In a display of utter devastation and dark grandeur, post-deathcore act BURIAL PATH have unleashed their foreboding new offering, “Lilitu” featuring guest vocals by Abigail Bexx. “Lilitu” is accompanied with a powerful performance video. The track follows the band’s previous harrowing single release “A Display of Penance”.

Abigail Bexx shares“There’s a quiet pressure that comes with being a woman in extreme music. Before you open your mouth, people have already decided what you’ll sound like, what you’ll be capable of, or whether you belong at all. ‘Lilitu’ was born from that tension. It’s about every woman who’s ever felt reduced to someone else’s expectations and choosing to stand anyway.”

Guitarist Matthew McClure comments“‘Lilitu’ is about rejecting imposed identity. The song progresses through several emotions, from recognizing the oppression of imposed identity to reclaiming one’s true identity and the freedom from that imposition. This is a psalm of rejecting the ‘authority’ that imposes identity and fighting the ideology that sustains it.”

In “Lilitu”, BURIAL PATH unearth obliterating intensity through crushing rhythms, deafening gutturals and ethereal orchestration. The power and anguish of this track is inescapable. The musical arrangement provides no moment of rest; the momentum is unceasing from its onset. “Lilitu” exposes the suffering and oppression of women. Lyrically, BURIAL PATH draw upon religious imagery and ideas that are often used to reinforce patriarchal inequality.

BURIAL PATH Release New Single And Video “A Display of Penance”

Ferocious post-deathcore act BURIAL PATH present their latest single “A Display of Penance”. The unfaltering brutality of this shadowy offering sees the band present a haunting sonic display of enduring struggles with mental illness.

Watch “A Display of Penance HERE: https://youtu.be/3jvjaW5fzng

An introspective and raw track, lyrically “A Display of Penance” draws upon parasitic imagery to illustrate the ongoing and often repeating nature of depression. BURIAL PATH craft an eerie atmosphere that bleeds through the single’s crushing instrumental arrangement.

Vocalist Maya Pobst shares“‘A Display of Penance’ is a song about mental health and how it can latch on like a psychological parasite. Most of the song is from the parasite’s perspective, finding its new victim to latch onto and corrupt from the inside.” Pobst continues, “Over time, the host almost finds comfort in the familiarity of the Parasite despite the great deal of pain it’s causing. As we move into the interlude and verse 2, the host has decided to fight back against its mental oppressor and seeks to destroy it, only for it to eventually come back and be ever so present by the end of the song. To me this represents the cyclic journey of dealing with mental illness and experiencing the periods of mania versus depression.”

In “A Display of Penance,” BURIAL PATH deliver a monstrous onslaught comprised of intense, thundering percussion, violent rhythms and Pobst’s monstrous gutturals. Injecting melodic orchestral strings and ghostly piano notes, the band ventures further into the otherworldly as it enhances the enveloping darkness.

Encompassed in ritualistic symbolism of decay, the accompanying music video brings to life the disturbing figure of the parasite along with the harrowing pain and solitude it represents.

Emerging from the crucible of reinvention, BURIAL PATH, one of the most electrifying voices in the deathcore underground, has released their latest single Magnum Opus.”

Watch “Magnum Opus” Here: https://youtu.be/oOg_XESjhiw

From the opening surge to its final resonance, “Magnum Opus” embodies the transformative journey of the self: from destruction, to dissolution, to rebirth in gold. It is a sonic alchemy that combines visceral intensity with hauntingly ethereal soundscapes, evoking both the brutality of collapse and the beauty of transcendence.

“From flame to form, the self dissolves and reignites. Gold flows where the old self burned. The great work begins,” the band declares.

The single’s lyrics delve deep into themes of ego death, purification, and rebirth, drawing on esoteric imagery:

‘Calcination, a rebirth takes hold,
Through vitriol these veins flow of gold.
Ego death, reflection, unification within the cycle…’

With “Magnum Opus” BURIAL PATH continues to redefine deathcore, expanding the genre’s boundaries with both philosophical depth and sonic ferocity. The track serves not only as a declaration of artistic evolution but also as a ritualistic invocation, a call to embrace transformation in all its violent, radiant beauty.
