CANNIBAL CORPSE ‘Torture’ First-Week Sales Revealed – Crashing In On Billboard Top 200!

Torture, the latest studio album from American Death Metal icons, CANNIBAL CORPSE sold approximately 9,594 copies in the United States in its first week landing the band at #38 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, making it the highest debut in CANNIBAL CORPSE history! Torture landed at #7 on the Billboard Top Independent Album Chart, #4 on the Billboard Top Hard Music Albums chart and #32 Billboard Top Current Albums Chart.

In Canada, Torture ranked in at #29 on the Top 200 Current chart, #2 on the Hard Music chart
and #90 on the Digital Album chart. The record also slayed all in its path overseas, entertaining the German and Austrian Top 100 charts at #40, the German MSH charts (Media Markt and Saturn stores) at #33, Switzerland’s Top 100 chart at #72, Sweden’s Top 100 chart at #37, and Denmark’s Top 100 chart at #84. Torture sold 1,215 units in its first week in the UK and ranked an astounding #5 on the UK Metal chart, #18 on the UK Indie chart and #126 on the UK Top 200 chart. Torture pummeled Benelux and France as well entering their Top 200 charts at #157 and #129 respectively.

Produced by Hate Eternal’s Erik Rutan, Torture continues to reap critical accolades from critics and fans around the globe and is yet another testament to CANNIBAL CORPSE’s permanent allegiance to shrewdly arranged, pile-driving Death Metal madness.

CANNIBAL CORPSE’s official U.S. headlining tour will commence this April. Sponsored by Metal Blade Records, Good Fight Entertainment and dB Drum Shoes, the U.S. Torture Tour 2012 will begin April 5 in Jacksonville, Florida. Support on the near month-long trek will be provided by Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn and Arkaik. CANNIBAL CORPSE – New Video Premiere ‘Encased In Concrete’ Hosted By Bloody Disgusting

In celebration of the their brand new full-length, Torture, released TODAY in North America through Metal Blade Records, Death Metal’s most revered act, CANNIBAL CORPSE, are pleased to unveil the official new video for “Encased In Concrete”. The video was directed by David Brodsky of MyGoodEye (Black Dahlia Murder, Goatwhore, Municipal Waste, Suffocation etc.) and is being hosted by prime horror portal, Bloody Disgusting.

Death Metal monarchs CANNIBAL CORPSE grace the cover of the April 2012 edition of Decibel Magazine: The Zombie Issue! Their third time on the cover of one of Metal’s most extreme and revered publications finds bloodied growl-merchant George “Corpsgrinder” Fisher at war with the undead.

Inside, author Chris Dick unearths a thoroughly absorbing ‘CORPSE dissertation that includes collective discussions about the creation of their monolithic new album, Torture, the band’s earliest encounters with censorship, artistic expression, facts and figures on one of the genre’s highest selling bands to date and of course, the relevance of zombies in 2012.

CANNIBAL CORPSE – Reigning Kings Of Death Metal Set To Release Twelfth Studio Album: ‘Torture’

America’s reigning kings of brutality, CANNIBAL CORPSE, will unleash their twelfth studio offering this March via Metal Blade Records. Aptly titled Torture, the follow-up to 2009’s Evisceration Plague offers up 12 tracks of maniacally precise, soul-searing Death Metal. Torture was again produced by Hate Eternal’s Erik Rutan at his own Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida as well as Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, and features the maniacal cover art by longtime CANNIBAL CORPSE artist, Vincent Locke, viewable HERE.

While Torture marks the latest progression in the band’s sound, it also witnesses a return to what drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz accurately terms “the frenzied attack of Butchered At Birth (1991) or Tomb Of The Mutilated (1992),” infusing the band’s advanced musicianship with the raw savagery that haunted their earlier releases, and in the process conceiving the definitive CANNIBAL CORPSE record. Adds bassist Alex Webster on the outcome of the record: “We’re extremely happy with how Torture turned out. Erik Rutan did an amazing job with the production, and the songwriting and performances may be our strongest yet. We can’t wait until our fans get to hear the whole thing!”

As a precursor to the release, CANNIBAL CORPSE will perform a special one-off show at the Culture Room in West Palm Beach, Florida on January 22nd then head to the seas to take part in this year’s edition of the 70,000 Tons Of Metal Cruise. The band will get a short break before a near month-long march through Europe on the Full Of Hate 2012 tour with labelmates Behemoth.
