DYING FETUS – Announce European Summer Headline Tour 2013

Death Metal powerhouse DYING FETUS have confirmed that they will be heading back to Europe this summer on a headlining tour. The tour begins July 24th in Slovenia and runs through August 18th in France. The tour includes appearances at numerous festivals including Brutal Assault, Party San, Bloodstock, Summer Breeze and many more. A complete list of dates can be found below.

Last week the band confirmed a string of Canadian tour dates for later this summer. This run also includes select dates in the US. A full North American headline tour will be announced shortly. The tour is set to kick off August 23rd in Clifton Park, NY and will run through September 3rd in Providence, RI.

KATAKLYSM – ALBUM TITLE ANNOUNCED!

Montreal based Death Metal powerhouse, KATAKLYSM, have been quietly working on new material for the past several months for their long-awaited follow-up to the highly successful Heaven’s Venom album.

“Well it’s been a seriously busy ride since our last album Heaven’s Venom was released over 3 years ago,” commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono. “From a successful world headlining run, to Ozzfest, into a recap of our 20 years as band with the Iron Will DVD. We’ve been writing in a very humble fashion behind the scenes for the last six months. It’s time to take KATAKLYSM to higher levels and dig deep into our capacities as musicians and songwriters. We know exactly what we have to do, that’s why we have taken our time and why we’ll be taking most of the Summer to complete the new album. The record will deal lyrically with mortality and the purpose of ones being on this earth. The moment we are born we start to die. Waiting for the End to Come is tentatively scheduled for a late 2013 / early 2014 release. The album will be recorded by guitarist Jean Francois Dagenais and mixed by Zeuss (SUFFOCATION, HATEBREED, ARSIS)

As previously reported, KATAKLYSM guitarist and longtime producer Jean-François Dagenais (MALEVOLENT CREATION, MISERY INDEX, DESPISED ICON, EX DEO) will once again helm the new record. The band is scheduled to enter JFD studio in Montreal and Dallas in June/July.

New REVEL IN FLESH Tune Streaming At Death Metal Underground

The good folks at DeathMetal.Org have taken a sledgehammer to the face of false metal by streaming a brand new track from the forthcoming album from REVEL IN FLESH. The song, entitled Dominate the Rotten,comes off the band’s forthcoming sophomore release, Manifested Darkness and is currently cracking skulls at http://deathmetal.org/.

Harnessing the momentum created by the album that Teeth of the Divine’s Erik Thomas called “the best of a recent impressive run of the style,” Manifested Darkness ups the ante and goes for the jugular. The album is sure to be considered one of 2013’s best classic Death Metal releases.

The CD and digital download will be unleashed on April 12th by FDA Rekotz and contains nine hammering new hymns of destruction plus one special bonus track exclusive to the CD version. The LP version will be out on April 26th and will include an additional bonus track. The artwork for Manifested Darkness was created by the Spanish artist Juanjo Castellano. The album was mixed and mastered at Unisound Studio by Dan Swanö.

Metal albums that I can’t live without are just like Metal Buddies; they’re always there to lean on and hang out with! Here is a list of ten Metal albums I can’t live without.

This list is a part one, cause in reality, there are probably a few hundred more Metal albums that I couldn’t live without! By no means is this my top ten Metal albums of all time; in essence, what this list represents is a grand starting point for me! Therefore, a part two, three, four and more to this topic will most likely happen! Hallelujah and ring that Metal bell!

This list of Metal albums are in no particular order, other than I can’t live without them. I hope you enjoy this list and feel free to add your Metal albums you can’t live without via a comment. Metal be thy name!

INCANTATION – Reveal Artwork And Track Listing For: Vanquish in Vengeance

US Death Metal pioneers INCANTATION have revealed the cover art and track listing for their anticipated new album, Vanquish in Vengeance.

The long-awaited followup to 2006’s Primordial Domination, Vanquish in Vengeance carries a recurring lyrical theme that addresses the countless acts of genocide in the name of religion throughout our history.

Guitarist/vocalist John McEntee comments:

“The title track is about the massacre of Saxons in the town of Verdun in 782, called on by order of King Charlemagne. As an album title it has a different meaning to me. Vanquish in Vengeance symbolizes the long history of the band. We have fought many battles over the years to keep things going. We have always stayed true to our original vision and have never caved into trends. After a long wait between albums we are back with a vengeance with some of our darkest and heaviest material to date.”

Vanquish in Vengeance was recorded at Mars Studio with Bill Korecky and mixed by Dan Swano at Unisound Studios.

INCANTATION – Comments On Recent Tour; Reveals New Album Title

After a successful trek through Brazil with IMMOLATION and European summer festival campaign, Death Metal pioneers INCANTATION are back in the U.S. to wrap up work on their long-awaited eighth album. The band had this to say about the tour:

Guitarist/vocalist John McEntee: “I would like to thank everyone on behalf of INCANTATION for making this festival run our most successful to date. To get the opportunity to play for so many diehard death metal fans was absolutely amazing. We are especially thankful to all our supporters for giving us a warm welcome at all the festivals, you guys were amazing and totally raging every day. Most of all we would like to thank Sam Inzerra [Mortician / Funerus] for doing a phenomenal job filling in for Kyle on drums. Without you this run would probably not be able to happen.”

Bassist Chuck Sherwood: “To the hoards of thousands that littered the fests of this past run. Old friends and new, brothers whom we shared a stage, and the unmatched support of the staff of each fest respectively. It’s my hope that our performance reflected the metal rage that you gave us, Hails!”

MASACHIST – Reveal Initial Details On Forthcoming Album; New Track Posted

Polish Death Metal squad MASACHIST have just completed work on their second full-length, Scorned. The anticipated follow-up to the band’s 2009-released Death March Fury was recorded in mid-2011 at Monroe Sound Studio, with final production touches taken care by guitarist Aro. Featuring nine brutal and intricate songs, Scorned will be released worldwide by Selfmadegod Records on September 3rd, 2012.

MASACHIST‘s leader Thrufel comments on the album: “I’m really glad that after a long silence I can finally give you some details regarding our much-anticipated new album. Scorned is 40 minutes of your agony, another relentless death march. You could say that the new album is a natural evolution of our style. Death Metal tyrants SIX FEET UNDER are currently midway through their long-anticipated 18 Nights Of Blood Tour. The trek kicked off in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this month and has systematically leveled nine cities. This is the band’s first live outing featuring newly recruited rhythm guitarist Ola Englund who takes the place of Rob Arnold as well as bassist Jeff Hughell [ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile].Support is being provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation.

SIX FEET UNDER are touring in support of Undead, unleashed to North American ears via Metal Blade on May 22. Their latest installment of audio violence toppled Billboard charts upon its first week of release and continues crushing souls. In related news, SIX FEET UNDER were recently added to the monolithic Barge To Hell lineup where 40 of Metal’s most extreme acts along with 2,000 headbangers from around the world take over a luxury cruise ship for a five-day/four-night trip to the Caribbean. The Barge sets sail on December 3 from Miami, Florida. Others bands scheduled to appear include Behemoth, Corrosion Of Conformity, Enslaved, Rotting Christ, At The Gates, Possessed and more!

Kick your weekend off in ghoulish style with a stream of “I Am The Reaper,” taken from ZOMBIEFICATION’s latest platter of Death Metal delectables, Reaper’s Consecration. Slated for a North American takeover via Pulverised Records on August 14, the EP was mixed and mastered at Necromorbus Studios (Watain, Interment, Demonical, etc.) in Sweden and features artwork/layout direction by ZOMBIEFICATION throat Mr. Hitch.

Having risen from the grave in 2009 following the release of their debut, Midnight Stench, ZOMBIEFICATION wasted no time in concocting a venomous brew that makes up Reaper’s Consecration.

Underground blog critics in-the-now have already hailed the EP’s putrid, old-school DM soul. Skull Fracturing Metal calls Reaper’s Consecration, “a great five-track representation of some of the finest Swedeath worshiping in the Americas (which also goes to show that Pulverised Records has some awesome taste),” Metal Odyssey describes it as a “crushing blow of intense Death Metal… showcasing five deathly songs of cataclysmic quality,” Valkyrian Music adds: “ZOMBIEFICATION play death metal as it should be played: loud, aggressive, groove laden and thoroughly kick ass!,” while Metal Maniacs notes vehemently: “ZOMBIEFICATION totally KILL on this fucking EP!”

Undead, the latest installment of audio brutality from Death Metal deviants SIX FEET UNDER, entered the Billboard Heatseekers Chart at #5 upon its first week of release! In addition, Undead landed at at #30 on the Billboard Top Independent Album Chart, #22 on the Billboard Top Hard Music Albums Chart, #14 Billboard Top Current Albums Chart and #183 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.

In Canada, the record ranked in at #34 on the Hard Music Chart, #199 on the Top 200 Current Albums Chart, #167 on the iTunes Top 200 Chart, #35 on the iTunes Rock Chart and #3 on the iTunes Metal Chart.
