QUEENSRŸCHE ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM “THE VERDICT” / BAND ANNOUNCES SPRING HEADLINE U.S. TOUR!

Bellevue, Washington – October 29, 2018 – Rock icons Queensrÿche have just announced their newest album “The Verdict” out March 1st via Century Media Records. The band’s forthcoming release was produced, mixed and mastered by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Iced Earth, Hatebreed) at Uberbeatz in Lynwood, WA, Planet-Z in Wilbraham, MA and Watershed Studio in Seattle, WA. The Verdict follows the bands most recent release, Condition Hüman, received rave reviews from outlets such as Loudwire, KNAC, About.com, and more. The 2015 release debuted on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart at #5 with over 14,000 units sold first week and 100,000 albums sold globally to date.

Queensrÿche have secured a triumphant legacy as one of hard rock’s most respected and celebrated acts in the industry, selling over 30 million albums around the world across in the span of their 30-plus year career. WHILE HEAVEN WEPT – ‘Vast Oceans Lachrymose’ Lineup To Embark On ‘Farewell’ European Dates

In early 2015, WHILE HEAVEN WEPT main man Tom Phillips had to regrettably pull the plug on the band’s European tour in support of their latest studio album, “Suspended At Aphelion”. The decision led to Phillips’ unexpected retirement from the metal scene, effectively putting the revered doomsters on ice. However, Phillips and his band mates have long sought to make amends to the European crowds who have so strongly backed WHILE HEAVEN WEPT over the years. Now, as 2018 draws to a close, the most recent incarnation of WHILE HEAVEN WEPT that started with 2009’s classic “Vast Oceans Lachrymose” will play its final shows together on a run of European dates that begins November 16 at Germany’s Hammer Of Doom Festival.

“I agreed to do these shows to give everyone else – the band members, our fans, even myself some closure, especially since the last tour was cancelled,” says Phillips. “The other aspect is the circumstances and priorities of the musicians involved are simply not aligned with what an actively touring band requires anymore.”

The “Vast Oceans Lachrymose” lineup – rounded out by bassist Jim Hunter, vocalist Rain Irving, second guitarist Scott Loose, keyboardist/harmony vocalist Michelle Schrotz and drummer Trevor Schrotz – have been holed up in a Virginia rehearsal room putting together a setlist that is not only representative of the latest era of WHILE HEAVEN WEPT, but the band’s storied past as well. According to Phillips, some of WHILE HEAVEN WEPT‘s most memorable shows have taken place on European shores, including their 2010 appearance at Hammer Of Doom alongside Irish metallers PRIMORDIAL, which was not only Irving’s third show with the band, but also where the “Triumph: Tragedy: Transcendence” DVD/live album was recorded.

“We’ve always had a great time sharing the stage with PRIMORDIAL,” he says. “I think we’ve played with them more than anyone else in our history – and that’s always been such a great insight into the scope of melancholia and epos. Of course, we’ve also had the great honor of playing with heroes, family and upcoming bands who have gone on to become some of the biggest names out there like ALCEST and GHOST. Most of all though, it’s connecting directly with the people who really care about what we do and again, that’s what these upcoming shows are really about.”

The shows will offer another treat for fans – a limited-edition shirt commemorating the 30th anniversary of the band. “It’s an exclusive design by Gustavo Sazes, who has done the covers for our last couple of albums,” says Phillips. “There’s quite a few layers to the design and it definitely correlates to ‘Fear Of Infinity’ and ‘Suspended At Aphelion’. Personally, I think it turned out amazing and while it does represent our 30th anniversary, for now, it will be available exclusively at the concerts.” `

While these European dates signal the end for the “Vast Oceans Lachrymose” era of WHILE HEAVEN WEPT, it does not mean the end for the band. Phillips says there is an entire album of unfinished material that sits between “Fear Of Infinity” and “Suspended At Aphelion” in which he may look to finalize at some point.

“In the end, I’d started on a solo project prior to being involved with the WALPYRGUS album [2017’s ‘Walpyrgus Nights’], but with the WHILE HEAVEN WEPT shows coming up, I haven’t even looked at that again. But for WHILE HEAVEN WEPT, as long as I’m breathing, WHILE HEAVEN WEPT exists, even if the lineup changes for the nth time or we are strictly DIY on a small, independent scale. Only time will tell. For now, it’s time to commemorate a milestone and the end of an era!”

ENSIFERUM – Announces 2019 Path To Glory North American Headlining Tour

After nearly four years of absence, ENSIFERUM has announced a full North American headlining tour. Set to begin January 5th and run through January 29th, support will be provided by Septicflesh as well as an additional opener still to be announced.

“When we made One Man Army (2015), we wanted it to sound more like a live album than a traditional studio album. DUNGEÖNHAMMER was formed by two maniacs – one from The Netherlands, the other France – who met while studying in Milan, Italy. What started as a friendship born from a shared passion of ’80s thrash and speed metal bands soon became the repulsive, two-headed beast known as DUNGEÖNHAMMER.

With Infernal Moon, DUNGEÖNHAMMER delivers pure filth, hypnotic, convulsion-inducing rhythms and an uncontrollable urge to bang your head. DUNGEÖNHAMMER rounds out this mayhem with vocals reminiscent of Tom G. Warrior’s Hammer ov Hell days and a nod to early ’90s Scandinavian death metal.

MAIDEN’S ACCLAIMED REMASTERS GET THE CD DIGIPAK TREATMENT

Parlophone Records (BMG in the US) will continue their reissues series of the IRON MAIDEN catalogue with The Studio Collection – Remastered, covering the band’s sixteen-strong studio albums across their career to date.

Following on from 2014/2017’s black vinyl releases and 2015’s Mastered for iTunes project, The Studio Collection – Remastered will be released on the Digipak CD format, with the track listing matching the original UK releases. The recordings are taken from the same remasters as the 2015 hi-res digital releases. The albums will be released chronologically in batches of four, across a nine month period superseding the previously available studio catalogue and all titles will also be made available on streaming platforms. As a bonus for collectors, one CD from each batch of releases will also be optionally available in a specially artworked box featuring a 1:24 scale figurine and exclusive patch. In the November 16th batch, this will be The Number Of The Beast.

Maiden founder member and bassist Steve Harris says, “We’ve wanted to revisit these for a long time and I was delighted with the remastering we did in 2015. I thought it was the best that our albums have ever sounded and it was only right that we made them available on CD now too.”

FAITHSEDGE – Fourth Studio Album Releases In First Quarter Of 2019!

Faithsedge is wrapping up the recording for their fourth album due 1st quarter of 2019

Fronted by singer/songwriter Giancarlo Floridia vocals were tracked by Jeff Pogan at Costa Mesa recording studios.

The album also marks the return of former Stryper bassist Tim Gaines holding up the rhythm section with Mr. Big / Ace Frehley drummer Matt Starr . Bass tracking was done in Arizona and drum tracking in Los Angeles.

Former Dokken guitarist Alex De Rosso will be doing all the guitar work for the album along with producing mixing and mastering of the album at The New Cube studios in Italy.

The album is promised to be a return to the melodic sounds of 80’s arena rock, also with a mix of progressive and metal.

Comments bassist/vocalist Denimal Blake: “It is a statement of our intent: To inject ‘Power’ back into a heavy metal scene that has been somewhat bereft of it. Whether if it truly is an objective case or not, that is our summary and the crux of the band. When heavy metal first gained a foothold it was the personification of musical power, a very special time that is finally coming back to strength, regardless of trends, due to its dominance.”

ROAD WARRIOR (who are rounded out by guitarist Overdryve and drummer Villon) are said to have recorded Power with “gusto, the gnashing teeth and thrusting of loins,” meaning, the album’s cuts are leaning heavily on the band’s ’80s influences as well as the proto-metal scene from the latter part of the ’70s. Says Blake: “Our influences are in a blender this time, laced with the flavor of ROAD WARRIOR, METAL CHURCH, BLACKKOUT, early IRON MAIDEN, SAVATAGE, JUDAS PRIEST, LOUDNESS, RIOT, TWISTED SISTER and HEXX.”

Accordingly, Blake says the album’s lyrical themes are quite varied: “Sex, sex and more sex, along with a bit of historical conspiracy, power, pre-diluvial civilization and hotter sex.” Tongue-and-cheek aside, Blake and his ROAD WARRIOR bandmates remain steadfast in their conviction to true heavy metal.

“We have an acute awareness of the NWOTHM [NEW WAVE OF TRADITIONAL HEAVY METAL] and know that we stand out in many ways, whether it’s due to influence, locality or pedigree. Either way, I cannot speak for the ears of others, but we are supremely confident the album will live up to the album cover and title and help usher in a new age of classic rock and metal as the trends dissolve.”

Second To Sun is a metal band from Saint Petersburg, Russia, founded in 2012 by its guitarist Vladimir Lehtinen. Second To Sun concentrate on the musical and creative aspect more and use visual elements on every song (artwork, lyrics, behind the song infos etc.) to give more depth and back story to the music. The band’s music contains a blend of metal genres: on the one hand, it has the many rhythmic elements of groove metal; on the other hand, it continues the legacy of such classic Scandinavian black metal bands as Emperor, Mayhem, and Dakthrone.

Such diverse musical roots of the band protrude from Vladimir Lehtinen’s songwriting, Gleb Sysoev‘s soul-crushing vocals and Fedor Borovsky‘s groovy drum lines. The band releases two versions of each album – the vocal and the instrumental one. Each individual instrumental composition is accompanied by unique artwork and a hefty description of the story the composition tells, which provides a deeper insight into the music, as well as the band’s inspiration and creative process. Second To Sun has released two albums – The First Chapter and The Black, and is now getting ready to release their third album: The Walk.
