JOE STUMP’S TOWER OF BABEL, the hard rock quintet who brings the finest European ingredients to their no-nonsense rock ‘n’ roll, are pleased unveil their high-octane video for “Rules Of Silence.” The track is taken from the new album Days Of Thunder, set for release Friday, July 4th on Silver Lining Music.
‘“Rules Of Silence’ feels to me like one of those old up-tempo Rainbow songs, such as ‘Lost In Hollywood’ or ‘Fire Dance,’” explains Stump. “It’s one those ‘driving’ tracks, and it’s one of my favourite riffs on the record. I love the balls of something that rocks like that, it’s got a lot more vibe and it’s fun to play.”

Joe Stump’s supreme six-string shredding skills are known throughout the rock and metal scenes, both as the lead guitarist of Alcatrazz and as the shred specialist associate Professor at the Berklee College Of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and having torn new earholes with their 2017 debut Lake Of Fire, Stump and company take it a step further and higher with ten glorious slices of riff-driven, Rainbow/Deep Purple-styled anthems on Days Of Thunder.
Along with the soaring vocals of Jo Amore, the tight-fist-drumming of Mark Cross, the multi-dimensional Mistheria (aka The Maestro) on keyboards, and Nic Angileri nailing down the rhythms on bass guitar, Stump has once again prevailed in bringing heavy, energetic, yet gloriously melodic music to the table with a style and panache rarely seen in 2025.
Days Of Thunder was produced by Mark Cross, mixed by George Aspiotis and Mark Cross at Studio Aspiotis in Greece and mastered by Ade Emsley at Table Of Tone Mastering in the UK.
A new gathering in the Pacific Northwestern heavy metal community has been unveiled, as the inaugural edition of SOLDIERS OF STEEL FESTIVAL has been confirmed for the first weekend of August in Seattle.
SOLDIERS OF STEEL FESTIVAL is a showcase of American Pacific Northwest traditional heavy metal and adjacent bands old and new. Its maiden edition will feature sets from The Lord Weird, Slough Feg, Leather Leone (Chastain set), Q5, Twisted Tower Dire, Danava, Greyhawk, Hammer Head (exclusive first reunion show), Taist Of Iron, and more! The festival is presented by NW MetalFest, NW Metalworx Music, Nameless Grave Records, and BabeFinder General LLC.
Brandon Corsair of Nameless Grave Records and more, one of the co-promoters of the event, states, “We – the NW Metalworx guys, Amy from Solicitor, and myself – felt like the region was really lacking in a suitable heavy metal centered festival post-COVID, with the last I can think of being NW Metalfest II and Eliminator Festival in 2019.
We have such a rich scene – both of great modern bands and classic ones that are still active – that a festival like this felt almost like it had to happen, and so, SOLDIERS OF STEEL FESTIVALwas born! We can’t wait for everyone to headbang to the lineup that we put together for this first edition of the festival. See you there!”
SOLDIERS OF STEEL FESTIVAL will take place August 1st and 2nd at the Substation in Seattle, Washington. View the full festival lineup below. Tickets are available now at THIS LOCATION.

Giles Lavery is best known as the vocalist of Warlord, Alcatrazz and Jack Starr. On top of that, he is also a highly prolific band manager, record producer and label co-owner.
DRAGONSCLAW is the name one of the first bands Giles Lavery co-formed with Ben Thomas in 2010, while still residing in Sydney, Australia. Their debut album Prophecy was quickly recorded in 2011, followed by Judgement Day (2013). And now, a record breaking twelve years later, it’s time for the follow-up.
Apart from Giles Lavery on vocals, Moving Target features Australian citizens Ben Thomas (guitars) and Aaron Thomas (bass) as well Warlord members Mark Zonder (drums) and Jimmy Waldo (keyboards).
“For me the direction on Moving Target was intended to be if Judas Priest had made an album somewhere in 1985 between Defenders Of The Faith and Turbo,” describes the vocalist on the sound of the new DRAGONSCLAW album, “with some of the second Fifth Angel album in there too.”
Keyboards are prominently featured on Moving Target, which was actually the original plan of the band: “I think for this album the keyboards are very important, they create the needed atmosphere and drama. I would say that we used them in a similar way that Virgin Steele did on Age Of Consent, namely to build atmosphere. I really like that haunting effect keyboards can have when used right. Like Tony Banks from Genesis does, or Tony Carey on his Planet P Project albums. Jimmy Waldo is one of those guys too.”
Probably the fastest and most upbeat number on Moving Target is called “Shadowfire”. And it comes with a surprise: “’Shadowfire’ reminded me of a current-day Riot song, so I asked Todd Michael Hall to sing on it with me and he was kind enough to do so!”

After the chart-smashing success of their latest album, Bone Collector, followed by an extensive touring schedule, German iconic heavy metal force Grave Digger returns with a brand new, stand-alone banger that bites hard and howls louder! “Bark to Hell”, the band’s latest single, is a fiery descent into chaos, crowned by the king of torment himself.
Obey the call… or be dragged under, Grave Digger’s new track is out now on all digital services at this location: https://gravedigger.rpm.link/bthPR
Grave Digger frontman Chris Boltendahlcomments: “Hey folks, we’re back! And we’ve brought you our brand-new single: “Bark to Hell”! For us, this track is the final exclamation mark to close out our celebrated Bone Collector session with a bang. With “Bark to Hell,” we’ve packed in everything that defines Grave Digger, raw energy, dark atmosphere, and no-compromise power.
Hellish guitar riffs, pounding drums, and my unmistakable vocals are driving this beast forward. This one’s a true headbanger, no playlist should be without it! But let me make one thing clear: this isn’t a farewell. “Bark to Hell” is a triumphant afterburner, dark, loud, and gripping to the very last note. To all our die-hard fans: this one’s for you. Grave Digger still bites – hard.”
This year does not only see German iconic metal institution Grave Digger celebrate its 45th anniversary, but also their 23rd, chart success album Bone Collector, released in January 2025 via ROARhere).
Founded in 1980 in Gladbeck, they set out to conquer the world; who would have thought that 45 years later Grave Digger would be one of the most important, consistent and influential metal bands from Germany. With the release of their ground-breaking debut Heavy Metal Breakdown in 1984, an unprecedented career began that will find its logical continuation more than four decades later with their latest, new masterpiece Bone Collector, an album that sees the band going back to their old school roots.
New Jersey Thrash Metal quartet, Condition Critical, are set to release their third full-length album (and first since 2016’s Operational Hazard). Their most intense and complete effort to date, Degeneration Chamber will be released on September 5th.
A music video for the album’s first single, “Cryonic Intestinal Preservation,” is available at: youtu.be/dl3Oj-GUpHI
Unapologetically true to their roots, the new album pushes the band’s sound to new extremes. It is heavier, faster, slower, and more technically unrelenting. Every track is sharpened for maximum impact, delivering a refined yet feral evolution of their signature thrash assault.
This is not just another record, it’s the definitive Condition Critical statement: uncompromising, chaotic, and forged in pure aggression.
FFO: Slayer, Demolition Hammer, Vio-lence, Kreator, Exodus, Devastation and Pestilence.
Track Listing:
Wretched Aggression
Deconstructive Horrors
Cranial Dissolution
Hydroponic Mutation
Postmortal Simulation
Psychological Epidemic

Formed in 2010, Condition Critical delivers high-intensity, no-bullshit thrash metal in the tradition of the genre’s most violent pioneers. Described as “a literal war of sound that attacks you with deadly perfection” (New Wave of Thrash Zine), they’ve built a reputation on relentless riffage, vicious stage presence, and tours across the U.S., Europe, and Russia.
They’ve shared stages with notable acts such as Obituary, Demolition Hammer, Napalm Death, Morbid Saint, Revocation, and Havok.

SIX FEET UNDER continues to tour in support of their fourteenth studio album, Killing For Revenge, released last year via Metal Blade Records!
A gnarly beast of a record that’s not for the faint-hearted, Killing For Revenge dishes up nightmare-inducing imagery courtesy of Barnes via the vocalist’s trademark guttural vocals. Both the album title and darkly detailed red-hued album cover by artist Vince Locke are perfect containers for the brutality within.
Forged as a side project for Barnes during his final years with the band that he co-founded, Cannibal Corpse, SIX FEET UNDER became the frontman’s sole focus in 1995, coinciding with the release of their debut, Haunted. Only Barnes remains from SIX FEET UNDER’s original incarnation, but the quality has remained remarkably consistent. The current lineup of Barnes, guitarists Jack Owen (ex-Cannibal Corpse) and Ray Suhy, bassist Jeff Hughell, and drummer Marco Pitruzzella makes for a devastating unit.

Milwaukee thrash metal powerhouse, BRAY ROAD returns with “Wasted Mutiny“, the second single from their highly anticipated (currently untitled) upcoming album.
A follow-up to 2024’s “Burn”, this new song brings the aggression to a new level, fusing death-laden brutality, hardcore urgency, and the undeniable groove of classic thrash. Raw and relentless, “Wasted Mutiny” is a pummeling, in-your-face anthem of resistance and rebellion.
“Lyrically, the song delivers a defiant message: reject the manipulation of a broken political system and reclaim your autonomy,” comments the band. “It’s a battle cry for free thinkers and a warning to those who blindly follow.”
Ghost Cult Magazine presents the exclusive premiere of the lyric video for “Wasted Mutiny.” Watch the video at this location.
The band will appear at two US festivals this summer, the NYDM Annual in West Chicago, IL, and the Blades of Steel Metalfest in Madison, WI. Dates as details are as follows:
August 8 – 9: NYDM Annual @ WC Social Club – West Chicago, IL
Bray Road: Nino Anthony – Vocals/Guitars Peter Kissane – Drums David Moran – Bass
BRAY ROAD derives its name from an actual road in Elkhorn, WI, where the popular cryptozoological werewolf-like creature, the Beast of Bray Road, is said to stalk the area.
The band’s debut full-length recording (recorded in 2015 via Cavern Entertainment), Feast Upon the Helpless, was released in the Spring of 2017.
BRAY ROAD’s follow-up 5-song E.P. entitled Formation was released in early 2019 and highlighted the band’s direction, featuring a more aggressive and heavy approach across the board, while still maintaining the Thrash / Groove Metal elements that complemented the BRAY ROAD sonic landscape.
BRAY ROAD‘s latest release “Focused.Fierce.Relentless…” 2023, highlights the band’s current musical direction.
BRAY ROAD has shared the stage with and opened for International touring acts such as Testament, Raven, Jungle Rot and the legendary Grim Reaper, Battlecross, Morbid Saint, Deceased, Embalmer, N.S.O.A. RAVEN, Whiplash, Prong, DRI, TOXXIC, Morta Skuld, Ross The Boss, and many regional touring acts, and continue to storm the local and regional scene with some of the best bands and venues around.
Mexican death metal force BETRAYME return with a vengeance with their brand new single “Unnamed”, out now via Lethal Scissor Records. This marks the band’s first original release since their EP Nihil Obstat and it showcases them at the peak of their creative power.
With “Unnamed”, BETRAYME deliver a furious yet calculated assault, a track that highlights their trademark blend of relentless speed, surgical precision and crushing groove. The band continues to refine a sound that is both technically elaborate and unapologetically heavy, reaffirming their position in the modern death metal landscape.
This new single is not just a return, but a clear statement of intent: BETRAYME are here to push their limits and elevate their craft to new heights.
“‘Unnamed’ is the first single from our upcoming album. This track is the result of an intense production process that spanned several months, during which we collaborated with two highly skilled producers. Rubén Sánchez of Urvn Studio (Guanajuato, Mexico) was responsible for editing the recorded tracks, using his expertise to help shape our sound. Meanwhile, acclaimed U.S. producer Mike Low took care of mixing and mastering. Mike has worked with bands such as Inferi, Allegaeon, DÅÅTH, Fallujah, and Shadow of Intent, among others. He currently works as an assistant to Dave Otero and Dan Swanö, further reinforcing his experience, one of the key reasons we were eager to collaborate with him in pursuit of the sound we’ve always envisioned”.

Known for their firebranded approach to songwriting and relentless energy, VINDICATOR delivers an album true to their roots. This is raw, aggressive thrash. No filler, no compromise and no bullshit. Thrash or be thrashed.
VINDICATOR has shared a stream of the album’s first single, the aptly titled “Thirst for Violence.” The band comments on the song, “Thirst for Violence is, as the song title implies, a song about absolute destruction helmed by a race of creatures who are fanatical about killing. While not related to current events, it’s a fitting theme for man.”
Whispers of Death is set for release on August 22 on CD and digital formats. Pre-order the album at: vindicator.bandcamp.com.

Between the Buried and Me announced the Sept. 12 release of The Blue Nowhere, the GRAMMY®-nominated band’s eleventh studio album, and their first new music in four years. The album news arrived alongside the release of “Things We Tell Ourselves In The Dark” and its accompanying video, which explores the 3D-modeled hotel that is The Blue Nowhere.
Discussing the direction of The Blue Nowhere, vocalist Tommy Rogers explains: “It’s more of a feeling, those moments when you feel alone in the world and you’re reflecting, and in that process you’re finding out new things about yourself and your place in the world. Existing in a space where nobody can find you, as you’re hidden from all forms of reality. That’s The Blue Nowhere.”

RECORRUPTOR have unleashed “Bearing the Befouled Spawn”, the second single from their forthcoming album Sorrow Will Drown Us All, due out July 18th, 2025, via Time To Kill Records.
With this new track, the Michigan based death metal unit doubles down on the crushing weight and surgical precision that define their sound. “Bearing the Befouled Spawn” is a relentless assault – dark and sharpened to a lethal point, showcasing the band’s evolved approach to brutality and atmosphere. Fuelled by blistering riffing and unyielding aggression, the single offers a punishing glimpse into the abyss RECORRUPTOR are prepared to drag listeners through.
Stream “Bearing the Befouled Spawn” now and witness the next chapter in their descent.
“‘Bearing the Befouled Spawn’ is Recorruptor’s sick and twisted tale of a most vile, disgusting birth – a woman forced to birth a vicious, man-eating hellspawn that wreaks havoc upon the unsuspecting public. A conscious, spiteful nod to the current climate of Christian ideologies sending the world into a downwards spiral, so too does this fictitious public face an ultimate doom as a result of their religious beliefs”.
Track-list:
1. Bathe in the Ashes of Heaven 2. Sorrow Will Drown Us All 3. Bearing the Befouled Spawn 4. Within the Vault 5. Urn of Verglas 6. Envenoming 7. An Unnatural Lust 8. Devoured by Centipedes 9. Insidious Rot 10. Putrid Aberration of Malevolent Divinity 11. Death at the Hands of His Image 12. Scourge of Prometheus (Ft. Enrico H. Di Lorenzo of Hideous Divinity)

ENTHEOS released their An End To Everything EP last Fall via Metal Blade Records. “An End To Everything’s title and lyrics are significant on a personal level and depict an era in my life that ended with the death of a close friend because of addiction,” says Crabb. “This person had thrived in life against many odds but ultimately succumbed as a result of their own poor decisions. An End To Everything is about the nature of the darkness of life and the human experience.
“Musically, our goal on this EP was to write five songs that could both stand on their own as singles and be cohesive as a collection. As always, we aimed to incorporate many different musical influences and blend them in a succinct way. Over the span of three months, we worked from the demo stages to completion alongside Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Fallujah, Whitechapel), who co-produced and engineered the EP, to make five tracks that are uniquely ‘ENTHEOS,’ and we are incredibly proud of the result.”

Time To Kill Records is proud to announce the signing of Canadian death metal upstarts LAST RETCH for the release of their second full-length album.
Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, LAST RETCH have been hard at work crafting a new chapter that promises to command the attention of underground death metal fans worldwide. Blending the bulldozer-like march of war masters Bolt Thrower with the bone-crushing stomp of Cannibal Corpse at their most muscular, the band has forged a sound that’s primed for the chaos of the pit and the raw aggression of the genre’s most punishing traditions.
The new album stands as a testament to LAST RETCH’s dedication to relentless riffing and unflinching heaviness. Details and the first single will be revealed soon, stay tuned!
Line-up:
Finlay Blakelock – Vocals Matt Fyke – Bass Spencer Robson – Drums Derek Brzozowski – Guitar John Russell – Guitar
Biography:
LAST RETCH first made their mark in early 2021 with a well-received demo that captured their raw, unfiltered sound and quickly drew the attention of underground death metal fans.
In September 2022, LAST RETCH released their debut full-length album, Sadism and Severed Heads” – a savage collection of nine tracks that pushed their sound to new levels of intensity and featured cover artwork by renowned painter Paolo Girardi. Building on this momentum, the band released the Ergotism EP in April 2024, showcasing their evolution with a tighter, even more aggressive sound.
LAST RETCH continues to refine their approach to death metal, never shying away from brutality while adding new layers of depth and atmosphere to their music.
