Los Angeles, CA – Following on the footsteps of the hugely successful North American “Surfing to Shockwave” tour, Joe Satriani announces his upcoming European tour dates beginning June 18th in France. The tour will touch 11 countries in all, including Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland – in just one month of touring. A few of these stops will be G3 dates featuring Satriani joined by Steve Vai and the Aristocrats (see below for details).

The North American leg wrapped up late April in Vancouver after a full-on 2-month tour where the hard-working guitarist hit 48 dates in the U.S. and Canada, many of which were sold-out in advance. The “Surfing to Shockwave” tour is in celebration of the guitar icon’s “30 Years of Mind-Bending Guitar Daredevilry,” a phrase coined in a June 2014 career-defining retrospective feature in Rolling Stone. Each night, SATRIANI spotlights music from his first solo album, “Not of this Earth” through his latest release, his 15th solo album, “Shockwave Supernova”.

During the tour, concert going fans were able to enter the “Little Kids Rock” raffle with a chance to win a signed JS 20th Anniversary Ibanez guitar. Over 2000 concert fans purchased a tix with the grand prize winners, Brian & Debbie Currier, chosen last month. On June 4th, Brian & Debbie flew to meet Joe and receive the autographed guitar. The funds raised through the raffle will enable Little Kids Rock to bring the transformational gift of music to more than 700 public school children by helping launch Modern Band music programs in schools that may otherwise be in danger of having their music programming eliminated due to budget cuts.

Little Kids Rock provides professional development training to music teachers and donates all of the instruments and curriculum they need to teach their students to play the popular musical styles that they know and love on day one! (Los Angeles – May 12, 2015) Legendary guitarist, JOE SATRIANI, announces plans to release his 15th solo studio album, Shockwave Supernova, on July 24th, making him one of the first to utilize the new “Friday, Global Release Day” for music.

It would be easy to call Shockwave Supernova a “masterpiece” or “the last word on guitar” from the world’s most commercially successful solo guitar performer. Satch, however, sees it much more personally. He has consistently advanced the artistry of the instrument; an effort he dedicated himself to on September 18, 1970, the day his idol Jimi Hendrix died.

Recorded late last year at Skywalker Sound in Lucas Valley, CA, Satriani assembled the dynamic trio of world-class musicians who had recently been part of his global tour; renowned keyboardist and guitarist Mike Keneally, a veteran of several Satch outings and recordings; along with drumming whiz Marco Minnemann and bass extraordinaire Bryan Beller. “I couldn’t have asked for a better band to help bring these songs to life,” says Satriani.

The album also sees Satriani once again joining forces co-producer and engineer John Cuniberti. Satch and Cuniberti share production on Shockwave Supernova, as they have on numerous albums – their shared history dates back to the guitar star’s 1986 debut album, Not Of This Earth and its follow-up, the platinum-selling, critically acclaimed, Surfing with the Alien.

Minnemann and Beller handle the bulk of Shockwave Supernova’s rhythmic duties, with the exception of four cuts – the driving “Keep On Movin’,” full of wondrous Satch guitar wizardry and Keneally’s playful piano, “In My Pocket,” a deliciously greasy, souped-up take on Swing, along with “Crazy Joey” (a deliriously effervescent romp) and “Scarborough Stomp” (a relentless upbeat rocker) – find Satriani joined by another powerhouse rhythm section: the esteemed drummer Vinnie Colaiuta (whose work includes the likes of Frank Zappa, Sting, Paul Simon, among others) and Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney (whose resume includes Alanis Morrisette, Celine Dion and Rob Zombie, to name a few).

Recently, during the final performance of his two-year Unstoppable Momentum tour, Satriani had an epiphany; he found himself, “playing the guitar with my teeth an awful lot. I thought, ‘Why are you doing this?’ It’s as if something else, or somebody else, was driving me to do it.” Satriani seized upon this moment of self-realization as the springboard and creative center for his alter ego “Shockwave Supernova,” the outlandish and extroverted ‘performance side’ of the normally shy and reserved guitar virtuoso. With this new persona as partner, Satriani launched his wildly ambitious 15th solo album, Shockwave Supernova.

In a creative and engaging alternative venture, Satriani, a lifelong science fiction fan, has reached out to the future, through the medium of animation. Finally recognizing the on-stage symmetry with his alter ego allowed Satriani to also take a risk on this particular style of storytelling. He says, “Guitarist Ned Evett and I have created an animated series called Crystal Planet. The actual Crystal Planet is our very own Earth, set billions of years in the future. “A Benefit for Cliff III” will take place on Friday, June 12^th at 8pm at Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. This event will feature performances by Satriani and Vai, as well as special guests, Animals As Leaders.

In addition to this extraordinary musical event, Satriani and Vai, along with other artists, have graciously donated various items to be auctioned at the event. Among these items are autographed guitars as well as a chance to join Satriani’s “G4 Camp” taking place June 28 – July 2 in Cambria, CA and a package to attend Vai’s camp, “Vai Academy 2015 – All About The Guitar” in Vail, CO, August 2-6 as well.

Cliff Cultreri is the A&R executive who ‘discovered’ Satriani and Vai, as well as many other popular recording artists, while working at Relativity Records and Koch Entertainment. Cultreri is suffering from a host of Auto-Immune and Connective-Tissue disorders that are simultaneously attacking his immune system, a 1 in 100 million occurrence that causes severe pain and physical debilitations. Celebrating Release of Career-Spanning Box Set & Musical Memoir

May 6, 2014 – New York, NY – Joe Satriani will return to the east coast for three special appearances this June to celebrate the release of both, his career-spanning box set, Joe Satriani: The Complete Studio Recordings and his first-ever autobiographical memoir, “Strange Beautiful Music: A Musical Memoir” (benbellabooks.com).

The first of these three shows finds Satriani returning to his hometown, playing The Space at Westbury in Long Island on June 7th. This will be Satriani’s first appearance on Long Island in a number of years and the anticipation level is high. The following Monday, in honor of Les Paul’s 99th birthday, Joe and his band will perform a 2-hour concert at the Iridium in NYC, the home of Les Paul’s legendary, weekly performances for many years. Lastly, Joe and the band will wrap their brief east coast run with a stop in Ridgefield, CT for a show at The Ridgefield Playhouse.

Living Colour will join the world-renowned guitarist when he hits Seattle, WA on October 22nd and will continue through Salem and Paso Robles before winding up on October 26th in SATRIANI’s home base, in the Bay Area, with a show at the Fox Theater in Oakland.

The U.S. tour launches on August 29th in San Diego with Steve Morse as support on the first leg. Now, the guitar great announces his full U.S. tour and first ever cross-Canada tour, supporting his latest album Unstoppable Momentum. The tour is set to launch on August 29th in San Diego, CA before crisscrossing its way across the US, in addition to a trans-Canadian tour where Satriani will be hitting many Canadian cities for the very first time. The North American tour will end with a show on October 26 in Oakland, CA.

Premiering right now exclusively on Rollingstone.com, the video, conceived as a musical journey of sorts, was actually shot as Satriani and his band made their way to the legendary Skywalker Sound studio, on the famed Skywalker Ranch in the Bay Area.

The video features a behind-the-scenes look at the band arriving, setting up and starting the album recording process intercut with a collage of stills from the album cover photo shoot. Produced by Satriani and Mike Fraser (AC/DC), the album features an amazing array of talented players including Vinnie Colauita (Sting, Jeff Beck) on drums, Chris Chaney (Janes Addiction) on bass and on keyboards, Mike Keneally (Dethklok). The Epic Records release will highlight the first single, “A Door Into Summer,” at radio this week, while the video for “A Door Into Summer” premiered exclusively on Rollingstone.com. Satriani will be a guest on the nationally syndicated radio show, “Rockline” hosted by Bob Coburn on May 8th.

“Some of my drawings have made their way on to guitars, straps and picks, LP and CD booklets, t-shirts, hats, keychains, etc and even my live stage productions,” explains Satriani. “This book represents my first effort to finally compile my oddly drawn friends into one place, a wildly colorful portfolio of sorts. A collection of drawings meant to inspire and entertain.”

(Los Angeles, CA) Joe Satriani, one of the most respected and innovative guitarist’s in the world, released his critically-acclaimed live concert Satchurated: Live in Montreal last week on 3D Blu-ray, DVD and Soundtrack CD, through Epic Records and today, the DVD enters at # 3 on The Billboard DVD chart.

Joe is about to hit the road on Friday with his ‘other’ band, Chickenfoot, this Friday but from rehearsals, had this to say:

“Satchurated 3D” DVD is #3!!! Big thanks to all of my fans worldwide for making this happen. See you out there on the road!”

Satchurated was recorded and filmed in front of a live audience during Satriani’s “The Wormhole Tour”, supporting his studio album Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards, at the Metropolis in Montreal, Canada. The December 12, 2010 concert was filmed by GRAMMY and EMMY award-winning concert filmmakers Pierre and Francois Lamoureux. Satchurated: Live in Montreal was recently released for a limited engagement on March 1, 2012 to select theatres throughout the country. The high-definition recording makes Satriani’s performance as much a pleasure to see by DVD, as it is to hear by CD.

(Los Angeles, CA) Joe Satriani, one of the most respected and innovative guitarist’s in the world today, announces the release of the live-concert film, Satchurated: Live in Montreal. Satchurated was filmed live during Satriani’s “The Wormhole Tour”, supporting his studio album Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards at the Metropolis in Montreal, Canada.

The December 12, 2010 concert was filmed by GRAMMY and EMMY award-winning concert filmmakers Pierre and Francois Lamoureux. Satchurated: Live in Montreal will be released to select theatres throughout the country on March 1, 2012 for a limited engagement.

With a total of ten cameras working to capture the sold-out concert, Satriani’s musical best was recorded in both 2D and 3D HD formats. The high-definition filming makes Satriani’s play as much a pleasure to watch as it is to hear. Every chord change is captured and presented as if one were experiencing a living room concert of your very own!

Fans of “Satch” will be eagerly awaiting the film’s worldwide release in March 2012 with theatrical presentations in both 2D and 3D formats, followed by a shorter version for television broadcast. The soundtrack from Satchurated was produced by Satriani and Mike Fraser and will be released on April 10, 2012 through Epic Records.

Over the last two decades, Satriani has traveled the world, playing to sold-out crowds as both a headliner and as founder of the all-star “G3” guitar extravaganza. His studio and live recordings have sold more than 10 Million copies worldwide to date and of his many solo albums, two have gone platinum and four others went gold, with 15 Grammy nominations between them. His side project, Chickenfoot, featuring former Van Halen front man Sammy Hagar, former bassist Michael Anthony, and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith saw their debut album certified gold and have just released their second studio album.

Satriani also appears in the Academy Award-nominated film Moneyball starring Brad Pitt, recreating a National Anthem performance he gave at the 2002 Opening Day of Major League Baseball’s Oakland A’s. In late 2010, music sensation Nicki Minaj sampled the classic Satriani song, “Always With Me Always With You” in her song, “Right Through Me” from her multi-platinum debut album and in March 2012, Satriani will revive his “G3” Tour ‘down-under’ when he is joined by fellow legendary guitarists Steve Vai & Steve Lukather for a Spring tour of Australia & New Zealand.
