20 years have passed since a Norwegian band released one of the most groundbreaking albums of Black Metal history, continuing a groundbreaking character for the dissemination of a genre out of a small, rather subcultural audience in a new flow of Extreme Metal sounds. The band was SATYRICON and the masterpiece called NEMESIS DIVINA. Now, 20 years later, SATYRICON have decided to play on a few selected concerts, this seminal album, in all of its unique and immeasurable entirety. We are proud that one of those rare shows will go with us on our stage! Hail to Mother North!
On November 28th, 1964 – THE KINKS peaked at #7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with their super legendary song: You Really Got Me. This was the first top ten single by THE KINKS in the United States. Whoa! I was not born yet, when this song was first playing on the radio. Whoa, again!
On November 28th, 1970 – THE WHO hits #12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with See Me, Feel Me from their Rock Opera studio album: Tommy.

On November 28th, 2015 – Skeletons, the newly released cover song album, from DANZIG is ranked at #2, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Man, someone should have told Glenn Danzig to put a shirt on, for this album cover photo. Once you start growing man-boobs it’s game over, you know?
On November 28th, 2015 – Nightmares In The Waking State, Part 1, the newly released studio album from SOLUTION .45 is ranked at #100, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Yup. This album was released via AFM Records. Hey, that’s some kick-ass album cover art! Whoa, man!
SYMPHONY X – On July 24th of this year, New Jersey’s Progressive Metal giants, SYMPHONY X, released their 9th studio album, via Nuclear Blast: Underworld. What a treat this album has been for my inner, middle and outer ears! Did I say outer ears? I am getting ahead of myself, I guess. Russell Allen is just boss on vocals; I needed to get that in.
I absolutely love the way SYMPHONY X meticulously piece together the song and an outstanding example of this, from Underworld, is their musical creation: Nevermore. Below is the lyric video of Nevermore for you to hear and read along to. SYMPHONY X are at the pinnacle of their Progressive Metal game with both this song and their entire Underworld album for that matter, in my Metal opinion. Simply fabulous stuff. Metal Be Thy Name. – Stone
BATTLECROSS – In essence, I could very well state that the entire Rise To Power studio album from BATTLECROSS is Metal Odyssey’s METAL Pick Of The Day. With ten songs of Thrash Metal splendor, Rise To Power is a megastar Metal release for 2015, in my Metal opinion. Track number 2 from this album, Not Your Slave, is the song featured here today and it’s a strong example of just how Rise To Power plays out.
BATTLECROSS is a Midwest Thrash Metal band that the state of Michigan should be extremely proud of. I am ecstatic that BATTLECROSS has grabbed the torch of Thrash Metal, helping to secure the genre for many years to come. Rise To Power is the third studio album for BATTLECROSS on the Metal Blade Records label. In the event you haven’t checked out this band, you darn well should.
Listen below and hear for yourself! I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do. Metal Be Thy Name. – Stone

Band Biography
Conflicted – formed in 2010 – is a Crossover Thrash Metal band from Arica, Chile. At the beginning of its career the band launched their debut demo Dirty Snake Attack 10″, and two years later their first full length called Social Disorder released in 2012 Via Sick Bangers Metal Label and Distro.
Their home town Arica, borders with Peru and Bolivia, countries where the band has been able to perform promoting their debut album in a mini-tour called “South Disorder”,” sharing the stage with bands such as Violator, Onslaught, Artillery, Exumer and Annihilator.
In 2013, the band released Sick Mosh, a live DVD along with label mates Nuclear and Lefutray. This audiovisual material helped the band to be part of one of the most important festivals of extreme music in South America: The Metal Fest, carried out in Santiago, Chile on April 2014. The festival also had the presence of important bands like Pentagram (Chile), Dark Angel, At the Gates, Voivod, Hypocrisy and Megadeth.
FALLEN ANGELS – Seattle Washington’s FALLEN ANGELS have taken me by incredible surprise this year, with their enormously grand album of Thrash Metal glory titled: World In Decay. As an older Thrashaholic like myself, I feel reassured that old school Thrash Metal will live on, due to the likes of FALLEN ANGELS. What a thrill this album is from these fine Thrashers! Holy shit it’s really good.
Track #2 on World In Decay is Nightmare (listen below). While listening to Brad“Bradzilla” Kennaugh on vocals, he takes me back to a time when Thrash on vinyl was freaking king. Erik Hanson and Matt Be Roth are the guitar duo that blazes through this song below, like hell’s wildfire out of control! Bassist Carl Larsson and drummer Steve Spitzbart kick ass. How’s that for being plain-speaking? Whoa.
Look for World In Decayto make a STRONG showing in my year-end list of Best Metal Albums of 2015. Metal Be Thy Name. – Stone

ARMORED SAINT – From The City Of Angels came one of the greatest Classic Metal bands of our time (IMO) and I’m talking about ARMORED SAINT. This band of Metal warriors returned in 2015 with their seventh full-length studio album, via Metal Blade Records: Win Hands Down. This album is a winner, loaded with nine fabulous songs to satisfy us die-hard old schoolers of Metal.
Win Hands Down was produced by ARMORED SAINT bassist Joey Vera and is an enormous follow-up to 2010’s La Raza studio album, in my Metal opinion. John Bush sings in his awesome and unique fashion on this album; you can hear for yourself in the music video below. I don’t know what it is, yet the vocals of John Bush resonates splendid Metal vibes throughout my Metal brain and veins. It’s always been that way. Cool.
The entire band is on freaking fire throughout Win Hands Down. Guitarists Phil Sandoval and Jeff Duncan are a superb duo to take in. The rhythm section of Joey Vera on bass and Gonzo Sandoval on drums are a pounding potion of ear euphoria for me! The bridge in the song Win Hands Down is something else too; very different as you’ll hear. Whoa. Yeah, I dig ARMORED SAINT and hopefully you’ll dig their music video for the title track of their album: Win Hands Down. Metal Be Thy Name. – Stone
New Jersey’s COGNITIVE will be hitting Full Force Studio to record its second full length album Deformity.
The band will be working with ‘Smoking’ Joe Cincotta who has worked alongside bands such as SUFFOCATION, BODYCOUNT and INTERNAL BLEEDING. Artwork for the album will be created by renowned illustrator Par Olofsson (SPAWN OF POSSESSION, IMMOLATION, ABYSMAL DAWN, JOB FOR A COWBOY). The legendary Alan Douches will master the upcoming album at West West Side (SEPULTURA, CONVERGE, HATEBREED).
Following the addition of new members guitarist Harry Lannon and bassist Ian Bainbridge, COGNITIVE have forged new ground and are eager to unleash the bands new material which will present a more formidable sound and direction. The band is currently seeking a label and aiming to have the album released by March 2016.
TODAY IS THE DAY has crossed the Atlantic to begin a month-long tour of Europe, beginning today, Saturday, November 21st, with support for the entire trek to be provided by Italian sludge savages, Grime.
The feral experimental metal trio TODAY IS THE DAY sees founding frontman Steve Austin currently flanked by bassist Trevor Thomas and drummer Douglas Andrae. The band has been touring relentlessly since the release of their tenth studio full-length, Animal Mother, released last year on Southern Lord, taking to the road for long stints with Lazer/Wulf and Abigail Williams; their upcoming European tour will showcase them at their gnarled, refined best.
On their way out of the country, Austin announced: “Our European tour starts this Saturday in Brussels. The tour is of course still on and we are not cancelling. We are going to go about our lives as we normally do and play music for our fans and friends in Europe, not afraid. I hope to see you there! We are with you Europe! Let it rip, light it up!”
TODAY IS THE DAY’s video for “Heathen” is playing RIGHT HERE or below:
Animal Mother is available from Southern Lord digitally HERE and on CD and LP HERE.
Steve Austin has also been occupied recently with scoring the soundtrack to Addiction: A 60’s Love Story, a vice-soaked feature-length directed by Tate Steinseck. Today Northern Irish Death Metallers Rex Shachath release their latest offering, Revocation Of The Blood Elect, via French label Great Dane Records, and to mark the occasion are streaming the EP in full right here!
Tackling social issues such as the state of modern society and man’s exorbitant desire for wealth at the expense of our natural world, the band have harnessed a sound more befitting to such issues in comparison to their debut release Sepulchral Torment. Old school ideals kneaded with modern Death Metal notions on a much more up to date and punchier production is what we have here.
Artwork (as seen above), was completed by UK artist Godmachine famed for his work with bands such as Suicide Silence, Bring Me The Horizon, Cannibal Corpse and Job For A Cowboy (to name a few). The EP was recorded, mixed and mastered by Joe Thompson at Sonic Forge Studio, Cardiff, Wales.
Check out the video for title track ‘Revocation Of The Blood Elect’!
“Death metal with venomous attitude!” – The Metal Gods Meltdown
“…punishing rhythms and atmospheric leads…” – Ave Noctum
“Rex Shachath have harnessed musical prowess with the type of agitatory lyrics and attitudes many could learn from.” – Belfast Metalheads
“Rex Shachath are a thoroughly locked in unit. Armed with an arsenal of killer ideas and riffs, displaying at times some Dying Fetus and Suffocation like groove.” – Inside The Coffin
Destination Nowhere, the riotous new debut album by Polish d-beat/crust ragers, STURMOVIK, is out this week via Selfmadegod Records, with the entire album having been made available for streaming.
Arising from the ashes of Wild Bitches, STURMOVIK contains two current members of Polish death metal horde, The Dead Goats – Paweł Bartulewicz and Radosław Pierściński (Neuropathia, ex-Squash Bowels), with the lineup rounded out by Błazej Kasprzak, Mariusz Rzepnicki and Krzysztof Drabikowski.
Recorded earlier this year, the band’s Destination Nowhere debut album boasts nine energetic anthems culminating into a half-hour of powerful, infectious tunes set to smash the system to nothingness. The caustic d-beat/crustpunk with eerie, melodic overtones in the outfit’s delivered attack on Destination Nowhere will undoubtedly be something all fans of Disfear, Wolfbrigade, Genocide SS, Victims, Hellshock and Martyrdöd will want to investigate.
STURMOVIK’s Destination Nowhere has been unchained in its entirety at THIS LOCATION or below:

Yes, the song Iron Man is on this album. Geez, stop asking. I just wanna add that the talented Mariah Carey was born in 1970. Whoa.

I was nine years old, back in 1975. The legendary slugger for the Boston Red Sox, David Ortiz, was born in 1975 too. Unreal.

This cool album was released back on October 2nd, via 7 Bros. Kill The Flaw is the tenth studio album (of original songs) from SEVENDUST.
Kill The Flaw has received a bounty of grand reviews across the blogosphere; just google about for yourself to see! I hear and sense the perseverance and skill laden chemistry of this legendary band, throughout this entire album. An Ocean of Void is a five-piece from Bordeaux, France. It is a project that plays hard-to-classify heavy music with plenty of contrasts since 2010. Its inspiration goes from different scenes as Post-Rock, Atmospheric Metal or Progressive Metal, with a Pink Floyd influence clearly established.
After a self-produced demo (2012), the band’s debut album ‘The Great Escape’ will see the light the 4th of December, through Inverse Records. With melancholic nuances and latent sadness, ‘The Great Escape’ is a perfect soundtrack for dark winter days, a real journey through feelings and emotions.
Track-List:
Diving in the Deepest Sea
Enigma
Silent Storm
Resonance
Behind Red Clouds
An Ocean of Void Part. I
A Faded Light
An Ocean of Void Part. II
