Time To Kill Records is proud to announce the signing of Italian death metallers SEPOLCRAL.
The band is currently putting the finishing touches to the new album “Scourge”, which will be released in 2023.
Formed in 1993, Italy’s SEPOLCRAL have lurked in the underground across a handful of demos and a couple of albums (including the infamous debut album “Victims”, recorded in 1996 but released only in 2017).
SEPOLCRAL’s vision of death metal is as relentless as it gets: sinister and raw, often influenced by grind and hardcore and always sharp, full of barbed hooks, thick with atmosphere and drenched in groove.

Nuclear Blast issues: Polish death metal legends VADER are proud to announce their “Revelation Of The Wicked – North American 2023” tour. The 29-date trek will kick off in Arizona on March 18th, the tour will make stops in Atlanta, Quebec City, and Salt Lake City before concluding in San Diego on April 17th. Joining the tour are Brazil’s death metal heroes KRISIUN and brutal-tech death merchants and labelmates DECREPIT BIRTH.

From British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley in Canada, Nomad has been making a name for themselves locally for the last several years, playing at local fests and supporting big-name acts in the extreme metal scene. Now they have their debut album “The Mountain” ready for consumption and their blend of progressive, groovy death metal is sure to impress existing fans and entice new listeners. Their first single “Burning Alive” was the first song they wrote together, pieced together at their very first jam. The lyrics were inspired by the heat of that day, and the careless ignition of forest fires. They added blazing riffs, smokey vocals, and smooth bass lines to round it out, making it an impressive introduction to Nomad. They share their thoughts on the album:
“We’re hoping that it fills the need for a little groove in the metal scene. We’ve spoken to many people in the audience after playing a show that say there are not enough bands like Nomad out there that like to slow it down and catch you with a good hook once in a while. We feel that many emotions and influences can be felt throughout this album and are sure to keep the listeners engaged and entertained with heavy riffs, blasting beats, and dynamic vocals.”
There have been a few lineup changes in Nomad since their inception and each one of those members has left their mark on the band’s music. They’ve always worked collaboratively, one member bringing in the skeleton of a song and it being workshopped until it meets everyone’s standard. This had led to masterful consistency, present in every groovy riff, every chunky chord, and throughout the blasting of drums.

“The Mountain” was mixed by drummer Bretton Melanson and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy). It is recommended for fans of Gojira, Lamb of God, and Pantera.

DEIQUISITOR was formed in 2013 by Henrik B.C and Thomas F.J, both of whom spent time in several Order of the Nonagram bands such as BLODFEST and WOLFSLAIR. Those familiar with Henrik and Thomas’ work in the Danish underground scene will recognize elements of the part appearing in their new material. Wacken Metal Battle Canada announces its return in 2023 to cities across the country. Hosting battles from coast to coast since 2013, Wacken Metal Battle Canadaselects one unsigned Canadian band to perform on one of the world’s most prestigious stages and largest metal festival Wacken Open Air, with over 80,000 people in attendance, held in Wacken, Germany for over 30 years.
WMBC has been on pause since 2019, due to the Covid pandemic, and has hosted battles across Canada from 2013 until 2019, with one skip year in 2017.
Band submissions will open on November 29th at 6 AM PST and close on December 19th at 11:59 PM PST.
Battles will be hosted in the following cities:
Vancouver, BC, Edmonton, AB, Calgary, AB, Toronto, ON, Hamilton, ON, Ottawa, ON, Montreal, QC, and Quebec City, QC.
All bands will be performing in front of experienced music industry professionals who will be making judgments at each qualifying round based on various categories of professionalism and musicianship.
The National Final will be hosted in Toronto, ON in May 2023 (full date to be determined).

Wacken Metal Battle Canada is part of an international competition that sees bands from across the country battle each other for the chance of winning their spot among 29 other countries’ champions, and represent Canada in an international battle of the bands at the world’s largest outdoor metal festival: Wacken Open Air. The battles have been hosted at the festival for over a decade giving independent bands the opportunity to showcase their talents to an international audience along with the chance to win multiple prizes.
How it works: Participating cities will host qualifying rounds plus a city final organized by a local city concert promoter where one band will move forward to the Canadian national final (date and city to be determined). The winner of the national final will move on to perform at the Wacken Open Air 2023 and compete against the winners of 29 other countries in a final global battle. All bands will be judged during battle rounds by respected local music industry representatives.

Over 500 (announced) die-hard Metal maniacs assembled at The King Of Clubs on this evening, well prepared for the Metal onslaught that was to be unleashed. I was eagerly one of them. I was not denied… NARCOTIC WASTELAND pummeled my Metal senses into submission. Yes they did.

Between Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati Ohio, there are TONS of music clubs and venues. With that said, I’ve never been to The King Of Clubs before this night. I’ll say this venue is very spacious, with a full bar, an upstairs dining area, outdoor sitting area and a large stage. I was impressed by The King Of Clubs and their entire staff. A first-class music venue.

Dallas Toler-Wade is a Metal warrior,having been an 18 year member of the brutally legendary NILE. He commanded the stage with a formidable presence and (obviously) appeared to be having a tremendous time singing and playing at every second. The crowd and band fed off each other and that’s what ignited the energy level to high. No doubt in my mind, NARCOTIC WASTELAND performed like a headliner on this night.
As a live band, NARCOTIC WASTELAND plays like a cohesive Metal unit and delivers a skull numbing Death Metal attack. I’ve seen many live shows; yet I haven’t been this impressed and had this much fun since I saw CRYPTOPSY some years back.
With new singles released (“Morality and the Wasp” and “The Best Times Have Passed”) prior to this show, NARCOTIC WASTELAND also have 2 previously released studio albums to draw material from. Their blend of Death meets Thrash with threads of Trad Metal blends flawlessly together. I applaud each band member for giving it ALL at King Of Clubs that night and look forward to seeing them live again on their next tour.

CULTØ was born from an idea of mastermind Dave, who, in a very short time span, nmanaged to put together a line-up made up of well-known musicians from the Lombardy underground scene (Ghostheart Nebula, Vide, Perfidious, etc.) and record an album of nine songs.
The style of “Of The Sun” comes straight from the Gothenburg sound of the 90s (In Flames, Dark Tranquility, etc.) opening on to more aggressive musical tones. The album is not only a personal interpretation of this music style, but revolves around a message on the awakening of generative consciousness and on the power of artistic expression.
The concept of the lyrics is focused on the awareness of the artist and his creative abilities, through the metaphor of a star that, following a flare, becomes a creator and destroyer god in search of himself and his kind.

On October 28th at Saint Andrew’s Hall in Detroit, Michigan’s The Black Dahlia Murder will be playing their first show since Trevor’s passing. The show will be a celebration of the life and legacy of Trevor Strnad who was lost to us all on May 11th this year. This show also marks the first performance with the band’s new/old lineup with founding member Brian Eschbach taking on lead vocals and the return of Ryan Knight on guitar along with long-time members Max Lavelle on bass, Alan Cassidy on drums, and Brandon Ellis on lead guitar and backing vocals. Support for the show will come from Darkest Hour and Plague Years.
About the release – originally released in December of 2020: Detroit’s Kings of the Underworld, The Black Dahlia Murder, present their Yule ‘Em All: A Holiday Variety Extravaganza program hosted by Neil Hamburger (Pick Of Destiny, Tim and Eric). Michigan’s The Black Dahlia Murder has just announced a show in Detroit on October 28 at Saint Andrew’s Hall, which will be a celebration of the life and legacy of Trevor Strnad. The concert marks the band’s return to the stage after the untimely passing of their beloved frontman, Trevor Scott Strnad, on the 11th of May this year. Founding member, Brian Eschbach will be putting down his guitar and taking on the role of lead vocals moving forward. A decision that wasn’t made lightly when the band got together to discuss their future after they started to work through the initial shock and grief of losing their best friend. Stepping back into the BDM family is guitarist Ryan Knight. Support for the show will come from Darkest Hour and Plague Years.

Decibel Magazine has interviewed all members of the band to discuss what’s next, which will be the cover of the magazine’s November 2022 issue out this month.
Excerpt from Decibel Magazine: “We spent many days thinking things like, ‘Is this over?’” Eschbach tells Decibel. “None of us wanted it to be over. We still feel like there is a lot left to do. I know Trevor would keep this band going if I went down a deep, dark path and weren’t here. It’s bigger than us. When we finally started talking about it, we thought, ‘Let’s remake it from within and see if Ryan wants to return. And I’ll take a crack on the vocals and see how it goes.’ I can’t go out there and do Trevor’s voice or try to be him. I can only execute the music of the Black Dahlia Murder with respect and try to do it the most justice I can. I’ve heard Trevor perform more than anyone else alive.“
Knight says the decision to return was easy despite the difficult circumstances. “The time I’ve spent with this band is the best time I’ve ever had,” he says. “Being away has given me a lot of time to reflect, and it always occurred to me that being in BDM is the best use of my time. I’ve thought a lot about the band while I was away and realized how much value this band has. I almost feel like I let some opportunities slip, being away from the band. So, it feels great to be back and like everything has come full circle. I’ve realized how much I love being in this band.“

LAMENTATIONS are back with their second full-length, following 2016 debut album, “Echoes in the Wind”. Frontman Danny “Jungle” Jacob is now working with members from the sister band Monotheist: Chris Stropoli (Drums), Prophet (Guitar); and Jose Figueroa (Bass).
“Passion Of Depression” is a cinematic concept album that portrays the pain, pleasure, joy and sorrow that encompass one’s life journey. Razor sharp, methodical riffs drive complex, serpentine compositions supported by a myriad of keyboards, and other classical instrumentation.
The music on the album is supported by various guest musicians, who add a sense of mysticism to an already otherworldly journey, including guitarists Jason Gobel (ex-Cynic), Santiago Dobles (ex-Cynic), Ole Borud (Extol), Ethan Mckenna (Black Crown Initiate), Max Phelps (ex-Cynic, Exist), which are sure to elevate the album’s already multi-layered, grandiose and emotional sound even further.

Canadian extreme music festival LOUD AS HELL will be celebrating 10 years of roaring decibel-breaking metal from July 29th to 31st at the Dinosaur Downs Stampede Grounds in Drumheller, AB.
LOUD AS HELL has hosted hundreds of Canadian and international bands annually since the first metal jamboree in 2012 with exception of 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. During its decade of showcasing Canadian and international bands to Alberta metal fans, the festival has grown into a pilgrimage for metalheads from across Canada. Past years have hosted headliners such as Into Eternity, Goatwhore, Battlecross, Fit for An Autopsy, Anciients, Archspire, Unleash The Archers, Striker, KEN mode, Obey The Brave, Protest the Hero among many more.
This year’s 2022 lineup is another special one with headliners Vancouver’s AngelMaker bringing their guttural and brutal beauty to the LAH stage for the first time in support of their latest album “Sanctum” along with LAH alumni Neck of The Woods for the Sunday festivities. The lineup also witnesses the reunion of Montreal metalcore titans Endast along with a rare appearance from Calgary’s prog squad Divinity fortheSaturdaymoshpit. And for the Friday opening night, the venomous deathcore of Vancouver’s Carcosa and Calgary blackened death eaters Plaguebringer will set off the debauchery of extreme proportions.

Death metal legends CANNIBALCORPSE will close out 2022 with a North American headlining tour! The month-long journey will commence November 3rd in Silver Springs, Maryland and run through December 10th in St. Petersburg, Florida with support provided by Dark Funeral, Immolation, and BlackAnvil. The trek includes a headlining performance at the first annual Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest: Denver on December 2nd. CANNIBALCORPSE continues to tour in support of their critically cherished Violence Unimagined full-length, released last year via Metal Blade Records. Comprising eleven tracks, ViolenceUnimagined is state of the art death metal played with passion and breathless precision, making for another flawless addition to what is inarguably one of the premier catalogues of the genre.
While they continue to do what they do with aplomb, the one substantial change to CANNIBALCORPSE is the addition of guitarist Erik Rutan to their ranks, joining bassist Alex Webster, founding drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz, guitarist Rob Barrett, and vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher. Known for his roles in Morbid Angel, Ripping Corpse, and most notably fronting the mighty Hate Eternal, Rutan has long established himself as one of the most dynamic forces in contemporary death metal. Simultaneously, he has built up a reputation as one of the most in demand producers in metal, having previously produced four CANNIBALCORPSE albums (in addition to Violence Unimagined), alongside the likes of Goatwhore, Soilent Green, and Belphegor. Filling in live on guitar since 2019, in 2020 he became a full member, contributing to the writing process.
New York-based old-school, all-female death squad CASTRATOR have launched the video for “Inquisition Sins,” the newest track off their forthcoming album DefiledinOblivion. The song features a guest guitar solo from OBITUARY guitarist Kenny Andrews.
Drummer Carolina Perez, who edited and produced the video, comments on the song, “The lyrics talk about the Catholic Church dark era of the Inquisition terror when “witches were burnt alive” (regular people) for being wise or just being themselves.”
