Matt is currently Ace Frehley’s drummer and will sit in for Torpey (who was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease) throughout MR BIG’s tour in support of its latest album, …The Stories We Could Tell.

Jimi Jamison (singer, songwriter & musician) passed away on Sunday, August 31st, from suffering a heart attack; he was only 63 years old. Jimi Jamison is most famous for being the vocalist for Survivor, appearing on four studio albums from 1984 to 2006. Jimi Jamison had also recently toured with Survivor. He also fronted the Heavy Metal band Cobra, in the early 1980’s. Jimi Jamison has also left behind several solo recordings as part of his musical legacy, with recent releases via Frontiers Records.
Metal Odyssey expresses condolences to the family, bandmates and friends of Jimi Jamison; a grand voice of Rock ‘N Roll and may he rest in peace.

There is no way to explain the loss of my brother “Jamo.” Over the years we developed a deep friendship. My heart is heavy with sadness as I struggle to express the pain, suffering and deep loss. Though I rest assured that Jim is in the best of places, it still provides little comfort for those of us left behind. His voice was magic and he had a loving heart. I called him “Golden Throat” and for good reason. Jim Jamison had a voice we will never forget. It was massive and huge and yet sweet and gentle. He was a loving soul and a brother to me in many ways. I will miss him greatly.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 2, 2014 – Faith No More, who reunited in 2009 for a series of sold out performances and international festivals, is currently recording their first full-length album since 1997’s Album of the Year.
A limited edition (5000 copies) 7-inch single of the song “Motherfucker” will precede the April 2015 release, available via Record Store Day’s Black Friday event (Nov. 28). The single will be released digitally on Dec. 9.
“We’ve always shared a chemistry between ourselves that’s unique to this band, but these past few years of touring together have made us aware that we not only play better as a unit, but we like the new stuff we’re coming up with,” explained Faith No More founder and bass player, Bill Gould, who also spoke with Rolling Stone in more detail:(http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/faith-no-more-to-release-first-album-in-18-years-plot-u-s-tour-20140902). “So we’ve decided: we’re going to get busy in 2015…make an album we’re proud of, kick things up a notch, get out there and perform it and maybe even dedicate a little more focus to our fans in the States this time.”
The as-of-yet untitled album is being recorded in an Oakland, Calif. studio with Gould handling production. The release will be the first from Faith No More’s newly formed imprint, Reclamation Recordings, which will be distributed by Ipecac Recordings.
Prior to the new album’s release, Faith No More will headline Australia’s Soundwave Festival in February 2015. Worldwide tour dates will be announced soon.

Ohio’s DISMEMBERMENT are pleased to announce that they will be releasing a reissue of their EP’s The Condemned and Denied Salvation on a single compact disc.The reissue is slated to arrive this winter via Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.

Michigan City, Indiana’s own Sludge/Stoner band YELLOWTOOTH is preparing to hit the studio in September to record Crushed By The Wheels of Progress, the follow-up to the band’s 2012 debut album Disgust.
The album will be released through Orchestrated Misery Recordings. The band has eight songs ready to be sent into the audio stratosphere. Song titles include “Before I Return to Dust,” “The Spiral Stairs,” “Meet Mr. Mossberg,” “Climbing the Mountain,” “Manifesto,” and “Season’s End.”
Guitarist/vocalist Henry McGinnis commented on the new material:
“We haven’t really changed our writing style since the debut came out, but refined it a bit to suit our needs. Having been together since 2008 it’s just a natural progression of who we are. The songs are still very heavy, and some parts still have the southern flair we have grown to enjoy since the beginning.”

Portugal’s best known Death Metal band ANNIHILATION are proud to announce that their new EP The Undividedwill be released on November 4th 2014. Containing 6 tracks of absolutely punishing Death Metal, The Undivided is a stunning follow-up to the band’s debut album. A single from the EP, entitled “The Great Cycle” was released a few months ago as a digital download.
The band’s founder Fabio Da Silva released the following statement about the EP:
“We are proud to announce the release of our new EP The Undivided. Consisting of six songs, the EP is a precursor to our next full-length which will be one song connected by three parts. We have been working on these songs for the last two years and there is a big evolution between this EP and our first album Against The Storm. The songs are more technical, dissonant and intricate than our debut album. Lyrically I spent a lot of time researching and working on the lyrics. The EP and the album focus on my vision about humanity as energy beings all connected to one source of energy. One conscious entity that connects all beings into one. An entity that has been separated from his source and originated the human species, the voyage of part of that consciousness when the human being faces death and finally connects again with the source.”

Three Shows this Weekend (August 29, 30 & 31) will go on with Jeff Beck and His Band
Jeff Beck and ZZ Top Regrettably announce the suspension of the remaining scheduled double-bill tour dates due to an injury sustained by ZZ Top bassist, Dusty Hill.
Beginning with last night’s show in Clarkston, MI and continuing through to the last show in Thackerville, OK, all dates are now suspended and fans can obtain refunds through point of purchase.
However, Jeff and his band – Jimmy Hall on Vocals, Rhonda Smith on bass, Jonathan Joseph on drums and Nicolas Meier on guitar will move forward with the following three previously scheduled dates, Tyler Bryant will open:
In addition, dates scheduled for West Palm Beach, Tampa, St. Augustine, Atlanta, Thackerville and Houston will potentially be rescheduled. Patrons should hold onto their ticket stubs for a possible future announcement.
“While we are very disappointed to not continue this tour with ZZ Top, our thoughts and best wishes are for Dusty to have a speedy recovery,” stated Beck.
Formed over a decade ago in Seattle, Washington, “Soulbender” is comprised of Queensrÿche guitarist Michael Wilton, vocalist Nick Pollock (My Sister’s Machine), guitarist Dave Groves (ex-Tin Pan/Fallen Angel) and drummer Wes Hallam (ex-Assault/Fallen Angel).
SOULBENDER II contains four all new songs (Turn Anger Up, Shoal, Slave To Reality, Seraphim) as well as the ten original tracks (remastered) from the first album (Fix Me, Clockwork and Compass, Rabbit Hole, The American Dream, Samsara, Prime Time, Shoot Poem, This Ocean, Hunger, Three Towers). Michael Wilton describes Soulbender as “a very progressive, hard rock band with very intense musicians and a couple of the members are prodigies”. Official release date for Soulbender is September 30, 2014.
Los Angeles, CA – The long-awaited third release from SIXX:A.M., the band comprised of James Michael (vocals), DJ Ashba (guitar) and Nikki Sixx (bass) is entitled MODERN VINTAGE. Produced by James Michael, the album will be available on October 7, 2014 with the first single “Gotta Get It Right” hitting iTunes and radio back on August 5, 2014.
Says bassist Nikki Sixx: “Like our favorite bands from the 1970s, Sixx:A.M. is rooted in songwriting, musicianship and lyrics – three core elements that helped to define that era. The band returned from a weekend warrior run of successful shows. “We’ve written about 15 songs and wanted to test the product, see how the set went over in front of people. These shows were a great way to accomplish that. It was also a great way to work out any kinks for the upcoming all original Danger Danger show this Saturday August 30th at Revolution in Amityville, NY. The label still has few tickets left for anyone that may need one.”says bassist Steve Rivera.
Pink Velvet Krush will enter Tropic Digital Studios on Tuesday the 26th to begin recording their debut E.P.
