FANS ENCOURAGED TO TAKE PART IN RECORDING PROCESS

_________________________________

(Los Angeles, CA) – Austin-based trio, Not In The Face, is proud to announce they have teamed up with PledgeMusic, offering fans an opportunity to actually participate in recording sessions for their new EP. They are currently in the Studio in Vancouver, B.C., recording with legendary producers Bob Ezrin (Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, KISS, Deftones) and GGGarth Richardson (Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Melvins, Motley Crue). Friends and fans now have a chance to be involved with the process, Not In The Face and even Ezrin himself, are offering a variety of incentives to promote this unique opportunity through PledgeMusic.com.

Not In The Face made their first appearances (in 2009) as a two-piece outfit playing around the local Austin, Texas music scene. The band started as a creative outlet and to have fun. Before long, they had created a large following, released two records, the CD Bikini and the EP Walk as well as extensive touring across the states. Not In The Face added a third member in 2012, and are currently performing as a three-piece band, featuring Jonathan Terrell on guitar and lead vocals, Wes Cargal on the drums and Michael Anthony Gibson on lead guitar.

Some of their success has included seven successful, major market US tours, four major festivals, including multiple official SXSW shows, the main stage Fun, Fun, Fun Fest, concerts with the likes of ZZ Top, Guitar Wolf, Black Lips, Reverend Horton Heat, David Allan Coe as well as an east coast tour with the legendary X.

Once the recording sessions are completed, Not In The Face are going on a West Coast/East Coast tour, including performing at the Hootenanny Festival on July 6th and Austin’s ACL Festival – the weekend of October 11 – 13.

Devil To Pay - Fate Is Your Muse - promo cover pic

Ripple Music still has a handful of the Limited Edition Splatter Vinyl packages on hand. Limited to a run of 100 units, this clear splatter vinyl comes with a signed poster, digital download card and tarot card lyric sheet insert. Order the package at this location.

Fate is Your Muse is an introspective lyrical journey that careens from the metaphysical, to the absurd, to the pragmatic (and back again), all set to bone crushing heaviness wrapped in elaborate vocal melodies and elegant guitar phrases. Exploring topics such as reincarnation, the end of days, and the thin veil between reality and fantasy, the Indianapolis foursome create a rare musical experience; one that will have heavy rock fans returning for the primal emotional riffs, as well as the complex and heady lyrical content.

PRIMITIVE MAN “SCORN” – A Scathing, Blackened Doom Journey To The Outer Cliffs Of Hell

Primitive Front

PRIMITIVE MAN – As I listen to Scorn, I cannot help seeing myself being pulled into an invading dark vacuum that drops me upon the outer cliffs of hell. Seriously, the mood, atmosphere, vocals and overpowering vibes from Scorn sound so hellish that it’s ridiculously scary. Then again, that’s what Dark, Blackened and raging Metal will do to me every time. However, Primitive Man just comes across as so legitimately evil that I cannot help applaud their authenticity.

Primitive Man’s debut album Scorn will be reissued by the mighty Relapse Records on August 20th, 2013. Scorn exhibits some deadly serious Doom Metal, mixed with some Sludge and splattered with more darkness than a cloudy Northern sky during the height of Winter in Norway. It’s very difficult for me not to become (somewhat) hypnotized by the constant thundering stomp that Scorn radiates with its beats. Fuzzed-out, old school guitar tones blanket this album with a slice of Industrial noise and (a feeling of) cavernous atmospherics for special effects, making Scorn all the more legitimately chilling.

The title song (and album opener) is an epic that clocks in around 11:44 and is so memorable that I want to scream my face off in Metal jubilation.

If the album cover artwork doesn’t scare the shit out of you, then trust me, listening to Scorn by yourself with the lights dimmed or completely off will. Primitive Man is one Metal band from Denver, Colorado, that I want on my Metal side of the fence. I cringe at the thought of really hearing this band becoming pissed off to higher heights; Scorn has been a Metal lesson well deserved and more than welcomed for my Metal soul. Metal be thy name.

SANNHET – Debut LP From Brooklyn Trio To See CD Release

Posted in instrumental metal, instrumental music, Metal, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , on June 18, 2013 by Metal Odyssey

Sannhet - Known Flood - promo cover pic!

Following a successful vinyl/digital release in February, the maiden release from Brooklyn-based (Sacrament MusicKnown Flood, the debut album from trio SANNHET, is now confirmed for release on CD via Consouling Sounds.

With nearly forty-five minutes of electrified post-metal, fueled with domineering riff-building movements and intense percussive hostility, Known Flood unifies SANNHET’s lightly blackened atmospheric style, captured by Colin Marston (Krallice, Behold… The Arctopus, Dysrhythmia) and mastered by Carl Saff. The album and the band’s live performances across the NYC region supporting it have captivated fans and media alike, the band’s unique approach standing out in heavy contrast in an otherwise massively over saturated genre. SANNHET bends genres effortlessly, and blends it together in a coherent monster of an album. 45 minutes of adventurous aural bliss pass in the blink of an eye.

Licensed directly from Sacrament Music, the CD version of Known Flood will be made available through Belgium-based Consouling Sounds, the label’s aim to put extraordinary music in the post, doom and ambient niche and sub niches into the spotlight. Set for European release on July 8th, and North American release a day later, preorders for the disc are available HERE. The album is also still available on LP and digitally via Sacrament Music RIGHT HERE.

Stream Known Flood via Vice/Noisey AT THIS LOCATION.

Locals can catch them on June 28th supporting Locrian at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, home to Sacrament Music. Stay tuned for more SANNHET live/tour dates to be announced in the coming weeks.

SANNHET Live:

6/28/2013 Saint Vitus Bar – Brooklyn, NY w/ Locrian [info]

“…soaring post-rock with elements of black metal tremolo-picking, hardcore, and more. Think Russian Circles meets Altar of Plagues.” – BrooklynVegan
