Bassist Dave Kirsch of Pittsburgh, PA tech death metal machine, Kamikabe, has released a playthrough video for the song ‘The Process Within,’ which comes off of their debut full length “Aberration of Man,” released in August 2012 via Unique Leader Records.
You can check out the new video at this locationor below:
Kamikabe recruited Dave Kirsch as their full-time bassist back in the Spring of 2014, replacing Matt Rucinski, who parted ways with the band in mid 2013.
Following the release of “Aberration of Man,” Kamikabe hit the road in the Fall of 2012 for an East Coast Headline run with fellow heavy hitters Rivers of Nihil supporting. After taking a break for the winter, Kamikabe hit the road once again in Spring 2013 as part of the Bloodletting North America tour which also featured Gorod, Inanimate Existence and Vale of Pnath, as well as The Kennedy Veil, Pyrexia, Achspire, Applaud the Impaler and others on select dates throughout the tour. Immediately following the Bloodletting tour, Kamikabe had to deal with some shifts in their line up which led to an unanticipated lengthy downtime for the band.
Brand new material is still a work in progress at this point, but the band has plans to release their sophomore album on Unique Leader Records later this year and hopes to hit the road in support of it as well.
There are many, many artists in music today, from Pop to Metal that would not be who they are or where they are without YouTube. The possibilities are endless when the right song or video begins to make the rounds and ends up achieving ‘viral’ status that was typically never expected or intended. And while that type of infectious sharing is never the case with Extreme Metal, bands and artists consistently creating content can still manage to reach a much larger audience through YouTube’s massive (google enhanced) reach and suggestive sidebar links.
Knowing all of that, The Kennedy Veil‘s own Gabe Seeber has decided to get more involved in creating content for fans to watch and share around. The first of several upcoming Drum Playthroughs to be released, is ‘Mental Crucifixion,’ a track by melodic tech death band Vale of Pnath, from the 2011 album, Prodigal Empire. You can check out the playthrough video at this location or below:
Also be sure to subscribe and stay tuned to Gabe’s YouTube Channel to be the first to see all of the upcoming drum playthrough videos he has planned for 2015.
2014 was a banner year for Gabe, with The Kennedy Veil releasing their debut album, ‘Trinity of Falsehood‘ on January 21, 2014 via Unique Leader Records, and immediately hitting the road in support of the album alongside labelmates Lord of War and Arkaik. Gabe was also a member of Sacramento tech death outfit and Unique Leader labelmates, Alterbeast. Gabe re-recorded the drums for what would become that band’s UL debut album, ‘Immortal,’ which saw a release in March of 2014.
In late Spring of 2014, Gabe confirmed that he would once again be the touring drummer for Decrepit Birth for their Summer Slaughter Tour run, alongside death metal legends Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus and more. About a month after returning home from Summer Slaughter, Gabe hit the road with Alterbeast, alongside Chelsea Grin and headliners Suicide Silence and The Black Dahlia Murder for a month-long tour across North America, which included being a part of the VIP Kick Off Party for Knotfest in San Bernardino, CA. In late 2014, Gabe officially parted ways with Alterbeast in order to focus more on The Kennedy Veil.
DORO will be touring the USA this March, with 11 dates confirmed. Check out the tour flyer above for dates, cities and venues. Long live DORO! Metal be thy name!

Devil Without A Cause was released back in August of 1998. This album also features my favorite Kid Rock song of all-time: Cowboy.
Black .44 from Helsinki, Finland hits the studio at the end of February to record their debut album. The band, founded in 2011, plays melodic Stoner Metal and released their first demo-ep in 2012, receiving some great feedback in the Finnish Metal media. Black .44 songs tell dark stories about your regular hometown murderers and those poor souls that just happen to be born crooked or just always seem to make the wrong choices in life. The band is influenced by such artists as Pantera, Black Sabbath, Down and Alice in Chains. Heavy riffs and catchy melodies spiced up with a twist of that southern groove are the trademarks of Black .44.
The album will be released in autumn 2015, by Finnish record label Inverse Records. The name and release date of the debut will be announced later.
On February 14th, 1975 – The prolific Led Zeppelin performed at the Nassau Coliseum, in Uniondale, Long Island, New York, USA.

Ian Gillan was the vocalist on both the Born Again album and this tour, with Bev Bevan (of Electric Light Orchestra fame) as drummer for the Born Again World Tour. Tony Iommi (guitar) and Geezer Butler (bass) were the only two original members of Black Sabbath on this tour. Metal legends, all.

The great Billy Idol makes a cameo appearance in this film too! The acting chemistry between Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is really fabulous stuff, in my Metal opinion.
I highly recommend this movie if you haven’t already seen it. I just dig the storyline, acting and funny atmosphere of this movie. I believe I’ve seen this picture about 25 times now! The Wedding Singer was written by Tim Herlihy and directed by Frank Coraci. Yes, The Wedding Singer is… Metal.

In other words, Henry Rollins stays very busy! TV Guide has described Henry Rollins as a Renaissance Man.
Currently, Henry Rollins is host for the History Channel’s fun, informative and addicting series: 10 Things You Don’t Know About. I watch this show with my wife and we are big fans of both this series and Henry Rollins. Long live Henry Rollins! Metal be thy name!
Guitar World’s March 2015 issue focuses on Black Sabbath’s Tony, Geezer, and Ozzy as they spill the details on drugs, debauchery, and some damned good riffs!
First, Black Sabbath’s Iron Men, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler recall the rise and fall of the first – and greatest – incarnation of heavy metal’s originators. Then, the Ozz Man tells the stories behind 10 classic Black Sabbath tracks, including “Paranoid,” “Fairies Wear Boots,” “Planet Caravan,” and “Iron Man.”
Also, Guitar World picks the best of the original lineup tracks – from “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” and “Supernaut” to “Sweet Leaf” and “Dirty Women.”
The band, hailing from Munich, Germany, has been around since 1993 and recently introduced the new band members Jürgen Dachl (vocals), Bernd Intveen (guitar) and Chris Widmann (drums).
Influenced by their previous work in other Metal bands, the sound of STORMHAMMER will change a little bit!
The band’s currently in the final stages of the album recordings.
Believe us, the Hammer is coming!

DESECRATOR recently released new single “Red Steel Nation,” along with the video that can be viewed at this location. The video was written, produced, and directed by Robert Taylor of Phanterror Video, with cinematography by Taylor and Jeff Hann.
Bred on an ideal that music should have power and fed on a hunger to bring back True Thrash Metal with intensity and ferocity, DESECRATOR are one band that you simply must experience. With a sound that has been compared to early TESTAMENT, DEATH ANGEL and SACRED REICH, DESECRATOR’s twin guitar attack, punishing rhythm section and blood-soaked vocals have won over old guard thrashers and brought along a new generation of fans.
Enthusiastic industry response powered DESECRATOR’s meteoric ascent, while the band slayed audiences on stage in Australia alongside FORBIDDEN, WARBRINGER, MORTAL SIN, HOBB’S ANGEL OF DEATH, MACABRE, HAVOK and TOXIC HOLOCAUST. The band’s first international tour through Southeast Asia served to further cement the band’s reputation as a forced to be reckoned with in the live arena.
ABOUT DESECRATOR:
Formed in 2008 by guitarist/vocalist Riley Strong, Melbounre’s DESECRATOR quickly gained popularity in their home country of Australia, releasing a self-titled demo and touring with bands such as FORBIDDEN, WARBRINGER, MORTAL SIN, HOBB’S ANGEL OF DEATH, MACABRE and TOXIC HOLOCAUST. In 2011 they released debut album Live til Death. Recorded at the iconic ‘Arthouse’ in Melbourne, and mixed/mastered in Germany by acclaimed Thrash producer Harris Johns, Live til Death. was released as a limited edition CD (666 hand-numbered copies). Live til Death. gained widespread acclaim for its uniqueness as a live album debut release and its raw, uncompromising Thrash Metal attack.
DESECRATOR toured substantially in 2012 after releasing Live til Death, which included their D.I.Y.S.E.A tour of Southeast Asia. Guitarist Luke Anticevic was replaced by Scottie Anning after Luke joined HOBBS’ ANGEL OF DEATH, and DESECRATOR continued to tour in support of the album.
DESECRATOR entered the studio in early 2013 to record their follow-up EP Down to Hell.. After the recording was completed, bassist Mano Lygnos and drummer Matt Woolhouse departed the band and were replaced by Paulie Tipping and Jared Roberts, respectively. Harris Johns was again tapped to master Down to Hell and DESECRATOR released it independently as a two-side, limited edition splatter-vinyl LP. Down to Hell. was favourably received by fans and critics alike, with reviewers praising Riley Strong’s progressive songwriting and DESECRATOR’s indefatigable live shows.
The new DESECRATOR lineup hit the ground running and toured Australia extensively in 2013 and 2014 in support of Down to Hell, playing alongside bands such as MALIGNANT MONSTER, DREADNAUGHT, KING PARROT, HAVOK, GRAVE, WEHRMACHT, D.R.I, ABIGAIL, TANKARD, SEPULTURA, IN FLAMES and TRIVIUM.
On February 10th, 1975 – The fabulous Led Zeppelin performed the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland, USA. Check out the price for the ticket above, it cost $8.50 (U.S.) to get in! Now, that’s a Metal bargain! Unreal!

On this day, in 2015 – Sweden’s Black Metal warriors MARDUK released their thirteenth studio album: Frontschwein. Yes, I am gonna buy this one too… or at least add it to my list until I have extra cash.

A lover of classical music, Rhoads had taken initial steps into rock’n’roll as a 16 year old when he formed a band, that soon became Quiet Riot. Rhoads was vaulted to the limelight in 1979 when Ozzy Osbourne chose the relatively unknown guitarist to help shape a new future for him via his band, Blizzard of Oz. The result saw Rhoads co-script two of the most famous albums in hard rock history, Blizzard Of Oz and Diary of A Madman, and rapidly ascended the stairway of fame and recognition for his virtuoso playing and writing. Famed for the way he fused classical flavors with technically-excellent hard rock, Rhoads became one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock.
When he tragically passed away on March 19, 1982 in a plane accident, Rhoads was only 25 years old, but thankfully, the legend of his work, ethos and their continuing influence on a whole new generation of guitarists, has never dimmed.

VINCE NEIL
Born on February 8th, 1961 in California was Vince Neil. Happy Birthday, Vince Neil! Whoa! Vince Neil is super well-known as the lead singer, original member and co-songwriter for the incredible Mötley Crüe.
Vince Neil has also released three studio albums during his music career, with Tattoos & Tequila (via Eleven Seven Music) being his most recent from 2010. His debut solo album was released back in 1993, via Warner Bros. Records and is titled: Exposed. Long live Vince Neil!
The eighth studio album from the UK’s Anaal Nathrakh was released back in October of 2014, via Metal Blade Records. Now, say Anaal Nathrakh ten times fast! Sometimes I get into these type of silly Metal moods. Well, let’s just say that Anaal Nathrakh will never perform live on the lame-ass Grammy Awards show. This band has carved a respectable career out of playing Extreme Metal and their latest album, Desideratum, is no stray from the Extreme path.
I really appreciate the diversity of this band, with Extreme Metal leading the way; I also enjoy fully the Power Metal style vocals that compliment the Blackened, Death and Grind vocals. Anaal Nathrakh play a buzz saw and in-your-face brand of Extreme Metal; Desideratum is so delightfully overwhelming that I nearly cry out: my brain and ears are punished, no mas!! Funny thing is, I have played this album on repeat just to take in its stunning intensity.
L to R: David Hunt aka V.I.T.R.I.O.L and Mick Kenney
I’ve always adhered to the Metal notion that there’s a ton to be said about listening to Extreme Metal and taking in the sonic assault from Anaal Nathrakh makes me feel like I’ve punched a heavy bag when I never did; that makes me feel good inside and feeling good from any music is what matters most.
I can’t explain it, however, listening to this album has an almost mysterious addiction about it; it’s Extreme and it’s also a potent Metal statement as to how immensely memorable melodies can co-exist within the framework of an Extreme Metal album.
If you’re a fan of Abiotic, Alterbeast or The Black Dahlia Murder, (for examples), you will become an instant fan of Anaal Nathrakh. Long time fans of this brutal band should be very pleased with Desideratum; I know I’m very pleased. Metal be thy name. – Stone
