PATCHWORK – Releases New Single “Divide” Featuring Dallas Toler-Wade and Ronnie Parmer

Posted in Death Metal, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on March 22, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

PATCHWORK, the Rockford-based metal band known for its fierce and provocative music, have released “Divide,” the latest single from their upcoming album Scars. Featuring the distinctive vocals of Dallas Toler-Wade (NARCOTIC WASTELAND, ex-NILE) and the intricate guitar solos of Ronnie Parmer (BLOODMESSIAH, MALEVOLENT CREATION). “Divide” is now available on all major streaming platforms.

“Divide” ventures into the darker and more intense territory of death metal, marking a significant departure from PATCHWORK‘s typical sound. The song addresses the deep fractures within contemporary society, spotlighting the insidious influence of unseen powers that manipulate and distort public perception through Orwellian tactics.

Brad Carlson, guitarist and one of the primary songwriters for PATCHWORK, crafted the music and arrangement for “Divide,” utilizing a drop C tuning to create a heavier, more aggressive sound.  The collaboration with Dallas Toler-Wade brought a new dimension to the track, with his experience in death metal bringing authenticity and intensity to the vocals.

Ronnie Parmer’s guitar work complements the song’s thematic depth. Known for his dynamic playing style, Parmer’s solos add a visceral edge to the track, enhancing its emotional and sonic impact.

“Divide” serves as a poignant reminder of the cultural and social battles being waged silently in everyday life. The song’s lyrics, written by Dave Caruana, reflect on the lasting consequences of these battles, suggesting a collective memory and a reckoning to come. The proverb “the axe forgets, but the tree remembers” underscores the enduring awareness and resilience of those affected by divisive tactics.

“Divide” both challenges the listener musically but also encourages a deeper reflection on the forces that shape our world. The single sets the stage for the release of Scars, scheduled for May 15, 2025, promising an album filled with powerful narratives and relentless metal craftsmanship.

Finnish thrash veterans BLOODRIDE are back in the studio, forging their fifth album into a relentless sonic onslaught. Fueled by raw energy and precision, the band promises a thrash metal assault that will push boundaries and leave no neck unthrashed.

Now, BLOODRIDE unveils the album title: Deafening – a name as intense as the music itself! In their latest Studio Confessions from the Heart of the Metal Storm, guitarist Teemu Vähäkangas and bassist Esa Pennala share insights into the process:

Teemu: “The votes for the album title were bloody, but here we go, it’s Deafening! Everyone can interpret that as they wish. And as you can see from the tracklist, our songs still aren’t about kittens or sunny spring days…”

Esa: “Yeah, we’re sooo brutal! We’re also starting work on videos now. The hardest part was choosing which songs to feature. Since we try to be a democratic band, there was some voting involved.”

Teemu: “Not an easy task, because on this album, there are no fillers, only killers! Haha!”

Track-list for Deafening:

1 Sardonic Grin (Intro)
2 Kill without Hate
3 Come in Peace
4 Hindsight Einstein
5 Ashes Remain
6 Holy Simplicity
7 King of Pain
8 The Dark Triad
9 Simply Complicated
10 Death Sentinel
11 Erase and Replace
12 Fear Cage

More details, including release dates and video premieres, will be revealed soon. Stay tuned for the next wave of BLOODRIDE’s thrash fury!

Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM) is proud to announce the signing of one of the most influential and relentless forces in thrash metal: ONSLAUGHT! The UK-based band, known for their unwavering aggression and decades of iconic anthems, has joined forces with the exciting new label to embark on a thrilling new chapter in their storied career.

Founding guitarist and songwriter Nige Rockett states:
“Signing with RPM is the start of an incredible new chapter for ONSLAUGHT. We’ve always pushed ourselves to create the most intense and aggressive music possible, and with RPM behind us, we’re taking things to a whole new level. ‘Origins Of Aggression’ is just the beginning, get ready for absolute carnage!”

Reigning Phoenix Music is equally excited about the new partnership:
“ONSLAUGHT is a cornerstone of thrash metal history, and we are honoured to welcome them to the RPM family. Their legacy of pure aggression and unrelenting energy aligns perfectly with our vision, and we are eager to bring their music to new heights together.”

To kick off this promising new union, ONSLAUGHT will release a special double album titled Origins Of Aggression, celebrating not only the 40th anniversary of their debut album Power From Hell, but also the pivotal beginnings of the band and thrash metal itself.

Set for release on May 23, 2025, the forthcoming offering will include a staggering 22 tracks, including re-recordings of the group’s most important and defining songs from their early years as well as a collection of punk and metal covers that deeply influenced ONSLAUGHT’s conception and development. The track list includes songs that were originally jammed during the band’s early rehearsals and served as a huge inspiration for the members to pick up their instruments and to create the ferocious music that has shaped them into legends.

ONSLAUGHT’s contribution to the thrash metal genre cannot be overstated: from their debut album Power From Hell (1985), which is being honoured with this new release, to their celebrated performances across the globe, they remain an untouchable force in the world of heavy metal. With over 40 years of history, the quintet has steadily continued to evolve, delivering relentless riffs and neck-breaking anthems, and cementing their place as pioneers of the British thrash scene.

Alongside Origins Of Aggression, fans can brace themselves for an electrifying preview of what’s ahead with the release of “Iron Fist”, ONSLAUGHT’s crushing take on the MOTÖRHEAD classic, which will arrive on March 27.

Since the duo’s formation in the spring of 2019, Artach has been consistently releasing new music. The band’s debut album Chronicles of a Black Winter was released digitally during February 2020 and later unleashed on physical CD by Depressive Illusions Records.

In 2021, the band returned with their next offering Sworn To Avenge, a full-length scourge of raw and relentless bruting gloom. In 2024, Artach took an experimental direction with the EP Sgrios, which was a black metal spin on industrial metal sounds. Stream DOOMSDAY’s “Never Known Peace” HERE.

Oakland, California-based crossover faction DOOMSDAY presents their new single, “Never Known Peace,” now streaming everywhere. The incinerating new song is the title track to the band’s debut LP, nearing release in March.

Formed in 2018 by members from different parts of the Bay Area metal and hardcore scene, DOOMSDAY delivers a crushing brew of crossover/thrash with divebomb-fueled intensity. Following several demos and singles and heavy live attacks throughout the Bay Area and beyond, the band entered the international spotlight with the 2022 release of their Depictions Of Chaos EP.

DOOMSDAY toured across the West Coast with Upon Stone, Extinguish, Mutually Assured Destruction, Darkness Everywhere, and more, honing their already deadly craft to incinerating new levels of precision and aggression, which now shows through on the succinct slam of their eponymous EP, released in 2023 to critical praise and resulting in more live opportunities.

Now, DOOMSDAY is finally prepared to unload their debut LP, Never Known Peace, a record which sees the band further embracing their thrash metal and crossover influences and delivering an all-out shredding thrash salvo. Ten ripping tracks that surge with the energy of the thrash metal bedrock that lines their Bay Area hometown like it’s 1986. Technical flair and spiraling divebomb-laden precision fuels the percussive riff assault.

Never Known Peace was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Zack Ohren at Sharkbite Studios (Machine Head, Suffocation, Darkness Everywhere), and features guest solos on “Holy Justice” and “Remnants Of Spite” by Andrew Lee (Ripped To Shreds). The record is completed with cover artwork by Spencer Davie, layout by Isaiah Castillo, and photography by Chris Johnston. Fans of Nuclear Assault, Power Trip, Exodus, Enforced, Municipal Waste, Testament, early-Metallica, DOOMSDAY’s Never Known Peace is a must-hear record.

Vocalist Charlie D. states, “I wanted this song to reflect how I felt being at my lowest while still having the most ass-beater song we’ve ever written. I don’t want to be a metal band that is afraid to talk about our most vulnerable moments. The feeling of being irredeemable, of being beyond saving and wanting to end it all is something we’ve all felt in some way or another; having this inner turmoil, never knowing any peace, and feeling like you’ve always have and will be this way. We got really inspired by Chaos A.D. by Sepultura with this track, especially by “Propaganda,” and we wanted to channel the energy of that song, and I definitely feel like we delivered. Having something that you can both headbang and mosh to is the D-Day motto.”

Stream DOOMSDAY’s Never Known Peace now at Bandcamp HERE and YouTube HERE.

Never Known Peace will be released on all digital platforms, on CD, and on LP March 28th. Preorders for all formats and other new merch are posted at the Creator-Destructor shop HERE and Bandcamp where “The Outlaw” is also streaming HERE.

DOOMSDAY is booking tour dates in support of the album including a run with labelmates Iron Cross currently in the works. A release show for Never Known Peace is confirmed for April 13th with Age Of Apocalypse, Iron Front, and more.

“The song is a metaphor on how the sun could exterminate all we call life in a single beam of light, just like some politicians do when they get to to power. They have ultimate control over their nations and can control everything and obliterate whatever they want on their path.”

Canadian thrashers MUTANK have their next headbanging video for fans to check out for their track “Abortron” from their latest album Think Before You Think released this past November from Boonsdale Records.

Band members comment about the track: Costa: “Elon Musk is jealous he didn’t invent this robot who sucks the lives out of your uterus!” Stephen“The lyrics for Abortron are disgusting and no one should read them.”

Watch and listen to the video for “Abortron” at: https://youtu.be/Lvls4psV5MI

After a short hiatus, MUTANK has exploded back on the thrash scene with their new album Think Before You Think to follow the highly praised 2017 EP W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T also released on Boonsdale Records and was named by Metal Injection as “1 of 8 Hidden Gems in Canadian Metal You Need To Know” (Read here). This new full-length features a rampage of ten thrash happy tracks with fan favourites such as “Running Reds”“Abortron”, and “Thrash Primordial”.

“We want this album to energize people and make them feel the way we do when we listen to some of our favourite artists. This album is the most material we have ever put out! 50 minutes of pure metal across 10 tracks. The songs really picked themselves as we kept writing tracks we really enjoyed playing. This is Thrash for Metalheads by Metalheads! We have evolved from crossover to a more refined thrash band with longer and more intricate songs, it can be a bit proggy… The level of seriousness in songwriting is evident on this new record.” adds the band.

With a passion for classic thrash and a desire to play radical riffs, MUTANK made a big impression on the Canadian metal scene in 2014 with their debut EP M.E.C.H METAL and being declared champions of the Wacken Metal Battle Canada to garner them a performance at Wacken Open Air (Live Video – https://youtu.be/yQrLaG8BPL4). By 2017, the band took their distinctive sound and hit the road to tour across Canada supporting ANNIHILATOR alongside Australia’s MASON.

2. Payback – 5:24
