“Mesmerized by Fire” is more or less the title track from the “Death By Fire” album. I think within four minutes it captures pretty much everything about Enforcer: intensity and power mixed with a touch of melody and melancholy. The B-side is a cover of Nagazaki’s “You Can Be”. It is a track with mega potential from a band that unfortunately never made it in the 80s.”

KINGCROW – Atmospheric Prog Band To Release Fifth Album Via Sensory Records

The Progressive Metal aficionados at New Jersey-based Sensory Records this week announce the pending release of the newest album from Italy’s KINGCROW, In Crescendo.

While working in a mostly Progressive Metal direction in the earlier days, KINGCROW has increasingly expanded the scope of their sound to encompass elements of Rock, nowadays rounded-out in a culmination of strong atmospheric component similar to Riverside, Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd but also bearing a heavier, metallic semblance to Opeth and Dream Theater. This is boldly present on the band’s fifth studio full-length, In Crescendo, the new album encompassing nearly an hour over eight epic movements. Produced by the band’s own Diego and Thundra Cafolla at Sound Under Pressure in Rome, the massive album was then mixed by Giampiero Ulacco and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.

Over the past two years KINGCROW has expanded the band’s fanbase through European tours in support of both Redemption and Jon Oliva, in addition to performances at ProgPower Europe and ProgPower USA. Plans for a U.S. tour are being devised for 2013 in support of In Crescendo.

Sensory Records, a division of The Laser’s Edge, will release In Crescendo in North America on February 12th. Stay tuned for further updates as the new album nears release and as KINGCROW takes to the road in the New Year.

We’re happy to announce the signing of Germany’s Heavy Metal hopefuls GLORYFUL!

The band was formed in summer 2010 by lead singer Johnny La Bomba and Shredmaster JB (a.k.a. Jens Basten, who is also  Night In Gales’ guitarist and songwriter). Their 3-track demo “Sedna’s Revenge” gained them a high reputation among the Classic Heavy Metal underground.

The band already played numerous shows with bands like Powerwolf, Vicious Rumors, Ordan Ogan and Helstar and left screaming crowds longing for their debut album.

GLORYFUL’s music is not about any clichés or bullshit. It’s just what it is: Heavy Metal!

As a full line-up consisting of advanced and professional musicians like Vito Papotto (guitar), Oliver Karasch (bass) and Hartmut Stoof (drums), they entered the studio in summer 2012 to record their debut album and chose legendary Swedish sound alchemist Dan Swanö as their producer.

The band about their addition to Massacre Records’ artist roster:

“We are very happy to be part of the Massacre family now! As Massacre Records is one of Germany’s most important and long-living addresses for quality Metal music, it’s an honor for us to release our debut album with them in 2013!”

Norwegian black ‘n’ roll assassins VREID recently completed work on their latest long player. Titled Welcome Farewell, the follow-up to 2011’s V — whichDecibel called, “…VREID’s finest hour,” and Metal Army America commended for its “integrity and sheer electrical power,” — was recorded at bassist Hváll’s own Studio 1184 and is set for North American release via Indie Recordings on March 5, 2013.

TERMINATE – Signs To Selfmadegod Records; Debut Full-Length Releasing In Early 2013

Selfmadegod Records is proud to announce the signing of TERMINATE from Morton Grove, Illinois.

The mission of TERMINATE is simple: to play Death Metal the way it was meant to be played. Taking influences from Death Metal stalwarts Bolt Thrower and Autopsy, while maintaining a melodic sensibility akin to Swedish greats Dismember and Entombed is what defines Terminate’s sound.

Thanks to their self-released Thirst For The Obscene EP in 2011, Polish label Selfmadegod took notice of the crushing act and immediately inked a deal with TERMINATE to release their debut full-length in early 2013, which the members are currently in the process of finalizing. More details will be announced soon.

TERMINATE was formed in late 2009 by guitarist/vocalist John Porada and drummer Jim Smith. After releasing their Thirst For The Obscene demo, the lineup was completed with Tom Cardella on guitar and Alfred Mulle on bass. Consisting of veterans of the Chicago Metal scene as well as the New York Metal scene, the band has quickly made a name for itself, catching the attention of not only within their home city of Chicago, but also a core of underground fans across the world.

Today we have breathtaking news for all AVANTASIANS: The new album will be called THE MYSTERY OF TIME and is set for release in March.

Immediately after the release of this new Metal Opera, based on a story written by Tobias Sammet, the band will embark on a full-fledged indoor-tour, during which the band and special guests will bring the epic undertaking to the stage. Due to embracing all of the different eras and history of AVANTASIA these shows will have an extended playing time, and the whole evening will be dedicated to Avantasia with no support acts. Musicians who have been confirmed as guests on the CD so far are URIAH HEEP drummer Russell Gilbrook, producer and guitarist Sascha Paeth, former KISS & MEAT LOAF guitarist Bruce Kulick, and of course Tobias on bass and vocals. TRAIL OF TEARS – Sign With Massacre Records

Originally formed in 1994 under the name Natt, the band changed their name to TRAIL OF TEARS in 1997. Shortly after they recorded a 3-track demo tape entitled “When Silence Cries…”

The debut album “Disclosure In Red” was released in November 1998 via the Dutch label DSFA Records, which was followed by “Profoundemonium” about 2 years later. They signed to Napalm Records in 2001 and released 4 further albums over the course of 8 years.

TRAIL OF TEARS played a lot of shows worldwide, among others with Tristania, Therion, The Sins Of Thy Beloved, Cradle Of Filth or Biohazard. They also performed at festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Wave Gotik Treffen, Metal Mania Open Air, Metal Crowd Festival or Summer Breeze.

The band went through a couple of line-up changes, most recently with the departure of the band’s former drummer Cato Jensen. Bjørn Dugstad Rønnow joined the band as new drummer in March 2012.

TRAIL OF TEARS have now signed with Massacre Records and plan to release their 7th full-length album Oscillation in spring 2013.

Poland’s morbid sextet ULCER returns this time in worship of the old-school Swedeath chainsaw laceration!

Never for a moment losing focus on the authentic Swedish fucking Death Metal sound that has terrorized the globe for decades, the band’s new full-length effort Grant Us Death is truly an unspeakable act of zombie-invoking riffs, heavily dosed with horror-theme inspired melody lines but yet spewing forth some of the most extremely well-(de)composed filthy-as-fuck Death Metal in the recent years.

Featuring the exclusive macabre painting by Bartek Kurzok (Abigail, Demonic Slaughter, Goat Tyrant, etc) and alluring layout by Kontamination Design, Grant Us Death was recorded, mixed and mastered at Sinquest Sound Studio, Lublin (Blaze Of Perdition, Moon, etc) by Grzegorz Kulawiak and ULCER.      

Grant Us Death is a rotten bag filled with unpretentious D-Beats and blast beats, HM-2 buzzsaw overkill in the name of hate and misanthropy!  The album will be out on February 19, 2013 in North America (January 28th in Europe).

Ulcer was formed in 2006 by Lucass and intended to be his solo project, but it quickly evolved into regular band due to joining of D. (vocals), Mścisław (guitar) and Kuba (bass). Two demo materials: A Property of God? (2006) and Slitwrist Society (2007) were spread among the people but they were never released. In the meantime Kuba left the band and the second vocalist Angelfuck joined. In this line-up, debut album entitled Serpent Trinity was recorded in summer 2007. The material still had no real drummer, which was the most probable reason it met the same fate as the demos.

After a period of silence, after joining of drummer of flesh and bones – Vizun, and Kamil – new bass player, the band comes back in 2011 with brand new material offering Pure Death Metal Inferno in the vein of ancient Swedish gods and signs a contract with well-known label Pulverised Records, which will release Ulcer’s new album Grant Us Death.

A leading force in the Swedish “sleaze rock” scene of the 2000s — a revival of the glam metal of the 1980s, but with a more pronounced punk element — CRASHDÏET for the first time manage to release their brand of down and dirty Rock and Roll simultaneously all over the world.

In April of 2010 the band’s third album “Generation Wild” pretty much summed up the extraordinary but yet tragic history of a band, determined to never give up their dream. CRASHDÏET has become known as a band with a huge following of diehard fans, and the massive interest for them never seems to fade.

There has been extensive touring during the course of “Generation Wild” and the absolute highlight saw the band conquer Hollywood and New York City with sold out shows at Whisky A Go Go and Webster Hall. The band also supported their heroes Motley Crue and Ozzy Osbourne. “Supporting Motley Crue in Helsinki and headlining Whisky A Go Go have been the highlights of the Generation Wild tour,” says guitarist Martin Sweet.

With the new studio album “The Savage Playground”, recorded during summer/autumn 2012 in native Sweden, the band has their minds set to break through on a world-wide basis with a tour that will see the band going back to the US as well as going to Japan for the first time. “We will put a lot of effort into the US for our new tour. We will start in Scandinavia in February, Then we head to the US & Canada. Coming back end of April to do UK and then Europe and Japan will follow with Festivals in the summer and then South-America to kick off in the autumn” continues Sweet.

The new album sees CRASHDÏET going in a heavier and more live direction musicwise. “THE SAVAGE PLAYGROUND is our playground, it’s the beginning and the end, it’s the place where we eat and breed”, tells Martin Sweet. “We thought the time was right for us to do a edgier and not so polished sounding album, kinda like what we sound like live. It’s more organic and rough sounding. And of course we’re always evolving as musicians and like to try new ways of expressing ourselves and that can most definitely be heard on this album.”
