Rising extreme metal acts to compete for a slot at Offal Fest 2026, with the winner decided by fan voting

Heat 1 takes place on 8th February, Heat 2 on 22 February with the final date to be announced with a surprise headliner

Rancid Offal Promotions, the organisers behind events such as Offal Fest and Goremageddon, have launched a brand-new showcase series designed to spotlight the next generation of extreme metal talent and provide one emerging act with the opportunity to open Offal Fest 2026.

This competition invites fans to play a direct role in the festival’s curation, as attendees at each heat will be responsible for voting for their favourite bands to determine who progresses to the final stage. The showcase series is built on a commitment to supporting the local scene and rising international talent, ensuring the festival’s opening slot is earned through pure live intensity and crowd support.

The competition begins with Heat 1 on 8th February 2026, which features a heavy-hitting billing including Vast Slug,World War Three, Erectomy andMindhold.

This will be followed quickly by Heat 2 on 22nd February 2026, where Combat EvolvedDushman, 12 Gauge Autopsy and War Bastard will take to the stage to compete for their place in the final.

Organizers have emphasised that every single vote matters and have encouraged the community to turn out in force to support these rising acts. While the dates for the preliminary rounds are now set, the date for the final will be announced in due course and is set to feature a surprise guest headliner to close out the competition.

We are so stoked to give these bands a real shot at opening the big stage next year, says the team at Rancid Offal Promotions. “The scene is absolutely crawling with talent right now, and letting the fans decide who gets onto the Offal Fest bill feels like the best way to keep things authentic. Make sure you get down to the heats and vote, because your voice is literally what puts these guys on the poster for July.

Tickets for the showcase heats are available now and can be purchased through the official competition website at https://battleoftheslams.com/. Further details regarding the surprise headliner and the final date will be released via social media channels in the coming months.

Dedicated to the most extreme facets of gore, grind, slam, and brutal death metal, Offal Fest has solidified its status as a vital fixture in the international metal calendar following its sold-out 2025 edition. The 2026 festival, scheduled for 24-26 July at its new Manchester home, The Bread Shed, will be headlined by two major UK-exclusive performances from genre pioneers Devourment and Ohio powerhouse Regurgitation, the latter making their debut appearance on UK soil.

The comprehensive lineup features a global roster including New York legends Immortal Suffering, Japan’s Butcher ABC, and Korea’s Fecundation, alongside a formidable domestic contingent headlined by the “wobble-box” specialists Crepitation and the official reunion of Infected Disarray.

Bolstered by further international talent such as GutturalSlugUnbirth and Darkall Slaves, Offal Fest 2026 aims to build upon the momentum of previous years, which saw exclusive sets from acts such as Skinless and Wormed, to provide a definitive weekend of brutality for the global extreme music community.

SIDIAN Releases Debut Full Length, ‘Where Our Silence Comes To Die,’ Via Rebel Pyro Musick

Posted in Extreme Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on December 26, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Marking fifteen years of the project’s existence, Wyatt Sharp returns with ‘Where Our Silence Comes To Die,’the first and final full length album under the Sidian moniker; a swan song to a body of work defined by intensity, introspection, and emotional dissection.

This release signals the beginning of the project’s final chapter, a farewell that refuses to be sentimental.

Sidian‘s debut album, ‘Where Our Silence Comes To Die,‘ sees its official release today, December 26, 2025 via Rebel Pyro Musick! The album will be available on all streaming platforms, and fans can grab a digital download or exclusive limited edition Digipak CD here: https://sidianmusic.bandcamp.com/album/where-our-silence-comes-to-die

Earlier this week, Sidian partnered with Decibel Magazine for the video visualizer premiere of the 2nd single, “Pendular | Amidst The Hysterics Of Gloom. Check it out over at Decibel Magazine!!

The album’s first single premiere, “Elegiac, Absent Catharsis, is currently featured on the ‘Pulse Of The Maggots (Knotfest)‘ Official Playlist, which you can check out at this location.

With their 2019 debut EP, ‘Carry My Bones,’ Sidian‘s soundscapes were immediately compared to early-era Between the Buried and Me, shades of early Rivers of Nihil, mid-to-late-era Job For A Cowboy, as well as light traces of Ulcerate. Strong comparisons for sure and well deserved, though you will find as you make your way through ‘Where Our Silence Comes To Die,’ that Sidian has definitely come into their own with establishing a unique brand of sonically scathing despondent devastation.

‘Where Our Silence Comes To Die’ Track-list:
1. Parasitic Icarus
2. Elegiac, Absent Catharsis
3. Where Our Silence Comes To Die
4. Stasis
5. Albatross
6. Manic. Crash. Flood.
7. Pendular | Amidst The Hysterics Of Gloom
8. Flickering Under A Delicate Thread

W.E.B.’s music has earned high praise for its “drama, extremity, and bloodthirst in equal parts… energetic and unhinged.” The formidable symphonic extreme metal lineup is best experienced at one of their many crushing live gigs. Enter Darkness Alive, their first-ever live album, recorded in the band’s hometown of Athens on September 22nd, 2024.

“We shared the stage that night with Dark Funeral, and since we were making changes within the band, that had us excited. We made the decision to mark this day with a special release, hence our first official live album,” says vocalist/guitarist Sakis Prekas.

Choosing the nine songs for Darkness Alive was simple. “We can tell almost immediately which songs work for a concert and we always keep the audience in mind,” Prekas explains. “We want the people who come to see W.E.B. perform to have a good time, to get our message, to grasp them and make a damn memorable metal show, as it should be.”

Darkness Alive truly captures the band at the top of their game. Standout tracks include “Dragona,” blasting black metal with an epic finale that forever will be a staple in W.E.B.’s live setlist, “Into Hell Fire We Burn,” which Prekas describes as a, “thunderous marriage of black and heavy metal with a chorus that literally orders you to sing along,” and today’s single, “Dark Web,” an intense melodic death and modern metal onslaught off their 2021 Colosseum LP. “Dark Web” spits out the way people with power and money treat others: in the most brutal manner.

Watch W.E.B.’s “Dark Web” video HERE

Darkness Alive will be released digitally on February 20th, 2026. Find preorders at: metalblade.com/web

Darkness Alive – Track Listing:

  1. Crimson Dawn (Live)
  2. Pentalpha (Live)
  3. Dark Web (Live)
  4. Into Hell Fire We Burn (Live)
  5. Murder Of Crows (Live)
  6. Necrology (Live)
  7. Morphine for Saints (Live)
  8. Dragona (Live)
  9. Eligos (Live)

W.E.B. is currently composing material for their next full-length album that will see them hitting the road once again. “It is by far the best material we’ve ever had on a record. I intend to keep the promise to myself regarding W.E.B. that all new material must be better material, otherwise there is no reason to release it,” Prekas concludes. “Stay Dark.”

Hel Pyre – vocals, bass, keys
Alex Despotidis – guitar
Babis Kapageridis – bass

New additions also include Immortal Suffering, Unbirth, Butcher ABC, Fecundation, Guttural Slug, Darkall Slaves, Kakothansy, Crepitation, Strangle Wire, Lymphoaedema, Ovulating Cadaver, Repulsed and Dissolving Entity

Offal Fest is taking place on 24-26 July 2026 at The Bread Shed, Manchester. Purchase tickets: Offal-Fest.com

Manchester, UK; 21 November 2025: Offal Fest, dedicated to the most extreme sounds in gore, grind, slam and brutal death metal, has secured two monumental UK-exclusive headlining performances and unveiled its (nearly) full 2026 line-up.

Brutal slamming death metal pioneers Devourment are confirmed to headline the Saturday night, bringing a UK-exclusive set to the Manchester stage. Joining them as the Sunday headliners, making their first-ever UK appearance for a special exclusive performance, are Ohio brutal death metal powerhouse, Regurgitation.

The all-star international roster is significantly bolstered by the addition of New York brutal death metal legends Immortal Suffering, who will be returning to the UK next year for an exclusive performance. Anyone who caught their incredible performance earlier this year already knows the sheer ferocity they bring to the stage.

Offal Fest continues its tradition of championing outstanding international extreme talent, welcoming a substantial wave of European and Asian heavy-hitters. This includes insane Italian talent with Unbirth and InverecundButcher ABC from Japan and Fecundation from Korea. Guttural Slug from Denmark will return after their crushing live debut at the first iteration of Offal Fest, and the international bill is rounded out by Darkall Slaves hailing from France and Kakothanasy from Switzerland, both performing a UK exclusive set.

Tickets: https://offal-fest.com/

The line-up is also packed with outstanding UK and Irish talent, including the “wobble-box superstars” Crepitation, who will be headlining the pre-show, alongside Irish acts StrangleWire and one-man gorenoise chaos Lymphoeadema. Completing the UK contingent are Ovulating CadaverRepulsed and Dissolving Entity, all adding to the ferocious three-day experience.

They join the previously announced mix of established and rising acts in the extreme metal scene. Scottish brutal death metal band Laceration, London-based brutal death metal band Twitch Of The Death Nerve, Czech brutal death metal band Epicardiectomy, Greek three-piece brutal death metallers Embryectomy, Glaswegian five-piece death metal band Scordatura, veteran US brutal death metal band Lividity, the long-awaited reunion of UK brutal death metal band Infected Disarray, Manchester newcomers Disgracing, who made their live debut at this year’s Offal and Manchester four-piece Brutal Death Metal band Coprocephalic Mutation will be returning to the fest in 2026.

Fans should note that while the full line-up is confirmed, there is one TBC spot at the bottom of the poster, with more information to be announced very soon on social channels; day splits will also be announced at a later date.

Rancid Offal Promotions, the team behind Goremageddon and Offal Fest, said:We are excited to finally drop the full line-up for Offal! We knew we had to go absolutely huge this year, building on this year’s massive success. So, locking down Devourment for a UK exclusive and getting Regurgitation over for their first-ever UK gig is just insane. We’ve managed to pull in extreme talent from all over the world – Japan, Korea, Europe – alongside the best of the UK, Irish and local scenes. Get ready for three days of utter brutality next year in the new home of extreme metal; Manchester!

Offal Fest 2025 was a sold-out success. The event featured the likes of Foetal Juice, 357 Homicide, a UK exclusive performance by Skinless, who performed their album “Progression Towards Evil” in full, a UK exclusive set from Begging For Incest, exclusive co-headlining sets by Defeated Sanity and Wormed, as well as exclusive performances from Imperious Mortality, Plasma, Cerebral Effusion and 55Gore.

Extreme Ensemble DER ROTE MILAN To Unveil New Album Verlust | “Aus der Finsternis” Music Video Out Now

Posted in Extreme Metal, extreme metal bands, Metal, metal albums, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on October 25, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Enveloped in shadow, German sextet DER ROTE MILAN create intense, melodic, riff-driven sounds inspired by nature, historical wars in Central Europe, anti-religion and inner conflict. The band explore a strange sense of beauty that emerges from despair through the multi-faceted nature in which loss is experienced.

The new album, Verlust, follows the 2023 EP Schlund and sees DER ROTE MILAN develop further their atmospheric sound and lyrical depth. Verlust will be released on December 12th, 2025, via Unholy Conspiracy Deathwork

As the first single, and opening track to Verlust, “Aus der Finsternis” establishes the mood for the album. Through a sonic manifestation, DER ROTE MILAN focus on the initial shock, the first stage of loss in this track.

Watch the video now at Ghost Cult Magazine: https://ghostcultmag.com/exclusive-video-premiere-de-rote-milan-shares-a-new-single-and-music-video-for-aus-der-finsternis-new-album-coming-soon/

The powerful and heavy instrumentation reveals a sense of destruction, of desolation, as the reality of the loss hits. Through the melodic elements, there is fragility but also a very faint touch of hope hidden amongst the gloom.

Track Listing:

  1. Aus der Finsternis
  2. Où allez-vous
  3. Skepsis der Existenz
  4. Verlust
  5. Der letzte Rubin

Full Album Running Time: 22:54

Verlust is steeped in a deep sense of humanity – of indulging in the human condition, even those parts many may wish to avoid. DER ROTE MILAN encourage us to sit with the discomfort, with the pain and acknowledge that change is certain, but it is not hopeless.

DER ROTE MILAN:
I (guitar)
II (synth, mix)
III (vocals)
V (guitar)
VI (drums)
VII (bass)

DEFIGUREMENT: Death/Grind Act To Release Endbryo Debut LP Featuring Guests From Cephalic Carnage, Gridlink, Impaled & More On Nefarious Industries October 17 – Preorders/Previews Posted

Posted in Extreme Metal, extreme metal music, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, music videos, news with tags , , , , , , on August 16, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Experimental death/grind abomination DEFIGUREMENT, formed by current/former members of Fear Factory, Malignancy, Raven, Bad Acid Trip, Murder Construct, Lack Of Interest, Rottenness, and countless more, will release their facemelting debut album, Endbryo, through Nefarious Industries in October.

DEFIGUREMENT encompasses a cast of life-long henchmen from across the metal/extreme music underground; an experimental grindcore project featuring drummer Mike Heller (Malignancy, Raven, ex-Fear Factory), guitarist Kevin Fetus (Lack Of Interest, Fetus Eaters, ex-Murder Construct), bassist/noise architect DMT (Mormon Mincers, ex-Bad Acid Trip), and vocalist Matthias Joyce aka “Matti Güey” (Rottenness, To Violently Vomit, Formless Master).

The debut album from this decimating collective, Endbryo arrives with sixteen tracks of sheer intensity; A unified creation born of sci-fi death metal infiltrated by hyperactive overtones of gore, grind, prog, and experimentalism.

Ludicrous, grinding blasts jacked-up on interstellar strains of both melody and scathe, ludicrous putridity bursting to shed its skin, hammering percussion with fretwork and vocals working triple-time to keep up. As uncanny, unhinged, and bizarre as it undoubtedly is, Endbryo flows seamlessly into an inimitable hybrid of extreme tech death that can only be described as pure DEFIGUREMENT.

Nefarious Industries will release Endbryo on limited runs of LP, CD, and MC on October 17th. Find preorders where the “Wounded Landscape” single and “Godtopsy” video are playing RIGHT HERE.

Endbryo was recorded DIY by the band at multiple facilities, mixed by Rob Caldwell (Cannibal Corpse, Municipal Waste, Devourment), mastered by Lasse Lammert (Sigh, Kublai Khan, The Atlas Moth), with artwork by Kevin Fetus.

The album is drenched in guest contributions, including Takafumi Matsubara (Gridlink, Mortalized), Makiko Suda (Flagitious Idiosyncrasy In The Dilapidation, Monnier), Brian Hopp (Cephalic Carnage), Kevin Alter (Deathwish, Invidiosus), Crawlin Lewis (King Goro, Formless Master, Invidiosus), Karl Schmidt (Gorgatron, Visceral Disgorge), Leon Del Muerte (Impaled, Terrorizer LA, ex-Exhumed, ex-Nails, ex-Intronaut), Alec Cordero (Black Hole Deity, Calcemia), Ryan Wright (Necropathy), Leonard “Lenzig” Leal (Cephalic Carnage, Neuromorphic), and Matt Olson.

Endbryo – Track Listing:

1. Shogun Of Sorrow

2. Burnt By The Truth

3. Impure Vessel

4. Open Veins, Visceral Tapestry

5. Wounded Landscape

6. Alteregomaniac

7. Humanity In Autumn

8. Her Knowing Collapse

9. Eternal Dusk (Interlude)

10. Godtopsy

11. We Are The Worst

12. Love Is Atrophy

13. Left In A Cold Rain (Interlude)

14. The Clot Thickens

If Total Fucking Destruction, Birdflesh, Cryptopsy, Gridlink, Cephalic Carnage, Atrae Bilis, Brutal Truth, Gigan, Anata, Artificial Brain, Antigama, Necrophagist, and the like frequently contribute to your hearing damage, DEFIGUREMENT should be next in line to usher in your tinnitus.

Expect additional videos/previews of the record to drop over the weeks ahead.

BEHEMOTH To Reissue Pandemonic Incantations – Featuring Seven Bonus Tracks And More On September 12th Via Metal Blade Records

Posted in Death Metal, Extreme Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on August 1, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

“Satan’s Sword (I Have Become)” Visualizer Now Playing + Preorders Available

Polish extreme metal legends BEHEMOTH will reissue their stunning Pandemonic Incantations full-length this September.

Originally released in 1998, Pandemonic Incantations marked a crucial turning point in BEHEMOTH’s evolution from their early black metal roots into the more complex, aggressive fusion of black and death metal that would define their later work. With this third full-length, the Polish horde expanded both sonically and thematically, offering a darker, more layered sound while continuing to sharpen their lyrical focus on occultism, anti-dogma, and self-deification.

Now, over twenty-five years later, Metal Blade Records proudly presents a definitive reissue of Pandemonic Incantations, available September 12th. The expanded edition features seven bonus tracks, including the Bewitching The Pomerania EP and rare rough mixes.

A twenty-page booklet dives deep into the album’s legacy with archival photos, liner notes, and brand-new interviews reflecting on the record’s lasting impact. The reissue also features new cover art by Eliran Kantor, paying tribute to the original artwork while reimagining it through a contemporary lens.

Offers band founder Nergal, “Pandemonic Incantations marked a significant leap forward in our evolution. It was a milestone made possible by overhauling the lineup and bringing Inferno into the band, it was a game changer. We recorded the best album we could at that point. To this day, I often hear from fans who say it’s their favorite BEHEMOTH record. Even the sonic imperfections don’t overshadow the mature arrangements and solid song writing. I’m still very proud of it.”

This reissue is not just a nod to BEHEMOTH’s past — it is a vital piece of extreme metal history, reborn for longtime fans and new listeners alike.

NAPALM DEATH Concert Photo Gallery From Bogart’s In Cincinnati – May 15th, 2025

Posted in Extreme Metal, grindcore, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , on May 20, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

I went to see NAPALM DEATH with the Melvins last Friday night, at Bogart’s in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was the second time I’ve seen NAPALM DEATH during my Metal life. My Metal buddy Troy was with me and we’ve seen many, many shows together. It’s always good times!

We started the evening at Martino’s with some beer and loaded fries, directly across the street from Bogart’s. A big sports bar it is; with exceptional staff and I really dig the place. Once we saw the line begin to file into Bogart’s, we went across the street to get our night ignited by the metal that was to ensue.

NAPALM DEATH tore the atmosphere to shreds with their legendary extreme grindcore metal and nonconformist attitude! I was so very psyched out of my Metal skull! Barney Greenway is a Metal icon. ‘Nuff said, now please enjoy the photos, thank you for stopping by and Metal be thy name.

CATTLE DECAPITATION Presents From This Flesh: A Cattle Decapitation Story, A Two-Hour Making Of Terrasite Documentary | Band To Kick Off European Festival Tour Next Month

Posted in Extreme Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , on May 12, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

CATTLE DECAPITATION is very pleased to celebrate the two-year anniversary of their monstrous tenth studio album, Terrasite, with a two-hour “making of” documentary, From This Flesh: A Cattle Decapitation Story.

The documentary was shot, directed, and edited by Australian videographer Nicholas VanVidler who produced the band’s 2021-released “Finish Them”music video. VanVidler captured the entire Terrasite recording process from beginning to end and has spent the last two years piecing together the footage. The film not only celebrates Terrasite, but inadvertently examines the history of the band from inception.

Comments vocalist Travis Ryan, “Our buddy Nick VanVidler (NJV Media, Body Prison) went to make a studio documentary about Terrasite and what came out was more of an extremely introspective look into the band as a whole with a specificity on how we write and record albums. It’s insightful, intense, funny, sad, unfiltered, immersive, and if you’re a longtime true fan of the band, you gotta see this thing.”

Preview and purchase Terrasite at: metalblade.com/cattledecapitation.

Constantly evolving to explore the darkness and brutality, Canada’s newest black / death metal demons GraveMass (ft. members from Zimmers Hole, The Golers, Punch Drunk, 3 Inches of Blood, Revocation), are unshackling their next single and video “Fallen”. The track is a journey into the darker truth of fallen angels and the embodiment of that sinister truth.

Aggressive, brutal, and driving, the song will be featured on GraveMass‘ forthcoming debut album for release later this year. The full-length is written by Mayan Hate, with lyrics by Lorde Heathen, and promises to be a masterclass in extreme death metal, capturing the true spirit of Canadian black metal.

GraveMass comments on this next preview of their debut full-length:

“The fans are hungry for new material, and this one is a feast. We bring the listener into our world, our experience, our message. A fresh slab of darkness. The soundtrack for the madness that is the current human condition. Enjoy this journey into the unrelenting brutality that is Gravemass.”

Emerging from the depths of the Canadian West Coast metal scene, GraveMass is set to redefine extreme death metal and black metal with their fierce and unrelenting sound. Embodying the essence of sonic brutality with their sinister riffs, bone-crushing rhythms, and unholy vocals.

Drawing inspiration from legends like Slayer, Venom, Morbid Angel, Watain, and Napalm Death, GraveMass is a relentless onslaught of evil, guaranteed to leave a lasting impact on any listener. With decades of experience between its members, they have united to create a sound that is both devastating and true to the roots of black metal.

Prepare yourself for the extreme sonic assault of GraveMass. This is just the beginning.

Vortex has released a haunting new music video for their latest single “Haunting the Abyss” directed by Chris Kells (The Agonist). The track is the second single from their upcoming EP “Alien Realms” scheduled for release on April 11th, 2025. This is the second single off this record and fans can hear both live when the band tours Eastern Canada in April and Europe in the fall, supporting France’s XAONVortex comments on the single:

“This song begins with a melancholic black metal section before transitioning into a verse that I’d describe as a modern death metal take on the main riff of Metal Church by the band of the same name. For this EP, we focused on writing memorable, epic choruses, and this one is a perfect example of that. This song showcases Vortex at its best. We put a lot of hard work into it, and we truly believe it’s the standout track on Alien Realms.”

The video, crafted by Kells’ visionary direction, perfectly captures the band’s blend of technical proficiency and atmospheric intensity. Through striking visuals and masterful cinematography, the video enhances the track’s exploration of cosmic horror and discovery.

“Haunting the Abyss” demonstrates Vortex‘s evolution, featuring their trademark combination of guttural and black metal vocals alongside fry screams. The song showcases the band’s sophisticated approach to extreme metal, with intricate guitar work and massive orchestral arrangements working in perfect harmony. They are recommended listening for fans of Shadow of Intent, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Dimmu Borgir.

AVERSED – Premiere “Burn” Video For New Album Release Today

Posted in Extreme Metal, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on March 21, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Today marks the release of the new album by New England metal band AVERSED. Erasure of Color is now available on all streaming/download platforms, as well as jewelcase CD, and limited-edition smoked colored vinyl (300 copies) and cassette (100 copies) from supportive physical and online retailers, as well as Bandcamp and our webstore – Options HERE

Additionally, to celebrate today’s album release, AVERSED have premiered another fine music video highlighting the band’s ferocious live performance for the track “Burn.” Watch video HERE

“We shot the ‘Burn’ video at our home base venue – the Middle East in Cambridge, Massachusetts,” explains guitarist Sungwoo Jeong. “We unleashed our videographers into the packed crowd to brave the pit and capture the energy of the show and they survived! Happy to have captured that amazing show for all eternity

“The first iteration of ‘Burn’ originally came about when Sungwoo wanted to write an anthemic song for big stages,” reveals drummer Jeff Saltzman. “Naturally, when we finished arranging it together, it had a full-on rumba-clave section and a bass solo. And then I wrote lyrics espousing violent class revolution, not exactly typical anthem material! However, I think the final product is really a great picture of Aversed, combining a series of chaotic elements into a cohesive piece that is both catchy, and evocative.”

“Burn” joins two previous singles/videos “Lucid Decapitation”and “Cross to Bear”  as samples of the group’s latest work showcasing the quintet’s intense, progressive, and blistering material.

Erasure of Color comes packaged with intriguing artwork from Adam Burke (Unto Others, Gatecreeper, Cloak) of Nightjar Illustration, and is self-produced by bassist Alden Marchand and guitarist Sungwoo Jeong with orchestrations composed/arranged by Vikram Shankar (Redemption, Silent Skies, Pain Of Salvation) with a mix by AJ Viana (Wormhole, Hath, Cognitive) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Code Orange, Obituary, 200 Stab Wounds).

AVERSED formed in Boston with guitarist Sungwoo Jeong and bassist Martin Epstein remaining the sole members from the early days. By 2016, with the additions of drummer Jeff Saltzman (currently on tour with Allegaeon) and guitarist Alden Marchand, the band released their impactful EP, Renewal, demonstrating their ambition and future promise.

Their blend of extreme instrumentation and tender melodicism was highlighted with 2021’s full-length CD, Impermanent, displaying further growth, musicianship and potential. Now joined by Sarah Hartman on vocals, AVERSED are armed with a new album full of rage and yearning. Erasure of Color presents a glimpse of hope and beauty on a backdrop of raging, mournful Gothic Extreme Metal.

Montreal Aggro-Metal CHÜZO Announces Ontario Tour Dates + New Video “Bruised and Broken”

Montreal aggro-metal troupe CHÜZO will be hitting the road in March for weekend warrior dates in Ontario for shows in Oshawa, Toronto, and Hamilton. The tour dates are in support of their latest EP M.T.M.D (Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay) unleashed this past October and produced with Kevin Jardine (Slaves On Dope, Uplift Recording Studio) (dates listed below).

The band recently released their latest knock-out music video “Bruised and Broken”, which can be seen and heard at: https://youtu.be/0mVkPAsgN3k

“This track is about being pushed, provoked, and instigated to the point of no return. When in life one encounters certain individuals whose existence is to only make you angry and enraged; to bully you and disrespect you beyond aggravation, and the inevitable result that losing your temper and seeing red does to the individual being provoked and instigated is what this track is about. The utter destruction and devastation that awaits the foolish person who dares to provoke a person who has been pushed to the edge of human insanity; fuck around and find out!” adds the band.

CHÜZO‘s new EP M.T.M.D (Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay) is a three-track record that marks the next chapter and a true representation of what the quartet’s sound is meant to be.

“This new EP was to showcase our new lineup with our newest songs that are truly representative of our musical style, a style that we proudly call ‘Aggro-Metal.’ Very aggressive metal songs that have relatable themes that anyone can listen to and understand. This EP is our audio shotgun blast to the world to pay attention to and to mosh intensively during our live sets.”adds guitarist Cristian S.

CHÜZO‘s new lineup features the ensnaring vocals of Taiwanese Brazilian transplant Mischa M joining local first-generation Chilean Canadian and mastermind Cristian S. along with Carlos G from Venezuela and Alex S from Russia who all have found Montreal, Canada to be their home-to-breed their blender of grindcore, Swedish death metal, thrash, and hardcore punk to transform a sub-genre dubbed ‘Aggro Metal’.

The EP’s lyrics are driven by self-reflection and daily struggles. The inspiration for writing comes from life experiences and trying to live past them, especially the traumatic ones. Using all bad energy from bad experiences to create something positive for yourself and the world. This EP speaks of vengeance and the bad side of dedicating your life to achieving your desired revenge despite your own life and sanity. Brutal Social Justice.

BLEEDING THROUGH – Releases New Album NINE Today!

Posted in Metal, Music, Extreme Metal, metal music, news, metal bands, music news with tags , , , , , , on February 14, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Following a year of mounting anticipation, Californian metal legends BLEEDING THROUGH have released their massively anticipated 9th album, NINE, today via SharpTone Records

Over 2 decades ago, BLEEDING THROUGH burst on the scene setting a brutal new benchmark for the genre. Now, the influential band returns with yet another career defining record, NINE. Featuring raging tracks like ‘Path of Our Disease,’ ‘Our Brand Is Chaos,’ ‘Dead But So Alive,’ ‘I Am Resistance‘ (Feat. Andrew Neufeld of COMEBACK KID) and newly released standout track ‘War Time‘ (Feat. Brian Fair of SHADOWS FALL), the band’s first record in 7 years is replete with blistering heavy riffs, neck-snapping rhythm and venomous dueling vocals with messages of hope and unity in times of despair.

Commenting on the new record, vocalist Brandan Schieppati says:

“Nine is a statement of pride through these songs. We poured 25 years of passion, aggression and emotion into this record. This record is dark, raw and purely Bleeding Through.”

About BLEEDING THROUGH

After 25 years, eight albums, and countless gigs, Bleeding Through persist as a tried-and-true outlier in heavy music and culture.

The Southern California stalwarts wield an enigmatic and unmistakable signature sound born at the crossroads of no-holds-barred hardcore, cutthroat thrash, and cinematic black metal. Mastering a drastic push-and-pull, they have always occupied their own elevated realm in the extreme space, exhibiting a rare ability to not only incite a moshpit, but also invite complete immersion. It’s why they’ve endured changing tides and trends and stood strong as a force of nature with consistent critical acclaim and packed shows.

However, the six-piece of Brandan Schieppati [vocals], Derek Youngsma [drums], John Arnold [guitar], Ryan Wombacher [bass], Marta Peterson [keys, vocals], and Brandon Richter [guitar], assuredly perfect this vision in 2025 on their aptly titled ninth full-length offering, NINE [Sharptone Records].

“We knew we wanted to make a really dark record,” says Brandan. “For as raw as the feeling is, we were also very deliberate in terms of the orchestration. It’s definitely a balance. We put everything into NINE. I remember saying, ‘This needs to be the most true representation of what Bleeding Through is’. I think we achieved that.”

Bleeding Through bulldozed their way out of Orange County just before the turn-of-the-century. Following Dust To Ashes [2001] and Portrait of the Goddess [2002], they delivered a classic in the form of This Is Love, This Is Murderous [2003], which Revolver retrospectively christened it a “quintessential piece of 2000s metal.” They picked up the pace with The Truth, bowing at #1 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums Chart.

The band expanded their catalog with Declaration [2008], Bleeding Through [2010], The Great Fire [2012], and Love Will Kill All [2018]. In a “4-out-of-5 star review” of the latter, Metal Hammer attested, “This is an impressive comeback that’s tight, hungry and wired with the kind of energy younger bands can only sniff at. Over the years, they notably toured with everyone from Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Disturbed, and Machine Head to Darkest Hour, Hatebreed, and Parkway Drive in addition to appearing on both OZZfest and Warped Tour

AS THE WORLD DIES Drops “Dark Oblivion” Video/Single – Studio Album “Nebula” Preorder Available

“Dark Oblivion” is the brand new single from British death metal collective, AS THE WORLD DIES. The track comes by way of the band’s second studio album, Nebula, set for release on March 21st via Reaper Entertainment.

Nebula is a gripping journey through the realms of crushing death metal and cosmic mysticism. Band leader and death metal veteran Scott Fairfax explains, “This album is the quintessence of what AS THE WORLD DIES is all about. We pushed our musical boundaries to create something both brutal and thought-provoking. It’s heavier, darker, and more profound than anything we’ve done before.”

The album dives into themes of apocalyptic prophesies and human insignificance, epitomized by the looming presence of the asteroid Apophis, a key inspiration behind the band’s cosmic death metal sound. Adding a progressive touch with atmospheric ‘80s synths and a haunting industrial edge, Nebula expands the boundaries of the genre while maintaining its relentless death metal core.

Watch AS THE WORLD DIES‘ lyric video for “Dark Oblivion” HERE.

Written and recorded primarily in Fairfax’s studio Riff Central, Nebula is a testament to his singular vision and expertise. With a noteworthy resume featuring bands like Memoriam and Massacre, Fairfax delivers an album that is as musically intricate as it is thematically profound. “Atmosphere is everything to me,” he notes. “Songs must tell a story; otherwise, they’re just a collection of riffs.”

The latest single, “Dark Oblivion,” is a tour de force showcasing the band’s signature blend of heavy, melodic riffs and apocalyptic storytelling. With its brooding atmosphere and devastating impact, the track serves as a chilling anthem for the end times.

Nebula is set to challenge and redefine death metal conventions with its fusion of raw aggression and thoughtful composition. Mixed and mastered by Anthony Wall, the record promises to be an unforgettable chapter in the band’s journey.
