INEPSY: No Speed Limit For Destruction Reissue From Canadian Crust Punks, Out Now via Tankcrimes

On their third album, No Speed Limit For Destruction, Canada’s INEPSY leave the d-beat behind in favor of some Tank-meets-Motӧrhead NWOBHM influenced hard rock/metal/punk. Initially released in 2007, the final full-length from Canada’s now legendary rock ‘n’ roll crust punks released on Friday, March 27th, on CD and limited-edition vinyl via Tankcrimes.

INEPSY notoriously existed from 1999 to 2011, unloading a barrage of EPs and LPs in their twelve years of activity. Now, Tankcrimes honors the band’s revered legacy with physical reissues of their entire catalog.

“We wanted to do something different,” said bassist J.P. Hearse of No Speed Limit For Destruction in an interview with Bandcamp Daily last year. “We were always known for our d-beat/rock ‘n’ roll sound, but we wanted to focus more on the rock ’n’ roll side – mid-tempo stuff. When [late guitarist] Steve [Bennett] left the band, we brought in [guitarist] Bob-E to take over [on] rhythm guitar. The album wasn’t well received at first, but over time, we realized either people hated it, or they thought it was our best material. There was no middle ground. Looking back, we discovered there was an issue with one of the guitar tracks. It wasn’t loud enough, so without realizing it, we had unintentionally dialed back the distortion, shifting the overall sound of the band a bit. Despite all that, we still loved the album and had a blast playing those songs live.”

“That was courage on a fucking twelve-inch, dude,” said Tankcrimes owner Scotty Heath. “They were the kings of crust and had ushered in an entire new style of music.” [Read the full interview HERE].

HORRID HUMAN CONDITION – Italian Crust / Grindcore Squad To Release Debut Album: Perpetual Imbalance

Posted in crust punk, Extreme Metal, grindcore, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on February 19, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Italian crust / grindcore squad HORRID HUMAN CONDITION will release their debut album Perpetual Imbalance on April 18th 2025 via Time To Kill Records.

The first single, “Abused by Life”, is now streaming HERE.

The band commented:

“‘Abused by Life’ was the first track composed by the band, shortly after the formation in the summer of 2022. Musically, it is a synthesis of the influences found throughout the album, ranging from neocrust to more traditionally crust punk sounds, with some black metal elements. The song deals with the theme of human exploitation in the workplace. In an increasingly fast-paced and cynical society, the ones who suffer the consequences are the workers, forced to give up their rights just to survive, spending a part of their existence in a state of alienation.”

“The lyrics are inspired by two major films: ‘Metropolis’ by Fritz Lang and ‘The Working Class Goes to Heaven’ by Elio Petri.”

Track-list:

01 – Prelude to Failure
02 – Man is Overrated
03 – Heavy Burden
04 – The Great Decay
05 – Endless Nightmare
06 – Scorn
07 – A New Famine
08 – Price to Pay
09 – Nowhere to Hide
10 – Abused by Life
11 – Disguise
12 – Total Indifference
13 – The Last Era
14 – Black Lungs

Band Bio: Horrid Human Condition was formed in the summer of 2022 when Alessandro (vocals), Claudio (guitar) and Marino (bass) met Carlo (drums). Drawing from parallel experiences with other projects (laCasta, Nigredo), the first sessions came out very productive: in a few months the band wrote 14 songs, played live for the first time in March 2023 and recorded in December of the same year.

The band’s name is a sign of the social and existential dread of mankind. It’s the disillusion that comes forth when one realizes that the system in which all of us live thrives not for the good of the people, but for the good of the rich and powerful, in the expense of the far majority of us who are less fortunate.

It’s the disillusion that comes forth when one realizes that money, religion, morals, politics and so on are just tools used by power to maintain itself.

Musically, Crust Punk and Grindcore can convey this dread very well, with their extreme and fast-paced rhythms. A sharp and high-pitched guitar, a sludgy, acid, monolithic bass and machine-gun-like drums support screamed-out and barked vocals, in a Triumph of desperate energy, where the band actively seeks out contact with the public.

HELLBASTARD – With a mix of Metal that features even a Reggae song (Throw The Petrol Bomb) to conclude this new Sons Of Bitches EP from the legendary HELLBASTARD, the bottom Metal line goes like this:

HELLBASTARD – Sons Of Bitches EP is Stone’s METAL Pick Of The Day!

Thrash Metal fans will have no problem feeding Sons Of Bitches into their brains, while Hardcore fans shall appreciate the pissed-off attitude and lyrics that HELLBASTARD administers. Spanning across four decades, the UK’s HELLBASTARD have created, influenced and performed Crust Punk and Thrash; and are an obvious MUST to add to ANY Metalhead’s Metal collection.

Old School and not succumbing to any Metal modernistic trends, HELLBASTARD have once again returned with new material worthy of shouting about across the continents and/or slamming down a 6-pack of ale to. Metal be thy name.
