Bassist Jeff Hughell and guitarist Steve Swanson of American Death Metal giants SIX FEET UNDER are pleased to announce their recent endorsement with Dean Markley strings!

Comments Hughell: “Dean Markley are the only strings that can handle my finger domination! I’ve been using Dean Markley strings for almost 20 years and they are the only strings that have the brightness to cut through especially in Metal!”

SIX FEET UNDER – Return From The 18 Nights Of Blood Tour

Death Metal behemoths SIX FEET UNDER recently returned home from the victorious 18 Nights Of Blood Tour. The short but ravaging trek marked the first live outing featuring newly recruited rhythm guitarist Ola Englund as well as bassist Jeff Hughell [ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile] and systematically bludgeoned all in its path.

SIX FEET UNDER – Chris Barnes Issues Roadside Tour Update; Band Joins Barge To Hell Lineup

Death Metal tyrants SIX FEET UNDER are currently midway through their long-anticipated 18 Nights Of Blood Tour. The trek kicked off in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this month and has systematically leveled nine cities. This is the band’s first live outing featuring newly recruited rhythm guitarist Ola Englund who takes the place of Rob Arnold as well as bassist Jeff Hughell [ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile].Support is being provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation.

Comments growl commander Chris Barnes:  “Just wanted to give a shout-out to all the fans who’ve attended the 18 Nights Of Blood tour! I’ve been having a great time out on the road with the new band members. Both Jeff and Ola are kicking some serious ass on stage and the new songs are going over killer! Life is good!! SIX FEET  UNDER are touring in support of Undead, unleashed to North American ears via Metal Blade on May 22. Their latest installment of audio violence toppled Billboard charts upon its first week of release and continues crushing souls. In related news, SIX FEET UNDER were recently added to the monolithic Barge To Hell lineup where 40 of Metal’s most extreme acts along with 2,000 headbangers from around the world take over a luxury cruise ship for a five-day/four-night trip to the Caribbean. The Barge sets sail on December 3 from Miami, Florida. Others bands scheduled to appear include Behemoth, Corrosion Of Conformity, Enslaved, Rotting Christ, At The Gates, Possessed and more!

Undead, the latest installment of audio brutality from Death Metal deviants SIX FEET UNDER, entered the Billboard Heatseekers Chart at #5 upon its first week of release! In addition, Undead landed at at #30 on the Billboard Top Independent Album Chart, #22 on the Billboard Top Hard Music Albums Chart, #14 Billboard Top Current Albums Chart and #183 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.

In Canada, the record ranked in at #34 on the Hard Music Chart, #199 on the Top 200 Current Albums Chart, #167 on the iTunes Top 200 Chart, #35 on the iTunes Rock Chart and #3 on the iTunes Metal Chart. Undead reaped additional praise in Germany entering the German Media Market/Saturn Album Charts at #56 and the German Media Control Trend Charts at #40.

Band To Embark Upon 18 Nights Of Blood Tour Next Month

Death Metal ministers SIX FEET UNDER today announces the addition of rhythm guitarist Ola Englund to their legendary ranks. Englund, who will make his first official appearance with the band on the 18 Nights Of Blood Tour set to commence next month, takes the place of Rob Arnold.

Comments founding vocalist Chris Barnes of the new recruit:  “Ola is an amazing guitarist and was chosen for his superlative technique and style of playing. We believe he will be the perfect complement to Steve Swanson, and the devastating rhythm section that is Talley/Hughell. Steve, Kevin, Jeff and myself are so looking forward to Ola’s entrance into the band upon the release of Undead and the commencement of our first tour next month with Dying Fetus and Revocation. We can’t wait for you to witness the new killing machine that is SIX FEET UNDER! Ola takes over duties for our good friend and death metal warrior Rob Arnold who will be retiring from touring but will remain a central writing partner and fellow collaborator on future SFU releases. We are all sad to not have Rob on the road with us, but are confidant and 110% psyched that Ola is now within the ranks of the Undead and will be ready to lay waste to every stop along the way! Hails!”

Adds Englund: “When I got the call from Chris, it felt unreal; first thing that popped up in my head was, ‘why the hell did he want me — the total gear nerd from Sweden — to join his awesome band? To be able to share the stage with one of the biggest icons in Death Metal and the other killer musicians in SFU is a complete honor and a dream come true for me. I couldn’t be happier about the situation! Also the new album blew my mind the first time I heard it, it’s intense as hell, but still has the riffs and the grooves that SIX FEET UNDER swears by. Scheduled for North American release on May 22, 2012 through Metal Blade Records, Undead was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver) and mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy) at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida.

Today Metal Hammer Germany is hosting an exclusive premiere of “Frozen At The Moment Of Death,” from death metal tyrants SIX FEET UNDER. The track comes off the band’s Undead full-length set for North American release on May 22, 2012 through Metal Blade Records. Commented growl king Chris Barnes of the release: “Creating an album is a lot of work and a lot of focus, but we didn’t really have too many hiccups in the recording.
