SLYTHER – Italian Thrashers Sign To Time To Kill Records

Time To Kill Records is proud to welcome SLYTHER, a young and ferocious Italian thrash metal band, to its roster.

With a solid foundation of live experience already under their belt, SLYTHER stand out for their ability to revisit thrash metal tradition with energy and freshness, blending the classic attitude of bands like Metallica and Overkill with the irreverent crossover edge of acts such as Municipal Waste.

Their debut album is set to be released in the coming months via Time To Kill Records. Full details will be revealed soon – stay tuned!

Biography:

SLYTHER is a young thrash/crossover band hailing from Pescara, Italy, and active since 2020. Formed by musicians born between 2005 and 2007, the group delivers a direct, high-energy sound rooted in modern thrash with strong crossover influences.

Since 2022, SLYTHER has been active on the live circuit, performing at major events such as the Day 0 of Frantic Fest 2023 and sharing the stage with well-known names in the Italian underground for Game Over and Fingernails. Among their first releases is the single “Shut The Fuck Up” (July 2023), which has surpassed 10,000 streams and offers a taste of the debut album currently in the works.

Metal Merch: EXHORDER Band Autographs & Band Poker Chip I Bought At Their Show In 2024

I went to see EXHORDER and EYEHATEGOD back on August 16, 2024, at Cosmo Joe’s Atomic Lounge, in downtown Dayton, Ohio. I went with my buddy Troy and the night was lit!

Finnish Thrash Metal Band INDEMON To Release Debut Album Reclaiming Chaos – The First Single Out Now!

Finnish thrashers Indemon are set to release their debut album Reclaiming Chaos on June 27th 2025 via Inverse Records. The first single, album’s title track, “Reclaiming Chaos” is unleashed today and it’s available on all essential streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/indemon-reclaiming

“Reclaiming Chaos, the title track closer, is the album’s fastest song. The chaotic atmosphere consists of sharp playing and aggressive vocals. The song is about taking control of a bad-turned-worse situation with mental strength and without outside interference.” 

BIOGRAPHY:
INDEMON is a four-piece metal band formed in 2020 in Kerava, Finland. Drawing influences from various subgenres of metal, they blend them uniquely to create a powerful and atmospheric sound. INDEMON‘s debut EP Fear of Living was released in 2022, showcasing the band’s ability to create intense and multifaceted metal.

The band’s lyrical themes explore fear, self-doubt, and inner struggles, immersing the listener into the music’s emotional world. INDEMON is known for their energetic live performances and distinctive music.

SLAYER “Live Undead” Is Stone’s Metal Pick Of The Day!

Years ago, I posted my “Metal Pick Of the Day“ on a frequent schedule. I’ve decided to return with writing for this fun topic again. I’ve chosen the first live album from Slayer, Live Undead, as my Metal Pick Of The Day for February 25th.

Live Undead was released back in 1984, via Metal Blade Records. I was a senior in high school back in 1984. Unreal, I know. I was a first-class smartass back in 1984; I still am, only not first-class. Anyhow, I originally bought Live Undead on cassette. Decades later, I sold that cassette with other vintage 80s Metal cassettes. Ouch. Long story short, I needed the money.

Fast forward to January 2023 and I purchased Live Undead on CD. Finally. I was so elated to own this slice of Slayer history once again! The music critics that have written lousy reviews over the years for Live Undead can simply kiss my ass. The controversy over the years regarding if a true live audience was present for this recording means donkey shit to me. I. Don’t. Care.

Listening to Live Undead is equal to comfort food for me. The early years of Slayer songs brings back such good memories. This album is raw, vicious and showcases how Thrash is supposed to sound like then and even now. An undisputed live Thrash Metal classic is this album, in my opinion. My favorite song on Live Undead is The Antichrist. Hell, this entire album is an enduring slice of Metal history. Metal be thy name. – Stone.

ABOUT DESECRATOR:

Formed in 2008 by guitarist/vocalist Riley Strong, Melbounre’s DESECRATOR quickly gained popularity in their home country of Australia, releasing a self-titled demo and touring with bands such as FORBIDDEN, WARBRINGER, MORTAL SIN, HOBB’S ANGEL OF DEATH, MACABRE and TOXIC HOLOCAUST. In 2011 they released debut album Live til Death. Recorded at the iconic ‘Arthouse’ in Melbourne, and mixed/mastered in Germany by acclaimed Thrash producer Harris Johns, Live til Death. was released as a limited edition CD (666 hand-numbered copies). ANTHRAX – TO RELEASE ‘CHILE ON HELL’ DVD ON THE 16TH OF SEPTEMBER

Get ready to mosh in the privacy of your own home, because multiple Grammy-nominated thrash masters ANTHRAX have announced the release of “Chile On Hell”, a live-in-concert DVD that is due on September 16th. “Chile On Hell” was filmed at the Teatro Caupolican in Santiago, Chile on May 10, 2013 and features ANTHRAX performing an extended set that featured songs from the band’s entire catalogue.

“Chile On Hell” will be available on DVD and Blu-ray and 2 Live CDs, was recorded in 5.1 Surround Sound, and will retail for $16.98.

“Santiago was the perfect place to film the show for this,” said ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante. “When we’d played there in the past, we’d finish our set, play our encore and go back to the dressing room. But every time, the fans would continue to scream and cheer and clap. I mean, they went on and on, they wouldn’t stop. One time Scott [Ian, guitar] and I walked out to the side of the stage just to watch what was going on in the audience, it was intense. Why wouldn’t we want to film a DVD in front of an audience like that?

“Plus,” Benante continued, “the time was right to do this DVD… We wanted to finish on a high note. We didn’t want to look back and regret that we didn’t record the live show.”

“Chile On Hell” was produced by Jay Ruston and filmed by City Drive Entertainment Group and DC3 Global. The DVD’s cover art was designed by Stephen Thompson, who partnered with Benante to “redesign” the artwork from last year’s “Anthems” EP.

EXODUS – Announce Special Guests On New Album “Blood In Blood Out”

EXODUS proudly announce the special guests appearing on the latest showcase of unrefined rage BLOOD IN BLOOD OUT, the band’s tenth studio album due out on October 10th (EU), 13th (UK), 14th (NA) via Nuclear Blast Records.

Crafting an industrial sound bed on the intro to the album opener “Black 13” is electronic music producer Dan the Automator (GORILLAZ, MIKE PATTON, DELTRON 3030).

“We ran into each other a couple times,” shares EXODUS guitarist & songwriter Gary Holt. “I knew what I wanted to hear and I knew he could do it, and could do it that day. So we sent him a file with the drums and guitars we already had there and just told him to go crazy with it.”

Testament frontman Chuck Billy lends his signature roar to the track “BTK,” one of the first songs recorded by returning vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza, who recently said, “Chuck and I have known each other forever. We work really well together, we know each other really well. So if I’m doing my vocals and he’s there, I can trust him to go ‘No way Zet, doesn’t sound good like that. Do it like this,’ or ‘Yeah that’s killer.’ If he says it sounds killer, I know it is.”

Original band guitarist Kirk Hammett of Metallica contributed a solo to “Salt The Wound.”

“This was actually the first time Kirk got to play on an official EXODUS release,” states Holt. “He did the early demo, and then joined Metallica and didn’t do anything with us after that. So he was totally gung-ho about it. He came down and ripped out a bunch of takes and we picked the best one and then had a barbecue and drank beer.”

“It felt really casual, really cool – just like it did back in 1980 when we were all just hanging out back in the day,” Hammett confessed to RollingStone.com in July.

Unspeakable Axe Records To Release ALGEBRA’s “Feed The Ego” On Sept. 2nd, 2014

Unspeakable Axe Records has announced the September 2nd release of Feed the Ego, from Swiss thrashers ALGEBRA.

ALGEBRA is superficially an unusual moniker for a thrash band, calling to mind mathematical precision and maybe pencil-snapping frustration rather than the blitzkrieg attack of Slayer, et al. But as one absorbs Swiss thrash machine ALGEBRA’s music, the name makes increasingly more sense. Both the math and the anger are here – the former in the unreasonably tight playing, complex riffs and spiraling lead work; and the latter in the lyrics, which tackle all manner of modern-day frustrations.

Take for example the opening track “Survival Nowadays.” Over a pummeling riff assault reminiscent of Sepultura, Testament, Coroner and more, the gruff vocalist barks about what life in 2014 has done to humankind. And it’s not a pretty picture. We are soft, we are lazy, we are complacent. The song is criticism honed to a knife’s edge. It would be hard to swallow if it didn’t sound so damn good.

ALGEBRA’s debut album was self-released in 2012 and reissued by Stormspell Records afterward. Following the release of last year’s highly acclaimed and critically hailed live DVD/Blu-ray Dying Alive, German Thrash Metal giants KREATOR now announce a tour for November/December 2014, leading the true “Hordes Of Chaos” throughout Europe as headliners and with them a real high-class selection of bands.

Joining KREATOR for the upcoming live shenanigans are Polish label mates VADER, Swedish death metal masters ARCH ENEMY and German Thrash veterans SODOM.

Frontman Mille Petrozza comments:

“A lot of our European fans voiced their discontent over the fact that the band hardly does European club tours – apart from our festival shows. In 2013 we were mainly busy playing for our fans overseas. We want to change this now. In time for the reissues of Endless Pain, Pleasure To Kill and Extreme Aggression, in all kinds of formats – finally on vinyl again too – we`ll end the Phantom Antichris tour cycle in Europe with a massive string of shows. German Thrash Metal heroes TANKARD just revealed the album cover for their upcoming new album R.I.B.. The artwork was brought to life by Patrick Strogulski, who is a student of Sebastian Krüger, the former TANKARD cover artist.

Mastermind Gerre states:
“R.I.B. continues the story of Chemical Invasion. The crazy professor is back is takes revenge on mankind, because he failed in 1987! The cover is done again by Patrick Strogulski, an apprentice of Sebastian Krüger and really hits the spot! As always with Tankard, things shouldn’t be taken too seriously!”

I’m noticing it’s a more punchy heavy metal record with more dimension than the last record had. Where is it going to end up on the food chain? I really don’t know. But my feeling is it’s an eclectic collection of moments from us. “The Electric Age” came across, to me, as kind a of two-dimensional Thrash record. This one is punchy but has a whole different bunch of ways to go and things to hear on it.”
