About MYSTIC CIRCLE: MYSTIC CIRCLE‘s first ritual began in the early 90s. Following a period of hiatus, 2022 saw the return of the band anew with the self-titled Mystic Circle album that was rewarded with a sensational #78 place in the German album charts. This was continued the following year with Erzdämon and now completed with Hexenbrand 1486 released via ROAR – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music, in 2025.
MYSTIC CIRCLE sound unmistakable, their trademarks are manifold and their hunger seems almost insatiable. What the duo has created in recent years is unparalleled and continues the legacy that the band created in the nineties with their classics Drachenblut (1998) and Infernal Satanic Verses (1999). MYSTIC CIRCLE themselves describe their style as extreme metal, their very own mix of old-school death and black metal, traditional heavy metal of the eighties and horror soundtracks.
With their latest full length, Hexenbrand 1486,MYSTIC CIRCLE also achieved a notable milestone as the album contains the band’s 100th song. Across 2026 the band are turning their focus to the live stage, preparing to unleash the shadows upon audiences across Latin America.
MYSTIC CIRCLE Is: Beelzebub – Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards A. Blackwar – Vocals, Drums, Guitars, Keyboards
“Mutilated Corpse In The Woods” is the newest single from American death metal legends SIX FEET UNDER. The track appears on their forthcoming new full-length, Next To Die, set for release on April 24th via Metal Blade Records.
Comments guitarist Jack Owen, “This song started when my wife and I were in an antique store and she found an amber quartz pendant that had lines through the whole thing. I asked her what it was and she said it’s a Rutilated Quartz. Well, that’s all I needed for a title and some lyrical ideas. The chorus came easy. The verses were from a true crime show where a woman described being attacked by an assailant who tied her to a tree and slit her throat. She couldn’t speak or scream. In real life she survived the attack, telling her story with a giant scar across her throat. In this song, unfortunately she did not survive… My killer buried her where she will never be found. I wrote the music from scratch around the lyrical ideas.”

Next To Die marks a new creative high for SIX FEET UNDER, its dozen songs marking the band’s fifteenth album since 1995’s Haunted. The record is essentially broken down into two different sides – Death and Groove – resulting in an aural masterwork that satisfies SIX FEET UNDER as artists, while also offering something for every fan.
To bring the songs to brutal life, vocalist Chris Barnes recorded his vocals at the legendary Criteria Recording Studios in Miami. “I’ve recorded 90% of my vocals for SIX FEET UNDER there with my longtime friend and engineer Chris Carroll,” says Barnes. “Criteria has a long and rich history of recording some of the most famous and important albums in the history of music. I feel very comfortable working there.”
Produced by Owens and Barnes and mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis of MRL Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, Next To Die follows 2024’s Killing For Revenge and is the third record that Barnes and Owen have created together since reuniting in 2017.
Barnes titled the record after the song “Next to Die,” as it “best represents what is contained within the ideas/storylines of the lyrics of each song. We don’t discuss lyrical themes, we each write what we’re feeling and find interesting.” The frontman urges close listening, saying, “that’s the great thing about music and art and reading. It takes you on an exploration into your own imagination, and that personal experience lets you discover what you think the meaning is. Having someone tell you what it means takes away that magic.”
SIX FEET UNDER was initially formed as a side project for Barnes during his final years with the band that he co-founded, Cannibal Corpse. It became the frontman’s sole focus in 1995, coinciding with the release of their debut, Haunted. The current lineup of Barnes, Owen, lead guitarist Ray Suhy, bassist Jeff Hughell, and drummer Marco Pitruzzella make for a devastating unit.
Next To Die features the cover art of Sandy Rezalmi and will be released on CD and digital formats as well as vinyl in the following color variants:
180g Black (US) Red w/ Black Smoke (US) Bone Brown Marbled (EU – Ltd. 500) Blue Grey Marbled (EU – Ltd. 300) Blood Splatter (EU – Ltd. 300) Bone White Green Splatter (EU – Ltd. 200)

American death metal pioneers SIX FEET UNDER will unleash their Next To Die full-length on April 24th through Metal Blade Records.
Next To Die marks a new creative high for SIX FEET UNDER, its dozen songs marking the band’s fifteenth album since 1995’s Haunted. “It started out as an album full of death metal songs with speed and aggression,” says guitarist Jack Owen. “Then [vocalist] Chris [Barnes] had the brilliant idea to keep half of those death metal songs and add some groovier songs in the vein of the early SIX FEET UNDER material. Chris emphasized tempo, so keeping with the beats per minute for early SFU classics, I wrote a side of tasty groove-laden music with Chris doing all the lyrics.”
The creative collaborative approach sees Next To Die essentially broken down into two different sides – Death and Groove – resulting in an aural masterwork that satisfies SIX FEET UNDER as artists, while also offering something for every fan.
The record was produced by Owen and Barnes and mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis of MRL Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, and follows 2024’s Killing For Revenge. It’s the third record that Barnes and Owen have created together since reuniting in 2017. “We don’t discuss lyrical themes, we each write what we’re feeling,” explains Barnes. “We each just write what we find interesting.”

That sonic devastation shines on lead single, “Unmistakable Smell Of Death,” which sees Owen owning his blast and fast riffs with dynamic pull-offs and stop sections. “This song began musically before I had any lyrical ideas in mind,” says Owen. “I dug through my riff archive for some blast and fast riffs and updated them with some pull-offs and stop sections. The middle section riffs were also from my riff archive. I do scratch leads on my demos, but Ray always does a much better job with the leads.”
“Lyrically, I’m writing from the perspective of a killer who toys with a victim and unties them, allowing them to fight. He underestimates their ability to fight, and they get the better of the killer, ultimately impaling and beheading him. The ‘Unmistakable Smell Of Death’ is now that of the killer!”
Next To Die comes swathed in the cover art of Sandy Rezalmi and will be released on CD and digital formats as well as vinyl in the following color variants:
180g Black (US) Red w/ Black Smoke (US) Bone Brown Marbled (EU – Ltd. 500) Blue Grey Marbled (EU – Ltd. 300) Blood Splatter (EU – Ltd. 300) Bone White Green Splatter (EU – Ltd. 200)
SIX FEET UNDER will return to stages this Summer on a North American headlining tour. Set to begin on July 8th in Detroit and run through August 11th in Chicago, the tour features support from Kataklysm and Wormhole.
Comments Barnes, “July and August are gonna get ultra brutal on our headlining tour of North America in support of our new album Next To Die, with our old friends in Kataklysm, and special guests Wormhole. Very psyched to get back on the road in the States, and really, really looking forward to playing Canada on this tour. I think it’s our first time in Canada in decades… You do not want to miss these shows! See you all this Summer!”
The North American journey will follow the band’s previously announced European headlining tour this June, with support from Embryonic Autopsy.

SIX FEET UNDER continues to tour in support of their fourteenth studio album, Killing For Revenge, released last year via Metal Blade Records!
A gnarly beast of a record that’s not for the faint-hearted, Killing For Revenge dishes up nightmare-inducing imagery courtesy of Barnes via the vocalist’s trademark guttural vocals. Both the album title and darkly detailed red-hued album cover by artist Vince Locke are perfect containers for the brutality within.
Forged as a side project for Barnes during his final years with the band that he co-founded, Cannibal Corpse, SIX FEET UNDER became the frontman’s sole focus in 1995, coinciding with the release of their debut, Haunted. Only Barnes remains from SIX FEET UNDER’s original incarnation, but the quality has remained remarkably consistent. The current lineup of Barnes, guitarists Jack Owen (ex-Cannibal Corpse) and Ray Suhy, bassist Jeff Hughell, and drummer Marco Pitruzzella makes for a devastating unit.

SIX FEET UNDER will unleash their pulverizing fourteenth studio album, Killing For Revenge, on May 10th through Metal Blade Records.
From the opening moments of first single, “Know-Nothing Ingrate,” which kicks off the record, it’s immediately clear that SIX FEET UNDER focused their energies into something that’s as brutal, lyrically visceral, and musically dazzling as one would hope for from the ground-breaking Tampa-bred death metal. Killing For Revenge, a gnarly beast of a record that’s not for the faint-hearted, dishes up nightmare-inducing imagery courtesy of frontman Chris Barnes via the vocalist’s trademark guttural vocals. Both the album title and darkly detailed red-hued album cover by artist Vince Locke are perfect containers for the brutality within.
“I chose the title Killing For Revenge after we completed writing and noticed that all the lyrics and storylines had a common theme of revenge. Revenge by human or revenge by nature,” Barnes says. “The album title describes the flow of the stories within the lyrics perfectly.”
Watch a lyric video for SIX FEET UNDER’s “Know-Nothing Ingrate” at THIS LOCATION.
Killing For Revenge marks the second album that Barnes and guitarist Jack Owen (ex-Cannibal Corpse) have created together since reuniting for 2020’s Nightmares Of The Decomposed. Owen also produced Killing For Revenge. “We worked well together in Cannibal Corpse,” recalls Barnes. “I loved him to death as a friend and a musician, so I’m really comfortable giving him the reins because I just have such great respect for him as an artist.”
The songs on Killing For Revenge dive headfirst into subjects that are as gleefully vile, graphic, and downright grotesque as you might dream of from a Barnes/Owen project. After all, the two men were vital cogs in the Cannibal Corpse band that released such delightfully offensive death metal classics as Butchered At Birth and Tomb Of The Mutilated. SIX FEET UNDER also recorded a cover of Nazareth’s “Hair Of The Dog,” which appears on all formats of Killing For Revenge with the exception of vinyl.
As a first preview of the record, today the band unveils “Know-Nothing Ingrate.” Notes Owen, “This music was written early in the writing process. Wanting to keep the aggression of a prior SIX FEET UNDER song like ‘Amputator,’ I wrote music in the style of early Dark Angel or Kreator, who always had cool driving drumbeats. I had all the riffs in my head as I wrote the drums in a couple hours. Lyrically, I kicked around a phrase that fit the stop parts throughout the song. After coming up with ‘Know-Nothing Ingrate,’ the lyrics wrote themselves. It’s basically about online trolls who voice their uneducated and unnecessarily spiteful review of any artist’s output. You’re entitled to your opinion, and I’m entitled to mine.”
SIX FEET UNDER was initially formed as a side project for Barnes during his final years with the band that he co-founded, Cannibal Corpse. It became the frontman’s sole focus in 1995, coinciding with the release of their debut, Haunted. Only Barnes remains from SIX FEET UNDER’s original incarnation, but the quality has remained remarkably consistent. The current lineup of Barnes, guitarists Owen and Ray Suhy, bassist Jeff Hughell, and drummer Marco Pitruzzella make for a devastating unit.
Killing For Revenge, which features a guest appearance by guitarist Jason Suecof on “Neanderthal,” was mixed and mastered by Chaz Najjar at Badlands Recording in Denver, Colorado. The record will be released on CD and digital formats as well as vinyl in the following color variants:

Crypt Of The Devil, the latest platter of brutality from iconic death metal merchants, SIX FEET UNDER, crushed the Billboard Charts this week debuting at #13 on the Hard Music Chart, #13 on the Heatseekers Chart, #32 on the Independent Albums Chart, #49 on the Rock Albums Chart, #120 on the Physical Albums Chart and #161 on the Top 200 Current Albums Chart!
In Canada, Crypt Of The Devil placed at #33 on the Hard Music Chart and #198 on the Top Sellers Chart. On the Official Top 100 Charts in Europe, the record earned the #42 spot in Germany marking it SIX FEET UNDER‘s highest charting record pillaging Bringer Of Blood‘s German entry at #36 and True Carnage‘s entry at #40. Additionally, Crypt Of The Devil nabbed the #20 spot on the Media Markt/Saturn Charts.
Composed by notorious growl tsar, Chris Barnes with Cannabis Corpse bassist/vocalist Phil “Landphil” Hall, Crypt Of The Devil serves as SIX FEET UNDER‘s eleventh studio offering and delivers ten venomous odes of murderous death metal barbarity ornamented in Barnes’ haunting prose. Surveying the blackest depths of the human mind, the record is disquieting in both sound, mind and spirit.
Sample the album in all its menacing glory, courtesy of High Times, at THIS LOCATION as well as the band’s Mitch Massie (Cattle Decapitation, Murder Construct, The Locust etc.) directed “Open Coffin Orgy” video HERE.
SIX FEET UNDER began as a side project while Barnes – owner of what would become one of the most dominating, groundbreaking and instantly distinguishable voices of the death metal genre – was fronting Cannibal Corpse. SIX FEET UNDER would eventually become a full-fledged entity in 1995 and now stands among the longest standing and successful acts in death metal history, with all but their debut appearing on a Billboard chart.
Crypt Of The Devil is out now on Metal Blade Records. Various order bundles are available today at metalblade.com/sixfeetunder.

SIX FEET UNDER will release their eleventh studio recording this Spring via Metal Blade Records. Titled Crypt Of The Devil, the ten track slab of audio violence was composed by vocalist Chris Barnes and Cannabis Corpse bassist/vocalist Phil “Landphil” Hall. While on tour with Cannabis Corpse in 2013, Barnes and Hall met and kept in touch. Barnes would later lend his vocals to a track on Cannabis Corpse’s From Wisdom To Baked. That same year, Hall and Barnes joined forces to pen brand new SIX FEET UNDER tracks.
Barnes lauds Hall’s take on the SIX FEET UNDER style of Death Metal and stated that this material was, “where my wheelhouse is – it’s where I thrive vocally and lyrically.” Crypt Of The Devil stands as a truly collaborative and cross-country effort from a selection of today’s finest metal minds, and the result is a refreshing SIX FEET UNDER experience.
Crypt Of The Devil will see release in North America via Metal Blade Records on May 5th, 2015. For a taste of the first single, “Open Coffin Orgy,” as well as a selection of preorder bundles, go to:metalblade.com/sixfeetunder.
With Crypt Of The Devil, Barnes has worked to continue the overall story from the previous works, wherein he is penning lyrics from the perspective of a serial killer. Or as Barnes describes, it’s a “winding journey through his mind. The songs paint a picture that’s not necessarily linear, rather a meandering back and forth through a dark soul.” Soon-to-be-classic cuts such as “Open Coffin Orgy” serve as exemplary examples of the fruits of Barnes’ macabre muse.
Long running New York Death Metal henchmen, PYREXIA, will embark upon a short stretch of roadside beatdowns next month supporting DM icons SixFeet Under. With the addition of Doug Bohn (Suffocation – Pierced From Within) on drums alongside second drum beast Dave “War Machine” Culross (Suffocation, Malevolent Creation) and their signature assault of maniacal riff shifts, subterranean growls and hammering grooves, Feast of Iniquity is a venomous expulsion of true DM supremacy and arguably their most pungent creation since Sermon of Mockery!
Feast of Iniquitywill drop via Unique Leader Records on October 29, 2013.
SIX FEET UNDER are currently preparing for their next round of tour dates in support ofUnborn. As previously announced, Decrepit Birth and Cannabis Corpse will be joining them on this tour. Additionally, up-and-coming act Dealey Plaza will open the show. The tour begins July 10th in Houston and VIP bundles are currently available via http://shop.soundcheckhollywood.com/collections/Hell-In-July-Tour . Bundles include a ticket to the show, SIX FEET UNDER shirt, a limited “Hell In July” poster, and a back stage pre-show hang with founding vocalist, Chris Barnes.
Comments Barnes: “Hello, all you sick fucks! Summer tours in the U.S. are always a blast, and this one is set up for sheer devastation with opening bands Decrepit Birth, Cannabis Corpse and Dealey Plaza! I would just like to take this time to say and send a personal message to those in Denver as well as Seattle: You may want to stock up and/or possibly grow twice as much cannabis as you have been, because once SFU and Cannabis Corpse roll into those towns, the sheer magnitude of smoking may – 1. Drain the cannabis supply of those two said cities or 2. Possibly cause low cloud formations. Fog lights should be used on all vehicles to and from the concert.
“On a side note, I’m super excited to have the opening band Dealey Plaza join us. They are a really killer new band and put on a ferocious live show. Drumming for Dealey Plaza is my nephew, Ryley Dipaola. He beats the shit out of the drums, and it makes me really proud to have my nephew on the road with me! I’m more proud than I can say about that, so I hope everyone will come out to the shows and support all these great musicians and great bands that are on tour with us this summer for Hell In July! And we will see everyone else real soon! Lots more tour dates to be announced in the coming months, so stay sick and twisted!”
Mixed and mastered by Zeuss at Planet Z, SIX FEET UNDER’s latest album, Unborn, was released on March 19th via Metal Blade Records, and features tracks written in collaboration with Ben Savage (Whitechapel) and Jari Laine (Torture Killer).

As reported on the official facebook of SIX FEET UNDER:
“The journey to create, write, and record UNDEAD and UNBORN has been the most challenging and exciting musical endeavor and process I have ever been involved with,” expresses vocalist and founder Chris Barnes. “Working with all these amazing writers and musicians like Ben Savage (Whitechapel) on songs like Neuro Osmosis and Fragment are some of the most dynamic, beautiful, and brutal songs I’ve ever had the pleasure of putting lyrics to. I believe Ben is a true innovator of the death metal genre. It was also a lot of fun working Jari Laine from Torture Killer again. We wrote a great album together a few years back called SWARM! –one of my favorite releases I’ve been involved with– and Jari is someone who I have really wanted to work with again ever since. I wanted to revisit collaborating with Jari because of how well we work together; proof of that on UNBORN are the hook heavy sounds of songs like ZombieBlood Curse and Incision.” – Chris Barnes
Lead serial killer Chris Barnes adds, ” we are proud to announce Christmas In Hell..7 shows in 7 nights should bring Germany to their knees, we are planning a quick and painful death for you this december Germany.. be there or we will hunt you down!”

Chris Barnes
Led by the inimitable Chris Barnes, possessor of one of the most dominant and instantly recognizable voices of the Death Metal genre, SIX FEET UNDER now features new guitarist Ola Englund, longtime guitarist SteveSwanson, new bassist Jeff Hughell, and drummer Kevin Talley, whose history blasting for Dying Fetus, Misery Index, and Chimaira speaks for itself. SIX FEET UNDER 2012 finds the band reinvigorated and churning out some of the most visceral, in-your-face, and downright horrifying tunes in their renowned discography of brutality both lyrically and musically.
Said Decibel Magazine off the band’s recently-unleashed Undead full-length: “This is the best thing SFU have recorded since Maximum Violence… [Chris Barnes] hasn’t sounded this focused or committed in years.” Listen and order at:
CATTLE DECAPITATION‘s 11-track album, Monolith Of Inhumanity, is an achievement that stands out as one of the most volatile, ambitious, and impossible-to-pigeonhole records of 2012. Commended by Stereokiller for being “their most focused and intelligent album yet… this is another solid CATTLE DECAP release that proves again that they are not to be fucked with,” and noted for being “arguably the quartet’s strongest effort to date,” by Blistering, the record was produced by Dave Otero of Denver’s Flatline Audio and finds the progressive grind conjurers exploring innovative new techniques in song writing without abandoning their signature formula of confrontational audio wreckage. Be sure to check out the band’s latest video for “Kingdom Of Tyrants” HERE.
