Blackened Thrashers ETERNAL DRAK Announces Quebec Tour Dates For Sixth Album The Violence of Time ~ Out Now!

Posted in Black Metal, blackened thrash, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , , on August 12, 2026 by Metal Odyssey

Blackened thrash metal entity Eternal Drak will storm stages across the province of Quebec this fall, announcing a run of regional tour dates in support of their sixth full‑length album, The Violence of Time, available now. The tour marks the band’s return to the province with their most aggressive and concept‑driven material to date, bringing their varied rhythm, catchy sound and uncompromising intensity directly to Quebec fans.

Across its ten tracks, the album dismantles the human understanding of past, present, and future. Each song is a violent thesis, a sonic and lyrical strike against the idea that time can be explained, contained, or understood. Instead of offering conclusions, the album explores fragments of realization, exposing how time pressures identity, warps memory, and rewrites causality.

Musically, the album is built for true old‑school metal devotees: those drawn to the raw spirit of thrash, the darkness of black metal, and the severity of death metal. Eternal Drak merge analog aggression with digital density, resulting in a sound that is varied in rhythm and catchy in impact, sharpened into their most cohesive identity yet.

Track Listing:
1. We Force It To Speak – 5:15
2. The Unborn Paths Rot – 3:51
3. Me Hice Simultaneo – 3:30
4. The Blasphemy of Time – 3:35
5. Chaos Is the Law – 3:34
6. Where Cause Is Buried – 3:55
7. Across the Watching Veils – 3:53
8. Breathing Once Again – 3:45
9. The Cosmos Rejects You – 4:09
10. No Direction Total War – 2:57
Album Length: 38:24

Every track begins with a central written idea. Once the concept is defined, Eternal Drak builds the music to reflect the emotion and message of the text. Riffs, rhythms, and structures are crafted to echo the same intention, ensuring that even listeners who perceive the voice as an instrument still feel the weight of the lyrics.

Long‑time listeners can expect emotional continuity, thematic depth, and a sound that finally consolidates the band’s identity after years of evolution.

Over the years, Eternal Drak have evolved from raw thrash‑and‑black foundations into a dynamic force shaped by death metal, groove, and even Latin folk influences. Their sound has grown alongside the metal scene itself, adapting to new tools and technologies while preserving the intensity and character that define the band.

MALEFIC Unleashes Provocative New Music Video for “Blood of the Throne” From Latest Album Impermanence

Atlanta blackened death/thrash unit Malefic has dropped the official music video for “Blood of the Throne”, the explosive opening track from their latest album Impermanence, released this past February via Terminus Hate City. The video marks a bold visual departure for the band, one that drummer/vocalist Aaron Baumoel calls “another form of artistic expression; another layer of depth to add to the media.”

“Blood of the Throne” has long been one of Malefic’s most popular tracks, a blistering blackened thrash assault built on high‑speed precision picking, ornate drumming, and a soaring melodic break. The new video juxtaposes the band’s extreme‑metal identity with Atlanta’s dominant hip‑hop cultural influence, an intentional contrast that reflects the city they call home.

Watch the “Blood of the Throne” music video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Fnnqfysxxo

Baumoel acknowledges that some viewers may misinterpret the imagery. Despite anticipating criticism, the band stands firmly behind the concept and the talented women who helped bring it to life. The track itself explores the crushing realities of capitalism and modern power structures.

“People will always judge based on their preconceived notion of things without ever digging in below the surface. This is part of the sickness in our society. We all know who the real demons of our society are; we just don’t agree on what the solution is,”adds Baumoel.

Following the video’s release, Malefic continues to push their latest album Impermanence, a 40‑minute whirlwind of thrash‑driven drumming, melodic black‑metal atmospheres, technical death‑metal precision, progressive rhythmic shifts, and lyrics rooted in personal struggle, societal pain, and existential reflection. Mixed by Alex Parra, the record rejects the sterile, overly‑compressed production dominating modern metal, instead embracing nuance, dynamics, and human imperfection.

“We wanted something that still showcased the nuances in the guitar work, the dynamics in the drumming, and allowed for mistakes. It just needed to feel human. The personal struggles, the current socio‑political issues, and the societal struggles all seemed extremely relatable… they tell the tale of the ever‑changing nature of life as a whole,” says Baumoel.

Track Listing:

  1. Blood of the Throne – [3:33]
  2. In Darkest Dreams (the Reaping) – [3:44]
  3. Of Gods and Man – [4:14]
  4. Idiocracy – [3:56]
  5. Deserter – [3:53]
  6. Disembodiment – [4:39]
  7. Obsidian Earth – [4:37]
  8. Echoes of Silence – [4:45]
  9. It Haunts – [4:01]

Formed in 2007, Malefic set out to push blackened metal into a modern direction while preserving its weight and emotional gravity. Their current lineup features Aaron Baumoel (drums/vocals), Jason Davila (guitar), Doug Rosander (bass), and Sam Williams (Guitar) (also of Cemetery Filth, Jaeger). The band’s collective experience across Atlanta’s metal scene fuels their razor‑tight live performances.

FANTOM – F.O.A.D. Records Present Remastered Edition of Cult Hungarian Black/Thrash Demo: Lucifer jelenj meg!

Posted in Black Metal, blackened thrash, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on April 21, 2026 by Metal Odyssey

A long-lost relic of Eastern European extreme metal resurfaces in definitive form, as F.O.A.D. Records present a newly remastered edition of FANTOM’s seminal demo material, now available on vinyl.

Remastered by Patrick Engel, this upgraded version captures the raw essence of one of Hungary’s earliest and most obscure black/thrash entities, often regarded as even darker and more sinister than their contemporaries.

This official reissue includes the band’s classic 1987 demo Lucifer jelenj meg!, now expanded with 7 additional tracks taken from a rare 1987 session not featured in the previous 2016 vinyl edition. The material has been re-transferred from a rediscovered tape – the best sounding source in existence – and meticulously remastered for vinyl by Patrick Engel at Temple Of Disharmony.

Drawing influence from bands such as Bathory, Possessed, Hellhammer, Venom and Slayer, FANTOM forged a primitive yet highly distinctive sound. Their songwriting is direct and unrefined, but steeped in a uniquely oppressive atmosphere of darkness, malevolence and occult tension.

The release comes as a silver laminated LP, including two inserts featuring lyrics, rare photographs and original artwork, preserving the band’s visual and sonic identity in full detail.

Watch the trailer HERE.

A crucial document of early black/thrash from behind the Iron Curtain: raw, obscure and essential for collectors and devotees of the genre’s darkest origins.

TÜRBÖWITCH – Hungarian Speed Maniacs Announce New Album: Under Haunted Skies

Posted in blackened thrash, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on January 25, 2026 by Metal Odyssey

Hungarian speed maniacs TÜRBÖWITCH have announced that their third full-length album, Under Haunted Skies, will be released on March 20th, 2026, via Time To Kill Records.

The new record marks a decisive step forward for the Budapest-based band, further refining the uncompromising attitude and relentless live energy that have earned them a strong reputation within the European underground. With Under Haunted Skies, TÜRBÖWITCH deliver their most focused and ferocious material to date: a concentrated blast of massive riffs, breakneck tempos and instinctive urgency.

Rooted in blackened speed-thrash, the album draws from the raw savagery and punk-fueled aggression of acts like Midnight, the razor-sharp thrash precision of The Crown, and the dark melodic drive of Hellripper, while maintaining a clearly identifiable personality. Melodic accents cut through the chaos, adding depth and character without ever dulling the band’s visceral impact.

Faithful to their no-compromise ethos, TÜRBÖWITCH channel the spirit of ’80s extreme metal through a modern sense of immediacy, delivering songs that are fast, filthy and built for maximum impact. With Time To Kill Records backing the release of Under Haunted Skies, the band are poised to bring their unholy speed assault to a wider audience, while remaining firmly rooted in the reckless intensity that has defined them since day one.

The first single “Markoláb” is streaming now:

04 – Cult Mastery
05 – Ashbringer

TÜRBÖWITCH – Hungarian Speed Maniacs Sign With Time To Kill Records

Posted in blackened thrash, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on December 30, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Hungarian speed maniacs TÜRBÖWITCH have officially signed with Time To Kill Records for the release of their third full-length album, scheduled to see the light in the first half of 2026. The agreement marks a new and decisive step forward for the Budapest-based band, whose uncompromising attitude and relentless live energy have steadily earned them a strong reputation within the European underground.

The upcoming record promises to be a concentrated blast of massive riffs and instinctive urgency, pushing TÜRBÖWITCH’s sound to its most focused and ferocious form to date. Rooted in blackened speed-thrash, the album blends the raw savagery and punk-fueled aggression of acts like Midnight, the sharp thrash precision of The Crown, and the dark, melodic drive of Hellripper, while maintaining a clearly identifiable personality. Melodic accents punctuate the chaos, adding depth and character without dulling the band’s visceral impact.

Faithful to their no-compromise ethos, TÜRBÖWITCH channel the spirit of ’80s extreme metal through a modern sense of immediacy, delivering songs that are fast, filthy, and built for maximum impact. With Time To Kill Records now backing the release, the band are poised to bring their unholy speed assault to a broader audience, while remaining firmly rooted in the reckless intensity that has defined them since day one.

Biography:

TÜRBÖWITCH was born in 2016 in Budapest, founded by vocalist Zslöd and guitarist Kommandante Klit as a raw, no-frills tribute to the sonic fury and visual madness of ’80s extreme metal. What started as a fun side project between longtime friends quickly evolved into a far more focused and dedicated band, without ever losing its unfiltered energy and love for chaos.

Over time, TÜRBÖWITCH grew into a full-fledged live five-piece. Their discography began with a demo in 2016, followed by the debut full-length “Napalm to Posers” (2017), the EP “Beyond the Last Call” (2018), and their second album “Fullmoon Liquorthropy”, released in late 2022.

Their momentum reached a new peak in June 2024, when they won the Wacken Metal Battle Hungary finals, earning a coveted slot at the legendary Wacken Open Air in August 2024, where they unleashed their sonic assault on the world’s biggest metal festival stage.

In March 2025, TÜRBÖWITCH hit the road with Swedish heavy metal titans Enforcer, taking their explosive live energy to even wider European audiences.

Line-up:

LEAD INJECTOR – Release “EVIL EXECUTIONER” First Single & Lyric Video | Debut Album Out February 20th, 2026

Posted in Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , , on December 21, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Dresden-based black/thrash newcomers LEAD INJECTOR present their debut album Witching Attack – an uncompromising homage to classic extreme metal, recorded over seven intensive days in August 2025 at Stereoid Studios in Schönfels, Saxony. “It was a really awesome time, we experimented a lot, racked our brains and learned a great deal,” recalls vocalist/bassist Leo about the sessions.

Watch “Evil Executioner” (Lyric Video) HERE

Founded in 2022, the trio is the first serious band for all three members after experiences in solo projects and school ensembles, and they quickly found their place in the local scene with their 2024 demo From the Crypts… of Hell. Witching Attack now combines re-recorded demo tracks with fresh material written in the meantime.

The songwriting process usually follows a proven pattern: guitarist Jason develops riffs and collects lyrical ideas which Leo further elaborates, with all three arranging together.

From the beginning, Lead Injector have demonstrated a knack for catchy song structures that sets them apart from average acts in this style. “We make sure that each of our songs is individual and unique, no two sound alike,” Leo emphasizes. This approach creates variety and memorability, qualities not taken for granted in the genre. The striking album artwork comes from SepulchralOwl.

The artist, who has accompanied the band since its early days, creates everything by hand from merchandise to flyers to stage banners, giving Lead Injector an unmistakable visual identity.

The band is deeply rooted in Dresden’s metal scene and maintains close connections with fellow groups like Sintage, Acid Blade and Mortuary Nightmare. The continuous exchange and mutual inspiration shape not only the music but also the sense of community at concerts, where familiar faces are always encountered.

SKELETONWITCH – “Unfit” For Disney, But Fit For A Wedding; Hometown Record Release Show Announced

A1024

Fresh off a short run of dates supporting Ghost B.C., Athens, Ohio-based Blackened Metal quintet, SKELETONWITCH, has announced a hometown release party for their forthcoming new full-length,Serpents Unleashed. The show will take place at The Union (18 W. Union St., Athens) on October 23rd, the eve of the kickoff to their extensive North American fall tour with The Black Dahlia Murder. Tickets for the event are just $10.

The Black Dahlia tour will be swiftly followed by another lap around America in early 2014 alongside Amon Amarth and Enslaved. Unfortunately for fans in Orlando however, where the tour stops on January 27th, SKELETONWITCH will not be allowed to perform at the local House of Blues, as the group has joined the likes of Exodus, Machine Head and others deemed “unfit to be associated with” Disney, on whose property the venue is located.

Skeletonwitch - band promo pic - #1 - 2013 - 66

Although SKELETONWITCH might be un-welcomed at the Magic Kingdom, a California couple has asked the band to make their dreams come true. During SKELETONWITCH’s performance in Fresno on November 15th, longtime fans Travis Bartlett and Lanae Forrest will get married on stage — making local venue Strummer’s their own happiest place on Earth. Says groom-to-be Bartlett, “Lanae and I are taken aback and beyond elated that SKELETONWITCH are willing to be a part of the most important day of our lives. There really aren’t words to show our appreciation for the band being with us as we begin our lives together.”

Skeletonwitch - Serpents Unleashed - promo cover pic

Commemorating the group’s 10-year anniversary, Serpents Unleashed – recorded earlier this year with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Isis, High on Fire), and featuring artwork by John Baizley (Baroness, Kylesa, Kvelertak) – will be unleashed in North America on October 29th, in Australia, Germany, Austria and Switzerland on October 25th and in the UK and the rest of Europe on October 28th. Serpents Unleashed is available for preorder at SKELETONWITCH.com in CD, LP, cassette, digital download and limited edition 7-inch collector’s box formats. In addition, you can now pre-order the album digitally at iTunes and BandCamp and receive an instant download of “I Am Of Death (Hell Has Arrived).”
