SKELETONWITCH will release a hand-screened, 180-gram limited vinyl edition of their acclaimed, Billboard-charting 2013 release, Serpents Unleashed, of which 100% of the proceeds will be donated to two animal shelters in the band’s home state of Ohio – The Athens County Humane Society and Columbus’ Pets Without Parents.

The members of Ohio’s most-loved heavy metal group have always been proud pet owners and are excited to raise awareness and support for two no-kill organizations in their region.Limited to a one-time-only pressing of 100 copies, the black LP includes a hand-screened, hand-numbered jacket with exclusive artwork and a hand-screened dust sleeve. It comes with a color poster and a sticker showcasing the album’s original masterful artwork by John Baizley (Baroness, Kylesa, Kvelertak), as well as a download card. Praised for being their most potent album to date, Serpents Unleashed appeared on countless year-end “best-of” lists (Decibel, Metal Injection, etc.) due to its “relentlessly intense, in-your-face brutality” (Metal Assault). SKELETONWITCH – “Serpents Unleashed” Debuts At #62 On Billboard’s Top 200; Album Also Cracks Top 10 On Independent, Hard Rock And Vinyl Album Charts

The critically adored new SKELETONWITCH offering, Serpents Unleashed, debuted on this week’s Billboard 200 at #62, marking the highest chart position of the band’s career! The record’s first-week sales marked a 68% jump from those of its 2011 predecessor, Forever Abomination.

Additionally, Serpents Unleashed debuted at #5 on this week’s Vinyl Albums chart, #7 on the Hard Rock Albums chart, #10 on the Independent Albums chart, #17 on the Internet Albums chart and #20 on the Rock Albums chart. Serpents Unleashed also debuted on the Top Current Albums chart at #87 in Canada, where the album reached #11 on the Hard Music chart as well.

Formed in Ohio a decade ago, SKELETONWITCH has received considerable acclaim for its trademark “blackened metal,” which Metal Hammer calls, “a potent brew of everything that makes metal so brilliant, vital and special.” The group’s relentless work ethic — personified by a 63-concerts-in-65-days test of endurance last year — is second to none in the genre, and true to form, the band is currently in the midst of an extensive North American tour with The Black Dahlia Murder. That tour will be followed by a US trek in early 2014 alongside Amon Amarth and Enslaved. International tour dates will be announced shortly.

SKELETONWITCH – “Unfit” For Disney, But Fit For A Wedding; Hometown Record Release Show Announced

Fresh off a short run of dates supporting Ghost B.C., Athens, Ohio-based Blackened Metal quintet, SKELETONWITCH, has announced a hometown release party for their forthcoming new full-length,Serpents Unleashed. The show will take place at The Union (18 W. Union St., Athens) on October 23rd, the eve of the kickoff to their extensive North American fall tour with The Black Dahlia Murder. Tickets for the event are just $10.

The Black Dahlia tour will be swiftly followed by another lap around America in early 2014 alongside Amon Amarth and Enslaved. Unfortunately for fans in Orlando however, where the tour stops on January 27th, SKELETONWITCH will not be allowed to perform at the local House of Blues, as the group has joined the likes of Exodus, Machine Head and others deemed “unfit to be associated with” Disney, on whose property the venue is located.

Although SKELETONWITCH might be un-welcomed at the Magic Kingdom, a California couple has asked the band to make their dreams come true. During SKELETONWITCH’s performance in Fresno on November 15th, longtime fans Travis Bartlett and Lanae Forrest will get married on stage — making local venue Strummer’s their own happiest place on Earth. Says groom-to-be Bartlett, “Lanae and I are taken aback and beyond elated that SKELETONWITCH are willing to be a part of the most important day of our lives. There really aren’t words to show our appreciation for the band being with us as we begin our lives together.”

Commemorating the group’s 10-year anniversary, Serpents Unleashed – recorded earlier this year with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Isis, High on Fire), and featuring artwork by John Baizley (Baroness, Kylesa, Kvelertak) – will be unleashed in North America on October 29th, in Australia, Germany, Austria and Switzerland on October 25th and in the UK and the rest of Europe on October 28th. New Album Serpents Unleashed Coming In October

In support of their forthcoming new full-length, Serpents Unleashed, Ohio blackened Metal quintet SKELETONWITCH will join The Black Dahlia Murder on a North American trek this Fall. The journey will commence in late October following a short run of dates alongside Ghost B.C. Additional support will be provided by Fallujah as well as Noisem and Wolvhammer on select dates.

HAVOK – Denver Thrashers To Kick Off U.S. Tour With SKELETONWITCH This Week

Denver Thrash warriors HAVOK will kick off a massive U.S. tour this week with headliners SKELETONWITCH. The U.S. Abomination Tour will commence on September 14 in Athens, Ohio and run through nearly two months of shows, coming to a ceremonial close on November 17 in Cleveland, Ohio. Additional support will come from Early Graves and Mutilation Rites.

Comments guitarist Reece Scruggs: “We’re pumped as hell to be going out on the road with Skeletonwitch. The two of us along with Mutilation Rites and Early Graves touring together just seems to fit and make perfect sense. There will be plenty of dates, pretty much covering the entire U.S. So there is no excuse to miss this shred fest! BE THERE OR BE 100% SQUARE.”

HAVOK, called “the finest thrash band in existence,” by PopDose, unleashed their Point Of No Return EP early this Summer via Candlelight Records as a tide-me-over till their next full-length. The EP was recorded by the band with final touches by James Murphy (Death, Testament) and contains two new songs plus two HAVOK-ized Sepultura and Slayer covers.

Band Continues Pillaging Stages Across The U.S.

Today Ohio Metal goliaths SKELETONWITCH are streaming “new” track, “Tragedy of Days” at Prosthetic Records’ official bandcamp page. Never formally released on record in the States, the tune was recorded during the Forever Abomination sessions with producer Matt Hyde and appeared on the Decibel Magazine Flexi-Disc series (Oct. 2011 issue) as well as the Japanese edition of Forever Abomination.

Comments guitarist Scott Hedrick of the track: “’Tragedy of Days’ was an epic instrumental by [guitarist] Nate [Garnette]’s former band Serkesoron. They disbanded after the untimely passing of Serkesoron’s frontman, Thom Wright. Shortly after the band called it quits, SKELETONWITCH was born. We re-recorded the track and Chance [Garnette] added vocals as a tribute to Thom, immortalizing him in song.”

Ohio Metal titans SKELETONWITCH unveil their brand new video for “The Infernal Resurrection.” The song comes off latest album, Forever Abomination which cracked the Billboard Top 200, as well as Decibel’s Top 40 of 2011 and finds the band doing what they do best: slaying ears in the live arena. Like Satan himself set loose in the hallowed halls of Heavy Metal, these Athens-based headbangers careen wildly through the music’s history, gleefully destroying and setting flame to every genre along the way, only stopping at the forefront of today’s Metal scene to look back and watch that fucker burn — and then piss on the flames. No other band has tapped into the fire, fury, and frost of all things Metal like SKELETONWITCH.

Released last October through Prosthetic Records, Forever Abomination continues to raise eyebrows with its relentless, fuck-all attack. In an 8/10 rating of the record, Decibel Magazine named SKELETONWITCH, “one of the most likeable bands in Metal,” Terrorizer dubbed Forever Abomination a “masterclass in Modern Metal,” Revolver noted its “bad-ass Thrash attack,” while Pitchfork championed the offering calling it “exciting, skilled, fist-pumping, true-to-life stuff…”

SKELETONWITCH return to the road today beginning with a warm-up show in Cleveland before joining forces with The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile and labelmates Hour Of Penance for a four-week tour that concludes at the New England Metal And Hardcore Festival. This marks the group’s first North American tour action of 2012. The band will take a brief break before heading overseas for a stretch of Euro dates.

Ohio headbangers SKELETONWITCH — whose latest album, Forever Abomination, cracked the Billboard Top 200, as well as Decibel’s Top 40 of 2011 — will return to the road this week. After a warm-up show in Cleveland on Friday, the band will join forces with The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile and labelmates Hour Of Penance for a four-week tour that concludes at the New England Metal And Hardcore Festival. This marks the group’s first North American touring action of 2012.

In other SKELETONWITCH news, the final color variant of the forthcoming Breathing The Fire vinyl reissue — which, unlike the sold-out initial pressings of the album, comes in a gatefold Stoughton “tip-on” jacket — has arrived at Prosthetic’s warehouse. Check out a picture of the two-color, half-and-half LP, which is limited to 125 copies at THIS LOCATION.

180-gram black and standard-weight “fire splatter” wax are also available. The former will arrive in select retail stores on April 10; the latter and the half-and-half LP can both be pre-ordered at the PROSTHETIC STORE. LP reissues of the band’s 2007 breakthrough, Beyond The Permafrost — which will also be available in three color variants (“Permafrost splatter,” half-and-half and 180-gram black vinyl) — are still in production, but can also be pre-ordered now at the Prosthetic Store.

Over the last five years, SKELETONWITCH has toured alongside a who’s who of heavy metal, from icons like Danzig, Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Halford, to international titans Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy and Dimmu Borgir, to American powerhouses High On Fire, GWAR and Devildriver. Forever Abomination, the group’s third Prosthetic release, was produced by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Children of Bodom).
