Metal Singer-Songwriter WHITE CRONE Releases New Single “Prognosticator”

Heavy metal enchantress WHITE CRONE has released her latest single “Prognosticator”. The hard-rocking single conjures up the magic of another time both in its lyrics and in its feel. The music recalls metal classics such as DIO and JUDAS PRIEST, while the lyrics whisk the listener into a world full of darkness and corruption. Vocalist and composer Lisa Mann howls her condemned protagonist’s tale with elegant fury.

About WHITE CRONE:
Based out of Portland, Oregon, WHITE CRONE is the metal brainchild of award-winning blues artist and bassist/vocalist Lisa Mann. Growing up in the mosh pits of the 80s, she was inspired by bands such as IRON MAIDEN, MERCYFUL FATE, BLACK SABBATH, MANOWAR, DIO, and more. A mostly one-woman project, WHITE CRONE is a love letter to this grand era of metal, and a lyrical homage to mystical storytelling traditions of yore.

In 2020 she channeled all those influences and released her debut album as WHITE CRONE, the critically acclaimed The Poisoner. For the first time, she featured not only on bass guitar and vocals, but on 7-string guitar as well. Larry London provided most of the drums, save for one track featuring the legendary Vinny Appice (BLACK SABBATH, DIO).

Now she is poised to release a follow-up album, of which the title track, “Prognosticator”, is the first single. The song “Prognosticator” is a fast-paced, prog-adjacent power metal romp which tells the preternatural origin story of the character WHITE CRONE, retaining the occult storytelling elements of the first album. It is the tale of a self-fulfilling astrological prophecy.

ARMORED SAINT To Reissue Special LP Editions Of Revelation And La Raza Full-Lengths On August 16th, Via Metal Blade Records – Preorders Available

Iconic heavy metallers ARMORED SAINT will reissue their Revelation and La Raza full-lengths on vinyl August 16th via Metal Blade Records.

Revelation is the fifth studio album from the band, originally released in 2000 on Metal Blade Records, and now available for the first time on vinyl in the US. The song “The Pillar” was originally written for the 1992 horror film Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth where the band makes a cameo appearance as a bar band performing the song “Hanging Judge” at the Boiler Room club.

Recalls bassist Joey Vera, “The story for ‘The Pillar’ was that sometime in 1991 we were approached by the producers for Hellraiser to write a song for the end credits of the movie. They had already agreed to give us the song ‘Hanging Judge’ and a part in the film. So we wrote ‘The Pillar’ which later they passed on and instead they decided to go with ‘Hell On Earth’ by Motörhead. If we’re gonna lose out, better that it’s by Motörhead!”

ARMORED SAINT’s Revelation was produced by Vera with executive producer Brian Slagel, mixed by Bill Metoyer, mastered for vinyl by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony in March 2024. Long-running heavy metal icons, SATAN, will spend September roadbound on a nearly month-long European tour. The journey begins with seven dates through the UK and Ireland with special guests, Seven Sisters followed by a stop at Pyrenean Warriors Open Air Fest in Torreilles, France. From there, the band will wind their way through sixteen more cities throughout Europe alongside Haunt and Hellfire. Tickets are on sale now. See all confirmed dates below.

Circle Of Life sees the five-piece surrounding founder and iconic guitarist Herman Frank not only effortlessly build on earlier feats, but also sounds stronger than ever. Naturally, the excellent reputation of a successful hard rock act such as VICTORY is based, among other things, on the superb achievements of their long-standing career. The early days of the Hanover-based group date back to the 1980s and include immortal album classics and successful tours around the globe. However, none of this would account for much or would indeed be classed as anything but nostalgia if their present accomplishments weren’t on a par with the band’s impressive past. 

All of the ten new album tracks were recorded by Herman Frank together with vocalist Gianni Pontillo, rhythm guitarist Mike Pesin, bassist Malte Frederik Burkert and drummer Michael Stein at Hanover’s famous Horus Sound Studios, featuring a mix courtesy of sound engineer Arne Neurand.

Metal mavens, WARHOG, are storming the airwaves with the release of their thunderous new single, “Emperor,” available now alongside a lyric video. This track is the latest assault from the band’s upcoming EP, The Dystopian Chronicles, Vol. 1, scheduled to drop on June 28th, 2024 and it promises to be a relentless anthem for fans old and new.

“Emperor” delves deep into the themes of unchecked ego and the insatiable desire for control, mirroring the ominous shadows cast by societal power struggles visible around the globe today. The single serves as a stark reminder of what happens when the darkest parts of our psyche prevail.

ARMORED SAINT Releases Rendition Of “One Chain (Don’t Make No Prison)” – Video/Single Now Playing

ARMORED SAINT, leaders and stalwarts of the American heavy metal scene since the early 1980s, are back with a brilliant rendition of “One Chain (Don’t Make No Prison).” The classictrack was originally written by Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter and was first released by People in 1970. Additional covers include The Four Tops (1974), Santana (1978), and The Doobie Brothers (1989).

Comments vocalist John Bush, “[Bassist] Joey [Vera] came up with the idea of doing the song. We’ve always been huge fans of old school soul and R&B music so it was a no brainer. It’s got a great groove, perfect for our rhythm section, and Jeff [Duncan]’s and Phil [Sandoval]’s guitars are screaming. Plus, the cool lyrics make it ideal for the ‘SAINT style. Levi Stubbs [The Four Tops] was such a rad singer; I just tried to do him justice. I think this would make him a metal fan!”

Album ONE Alive!”, the title of W.A.S.P.’s upcoming North American Tour. August 17, 2024, marks the 40th anniversary of the release of W.A.S.P.’s first album. We have become accustomed to living with lies and hoaxes, which are the new truth… making the infamous Göbbels right: “A lie repeated a thousand times becomes a truth.”

AMORPHIS Confirms North American Co-Headlining Tour With Dark Tranquillity – Tickets On Sale This Friday

Finnish metal legends AMORPHIS will return to North America this Fall on a co-headlining tour with their comrades in Dark Tranquillity. The journey, which will hit over two dozen cities, will commence on September 3rd in Richmond, Virginia and closes on October 6th in New York City. Support will be provided by Fires In The Distance.

AMORPHIS comments, “We are more than excited to announce this tour with our brothers from Sweden, Dark Tranquillity. It’s been a while, and we certainly miss our North American fans. It will be a one-of-a-kind Scandinavian death metal package with both bands performing in a headliner status every night. We’ll blast through the continent like a storm; so see you all there and let’s have a metal night to remember.”

Heavy metal fans, prepare for the most electrifying tour of the year! Heavy metal frontrunners KK’S PRIEST – featuring Judas Priest alum and GRAMMY Award winning/nominated musicians K.K. Downing (guitar) and Tim “Ripper” Owens (vocals) – and Teutonic metal originators ACCEPT will join forces this fall 2024 for an unmissable North American tour!
