‘Coils’ – FREE Download here.

‘The Carnal Sabbath’ – Song Stream: Reverbnation

Named after a gorgeous, but poisonous flower that blooms in winter, Manitou Springs, CO based HELLEBORUS, the new creation of brothers Jerred & Wyatt Houseman (both former members of Execration) are proud to announce they will be hitting the stage for performances on August 21st (their debut live show) in Colorado Springs, CO and September 5th supporting Brazilian metallers Unearthly and Krow for their tour date in Denver. CO.

_______________________

Show Dates:

Aug 21 – Colorado Springs, CO – Zodiac Lounge w/ Thorns of Acanthus, Scepter of Eligos, Nybbas – Event info here.

Sept 5 – Denver, CO – 3 Kings Tavern w/ Unearthly, Krow, Mount Cairn, Six Feet of Anger – Event info here.

_______________________

Helleborus has unleashed two tracks ‘Coils’ and ‘The Carnal Sabbath’ over this summer, which are off their soon to be finished debut full length, a release that combines black, death and doom metal with a vast ambiance. Helleborus venture outside the conventional colors of traditional black metal, the brothers Jerred & Wyatt plan to deliver a new aura of sound where fans of The Devil’s Blood, Satyricon, Necorphobic, Belphegor, Blut Aus Nord are sure to connect with them.

Album Band Line Up features: Wyatt (vocals, lyrics) & Jerred Houseman (producer, all instruments)

Live Line Up features: Wyatt (vocals, lyrics) & Jerred Houseman (bass), Brent Boutte’ (drums) and Ian H. (guitarist)

Critical Praise:

“I will forever embrace quality underground Metal, especially underground Black Metal. Helleborus have without question, tapped into my Black Metal psyche with their new song. I honestly cannot stop listening to Coils.” – Metal Odyssey

“The chiming riffs and exotic lead guitar melodies in “Coils” do indeed generate an air of mysticism that surrounds the song, but the music also rocks very hard. The thundering drums and rumbling bass rhythms give the song a sense of tangible power, and the jagged, howling vocals cut like a serrated knife. It’s a bulldozer as well as a spellcaster…the song is also catchy as hell, and it should hold special appeal to fans of bands such as The Devil’s Blood, Satyricon, and Belphegor.” – No Clean Singing

NIGHTFELL – Art And Track Listing To “Darkness Evermore” LP Posted, As 20 Buck Spin Preps Sophomore Album For September Release

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, Music, rock music with tags Metal, metal albums 2015, Metal News, metal odyssey, nightfell on August 3, 2015 by Metal Odyssey

As 20 Buck Spin prepares to release Darkness Evermore, the sophomore full-length from Portland-based NIGHTFELL, the label has issued the cover art, track listing and confirmed vinyl release date for the anxiously awaited album.

NIGHTFELL is the tumultuous project founded by Todd Burdette (Tragedy, His Hero Is Gone, Warcry) and Tim Call (Aldebaran, Mournful Congregation, Sempiternal Dusk, Saturnalia Temple), who here forge their perceptions into a harsh, epic, and wholly different delivery than any of either artists’ prior or other current bands. Surging with bleak viewpoints lyrically, matched by the seething aggression of each song’s brooding misery, the follow-up to their 2014-issued The Living Ever Mourn displays NIGHTFELL‘s wrath in an even more slickly deployed state.

On the potent Darkness Evermore, the duo unloads a more than forty-minute deluge of new material through six demoralizing new tracks recorded and mixed at Red Lantern Studios by Evan “Maus” Mersky and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, as with their debut.

20 Buck Spin will issue Darkness Evermore on CD and digital platforms on September 11th, with the 12″ LP now confirmed for an October 23rd street date. The track listing for the record along with its cover art created from paintings by Carl Auge (His Hero Is Gone) has been issued in advance of its release.

Upon the release of Darkness Evermore, NIGHTFELL will transform from a studio-only duo into a roaming entity, taking their threatening anthems to the stage on tour for the first time with additional allies filling out the live lineup. Additional info on this incarnation of the band, audio samples from the LP and more will be dispatched in the coming days.

Darkness Evermore – Track Listing:
1. At Last
2. Ritual
3. Cleansing
4. Rebirth
5. Eulogy
6. Collapse

____________________________

In 2014, Portland’s NIGHTFELL stormed decisively onto the worldwide metal scene with their forceful debut album The Living Ever Mourn, released through Southern Lord and Parasitic Records. Having since further fortified their ominous fusion of shadowed disharmony, the band now marches forward with Darkness Evermore, a commanding display of power, tension and dynamics. Again defying easy classification, Darkness Evermore seethes with NIGHTFELL‘s fiery, apocalyptic energy from the opening moments of “At Last” until the final “Collapse” and through the cycle of “The Cleansing” and “Rebirth” in between.

Ranging from short respites to more than ten minute epic pieces, the album’s blackened guitar harmonies and bleak melodies provide a somber counterpoint to the massive, imposing riffs strewn about the record like bodies on a war-torn field. Unsurprisingly considering the primary members’ other musical outlets, the immense ferocity of the vocals exact a heavy toll and agonizing dread.

As on the debut LP, great care has been taken on the production and mastering side of Darkness Evermore to ensure a brutally heavy mix with a punishing low-end that maintains clarity throughout. Poised to make the shift from studio project to live band in the coming months, NIGHTFELL‘s second LP signals a new birth for a band only beginning to make its indelible mark.

UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER – Announces Plans For A Special Tour Performing (Only UDO Era) ACCEPT Songs In 2016

Posted in Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Metal, Music, rock music with tags dirkschneider, Metal, Metal News, metal odyssey, u.d.o. on August 2, 2015 by Metal Odyssey

As reported on the U.D.O. (Official) Facebook timeline:

Farewell To Accept: Metal Icon, Udo Dirkschneider is planning a special tour in which he will perform Accept songs one last time before he closes the chapter for good. Wacken – At a press conference in the VIP tent of Wacken Open Air, legendary metal singer, Udo Dirkschneider dropped some bombshell news on all those in attendance: the 62-year-old cult musician announced his definitive farewell to the Accept song library. On a special tour beginning in 2016, he will perform songs by Accept one last time before he retires them for good. It will be a night of epic proportions.

______________________

During this Accept farewell tour, he will only showcase songs from the Udo era of the band. The German rock staple will close a huge chapter of music history forever. In the early 80´s, the Solingen-raised singer skyrocketed to worldwide acclaim with the band Accept and with his unmistakeable voice. He had several hits such as Balls To The Wall and Princess of the Dawn. Now he has announced that he will perform these much-loved hits on this special tour one more time before he removes them from the set list forever.

“I still love singing these songs live,“ Dirkschneider says. “The songs still are an important part of my catalog and still suit my voice very well. But at some point in your life, it´s just time to close the chapter. There has been so much talk and speculation about Accept, so I just want to give my last definitive musical statement about it and give my fans a chance to see me perform a complete concert of these songs one last time on stage.“

______________________

After this tour, Udo will only play songs from his extensive library of U.D.O. material. After being kicked out of Accept in the late 80´s, he garnered many classic hits with his new band in a long and successful career, such as Animal House, Timebomb, and Man and Machine. “There is enough high quality material to fill a two-hour set with no problem,“ says Dirkschneider. “U.D.O. has been the band where I belong for 18 years and I want to pay tribute to them from now on.“

______________________

The musician will NOT perform this farewell tour under the name U.D.O. but simply as Dirkschneider.

20 Buck Spin proudly welcomes Portland’s brooding and diverse metal outfit, NIGHTFELL, to the label’s ranks, and is preparing to release the band’s crushing Darkness Evermore sophomore LP later this year.

Comprised of main members Todd Burdette (Tragedy, His Hero Is Gone, Warcry, etc) and Tim Call (Aldebaran, Mournful Congregation, Sempiternal Dusk, Saturnalia Temple, etc), in 2014, Portland’s NIGHTFELL stormed decisively onto the worldwide metal scene with their forceful debut album The Living Ever Mourn, which was released through a cooperation between Southern Lord and Parasitic Records. Now, having further fortified their ominous fusion of shadowed disharmony, the band now marches forward with Darkness Evermore, a commanding display of power, tension and dynamics.

Once more defying easy classification, Darkness Evermore seethes with NIGHTFELL‘s fiery, apocalyptic energy from the opening moments of “At Last” until the final “Collapse” and through the cycle of “The Cleansing” and “Rebirth” in between.

As on the debut LP great care has been taken on the production and mastering side of Darkness Evermore to ensure a brutally heavy mix with a punishing low-end that maintains clarity throughout. As with their debut, the new album was recorded and mixed at Red Lantern Studios by Evan “Maus” Mersky and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Yob, Integrity, From Ashes Rise), both in Portland, and bears cover art paintings created by Carl Auge (His Hero Is Gone).

Darkness Evermore will see release via 20 Buck Spin on CD and digital on September 11th, followed by a 12″ vinyl release in early November. The album’s art, track listing, samples of its brutalizing audio and more will be released in the immediate, bleak days ahead.

Poised to make the shift from studio project to live band in the coming months, NIGHTFELL‘s second LP signals a new birth for a band only beginning to make its indelible mark.
