Noise-A-Tron Announce Tour For U.S. West Coast

Seattle duo Noise-A-Tron will be hitting the west coast this fall to hypnotize audiences with their unique syntheses of drone and noise. The band’s recently released full length Vast Arcane has received widespread acclaim and after sharing the stage with the likes of Sólstafir, Author & Punisher and Muscle & Marrow, the band have now set their sights on further live actions across the western portion of the country.

On September 2nd, 2000 – Approximately 700 DEF LEPPARD fans received ticket refunds at the Oregon State Fair, in Salem, Oregon. This was due to DEF LEPPARD playing too quietly in order to obey local noise ordinances. Lesson learned: never perform a Heavy Metal concert in a community where constipated ABBA fans reside. Truth.

On September 2nd, 2015 – The sixth studio album from DISTURBED, Immortalized, is ranked at #1, on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. Jumping kidney beans! By the way, all the bubble gum Pop artists on this same album chart have shit their pants.

On September 2nd, 2015 – The seminal studio album from MOTÖRHEAD, Ace Of Spades, is sitting at #19 on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. “…And don’t forget the joker!” This album was released back in 1980. MOTÖRHEAD has stood the test of time = Classic Rock ‘N Roll. Lemmy is a Rock ‘N Roll supreme being. ‘Nuff said.

Californian Progressive Death Metal outfit, ARKAIK, are set to unleash their third full-length via Unique Leader Records this Fall. Entitled Lucid Dawn, the ten-track magnum opus was engineered, mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren (Suffocation, Fallujah, Wrvth, All Shall Perish et al.) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California, and takes ARKAIK’s multifaceted sound to an entirely new dimension, showcasing each musician’s creative potential and upping the proverbial ante of the brutality and technicality of their back catalog.

With the addition of guitarists Miguel Esparza (ex-Hatriot) and Greg Paulson as additional composers, Lucid Dawn delivers a fresh approach to the band’s sound and the entire progressive Death Metal genre. As an added bonus, the album features guest appearances from Death Metal heavy weights, Trevor Strnad and Ryan Knight of The Black Dahlia Murder, as well as Bay Area live string quartet, Amaranth.

Lucid Dawn is the second installment in a series of concept albums revolving around Cyrix, a disillusioned character in a dystopian society. In Cyrix’s world, dreaming is systematically controlled by a tyrannical ruler named Khaal-Li-Phar and his army of dark shamans, where people are forced to build monuments to the tyrant to stifle their imaginations and inhibit their ability to achieve a multi-dimensional existence. Lucid Dawn is a death metal take on American mythologist, writer and lecturer, Joseph Campbell’s monomyth and the beginning of Cyrix’s “Hero’s Journey.” Musically and conceptually, Lucid Dawn carries the listener on a visceral exhibition through the depths of evil and beyond the threshold of mundane reality.

DEAD EARTH POLITICS – Announce 10th Anniversary Shows

Austin, Texas indie metal machine DEAD EARTH POLITICS will celebrate a decade of Metal next month with a string of dates across Texas. The trio of shows will culminate in the band’s “official” birthday bash on October 16th at Dirty Dog Bar in Austin. The October 16 show will see original guitarist Ernie Clark joining the band onstage for a handful of DEAD EARTH POLITICS classics.

The shows are sponsored by legendary video show Robb’s MetalWorks (www.facebook.com/robbsmetalworks). San Antonio’s longest standing metal institution, Robb’s MetalWorks will release a series of video interviews featuring members of DEAD EARTH POLITICS discussing the band’s past, present and future. The first video in the series has been posted at this location.

Support acts for the first two shows will be announced in the coming weeks. The Austin gig will feature Critical Assembly, Southern Front, Shadow Spectrum and Black Thorn Halo.

The Winery Dogs are on a HOT STREAK! Richie Kotzen, Mike Portnoy and Billy Sheehan have announced the title of their second album, HOT STREAK. The album comes out October 2nd and the band hits the road on a US tour the very next day. The first song released from the album is called Oblivion, and premieres today on Loudwire.com.

“I feel we’ve taken the band to another level,” explains Richie Kotzen. “The compositions are stronger on this album. I feel more connected lyrically and musically to what I did on this record than on the last one. We’ve widened the musical scope of the band on this record and moved it forward.”

On November 13, the a double white vinyl limited edition will be released.

CATTLE DECAPITATION – Doubles Previous Album Sales; Band Currently Performing On The Summer Slaughter Tour

The Anthropocene Extinction, the newest studio recording from San Diego’s CATTLE DECAPITATION, was unleashed via Metal Blade Records on August 7th and more than doubled first week sales over their previous release, The Monolith Of Inhumanity. The stellar debut resulted in the #41 position on the Billboard Top 200 Current Albums Chart, #5 on the Hard Music Chart, #6 on the Independent Albums Chart, and #14 on the Rock Albums Chart.

In related CATTLE DECAPITATION news, new dates have been added to the band’s recently announced North American Extinction Tour. The band’s headlining trek has expanded to include shows in Erie, Buffalo, Frederick and more. The journey follows the band’s appearance on this year’s edition of the Summer Slaughter Tour currently underway and serves as a precursor to their run supporting Cannibal Corpse later this year.

Swiss Black Metal Vortex BORGNE To Release ‘Règne des Mort’ On Those Opposed Records September 28th

Swiss Black Metal Vortex BORGNE have inked a deal with Those Opposed Records for the release of new album Règne des Morts on September 28, just prior to the band’s appearance at the Black Arts Ceremony Fest in Lyon, France. The album features eight tracks (78 minutes) of crushing, industrial black metal that is superior in terms of songwriting and production to anything previously released. New track “Fear” is streaming here.

The album will be distributed by Season of Mist and Those Opposed Records. Pre-order it at this location. Guests on the new album include Dirge Rep (GEHENNA, ENSLAVED), writing lyrics for one track, and Spellgoth (HORNA) contributing vocals on one track. It will also feature one track in Greek (Ormenos also plays in Kawir) and the first BORGNE track ever to be sung in French.

It will be limited to 500 copies and distributed via Those Opposed Records and Season of Mist: 300 copies on black vinyl, and two different coloured vinyl versions each limited to 100 copies.

Those purchasing Règne des Morts on CD from the band or Season of Mist will have their emails automatically registered for an early bird mailing list to reserve a copy of the vinyl-box set trilogy ahead of the general public.

EYE OF SOLITUDE And FAAL To Release Untitled Split EP

Two of Europe’s most promising next-gen Funeral Doom/Death Metal bands, EYE OF SOLITUDE and FAAL have joined forces for a split EP of epic proportions.

The untitled EP, which features a previously unreleased track from each band that will forever remain exclusive to this split, will be offered as a three-panel deluxe DigiSleeve CD and digital download. The CD version is strictly limited to 500 collectors-edition copies that includes a series of photos from French photographer Animalerrant.

EYE OF SOLITUDE‘s contribution, the aptly titled funeral march Obsequies, is the stylistic missing link between their future classic Canto III album (which was included on numerous ‘Best of 2013’ lists) and last year’s single-track, 50-minute monster Dear Insanity. This is Funeral Doom/Death at its finest!

FAAL‘s Shattered Hope sees the Netherlands-based unit blends elements of old-school Doom with contemporary Gothic/Dark metal for monstrous results.

CORONATUS – To Release New Studio Album “RABEN IM HERZ” This December!

Stuttgart Germany’s Gothic/Symphonic Metal band Coronatus are to enter Klangschmiede Studio E, later this month to record their new album “Raben Im Herz” – scheduled to be released on December 4, 2015 via MASSACRE RECORDS – w/ Markus Stock!

Drummer Mats Kurth comments:

“The new songs will feature even more instrumental parts, which also changed our songwriting process: Our previous songs mostly consisted of up to 90% vocals, which turned out to be a bit limiting for us. Now, with additional instrumental parts, the songs will be more varied and it’s also more fun for us to play them.

There will also be a few changes in store for Anny and Carmen, who will both use a broader vocal range on the new record.  This album will rock!”
