LAMB OF GOD Release New Song and Music Video “Parasocial Christ”

“Parasocial Christ” digital single cover

RICHMOND, Va. – Lamb of God have released “Parasocial Christ” (https://lamb-of-god.lnk.to/ParasocialChrist), a relentless three-minute assault that once again pairs the Richmond metal titans with longtime producer Josh Wilbur. The standalone single follows “Sepsis,” which has dominated the U.S. metal charts for the past two weeks.

The song arrives alongside a stark, desaturated video directed by Jon Vulpine, whose unsettling visual style mirrors the track’s intensity as it captures a man’s descent into madness.

“The Information Age has birthed the attention economy, an industry worth hundreds of billions of dollars anchored in keeping eyeballs firmly glued to screens, thus generating ad revenue. Every second spent clicking and scrolling through the trivial and/or sordid details of other people’s lives, people that you will most likely never meet- celebrities, politicians, influencers- is another dollar in some already obscenely wealthy tech bro’s wallet,” Randy Blythe shares about the themes behind the track.

“You are a product, and you are being sold in a marketplace you have no share in. The irony of you reading this some social media platform or music news aggregator site is not lost on me; nevertheless I hope this song might make you consider who and what you give your attention to. Fuck the clickbait, put down the phone, go live your life- it’s waiting for you out in what’s left of the real world.”

The arrival of “Parasocial Christ” coincides with the on-sale for Lamb of God’s Spring 2026 North American tour, featuring support from Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg. Tickets and VIP packages are available now via Lamb-of-god.com/tour.

“We are beyond thrilled to announce the loudest, proudest, floor shakin’-est, earth quakin’-est, ear-splittin’-est, mosh pittin’-est, undiluted, undisputed HEAVIEST tour of the whole damn year,” Mark Morton said earlier this week as the band announced the trek. “Is this the largest collection of RIFFS ever assembled under one roof? It would seem so. Lamb of God, Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg. Do not miss this shit.”

Watch: Vogg of DECAPITATED Joined GOJIRA On Stage in Kraków, Poland

Posted in Death Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, music videos, news with tags , , , , , , , on September 2, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Fans at Tauron Arena were treated to a special moment on August 19th when Wacław “Vogg” Kiełtyka, guitarist of Polish death metal titans DECAPITATED, joined French metal juggernauts GOJIRA on stage. Vogg stepped in for a blistering performance of GOJIRA’s classic track “From The Sky.”

The collaboration electrified the audience, who erupted as the two forces of modern metal united in Kraków. GOJIRA, known for their crushing riffs and atmospheric intensity, welcomed Vogg with open arms, marking a powerful meeting between two of the most influential bands in contemporary heavy music.

“This was a truly unforgettable night,” said Vogg after the show. “I had the unimaginable pleasure and honor of performing From The Sky with my dear friends from the mighty Gojira. It was one of the most unforgettable and epic moments of my entire music life. I am still blown away by how amazing the time was with them in my hometown of Kraków. I will never forget this day.”

Gojira – “From The Sky” with Vogg (Live at TAURON Arena in Kraków, Poland, 19.08.2025): https://youtu.be/mpBt85iDN0Y

GOJIRA’s performance in Kraków was part of their ongoing tour, bringing their acclaimed sound to audiences across Europe with support from KERRY KING. The addition of Vogg highlighted the band’s close ties with the global metal community and underscored their mutual respect for one another’s artistry.

The night will be remembered as a milestone for Polish fans, witnessing a rare and monumental collaboration on home soil.

About DECAPITATED:

Across eight studio albums, DECAPITATED grew from the adolescent dream of teenagers from a small Central European town to one of the leaders of the metal genre. Each successive album further expands the band’s sound with genre-bending authenticity and integrity. As Metal Injection rightfully observed, “any self-respecting death metalhead knows the name well.”

DECAPITATED’s music is a weapon forged by four young men from a historic medieval-fortified town in Poland, which catapulted them to the top of a worldwide subculture. Like a rose in the devil’s garden, the DECAPITATED story builds triumph from tragedy. The gleeful grotesquery of extreme metal imagery and rifftastic bludgeoning beckons listeners to uncover broader truths.

Vogg and his younger brother, drummer Witold “Vitek” Kiełtyka, co-founded DECAPITATED in 1996. The rule-breaking ferocity and invention of their first four albums reinvigorated death metal. Sadly, this era came to a shocking end in late 2007, when the band’s bus collided with a large truck near the Russian border with Belarus. Vitek tragically passed away from his injuries. He was just 23.

Vogg summoned the courage to continue, in honor of his brother and what they created, and returned with a new incarnation of DECAPITATED and the fiercely adventurous comeback album, Carnival is Forever (2011). Anticult (2017) increased the musical diversity without sacrificing their signature sound.

The devoted supporters who traveled to see DECAPITATED on international tours with the likes of Lamb Of God, Meshuggah, and Soulfly over the years will recognize the ever-present pummeling backbone of Cancer Culture (2022). Driven by Vogg’s passion and integrity, the dual emphasis on invention and skill maintains DECAPITATED’s stature as genre-leaders in 2025 and beyond.

AMORPHIS – Present Music Video For Swinging “Dancing Shadow” Single

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on August 11, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

With “Dancing Shadow,” Finnish metal icons AMORPHIS are proud to present the final audiovisual appetiser of their new studio album Borderland (September 26, 2025 via Reigning Phoenix Music) before their stage comeback in just a few weeks. The song follows two superbly embraced singles, and is yet another hit out of the group’s sound forge as it’s blessed with all ingredients to get at least equally well-received by the worldwide music community.

Thoughtful verses remind of the uncertain times in everyone’s lives to make fans escape from this dejecting state of mind into the suffusing light of the moon which shines through the darkest of all woods. But to contrast the song’s depth, AMORPHIS successfully crossed the genre ‘borderland’ resulting in an irresistible track full of twisting moments. “Dancing Shadow” finally closes on its peak, before you just have to play it from the beginning over and over again.

“The working title for ‘Dancing Shadow’ was ‘Disco Tiger.’ Musically it represents catchiness and hooks that have been familiar elements within our music for a long time. Sound-wise it came out pretty fresh and even modern. I bet this song will shake your legs on the dance floor – in a METAL disco, of course,” states guitarist Esa Holopainen.

Drummer Jan Rechberger adds“With ‘Dancing Shadow,’ we stepped into completely new territory. For a band with over three decades behind us, that kind of reinvention feels meaningful.”

Like its predecessor “Bones,” AMORPHIS’ latest single has also been visualised under the aegis of  Patric Ullaeus, and takes fans of the band into a black-and-white dominated setting, highlighting the piece’s core message in a captivating way.

Strap on your astronaut helmets and say sayonara to Japan! HELLOWEEN are blasting off, leaving behind the electrifying energy of their powerful lead single “This Is Tokyo” and setting a course for something even more spectacular: outer space.

Written by guitarist Sascha Gerstner, “Universe (Gravity For Hearts)” is a stunning, cinematic journey that does more than evoke the vast mystery of the cosmos. It reminds us of the boundless possibilities that lie beyond our world. The universe is an endless expanse, a place where it’s easy to get lost in thought, but also where we can tap into unknown energy and find the strength to overcome life’s greatest challenges.

HELLOWEEN’s latest single is a wild, emotional ride and a powerful reminder of something we too often forget: never stop dreaming.

“Everything in the universe is connected, and what looks like infinite stars could in reality be moments, hearts, and choices,”explains Gerstner.

L-R:
Daniel Löble (drums), Michael Weikath (guitars), Markus Grosskopf (bass),
Michael Kiske (vocals), Sascha Gerstner (guitars), Andi Deris (vocals),
Kai Hansen (guitars, vocals)

“Universe (Gravity For Hearts)” opens with spacey guitar work and Michael Kiske’s signature high-pitched yet deeply soulful vocals, just before a thunderstorm of guitars, bass, and drums launches the 8.5-minute epic into full motion. It’s a high-speed musical escape from everyday life, crafted in the unmistakable style only the German metal legends can deliver.

Breathing room is a rare commodity in HELLOWEEN’s world, and their new track is no exception. With relentless drumming, intergalactic guitar tapping, and a jaw-dropping solo section, “Universe (Gravity For Hearts)” confidently joins the ranks of iconic long-form tracks like “Halloween”, “Keeper Of The Seven Keys”, and 2021’s “Skyfall.”

So buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Following the strong impact of their first two singles, The Enemy Within and Act of Insurrection, the band closes this first chapter with Moon, a track that reveals the emotional and atmospheric side of Invincia’s sound. Deeply influenced by the theatrical flair of Savatage and the early prog-metal mysticism of Queensrÿche, the song delivers soaring vocals, melancholic melodies, and an epic build that explodes into a powerful climax.

Tracklist – The Enemy Within EP:
1.The Enemy Within

The EP was mixed and mastered by renowned producer Erik Mårtensson (Eclipse, W.E.T.) at Mass Destruction Production, ensuring a rich, polished sound that captures the band’s musical depth and dynamic range.

It’s a mystic and emotional ballad inspired by the powerful nordic nature and a rich storytelling tradition.” says guitarist and founder Joel Karlsson

Despite being 100% independent, Invincia has already gained early recognition in the Nordic Metal scene, including both first 2 singles in Spotify’s official “Metallia Suomesta” playlist, and a growing global audience. The band’s blend of classic Heavy Metal influence, (Savatage, Helloween, Queensryche, Judas Priest, Dio), with contemporary emotions and storytelling is quickly making them one to watch.

Posted in Heavy Metal, melodic death metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, modern metal, Music, music news, music videos, news with tags , , , , , , , on June 2, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Watch “The Nihilist” HERE.

5RAND have officially signed with Art Gates Records for the release of their upcoming third album. This new alliance marks a significant step forward in the band’s evolution, as they continue to refine their signature blend of modern heaviness and cinematic atmosphere.

To celebrate the signing, the band has unveiled a brand-new single,“The Nihilist”, featuring Milofrom Fear Factory. The track delivers a fierce mix of punishing riffs, industrial undertones, and emotionally raw vocals, accompanied by a powerful music video that explores themes of identity loss and psychological inversion. “The Nihilist” offers a first glimpse into the darker, more introspective sound of their forthcoming record, due out in November 2025.

Watch “The Nihilist” HERE.

Hailing from Rome, Italy, 5RAND builds on a punishing modern metal foundation, layered with the cinematic depth of melodic death metal, creating an intense and emotionally immersive soundscape. Fronted by the dynamic dual vocals of Julia Elenoir, shifting seamlessly from visceral growls to haunting clean melodies, the band has carved out a distinctive place in the modern metal scene.

Founded by Pierluigi Carocci (guitar), Acey Guns (bass), Andrea De Carolis (drums), and Elenoir (vocals), 5RAND first made waves with their debut Sacred/Scared, followed by the critically acclaimed Dark Mother. The band has since toured extensively across Europe, sharing the stage with iconic acts such as Dark TranquillityVaderButcher BabiesInfected Rain, and many others.

In 2025, 5RAND will unveil their most ambitious work to date, a bold new album mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, featuring a powerful guest appearance by the new Fear Factory vocalist, Milo Silvestro. This upcoming release signals a sonic evolution: darker, more introspective, and conceptually daring.

The band’s name, drawn from a chance encounter with a shaman and a South African 5 Rand coin, symbolizes unexpected paths and transformative experiences. Their music explores themes of identity, emotional detachment, philosophy, and human resilience, all woven together through a multidisciplinary artistic vision that spans both sound and visuals.

Watch “Starbound” Here: https://youtu.be/qCf_xjzIdQY

Technical death metal force EXTERMINATUS has unveiled a new guitar playthrough video for “Starbound,” the third track from their latest album Echoes From A Distant Star Part 1. Shot on a vibrant spring day in Vancouver, this video captures not only the technical finesse of guitarists Elia Baghbaniyan (KIESEL) and Tabreez Azad (SCHECTER), but also a striking contrast between the band’s heavy, groove-infused sound and the serene setting of Habitat Island.

Starbound” is one of the more melodic and rhythmically driven songs on Echoes From A Distant Star Part 1, showcasing EXTERMINATUS’s ability to weave atmosphere and groove into their technically dense compositions. The track is filled with uplifting leads, dynamic riff changes, and tight synchronization between both guitarists, making it a standout moment on the record and a fan favorite for playthrough content.

The video places Baghbaniyan and Azad in the heart of nature, juxtaposing the raw aggression of their playing with the peaceful backdrop of Vancouver’s coast. It’s a visual reminder of the scope and depth of EXTERMINATUS’s music: brutal yet precise, heavy yet thoughtful, grounded in earth yet reaching for the stars.

Echoes From A Distant Star Part 1 is now streaming on all major platforms and available for purchase at: https://exterminatus.bandcamp.com.

The album explores themes of cosmic evolution, artificial intelligence, and the existential terror of infinite recurrence, all brought to life through relentless riffs, atmospheric compositions, and blistering technicality.

  • Tabreez Azad – Guitar/Vocals
  • Elia Baghbaniyan – Guitar
  • Luka Bresan – Lead Vocals

Modern Metal Supergroup CYHRA Release New Song “Mark Of My Sins”

Modern Metal Supergroup CYHRA (Featuring AMARANTHE Co-Founder Jake E. And Current THE HALO EFFECT, KAMELOT, THE CROWN And SUBURBAN TRIBE Members) Unleash Powerful New Single “Mark Of My Sins”

Swedish melodic metal supergroup CYHRA are continuing to take the metal world by storm with the release of their new digital single “Mark of My Sins“. While the group is composed of legendary musicians, “Mark of My Sins” proves that Cyhra is no mere supergroup, but instead a band that produces music on par with anything they have previously released.

A high bar, but one that they consistently meet. This is the sound of a band leveling up: Massive riffs, stadium-sized hooks, and a chorus that refuses to leave your head. Heavy, melodic, and packed with raw intensity, this song is built to be played loud.

Frontman Jake E comments, ” ‘Mark of My Sins’ is one of the most powerful songs we’ve ever written. It’s raw, intense, and full of emotion, everything we love about CYHRA. This track dives deep into the struggles we carry and the strength it takes to rise above them. We couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out, and we can’t wait for you all to hear it.”

The song is accompanied by a powerful video directed by Patric Ullaeus who has produced videos for ARCH ENEMY, IN FLAMES and won a Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannprisen) for directing “The Serpentine Offering” by DIMMU BORGIR. A cinematic music video featuring the band navigating a tense, war-like conflict in an urban setting, where vocalist Jake E takes the lead in a quiet, determined struggle for control.

Influenced by the likes of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Trouble, Dio, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Kyuss, ÇÖKÜŞ – pronounced cho-koosh, which is Turkish for “decline” or “collapse” – was formed by several members of Earthen Grave upon its demise, carrying that band’s sound forward with a refocused energy. Following nearly a decade of creating songs remotely, the band put everything into the creation of An Hour Of Lies, which saw release in 2024 through Qumran Records.

An Hour Of Lies was recorded in three different states, the drums and vocals recorded by John E. Bohmher, Jr. at Berwyn Recording, the bass recorded by Patrick Green, and the guitars recorded by Jason Muxlow. The tracks were mixed by Chris Wozniak and mastered by Chris Hanzsek (Melvins, Soundgarden, Helms Alee), and the cover art/visuals were handled by Tom Denney (Soilent Green, Weedeater, Rwake).

ÇÖKÜŞ’ new video for “Never Gone” comes alongside the announcement of a lineup shift, which sees new bassist Paul DiPego (Salt Of The Earth, Maiden ’81) and new lead guitarist Mick Stone (Scare Machine, Sunset Empire) joining drummer Chris Wozniak (Vanishment, Earthen Grave, Lair Of The Minotaur), guitarist Steve Ligeza (Torg, Makahiya), and vocalist Mark Weiner (Earthen Grave).

The band writes, “Losing someone special to you, that you never knew in person, could make you lose yourself.”

An Hour Of Lies is out now on CD and digital via the Qumran Records webshop HERE and Bandcamp HEREand through all streaming apps. Watch the visualizers for “Wolf Moon,” “Midnight Sun,” and “Hit The Mattresses” HERE.

Elias Andrada shared on the single: “Circuit Collapse is a dark and introspective journey through mental collapse and redemption in the midst of chaos. With a melancholic and tense atmosphere, the song explores the internal struggle against despair and the search for meaning in the darkness. Through immersive
soundscapes and lyrics that paint a city in flames and paths with no return, REEPER delivers an intense, cinematic experience.”

Metal Singer-Songwriter WHITE CRONE Releases New Single “Prognosticator”

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, music videos with tags , , , , on August 1, 2024 by Metal Odyssey

Heavy metal enchantress WHITE CRONE has released her latest single “Prognosticator”. The hard-rocking single conjures up the magic of another time both in its lyrics and in its feel. The music recalls metal classics such as DIO and JUDAS PRIEST, while the lyrics whisk the listener into a world full of darkness and corruption. Vocalist and composer Lisa Mann howls her condemned protagonist’s tale with elegant fury.

Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGD6MQqXOcI

About WHITE CRONE:
Based out of Portland, Oregon, WHITE CRONE is the metal brainchild of award-winning blues artist and bassist/vocalist Lisa Mann. Growing up in the mosh pits of the 80s, she was inspired by bands such as IRON MAIDEN, MERCYFUL FATE, BLACK SABBATH, MANOWAR, DIO, and more. A mostly one-woman project, WHITE CRONE is a love letter to this grand era of metal, and a lyrical homage to mystical storytelling traditions of yore.

In 2020 she channeled all those influences and released her debut album as WHITE CRONE, the critically acclaimed The Poisoner. For the first time, she featured not only on bass guitar and vocals, but on 7-string guitar as well. Larry London provided most of the drums, save for one track featuring the legendary Vinny Appice (BLACK SABBATH, DIO).

Now she is poised to release a follow-up album, of which the title track, “Prognosticator”, is the first single. The song “Prognosticator” is a fast-paced, prog-adjacent power metal romp which tells the preternatural origin story of the character WHITE CRONE, retaining the occult storytelling elements of the first album. It is the tale of a self-fulfilling astrological prophecy.

HOLYCIDE – Release Animated Video for “Lie is the New Truth”

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, music videos with tags , , , , , , , on May 28, 2024 by Metal Odyssey

Spanish Thrashers HOLYCIDE have launched a killer animated video as a 3rd advance single from their third album, Towards Idiocracy which will be released on June 6th (International Day of Slayer) through Xtreem Music.

You can watch the video for the song “Lie is the New Truth” at: https://youtu.be/f9ycLwLZb-g

HOLYCIDE vocalist Dave Rotten comments on the song: “The lyrics of this song talk about the current era of fake news. When we don’t like some truth, we cover it with fake news, creating another fake news with this, and sometimes, we know positively that something is fake news, but even so, we settle for giving it credibility, simply because it agrees with our ideology, in what it seems that anything goes. We have become accustomed to living with lies and hoaxes, which are the new truth… making the infamous Göbbels right: “A lie repeated a thousand times becomes a truth.”
