Now moving into its sixth consecutive year, Loud As Hell Heavy Metal Festival presented by Semchuk Productions, Jurassic Ink Custom Tattoo, Prairie Fire Events and Asher Media Relations promises a huge line up for 2017 that will feature some of the country’s most talented Metal bands to make the ground rumble in the heart of the Alberta badlands.

Being one of the biggest Metal shows in Western Canada with onsite camping, vendors, tattoo artists, suspension demos, guitar and drum clinics, models and everything else that the big guy probably doesn’t approve of… Loud As Hell is now taking band submissions for its 2017 edition talking place once again in Drumheller, Alberta at the Dinosaur Downs Stampede Grounds from August 4th to 6th.

Philip H. Anselmo’s Housecore Horror Festival Returning For Year Three

Legendary metal frontman and Housecore Records founder, Philip H. Anselmo, is bringing his horror-themed film and metal festival back for a third year. After a great ride in Austin, the festival will kick off in San Antonio, Texas at the Aztec Theater on November 13th – 15th, 2015.

The decision to return was driven by the desire to honor his friend and festival co-founder, Corey Mitchell, who tragically passed away last October. Mitchell was the driving creative force behind the festival’s success and Anselmo believes there is no better way to pay tribute to his friend than to carry on for a third year.

“I’ve got a great team in place to help make this what Corey and I wanted it to be,” he says. “There are a lot of mixed emotions here because no one can replace him. But, we know he would want this to continue and so that’s what we’re going to do. We miss him and think about him every day.”

Bands already confirmed to play are Suffocation, Autopsy, Cripple Bastards, Nails, SYk & Dalila Kayros, YOB, Eyehategod, Child Bite, Warbeast and many more to be announced soon. Maryland Deathfest co-founder Ryan Taylor will be booking bands this year and will help Anselmo craft a musical lineup that would make Mitchell proud.

In addition to showcasing the best in extreme metal, the festival will screen film gems from the personal vaults of both Anselmo and Mitchell. Horror filmmakers are encouraged to submit their films and winners will be selected in various categories and given the coveted Rot-Scar Award. “When Corey and I started this thing, it was important to us that we help independent filmmakers get their incredible work discovered,” Anselmo continues. “Nothing has changed, in that respect.”

Kaotoxin Records Announces First Bands for Kaotoxin Fest #II

After a successful debut, the Kaotoxin Fest will return in 2015 for a second edition that will take place in Lille, France on December 5.

The first festival saw a slew of bands from Kaotoxin Records’ illustrious roster, including  6:33, Ad Patres, Antropofago, Department of Correction, Dehuman, Drawers, Eye Of Solitude, Infected Society, The Lumberjack Feedback, Nephren-Ka, Nolentia, Sidious, Unsu, VxPxOxAxAxWxAxMxC storming the stage at Lille’s El Diablo club. This year’s edition will be centered on Kaotoxin bands who didn’t perform last year. Confirmed names thus far are as follows:

BLASTFEST Announce Final Bands Including WATAIN

The lineup announcements had to come to an end eventually and Blastfest have now revealed the final 3 bands to the main lineup. But that’s not to say what you see on the burgeoning Blastfest poster is all that’s happening. No, no, no, there will be more!

There’s already a lineup that would bring tears to the eyes of even the toughest metalhead with bands such as Demilich, Satyricon, Decapitated, Paradise Lost, At The Gates & Moonsorrow… and just last week a cruise up the Norwegian fjords with live bands was announced as part of the first days festivities. We still have to hear more… the clinics, the stand up comedy, the exhibitions, and lots more have yet to be revealed!

For now, let’s leave this here… Sweden’s Uppsala upstarts, the black metal powerhouse, the entity of its own who released possibly their best work to date just last year with ‘The Hunt’, yes, the mighty Watain have been announced as another Blastfest 2015 headliner. The festival has also welcomed Austria’s sickest death metal export Schrinec Plays Pungent Stench and Bergens blackened deaththrash horde Grimfist.

ANGER AS ART – To Headline Puerto Rico Show For Rock Spot Plus TV; Special ABATTOIR Set Planned

Thrashers ANGER AS ART will be headlining a festival-style show in San Juan, Puerto Rico on December 15th that will be broadcast on TV show Rock Spot Plus. The gig will be recorded/videotaped for possible future release by ANGER AS ART. In addition to performing ANGER AS ART material the band will close out the performance with a short set of ABATTOIR songs.

ANGER AS ART will release Hubris Inc. on February 5th,  2013 via Old School Metal Records. ANGER OF ART founder and Veteran of the Metal Wars Steve Gaines (Abattoir, Bloodlust, Tactics, Bitch, Dreams of Damnation, Pagan War Machine) states that the band’s fourth album, which follows the well-received Disfigure, offers the kind of vicious, memorably penned Thrash/Speed Metal that fans have come to expect without simply retracing the steps taken on previous albums.

Adding to the album’s immense appeal is a range of special guest appearances. “Rage and Retribution” features Betsy Bitch on vocals, Jim Durkin (Dark Angel) on lead guitar and Timothy Gaines (Stryper) on bass. The tour will run from November 2nd – 11th and hit Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Austria and Sweden. Exact cities and venues are currently being confirmed. KRAMPUS – Joins Heidenfest 2012

In the last couple of years, the Heidenfest turned out to be a unique and not-to-be-missed tour package when it comes to the biggest names in the field of heathen/viking metal and bands offering you the best in between war anthems and drinking horn frenzy! Which is why the 2012 line up looks like the wet dream of every heathen metal warrior again:

Headlining will be mighty genre legends WINTERSUN from Finland! It took mastermind Jari Mäenpää and his brethren exactly one album to write folk and melodic death metal history: “Wintersun” came out in 2004 and will be followed by a new milestone around the tour.

“We are very excited to announce that we are going to be headlining the 2012 Heidenfest Tour in October. There was some setbacks with the album during the winter (again), but as usual we have managed to ram through them. (Big thanks to our management for helping us through the tough times!). I´ve been mixing my ass off and things are going smooth and steady now and the album will be released late summer. Stay tuned for bigger updates about the album (or should we say “albums”, wink wink!)“ Jari and the Wintersun boys, cheers!

Fellow Finns KORPIKLAANI have an equally impressive fan base to boast and with albums such as “Ukon Wacka” (2011) they deliver the goods in a party-friendly “Pelimanni metal” way! Rising German force VARG on the other hand call their troops to war with some powerful pagan metal tunes while Norwegians TROLLFEST up the ante with a healthy dose of black humour – and supreme folky heaviness! TROLLFEST will be releasing their brand new album “Brumlebassen” on August 24 and VARG will unleash their new beast on October 19, right in time for the HEIDENFEST tour!

Opening act on this tour will be Italian modern folk metal outfit KRAMPUS, who won the Rock The Nation award 2011. KRAMPUS offer an eclectic array of folk sounds with the usage of bagpipes, flutes, whistles, violins, and the Irish Bouzouki partnered with the modern metal sounds of heavy guitars, aggressive vocals, and melodic keyboards.

In addition to creating a new breed of sound, KRAMPUS´ focus on their lyrical content while addressing themes such as issues with humanity and nature, and environmental awareness. They´ll be appearing on this years edition of METALCAMP festival in August and the same month they´ll be releasing their long-awaited debut album. Fear the Krampus!

WIZARD – To Play In The U.S. At The Ragnarökkr Metal Apocalypse & Other World Tour Dates

Back in November, we’ve announced that WIZARD will play their first gig in the U.S. at the Ragnarökkr Metal Apocalypse, North America’s greatest True Metal fest! The flights are booked and the countdown’s on.

On May 19th Wizard will headline the festival in Joliet, IL near Chicago and play with bands such as Virgin Steele, Skull Fist, Brocas Helm and many more!

The 2-day ticket is available for $40 at http://www.ragnarokkrmetal.com where you’ll also find additional information about the festival.

Next week on March 17th WIZARD will spill the blood of their enemies at the Hammerfest (Prestatyn, UK) together with Amon Amarth, Dream Evil, Hell and others. They’ll play from 07:15 PM until 08:15 PM at Stage One.  Criminal will play at the same stage later that night from 01 AM until 02 AM.

On April 14th Wizard are back in the Czech Republic, where they will celebrate the Metal together with Paragon and more at Pilzen’s Klub Serikovka!
