From the Destruction facebook:
In 2007, DESTRUCTION proved how successful re-recording some of their timeless classics and re-imagining history could be. The follow-up to 2007’s Thrash Anthems is ready to rock the Metal world and shows how fans can be part of both a band’s history and future. For Thrash Anthems II, DESTRUCTION called upon on their loyal fans through PledgeMusic to help them create the record and contribute to the band’s epic history.
Mastermind Schmier states:
“As it is a part of our past to relaunch classic songs from our history with a fresh face and we had many demands on a Thrash Anthems continuation, we decided to do a second part of this re-animation of classic 80s DESTRUCTION material. For us it was important to choose the tracks with the fans and first when NB did not wanna do the album, we decided to do a pledge campaign to raise the funds for the production, together with the die hards.
To make a long story short, we know not everybody will like these new versions of those thrash evergreens (just listen to the originals then) but it was an important task for us to keep them alive for a whole new generation of metalheads that love those fresh and brutal new recordings. We are very happy now, that our label is finally releasing this collection of thrash classics. The vibe on this record is so vicious, uncommercial and has this 80s feeling with an even more aggressive edge and THAT is was made our THRASH so special, in the good old days and now!”

Vocalist Bruce Corbitt Announces Retirement Following Cancer Diagnosis – Final Farewell Footage Posted + Medical Fundraising Campaign Launched
___________________________
Texas metal titans WARBEAST will release their long-waited new full-length, Enter The Arena, this August via Philip H. Anselmo‘s own Housecore Records. Captured at Anselmo’s Nodferatu’s Lair, mixed by Mike Thompson at the Riff Factory and mastered by Lee Russell, Enter The Arena features newest WARBEAST recruits, guitarist Drew Shoup and bassist Lyric Ferchaud and stands among the band’s most potent, volatile, and unrepentant powerful offering yet.
“We recorded Enter The Arena exactly a decade after we formed WARBEAST,” notes vocalist Bruce Corbitt. “The nucleus and founding members of this band [guitarist Scott Shelby, drummer Joey Gonzalez, and Corbitt] provided the essential veteran leadership that was vital for us to reach our goal of creating our magnum opus. The three of us also contributed our unique individual styles to guarantee that we still sound like WARBEAST. But with the addition of our two newest members – guitarist Drew Shoup and bassist Lyric Ferchaud – who I call the ‘Youngbloods,’ it was like adding a breath-of-fresh-air to our chemistry. We definitely sound like a well-oiled-machine on this album. So get prepared for the upcoming onslaught of pure, fresh, and quintessential Texas thrash!”
“Enter The Arena is WARBEAST at its finest in performance, writing and tone quality,” adds Shelby. “I’m confident that it will please any rivethead out there! I believe it’s mine and our best work to date.”
Enter The Arena will see release on August 4th. Preorder bundles are currently available. For CD bundles visit THIS LOCATION. For vinyl bundles go to THIS LOCATION.
The release of WARBEAST‘s Enter The Arenafollows Corbitt’s recent and tragic announcement that he’s been diagnosed with esophageal cancer –a treatable though rarely curable disease – facing the likelihood that he will never be able to sing again.
In a recent Facebook message to fans, Corbitt revealed, “After much discussion with the doctors and specialist, they’ve told me there’s no chance within any reasonable time that I’ll ever be able to perform again. So it breaks my heart at this time that I’m forced to announce my retirement from singing. I’m sorry to all of my bandmates for letting them down. I’m devastated with all of this hitting me so fast. I’m still in shock. Thanks for all of the great support all these years,” he continues. “You’re the best fans and I love all of you! We at least have a great WARBEAST album and music video coming soon. I can’t even begin to explain my feelings. You guys have given me the strength I need to even prepare for this fight. Honestly, I was close to losing hope that there was any good to come out of this. Of course, I’m scared for my life, like any normal human being would be. Those moments when I can get on Facebook and scroll through all of your messages, the emotion takes over. I cry, I get stronger, I also realize what all of you mean to me. I do believe in the power prayer and positive vibes. And I have all of you to thank for that.”
Corbitt, who recently began an intensive schedule of radiation treatments, played his final show on Saturday May 27th at the Rail Club in Fort Worth, Texas. View the farewell footage at THIS LOCATION.
Additionally, the band’s previously scheduled CD release party will be taking place on Friday, July 14th at The Rail Club in Ft. Worth, Texas. Vocals will be handled by Anselmo, Edwin Neal (Texas Chain Saw Massacre), and Wayne Abney of Hammer Witch.
**A special fund to help with the Corbitt family’s escalating medical expenses has been set up. To donate visit THIS LOCATION.

WARBEAST:
7/14/2017 The Rail Club – Ft. Worth, TX * CD Release Party [info]
With the “retro-thrash” trend in full-swing, and hordes of bands trying to re-create “old school metal,” Texas monsters WARBEAST offer the real thing. Their music is not the result of careful study of ’80s thrash or classic metal; it just comes naturally because that is who they are.
The roots of WARBEAST are firmly entrenched in the legendary ’80s Texas underground metal scene. Vocalist Bruce Corbitt was the voice of speed metal splatter kings Rigor Mortis, who achieved major label success on Capitol Records in 1988. Guitarist Scott Shelby was part of the riff machine behind Gammacide, one of Texas’ most furious thrash exports. Drum tornado Joey Gonzalez now also provides blasts and mayhem for Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals and Superjoint.
The band’s Krush The Enemy debut was released in 2010 on Housecore Records. It featured ten tracks covering a wide range of Metal terrain aimed squarely at the neck-snapping headbanger in the front row. For WARBEAST, “Metal” signifies high-speed riffing, thunderous double bass, roaring vocals, and plenty of blazing guitar solos. By the spring of 2012, WARBEAST hunkered down to record Destroy with legendary Pantera and Down frontman and label founder Philip H. Anselmo behind the board at his own Nodferatu’s Lair. The result was an uncompromising and unbridled thrash assault.
Living up to its moniker, the collection saw the Texas outfit sharpen their claws and bare their teeth even more than before. “I want people to feel like they’ve been hit with a sledgehammer ten times in a row when they hear this,” said Corbitt of the release. “As long as they feel strongly about, we’ve accomplished our mission.” Five years later, it’s time to unleash the sonic battery of Enter The Arena.

Legendary Canadian Thrash/Heavy Metal masters Annihilator have lacerated many senses over the years with their supreme, aggressive Metal mastery, and on January, 27th, 2017, their legion of loyal fans can look forward to a series of fresh sensory experiences as Annihilator proudly present Triple Threat, a three-disc collection of Annihilator’s music in a trio of very different scenarios.
The main disc comprises a set of Annihilator’s classics performed acoustically, with band leader/guitarist/ songwriter and vocalist Jeff Waters bringing together band members Aaron Homma and Rich Hinks, Vancouver BC drummer and friend Marc LaFrance plus Ottawa session player Pat Robillard.
Recorded and mixed by Waters, this quintet recorded everything live, off the floor and in single takes at Watersound Studios in Dunrobin, Canada during late May and early June, 2016, giving Waters one of the most challenging, satisfying and perhaps ‘electric’ creative moments in his career.
The second disc will feature Annihilator’s vicious set from the 2016 Bang Your Head Festival, a set which illustrates the very best of what Annihilator is known for –tight, sharp, technically excellent and melodic Thrash Metal music. It will also contain some exclusive inside-Annihilator off-stage perspective, which captures further elements, flavours and detail of the band which fans will flip over.
“This was one of the coolest things I have done in my long career. Having 5 people in a room, from all different backgrounds and talents, coming together to play songs from the past and to try to sound like we are one but totally live and with feel. This was one of the biggest challenges that Annihilator has faced, musically.
Enjoy… we sure love this one.” – Jeff Waters, Annihilator
Triple Threat will be available as DVD/2CDs, Blu-Ray/2CDs, a 2CD audio-only and digital download.
The BluRay and DVD visual content is split in 3 parts:
Chapter I – Annihilator Un-Plugged: The Watersound Studios Sessions (62 mins)
Chapter II – Annihilator Live at the BANG YOUR HEAD Festival (45 mins)
Chapter III – ANNIHILATOR: Summer Mini-Documentary 2016 (50 mins)
Plus Bonus Video Chapters: “Jeff’s Commentary On The Acoustic Songs” and “Jeff Answers Fan Questions”.
“Annihilator really is Canada’s thrash band; kind of an extension of the Big Four. We have Sepultura in the South, we have Annihilator to the North. I love Jeff, I love the band, I love his playing. His compositions are terrific. Annihilator rules.” – David Ellefson, Megadeth

Metal Blade lablemates BATTLECROSS and WOVENWAR will kick off their North American Fury Tour tonight supporting Soilwork and Unearth. The trek will coil its way through over two dozen venues, coming to a close on November 16th in Toronto, Ontario. Additional support will be provided by Darkness Divided.
Following the journey, BATTLECROSS will close 2016 with a three-week headlining run: the third installment of the Winter Warriors Tour. This year, support will be provided by Metal Blade labelmates Allegaeon and Necromancing The Stone. In conjunction with the Veterans Ticket Foundation, the Winter Warriors Tour will once again offer free admission to members of the US Armed Forces and the band will donate a portion of their proceeds to local veterans’ organizations in each city.
Veterans are invited to register for free tickets at vettix.org. BATTLECROSS will be touring in support of their latest album, Rise To Power, which landed on the Billboard charts at #103, marking the band’s second Billboard chart entry (2013’s War Of Will entered the charts at #130). To preview and purchase Rise To Power, visit: metalblade.com/battlecross.
On October 21st, WOVENWAR will release their sophomore album, Honor Is Dead. More aggressive and fluid than its self-titled predecessor, Honor Is Dead was written with contributions from all members, while the music for Wovenwar was mostly written before vocalist Shane Blay joined the band. The results speak for themselves, capturing a group that sounds truly unified, and hungry.
Expanding upon the ruthlessly catchy melodies and hooks of their debut and driven by darker lyrical themes, Honor Is Dead makes for a listening experience with true depth, and a broad emotional range. To hear latest single, “World On Fire,” visit AltPress.com at THIS LOCATION where a drum play through for the track can be viewed, alongside an exclusive interview with drummer Jordan Mancino. Back on May 7th of this year, I went to see the mighty BATTLECROSS at Oddbody’s Music Room in Dayton, Ohio. This venue plays host to many, many national, worldwide and local Metal bands. On this night Metal legends Suffocation and Soulfly were the headliners; with Abnormality and Lody Kong also as opening acts. I went solo to this night of amazing Metal mayhem and I also stayed in the pit for the entire BATTLECROSS set. Yes, I’m crazy at age 50. I did get pushed around pretty damn good too and I stuck it through.
BATTLECROSS are touring in support of their 3rd killer studio album: Rise To Power.
The next day my body felt like crap from the physical punishment it endured from being in the pit for both BATTLECROSS and Abnormality. I wouldn’t have changed a thing I did and that’s the way Metal is supposed to be if you want to be a human target in the pit. BATTLECROSS played an amazing set of songs and had their packed house of fans going crazy. Lead singer Kyle Gunther commanded the stage, never-ceasing to jump around for a second. Kyle stalked his fans and gave them their monies worth!

The entire BATTLECROSS band is extremely talented at their Metal crafts and are a Modern Thrash Metal band to reckon with. I absolutely enjoyed myself smashing and thrashing around to their Metal! I did (luckily) pause at times to take some photos of BATTLECROSS in action, thanks to a few BIG dudes at the front-line that shielded me from the carnage going on in the pit behind us. BATTLECROSS are from Michigan and are not to be missed if you worship in-your-face, high intensity Thrash Metal. Enjoy these photos I took and thank you for visiting. Metal Be Thy Name – Stone

In closing, Kyle Gunther is an animated, funny, very, very cool dude.

** DEATH ANGEL only
# Anthrax, DEATH ANGEL only
Three decades into their celebrated career, DEATH ANGEL remains as hungry as ever. As a result, uncompromising urgency and unpredictability drive The Evil Divide. The group – vocalist Mark Osegueda, lead guitarist Rob Cavestany, guitarist Ted Aguilar, drummer Will Carroll, and bassist Damien Sisson – satiate the appetite for buzzsaw speed riffs, double bass mayhem, and scorching vocals over the course of ten new anthems.
The Evil Divide stands out as the culmination of thirty-plus years of music for DEATH ANGEL. It kicked off with legendary debut, The Ultra-Violence, in 1987. The classic Frolic Through The Park began to cement their legacy and even earned the distinction of landing on Loudwire’s list of the “Top Ten Thrash Albums NOT Released By The Big 4.” The group broke up following 1990’s Act III only to reunite in 2004 on Art Of Dying for the next generation.
In 2008, DEATH ANGEL teamed with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Rush, Mastodon) for Killing Season recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606. In 2010, Relentless Retribution boasted a cameo from virtuosos Rodrigo y Gabriela, while 2013’s The Dream Calls For Blood bowed at #72 on the Billboard Top 200, selling 5,400 copies the first-week and earning the group’s first ever entry onto that respective chart.
