LAVATORY – Joins The Pulverised Records Roster

Pulverised Records are pleased to announce the latest addition to their roster of brutality: Malaysian Death Metal deviants, LAVATORY. Spawned in 2012,  a five-song EP entitled Transgression was issued earlier this Summer and showcases their unwavering penchant for raw, Swede-ian Death Metal as originally conjured by the likes of Entombed, Carcass and Dismember. LAVATORY is currently working on their full-length debut. In the meantime, sample their delicious sonic decay below!

Notes LAVATORY throat-slasher Muntah Ke Darah of the union with Pulverised: “It’s a dream come true for LAVATORY to sign with Pulverised as we are the first Malaysian band offered with this opportunity.”

Adds Pulverised Records label manager Roy Yeo: “LAVATORY caught us by complete surprise when we first heard them, and truth be told, there really aren’t many bands in the Southeast Asia region paying tribute to the elder statesmen of Swedish Death Metal! This sinister alliance between LAVATORY and Pulverised Records will prove to be an interesting yet lethal one indeed. We cannot wait to hear how they will pick up from where they left off with the Transgression EP. Something tells me that a mixture of sick, crushing and rotten Death Metal is coming our way!”

Further info on LAVATORY to be announced in the coming weeks.

LAVATORY:

Muntah Darah – Vocals

Djinn – Guitars

Jahanam – Guitars

Progressive Power Metal troupe, VISION DIVINE, recently posted a new track, Mermaids From Their Moons, from their forthcoming new full-length. Titled Destination Set To Nowhere, the 11-track concept album is scheduled to drop in North America on September 18, 2012 via Eagle Rock imprint Armoury Records. Featuring founding guitarist/songwriter Olaf Thorsen (Labyrinth) and singer Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Rhapsody Of Fire, Kamelot live), the band’s seventh studio offering delivers a melting pot of epic Metal anthems with a futuristic concept that follows a man’s journey through outer space in a quest to escape the social and political injustices of planet Earth.

In a 4.5/5 rating Metal Underground commended the band for their “beautiful classic progressive elements blended with driving riffs,” Metal Temple applauded VISION DIVINE  for offering “an accessible showcase of musical prowess and utter creativity to step into what could be in the not so far future,” and crowned the release a candidate for album of the year, while Axis Of Metal notes: “VISION DIVINE really perfect that floating, futuristic atmosphere that bands like Pagan’s Mind, Manticora and Alchemist also feature heavily in their Power Metal.”

VISION DIVINE:

Fabio Lione – Vocals

Olaf Thorsen – Guitars

Federico Puleri – Guitars

Alessio Lucatti – Keyboards, Piano

Andrea “Tower” Torricini – Bass

Alessandro Bissa – Drums

SAMOTHRACE – Forced To Withdraw From East Coast Tour

Posted in doom metal, Heavy Metal, heavy metal news, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , on August 31, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

Seattle Doom quartet SAMOTHRACE have just issued a statement on their unfortunate but necessary withdrawal from the pending East Coast tour with Pallbearer and Royal Thunder, set to embark in just one week:

“Samothrace is very sorry to announce that we will have to cancel our part on the upcoming tour with Pallbearer and Royal Thunder due to an immediate illness in the family of a band member. The most important thing right now is family. We are stoked to have had the opportunity to do the tour and will be planning to make our way out east in the near future. We appreciate the understanding.”

SAMOTHRACE just wrapped up a five-city West Coast tour last week in support of their acclaimed sophomore LP Reverence To Stone, released via 20 Buck Spin at the end of July. The album was recorded at Soundhouse Studios in Seattle with producer Brandon Fitzsimmons (ex-Wormwood) and mastered at Earhammer by Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil, Graves At Sea).

Reverence To Stone is still streaming in its entirety via PITCHFORK:
http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/13910-samothrace-reverence-to-stone/

“…Samothrace position themselves on a weird axis between Sabbathian doom worship and psychedelic freak out sludge (á la Cough or Rwake), along with an Isis-esque rhythmic complexity and molten tempo. 8/10” – Decibel

“…the  second full-length from Seattle quartet Samothrace for 20 Buck Spin comprises only two tracks, but they’re diverse and dynamic enough to prove that the breadth of doom is wider than a stylistic rut.” – Pitchfork
