Pagan Records is proud to announce the signing of Cracovian act Ragehammer for their debut full-length. Established in 2012, the quartet has already made a lot of noise due to their uncompromising take on old-school Thrash, Black and Speed Metal.
Their War Hawks demo (2012) received plenty of positive reviews and currently the band is putting the final touches on their debut full-length, entitled The Hammer Doctrine. The album will be released this Spring through Pagan Records and will be followed up by a 7-inch vinyl split with Sweden’s Turbocharged through Godz ov War/Mythrone Promotion.

SIX REASONS TO KILL recently revealed the cover artwork and track list for new EP Rote Erde (German for “Red Earth”). The EP will be released March 11 through Bastardized Recordings on 7″ vinyl with three limited-edition vinyl colors available. Rote Erde contains two new songs: the title track and a cover version of DISMEMBER’s “Of Fire.”
Impacted by line-up changes during the last year, SIX REASONS TO KILL became darker and more brutal in their songwriting, lyrics and artwork. The band plays brute Metal with a lot of anger. The new lyrics are written in German and deal with politically and socially critical topics.
The songs were recorded in summer 2015 at the Beast Audio Studios Frankfurt and mixed and mastered by Kohle at Kohlekeller Studio. The artwork was created by Schrottgrenze.
Revealing their first six bands last week, Armstrong Metalfest is proud to reveal its next batch of bands for this year’s line up taking place on July 15th and 16th in Armstrong, BC at the Hassen Arena. This year’s fest plans to showcase a high-caliber of Western Canadian and international bands, which will include this year’s Best Metal winner from the Whammy Awards taking place in Vancouver on Feb 12th whom will be invited to perform at the fest. Taking influence from Europe’s music festival circuit, Armstrong Metal Fest is a heavy metal celebration that encourages metal heads from across Canada and the globe to mosh and camp with the backdrop of great outdoors of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. What started as a backyard party in 2009 with nothing but eleven local metal bands such as Terrifier, Xul and Odinfist to name a few, has grown into a a huge success admired by the Western Canadian Metal scene. 2016 will be the eighth year of the festival and is planned to be the largest year for music and attendance yet.
This year’s team of organizers known as the West Metal Entertainment Society is the most dedicated to date and are excited to present an incredible line up, along with some changes to come for AMF 2016. UK Sludge Metal band VICTORIAN WHORE DOGS are pleased to announce that they have finished work on their debut full-length Afternoonified. Victorian Whore Dogs are a Sludge/Post-Hardcore band from Guildford, combining the influences of bands such as Will Haven, Neurosis, Vision Of Disorder and Iron Monkey to make a disgusting Sludge fest of pounding riffs, slow tempos and abrasive vocals.
The four piece’s unique brand of psychotic sludge has earned them a stature in the British doom underground with their uncompromising heaviness laced with abnormal humour and debauched stage show.
VWD have been gigging relentlessly throughout the United Kingdom including a North UK tour with Lord Misery and Burden of the Noose as well as playing with the likes of Conan, Ortega and We are Knuckle Dragger, broadcasting their brand of “Sexy Hobo Tramp core” to anyone willing (or unwilling) to hear it.

THIRD ION – Prog Metal outfit THIRD ION, featuring former members of THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND and INTO ETERNITY, has announced that the band’s new vocalist is none other than Dave Padden (ex-ANNIHILATOR)! Padden replaces departed vocalist Tyler Gilbert. The band issued the following statement about the lineup change:
“Sadly, after our last gigs, our singer Tyler informed us he was leaving the band. We loved having him, but his heart and passion lie with his own music. We wish him all the best and good luck with his future! Right away we wasted no time and got right on the search for a new singer. Dave’s demo blew us away, and not to mention he has an incredible amount of experience! New York, NY (January 28th, 2016) – The Dead Daisies are proud to announce the addition of Doug Aldrich to the lineup as lead guitarist of the powerful music collective. Guitarist Richard Fortus and keyboardist Dizzy Reed will be stepping aside to be a part of a momentous project in 2016.
Aldrich is currently in Nashville with the Daisies working with producer Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Gavin Rossdale, Mötley Crüe, Buckcherry) on their follow-up to the album Revolución, released last year following the bands trip to Cuba, where the classic rock group were part of a cultural exchange as guests of the Cuban Ministry of Culture, Cuban Institute of Music and the Cuban Rock Agency. The still untitled album will be released globally on SPV Records later this year.
Aldrich joins bassist Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), guitarist David Lowy (MINK, Red Phoenix), John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, The Scream) on vocals and Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol) on drums.
“I’m very, very happy to join my friends Marco, Brian, John and David in the next chapter of The Dead Daisies,” proclaims Aldrich. “I love the band and I’m looking forward to getting busy on the new record. This band is bringing back a raw, back to the bones sound that a lot of groups go for but The Dead Daisies are looking to nail. At this point in time, we are looking to have a kick ass Rock ‘n’ Roll album in the can by spring 2016.”
Fortus couldn’t be happier, saying: “When we started speaking about finding someone to replace me, the first suggestion I had was Doug Aldrich. It doesn’t get any better than Doug in my book. I am so happy that he is able and willing to step in and take over. I think that it will elevate the band to the next level. David Lowy, one of the original founders of The Dead Daisies said: “We’re really going to miss Richard and Dizzy. We’re very excited to announce Doug Aldrich will be joining The Dead Daisies in the lead guitar role. Doug was Richard’s first pick to replace him. Since exploding onto the scene in 2013, The Dead Daisies have taken the Classic Rock world by storm, releasing two albums to date & touring with the biggest names in rock including: ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Judas Priest, KISS and Def Leppard.

JIMMY BAIN – Distinguished bassist Jimmy Bain passed away over this past weekend. Jimmy now reunites with his former legendary bandmates Ronnie James Dio, Cozy Powell, Gary Moore and Phil Lynott; an unbelievable list of musical greats that are now performing on another heavenly plane. Born in Scotland, back on December 19th, 1947, Jimmy Bain was only 68 years old.
Jimmy Bain was a long-time member of DIO, being featured on several of DIO’s studio albums. Jimmy Bain also recorded and toured for Rainbow in the mid 70’s. He later co-founded in 1978 the British Rock supergroup: Wild Horses.Before his passing, Jimmy Bain was the bassist for Last In Line; an all-star band of past DIO musicians.
Metal Odyssey expresses condolences to the family, bandmates and friends of Jimmy Bain. Rest in peace, Jimmy Bain.

The fourth studio album of Fear of Domination is titled Atlas and it will be released on March 11. It is the darkest and heaviest masterpiece FoD has ever done.
The Finnish shock Industrial Metal band Fear of Domination will give a totally new definition to “spring break” by unleashing its fourth studio album Atlas,on March 11. The vocalist and the lyricist of the band Saku Solin describes Atlas as the darkest and the heaviest album the band has ever done.
Solin describes, that Atlas is about the moment, when all the light in the world has faded, and a human being is left to wander with his crushing burden.
“The question is, is the burden self-created, imagined or concrete. We’ve all had a bit of an emotion-filled year. I think we have efficiently packed primitive rage, desperation and misery here. It wasn’t a conscious decision. This is how we felt, and fuck, we did what had to be done.”
The string instruments are crunching lower than before and the composer and keyboardist of the band Lasse Raelahti has created a harmony of chaos and beauty with his synthesizer. Fans were given the first taste of blood, when the band released the music video single El Toro in the autumn.
The lyrics of the album are also more straight and brutal than before.The vocal producer Helena Haaparanta whipped everything out of the singer. Solin reveals from the album, that the rasp and growl vocals can change quickly to “freakishly annoyingly poppish” singing.

The drums and the basses were recorded in D-studio, the guitars in the apartment of the lead guitarist and composer Johannes Niemi and the vocals in another studio in city of Kerava. The producers Alex Azzali and Nicholas Barker mixed and mastered the album in Italy. The cover art is created by Timo Kokko.
Fear of Domination is ready for the live-shows of the spring and is more insane than ever. The band is famous for their theatrical and half-crazy shows filled with energy. The year 2016 started with sold out MeriRock in January and will continue with three-day tour of MetalOrgy.

Capturing the classic Thrash sound of the Big Four in their prime; early Metallica, Testament, Slayer, and Megadeth as well as lesser known cult heroes Exodus, Annihilator, Forbidden and Havok. FALLEN ANGELS is influenced by a wide range of 80’s thrash as well as classic metal from the 70’s and 80’s. The band combines these elements in a fresh, modern sounding album with the explosive riffs and solos that one might have expected to hear on the radio around 1989. FALLEN ANGELS is a band that Thrash fans and more classic Metal oriented fans can agree on because the music is catchy but also very aggressive.
Centipede is a heavy hitting Stoner Metal trio from Helsinki, Finland. Formed in 2011, they have released two well received EP’s and a 7” split. Sarnath is the Centipede’s debut full length album that resumes from where the band left off with their previous Brazen Bull EP. 8 songs of heavy Stoner Metal brings together the different sides of Centipede: slow stomping and fast pummeling. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, part of the record forms a story of a doomed city that also gives its name to the album.
In addition to a digital release there will be a small batch of CDs and with the record release a two-song 12″ vinyl single that comes with a download code for the whole album. The album is released March 4th 2016 by Inverse Records.

One of the UK’s premier purveyors of Metalcore, Bury Tomorrow visit hmv to perform live and sign copies of their new album ‘Earthbound’.
Bury Tomorrow release their eagerly anticipated new album ‘Earthbound’, the follow up to 2014’s UK rock chart number 1 record ‘Runes’. Frontman Dani Winter-Bates says of ‘Earthbound’, “To me, it feels like the distillation of everything we’ve ever wanted this band to be about. We wanted pace, we wanted heaviness, and for me, personally, I wanted to write a record which was the sonic embodiment of a circle pit. I think we’ve done that.” But while fans of the heavy stuff will find plenty to grasp onto here, it’s the now trademark interplay between Dani and guitarist/singer Jason Cameron which sets ‘Earthbound’ apart. “We’ve always wanted to be like one vocalist in two parts and I think we’ve achieved that here.” Says Dani.
Bury Tomorrow’s ethos has always been a threefold focus on unswerving passion, unrelenting hard work and remorselessly driving, slash ‘n’ burn riffola. They’ve come far from small to 1,000+ capacity venues, but their values remain the same. Dani explains: “To me nothing has changed. I still want to meet every kid who is there, get a picture if they want one and sign something if they want it signed. That’s just the kind of people we are – that’s just the kind of band we are.”

“Jeff Bryan and I recorded the album at my home here in the Okanagan Valley, and we did the absolute majority of the writing in the pre-production and production stages. So much of the material had existed from several years ago, but was completely overhauled and reworked several times to end up in these tracks. We weren’t afraid to try things out and work over several revisions, or to take our hands off of a few of the songs that we felt very comfortable with after only the first revision. Jeff wrote the lyrics for the tracks in less than two months, and a lot of them were written and finalized in the vocal tracking stage, in front of the microphone.
We weren’t afraid to enable our music with production techniques. Many reviews have figured that we used samples or synthesizers in the songs, however the reality is that all of these droning noises, stutters, and otherwise ‘industrial’ sounds are actually either electric guitar or bass guitar, and abusing these instruments in front of their amplifiers with only two guitar effect pedals. The rest of these noises you hear are the interaction with the instrument and their environment.
We then delivered all of the tracks to Stuart McKillop of Rain City Recorders for mixing, and he blew us away. It didn’t take him long at all to catch onto what we were going for, and his consistency from one track to the next brought the tracks to the highest musical apex they could reach. Brad Boatright of Audiosiege handled the mastering, and he made certain that the product was of the outstanding final production quality for us. Brad has really yielded an outstanding quality for so many other abrasive sub-genres of metal and hardcore and he delivered that exact pinnacle of quality for us on this record as well.” – Bowen Matheson

GOMORRAH, originally formed in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia as a Black Metal outfit in 2006, has now grown into an assaulting Death Metal band – ready to unleash their boundary-pushing extreme sound on their second full-length album. Their name is associated with a historical reference to a city mentioned in the Book of Genesis, the Torah and the New Testament. The band’s music conveys a claustrophobic animosity, through punishing guitar work, high-speed drumming, and guttural vocals. The lyrics provide an accessible gateway into the stories told in each song.
