Louisiana blackened thrash perpetrators, GOATWHORE, are currently readying for their next round of headlining live assaults. Slated to commence in Houston on September 15th, the band will quash nearly two dozen US cities including recently added dates in Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, New York, Virginia, Georgia and Florida as well as five shows supporting death rock/horror punk icons, Samhain! From there, GOATWHORE will bring their canticles of chaos overseas for a European invasion with Dying Fetus, Malevolence and Fallujah. The lengthy expedition embarks on November 8th in Liege, Belgium and comes to a ceremonial close on December 19th in Hamburg, Germany.

Due to the upcoming birth of his first son, GOATWHORE bassist James Harvey will be sitting out both tours. In the interim, the band has enlisted bassist TA from San Antonio blackened death horde, HOD.

Comments Harvey of his absence, “Unfortunately, I will be staying home for the upcoming tour dates with Samhain as well as the European tour with Dying Fetus. This is due to the upcoming birth of my first son by my longtime girlfriend, Lorrena. He is due between the middle and the end of September and I will be staying home to fulfill my paternal duties. Obviously we have known about this for months and have planned accordingly – our friend TA from the Texas band, HOD, will be filling in on bass duties for the upcoming US tour. I am bummed that I will not be able to go back out on the road for the rest of the year, but I’m sure everyone understands the gravity of welcoming a new life into the world. I wish the best of luck to the guys on the upcoming runs and hope to see everyone soon.”

The infernal masterwork also ranked in at #21 on Billboard’s Rock chart, #7 on the Hard Rock chart, #13 on the Independent chart and, boasting ten mutinous tracks of thick, predatory, subterranean metal, continues to raise the eyebrows of fans and critics globally.

REVOCATION “Teratogenesis” – A Scion A/V Presents EP From 2012 You MUST Know About!

Revocation - Teratogenesis - EP - cover promo!

5 Metal Fists Out Of 5!

REVOCATION – I remember posting the press release, regarding this tidy 5 song EP, Teratogenesis, from Boston’s REVOCATION. Back on September 25th, 2012, this Metal gem was released for free, via Scion A/V Presents. Scion A/V routinely offers free downloads of Metal EP’s; therefore I declare Scion A/V kicks 100% Metal ass. This great company supports Metal. ‘Nuff said about that.

Of the 5 songs on this EP, my 2 favorite songs on Teratogenesis are Maniacally Unleashed and Bound By Desire. Plus, there are a TON of Metal grooves to be heard and enjoyed from the title track. Whoa! Please note that ALL 5 songs on this EP are some of the best Metal work that REVOCATION has ever done! I’m not shitting about that. If you’re not familiar with REVOCATION, their brand of Metal is Thrash, in the Death Thrash vein and they play it extremely well; just like Arizona’s rabid Hemoptysis.

The overall Metal wall-of-sound is so damn blistering fine from this EP! This is guitar driven Death Thrash that is, for me, eye-popping! If you’re looking for Metal intensity, that’ll leave you feeling as though you’ve smoked and inhaled potent Metal bliss, then Teratogenesis from REVOCATION is it. Metal be thy name. – Stone

2014 has seen UK Death/Thrash outfit Flayed Disciple back in the studio recording a new EP and follow-up to the 2012 debut album ‘Death Hammer’. Chuck Creese, who produced the ‘Ejaculate While Killing’ EP in 2010, was back at the helm recording the new record.

Guitarist Jon Whitfield comments: “The new EP will remain untitled and released on a stunning 12″ vinyl as well as digitally. This release is to showcase the bands new sound and energy, and our new drummer Rich Lewis who joined us in 2013.”

‘Flayed Disciple’ EP will be released May 24th via Bethlam Records.

Flayed Disciple - - promo cover pic - 2014

The EP contains three new tracks; ‘Sick Abomination’, ‘The Gates Of Bedlam’ and ‘The Maniac’ and with over 20 minutes of music, Flayed Disciple are set to deliver more of the epic thrash style that they began to carve for themselves on ‘Death Hammer’. A music video for ‘The Gates of Bedlam’ will also be released coinciding with the vinyl release.

Since the release of Flayed Disciple’s 2012 debut album ‘Death Hammer’, things have moved forward greatly and at great speed. With massive acclaim from the Metal media, Flayed Disciple gained coverage in mainstream magazines such as Metal Hammer & Terrorizer. The band released two music videos, ‘The Shrine Of Dahmer’ and ‘The Westboro Massacre’; the latter, which went on to reach over 90,000 views on YouTube.

Watch ‘The Westboro Massacre’ Here:

The band have toured up and down their native UK as well as Europe and beyond with heavyweights such as Vader, Aborted, Blood Red Throne, etc. The band have played numerous festivals including the UK’s Bloodstock Festival, Hammerfest and they made an appearance at the Indian Metal Fest in Bangalore alongside Gojira.

Flayed Disciple are now seasoned live players, and have a UK tour from May 18th to 24th as main support to Earache Records’ Thrash maniacs Bonded By Blood. The band also has a 13-day European tour from October 6th to 18th in support of another Earache Records’ band Cerebral Bore.

SEPREVATION – Announces New Album ‘Consumed’ And Reveals Details

Posted in Death Metal, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, news, rock music, rock music news, Thrash Metal, world news with tags , , , , , , , , on March 30, 2014 by Metal Odyssey

Seprevation - promo band pic - 2014 - #440386

UK death thrashers Seprevation today announces the release of their debut full-length album ‘Consumed’ which is to be independently released 10th May 2014.

“Truly evil sounding death metal from Bristol, true to the 80′s and 90′s masters. For fans of Death, Possessed, Sadistic Intent etc.” – Terrorizer Magazine

That aforementioned is just one of many descriptions made of the Death/Thrash maniacs. Formed in 2011 in Bristol, England; since their inception Seprevation have been roaming throughout the UK laying siege with a battery of hate filled lyrics and a sound to kick your pearly whites to dust, Seprevation are here for a reason and one reason only… to shatter and destroy.

2012 saw the band supporting underground heavyweights Gorguts, Wormrot, Onslaught, Cannabis Corpse and many more which eventually earned the band a place at Bloodstock Festival. 2012 also marked the release of the Seprevation debut record, an EP entitled ‘Ritual Abuse’.

In 2013 the band picked up the pace signing a deal with Chaotic Tapestry Management before hitting the road with Californian Gods of gore Exhumed. That same year Seprevation jetted out to 16th Cellar Studios in Rome, Italy with acclaimed producer Stefano Morabito (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance, Eyeconoclast, Acrania, Bloodshot Dawn) to lay down tracks for the debut full-length album.

Seprevation - promo live band pic - 2014 - #03901

A near year has dawned. Bigger, stronger and more devastating than ever, Seprevation are set to unleash hell armed with their brand new album ‘Consumed’.

Guitarist Joss Farrington comments on ‘Consumed’, “I think fans of ‘Ritual Abuse’ will really like it, its more of the same in many ways, plenty of shred and old school worship but it’s definitely steering in our own direction, as the writing process went on the songs became more and more diverse, songs like ‘Between Two Worlds and Dreams’ were written last and you can really hear the difference.”

“If you thought ‘Ritual Abuse’ was pretty great then buy this because it’s 100 times better, 3 words – Old School Worship.”

Raul Gonzalez is the man behind the ‘Consumed’ artwork. “He did the ‘Ritual Abuse’ art too”, comments Joss. “I suppose if there was to be a concept or theme, it would be about death, and all the bullshit that follows with it, depression, loss, escape etc., the idea of being consumed by something you cannot control.”

Seprevation - Consumed - promo cover pic - 2014

Consumed – Track List:

1. Divine Devastation

2. Servants of Suffering

3. Ascension of Agony

4. Sarcophagal Chamber

5. Dreams

6. Slave To The Grave

7. In Torment They Burn

8. Sea Of Thoughts

9. Postmortem Lividity

10. Between Two Worlds

‘Consumed’ is out May 10th 2014.

Winnipeg Death Thrash outfit, Endless Chaos, have unleashed the third and final track ‘Condemned To The Pit’ from their three song debut EP ‘Rejected Atrocity’ to complete the full FREE download for its official release today, March 4th.

“‘Condemned To The Pit’, the final track on the EP, really captures where we are going as a band.  It is a real heavy and intricate two-part banger with lyrical content about being put to death and being sent to hell.  We hope while the listener is listening he/she is overcome with an overwhelming sense to get in that pit and bring a little chaos of their own.” – Comments vocalist Jordan Dorge.

In addition to the EP being available digitally, limited edition vinyl (200 copies) will be released on Filth Regime Records at a later date in March.

The EP was inspired by one of the finest horror movies of all time, Re-Animator, and after sharing the stage with well-known bands such as Skeletonwitch3 Inches of BloodWretchedAborted and Kataklysm, the band’s direction was clear to set out to carefully craft their debut EP, ‘Rejected Atrocity’.

IMMORTAL BIRD – Chicago Blackened Death Thrash Troupe Announce Debut EP “Akrasia”

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news, Thrash Metal with tags , , , , , , on November 9, 2013 by Metal Odyssey

Immortal Bird - Akrasia - promo cover pic - 2013
Chicago Blackened Death Thrash troupe, IMMORTAL BIRD, are pleased to announce the release of their debut EP. Titled Akrasia, the abrasive manifestation of audio filth was recorded at Lo-Tech Laboratories this past summer by unsung Windy City sound sorcerer Jeff Ziolo, mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Isis, High On Fire, Skeletonwitch) at Godcity Studio, mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, From Ashes Rise, Nails, All Pigs Must Die) at Audiosiege and delivers four scathingly visceral tracks of torment. Led by the diseased vocal oscillations of drummer/front woman Rae Amitay, IMMORTAL BIRD is at once celestial and deadly.

Comments Amitay of the offering:“‘Akrasia’ is the state of acting against one’s better judgment, or weakness of will. The EP is centered around this concept, and the tracks serve to explore feelings of rage, resentment, and anguish that have resulted from ‘akratic’ behavior — mostly my own. The riffs, lyrics, and overall tone are meant to reflect both intensely caustic anger and moments of poignant self-realization. Writing and recording this EP was initially intended to be a cathartic and one-time experience, signifying the beginning and the end of IMMORTAL BIRD, but after collaborating with my bandmates and performing live, I’ve realized that this is a project that will press onward both in the studio and on the road. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to work with Kurt Ballou and Brad Boatright, as they’re complete commanders of their craft. This music could not have been placed in better hands, and that is an amazing feeling.”

Akrasia – Track Listing:

1. Spitting Teeth
2. Ashen Scabland
3. Akratic Seminar
4. The Pseudoscientist

IMMORTAL BIRD took its perverted form when drummer Rae Amitay (Thrawsunblat) yearned to step out from behind the confines of her drum kit, write some riffs and scream. With those dreams in tow, she enlisted the help of longtime friend/guitarist Evan Berry (Wilderun, Replacire) and bassist John Picillo. With Amitay opting to handle the mic onstage (while tackling drums and vocals on their albums), Garry Naples (Novembers Doom, Kastasyde, Without Waves) was recruited to take on all live drumming duties.

Akrasia is set for release via Closed Casket Recordings on December 3rd. Teaser tracks and live rituals to be announced in the days to come. Stay tuned.

HAVOK – Denver Thrashers To Kick Off U.S. Tour With SKELETONWITCH This Week

Denver Thrash warriors HAVOK will kick off a massive U.S. tour this week with headliners SKELETONWITCH. The U.S. Abomination Tour will commence on September 14 in Athens, Ohio and run through nearly two months of shows, coming to a ceremonial close on November 17 in Cleveland, Ohio. Additional support will come from Early Graves and Mutilation Rites.

Comments guitarist Reece Scruggs: “We’re pumped as hell to be going out on the road with Skeletonwitch. The two of us along with Mutilation Rites and Early Graves touring together just seems to fit and make perfect sense. There will be plenty of dates, pretty much covering the entire U.S. So there is no excuse to miss this shred fest! BE THERE OR BE 100% SQUARE.”

HAVOK, called “the finest thrash band in existence,” by PopDose, unleashed their Point Of No Return EP early this Summer via Candlelight Records as a tide-me-over till their next full-length. The EP was recorded by the band with final touches by James Murphy (Death, Testament) and contains two new songs plus two HAVOK-ized Sepultura and Slayer covers.

Metal Underground gave the release a 4/5 rating, noting “the two original tracks on this EP are up there with the best material the band has produced, and the covers are heartfelt and well-performed,”adding that “thrash fans will delight in this offering.” Commended “HAVOK adequately display their penchant for crisp, musically precise thrash metal that proceeds at a fast gallop to a near blast,” while Exclaim added: “The two new songs that open this EP prove that these guys are way top-tier for modern thrash… “

Ghostmaker, the third full-length from Philly’s adrenalized Death/Thrash quartet RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER, is out today in North America via Candlelight Records. With more than forty-five minutes of nonstop soul-crushing thunder, Ghostmaker shows the outfit at their most antagonistic yet, while also showcasing the most talented musical prowess from RSG to date.

The mob at MetalSucks, who are obviously big fans of  the hard-partying RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER ethos, are streaming all twelve neck-wrecking tracks from Ghostmaker for a limited time. Get blasted RIGHT HERE.

Now in their tenth year as a unit, RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER currently contains members of Absu, Woe, Azure Emote, Ashencult, Fucked Forever, Total Fucking Destruction, Smoker & the Rollers and more. Ghostmaker was produced by the members of the band and bears cover art by gore artist Mike Hrubovcak (Sinister, Grave, Hate Eternal, Cattle Decapitation, etc.) as with several of the band’s previous releases.

Hometown Record Release Show Confirmed

Philadelphia’s Thrashbastards RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER are preparing to unload Ghostmaker, their belligerent third album, and first for Candlelight Records, onto North American ‘bangers on June 19th.

Formed by current members of Absu, Woe, Azure Emote, Ashencult, Fucked Forever, Total Fucking Destruction, Smoker & the Rollers and more, RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER‘s hard-partying Death-Thrash surges with more intensity than ever on Ghostmaker, resulting in a maniacal forty-five minute whirlwind that will surely require neck braces for unseasoned and weak metallers. The album was produced by the band and bears cover art by gore artist Mike Hrubovcak (Sinister, Grave, Hate Eternal, Cattle Decapitation, etc.) as with several of the band’s previous releases.

Today the title track to Ghostmaker has been set loose upon the masses via RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER‘s diehard neighbors at Stereokiller RIGHT HERE.

Just days before the album is officially in stores across the continent, RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER have confirmed a hometown release show for Ghostmaker at Philly’s M Room on June 15th alongside an arsenal of additional riotous acts.

RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER Ghostmaker Record Release Show:

6/15/2012 M Room – Philadelphia, PA w/ Scaphism, Eat The Turnbuckle, Psychosomatic, Sacrificial Blood, Primitive Ways
