through the end of the year.
In January of 2016, Third Ion announced that the mighty Dave Padden, had stepped in, and has recorded all the vocals for their sophomore album Biolith, due July 8 2016 on Glasstone Records.

Australia can be a harsh, hostile place to live. It is fitting that a continent of arid deserts and every creature poisonous and toothy has produced so much great extreme metal. To those ranks, add relative newcomers SEWERCIDE. The Melbourne-based band has actually been around five years now, building their name and sound across a string of splits and EPs, and through relentless live shows at home and abroad. Now at last comes their debut full-length Immortalized In Suffering, just in time for their first U.S. tour.

ARKAIK released their Lucid Dawn full-length last year via Unique Leader Records. The second installment in a series of concept albums, Lucid Dawn centers itself around Cyrix, a disillusioned character in a dystopian society. In Cyrix’ realm, dreaming is systematically controlled by a tyrannical ruler named Khaal-Li-Phar and his army of dark shamans, where people are forced to build monuments to the tyrant to stifle their imaginations and inhibit their ability to achieve a multi-dimensional existence.
Musically and conceptually, Lucid Dawn is a Death Metal take on American mythologist, writer and lecturer, Joseph Campbell’s monomyth and the beginning of Cyrix’s “Hero’s Journey,” that seamlessly carries its listeners on a visceral expedition through the depths of evil and beyond the threshold of mundane reality.
ARKAIK‘s Lucid Dawn was engineered, mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren (Suffocation, Fallujah, Wrvth, All Shall Perish et al.) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California and is out now worldwide via Unique Leader Records. Order bundles are currently available at THIS LOCATION.

Sweden’s masters of dark Progressive Metal, WOLVERINE, have just issued an official lyric video for Machina, the second track on the band’s Sensory Records-bound fifth album, Machina Viva. The “Machina” video is exposed to the public through an exclusive premiere via New Noise Magazine, alongside interesting commentary on the track by the band members.
Tune in to New Noise Magazine and see WOLVERINE’s “Machina” video atTHIS LOCATION.
WOLVERINE‘s first title for the Laser’s Edge Metal division, Sensory Records, Machina Viva will see worldwide release on July 8th. A trailer for the album has also been issued right HERE.
Recorded and produced by WOLVERINE in various locations throughout Sweden during the Autumn and Winter months of late 2015 and early 2016, Machina Viva was mixed at Spacelab Studio in Germany by Christian “Moschus” Moos (Everon, Haken, Delain, Cloverseeds), and mastered by Grammy Award winning audio engineer Bob Katz. A natural progression from the band’s previous album, Communication Lost, released in 2011 via Candlelight Records, Machina Viva invites the listener into the harmonious yet portentous and sullen musical dimensions of WOLVERINE with perhaps their most dynamic album to date.
From the fourteen-minute epic and powerful “The Bedlam Overture” and the dark electronic landscapes of “Machina,” to the naked and organic nature of “Pile Of Ash” and “Sheds,” Machina Viva is the next step in Wolverine’s explorations in the progressive field. The layout features microbiological photos by Arturo Agostino and cover art by drummer Marcus Losbjer. Additionally, the CD edition will bear an additional bonus cello version of “Pile Of Ash.”
Additional audio from the album, preorders, tour dates, and more will be issued over the weeks ahead.

Southern California’s Ghoulgotha have re-emerged from the depths with the release of To Starve the Cross. The band’s 2015 debut – The Deathmass Cloak – was praised by critics for its demented revisionism of doom-infused, old-school Death Metal. To Starve the Cross sees Ghoulgotha twist an already abstract reality into forms never before experienced.
Cvlt Nation, in response to the release of The Deathmass Cloak, said it was time to “posers the door.” To Starve the Cross is the 10-headed beast ready to devour those who didn’t heed that warning. This album, simply put, is a masterpiece of atonal and dissonant Death Metal delivered straight from the warped mind of Wayne Sarantopoulos (Decrepitaph, Encoffination, et. al).
The band has posted a video for album track “The Sulfur Age” at this location or inhale it below:
To Starve the Cross was mixed and mastered by Damian Herring at Subterranean Watchtower Studios with artwork by Mattias Frisk. Dark Descent will unleash this monster June 13 on CD and digital formats with vinyl treatment coming soon after.
SHAI HULUD is currently in Europe on tour in support of their Sincerely Hated EP and most recent full-length, Reach Beyond The Sun. Following their return to the US, they will immediately embark upon a brief run of East Coast dates, with a few stops in Canada.
Elaborates mainman Matt Fox:”Hello friends. Here are a couple of Summer dates in the US and Canada, followed by four dates in Japan with our dear friends in Endzweck. See yous there? Excellent. We’re looking forward to it. Very Mean Pete of Remembering Never/xBishopx will be fronting us because Henry Rollins has called in sick. It happens. If there are any more shows this year, they will be sporadic and most likely in unlikely places so come rage while you can. The rest of the year we will be writing new music so we can attempt to cut our usual time in-between full-length albums by one full year. Exciting, ain’t it? We think so, too. Love. Respect. Hate. Piss. Moan. Sincerely Hated, Your friendly neighborhood SHAI HULUD.”

Norwegian Punk/Hardcore killers OKKULTOKRATI are currently immersed in the completion of their fourth full-length album, and first for Southern Lord Recordings, this week divulging new details on the impending album.
OKKULTOKRATI has been occupying Malabar Studios, in Oslo, working closely with engineer Emil Nikolaisen of Serena-Maneesh, who also recorded their Snakereigns LP, recording around the clock, capturing the tracks as they would on stage, void of click tracks or tutoring tactics. The band also announces a new member to the outfit, as Feffe Severin joins the lineup on synth, as they attempt to add new elements of otherworldliness to their already diverse sound. Severin becomes the fifth member of OKKULTOKRATI, joining vocalist Henning, guitarist Erik Svarte, bassist Boris, and drummer Lars.
Upon hearing the current mixes, Southern Lord owner Greg Anderson called the album, “Fucked up in all the right places! Super original and I can say that I’ve definitely never heard anything like this! Visions of Bauhaus and Dark Throne listening to Joy Division albums by torchlight in the dark forests of Oslo.”
The as-yet-unnamed new LP is being completed for Autumn 2016 release through Southern Lord; stand by for additional details to be issued shortly.
Southern Lord is currently preparing for the reissues for two of OKKULTOKRATI‘s prior LPs – their 2012-Snakereigns and 2014-released Night Jerks LPs – which were originally released via Norwegian lab Fysisk Format. These two albums will see re-release on LP, and both combined on one CD, next Friday, May 6th; preorders are available HERE.
European tour dates for the year are imminent, and the band is planning to storm North American shores for the first time in support of the new LP.
OKKULTOKRATI makes it their business to tear apart the Rock ‘n’ Roll guidebook and mash it in to vicious combat music for fans of punk, d-beat, Black Metal and generally anyone with a penchant for unsavory anthems delivered with inimitable attitude. They have earned a ferocious reputation for siphoning elements of disparate genres in to their toxic, distorted brew, a trait that can be observed across the whole of the Black Hole Crew collective encompassing Haust, Dark Times, Blood Suckers, Drugged SS, and others.
Once the sheer slamming force of their tunes has sunk in, the iconoclastic quintet has a tendency to pull the rug from under the whole contraption, sending their tracks tumbling in to experimental and industrial forays that further their capacity to ensnare the listener in their bear trap.
DESTRUCTION will join forces with US-based Thrash Metal monsters FLOTSAM & JETSAM, the Swedish Metal maniacs ENFORCER and Brazil’s NERVOSA.

FLOTSAM & JETSAM comments:
This tour is going to be an absolute thrash fest! Flotsam and Jetsam is honored to support the legendary Destruction, one of the strongest thrash bands to ever come out of Europe. We can t think of anything better for this fall than getting back to our friends and fans in Europe for a month, hitting the stage and the streets with Schmier, Mike, and Vaaver, the Enforcer crew and Fernanda and the women of Nervosa, night after night. If that doesn`t sound like trouble, we don`t know what does!”
