CATTLE DECAPITATION released their critically lauded tenth studio album, Terrasite, in 2023 via Metal Blade Records. Heavy metal icons Pantera will return to the stage this February on the second leg of their North American headlining tour with special guest, Lamb Of God. Much like last Summerβs run, each show will feature an opening performance by one of three Housecore Records recording artists on select dates.
Housecore Records was founded by Pantera frontman Philip H. Anselmo in an effort to release material by his many side projects and from other bands heβs supported throughout his career. Joining this leg of the tour will be St. Louis-based metal trio and recent Housecore Records signees NEST, featuring Scour/Agoraphobic Nosebleed bassist John Jarvis, as well as two Detroit juggernauts β art punk/noise metallers CHILD BITE and hardcore punk/thrashers SNAFU (Situation Normal All Fucked Up) — both of which opened for Pantera in 2023.

GRAVESEND
New York City-based GRAVESEND released their second LP for 20 Buck Spin, Gowanus Death Stomp, in October. A gritty and primal barrage of violence at the crossroads of criminal depravity and urban malaise, GRAVESEND utilizes many tools of the trade: black, death, grind, and war metal all meld seamlessly into a tar pit of scathing back-alley sadism and acid-tongued vocals
Like a newly found corpse down by the docks, the smell of decomp is wafting out of every track on Gowanus Death Stomp. And as with NYCβs underground legends from Cro-Mags to Swans to Type O Negative, GRAVESEND embodies the pulse of the city, even as that pulse bleeds out on the concrete. Gowanus Death Stomp was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Tomb Mold, Kommand), and the album was completed with cover photos by Mark Weber.

Based out of Fargo, North Dakota, MAUL impacted the US death metal underground through via various demos, splits, EPs, and their Seraphic Punishment full-length debut in 2022. 20 Buck Spin picked up the band on the strength of that first album and while the band painstakingly constructs their new full-length, they made their label debut with the Desecration And Enchantment EP in November. The songs were captured in May 2023 at Signaturetone Recordings in Minneapolis (Ulthar, Obsequiae, Sunless), recorded, mixed, and mastered by Adam Tucker. The songs feature guest synth and sample work by Isthmus of Styx, and the EP is completed with cover artwork by S. Deloria Black Wolf.
Italian black metal unit STORMCROW will release their third album, βPath to Ascensionβ, sometime in 2024 via Time To Kill Records.

The band started out in northen Italy in 1997 and is no secret to genre connoisseurs thanks to a couple of well-received albums and European tours with Dark Funeral, Enthroned, Shining and many more. But now their big moment in the spotlight has come – STORMCROW are ready for the final breakthrough with the new album βPath to Ascensionβ.
STORMCROW have kept the black flame burning for 20+ years simply out of adoration and their respect for the genre. Undoubtedly they share some of the same DNA of iconic black metal bands that have gone before them, and whilst their technical abilities add a more than impressive flourish, they operate on a βdonβt overcomplicate for the sake of overcomplicatingβ rule. Keeping theatrics to a minimum has yielded a lean, sharp album that embodies the blueprint of old school black metal and embraces both melody and an epic narrative.

Death metal quartet SLAUGHTERSUN present their first ferocious offering, “Fall of the Firmament”. Brutal riffs, aggressive vocals and unrelenting percussion produces an unstoppable force as the track displays their lament for the miserable collapse of an ever sinking world.
Ben Karas comments on “Fall of the Firmament”:
“Lyrically this song combines the lore of the Nephilim, which are a race of giant angels rumored to be responsible for the great flood, and pits that dynamic against the tech age and the giant names of that industry mimicking the decadence and ugliness that brought about the end times.”
About SLAUGHTERSUN: Drawing musical, lyrical and creative influences from the likes of DEMILICH, GORGUTS, CANNIBAL CORPSE and AT THE GATES, to name a few, SLAUGHTERSUN create their own take on the death metal subgenre. Band founder Ben Karas initially began writing for SLAUGHTERSUN back in 2017, but it wasn’t until 2022 that Karas was able to fully dedicate time and energy into the band. The band’s line-up soon came together comprised of Karas’ THANK YOU SCIENTIST band mate Cody McCorry, along with Jason Quinones (TOMBSTONER) and Justin Hillman (CRANIAL DAMAGE). In 2023, SLAUGHTERSUN began to rehearse and record in their full form and soon turned to preparing their debut “Fall of the Firmament”.

It will once again underline the band’s singularity and their persistence to follow an unconventional way for more than 30 years against all resistance.
DISBELIEF have grown into a very experienced band that has always kept an open minded spirit, yet remote from any mainstream connection, in order to further sharpen their Death Metal style with implacable conviction and dedication.
A colossal, destroying, atmospheric, yet subtle wall of sound was conceived with this new album. The band invited two of the most unique singers in the German Metal scene on βKilling Karma’: Michelle Darkness (End of green) and Joschi Baschin (Undertow). Finnish masters of melancholy and haunting melodies INSOMNIUM are teaming up with their friends from highspeed melodic death virtuosi OMNIUM GATHERUM, for 25 nights of gloom and sinister anthems in North America.
Both bands have been two prime examples of exceptional melodeath originating from Europeβs freezing North and have gained a massive following over the years through their captivating sound that combines blistering guitar riffs, thunderous drumming, and guttural vocals. For years, the American and Canadian fans have been waiting for the combo of βInsomnium Gatherumβ to hit the road together again after the pandemic-related cancellation in 2020 and now, with no more virus in sight, it will finally happen in April and May 2024.
βThe missing link between Ronnie James Dio and Christina Aguileraβ. Thatβs how Athens born ANDRY LAGIOU describes herself as a vocalist. A former runner-up on The Voice of Greece and frontwoman of The Harps, she has decided to embark on a solo career and will be just ANDRY.
Being a well-known name on the international metal scene, her highly anticipated debut album ‘Skies’ will be released on February 16 2024 through Baby Mistress Records.
The first single, for the title-track ‘Skies’ is out now and available on all streaming platforms via The Orchard, at https://orcd.co/skies.
Skies’, the hard-hitting title track of the album is an important song for Andry and close to her heart: βSkies is about empowerment and rising through the ashes of a nuclear war having many allegories of female abuse and my personal life. The artwork of the album is inspired by the space and how it might look in the future. Since you canβt live in the past it is consoling to dream about the future and about the changes it will bring.β
Andry is much more than just a singerβ¦ songwriter, guitar player, feminist. She first appeared on the scene in 2013, when she founded her band The Harps but it was in 2017 when she took Greece by storm after winning a blind audition on The Voice, covering a spectacular version of Deep Purpleβs ‘Burn’. The video garnered more than one million views on YouTube (see below). After finishing as the runner-up at The Voice of Greece, Andry released the album ‘Love Strikes Doves’ with The Harps and was featured as guest vocalist on several albums, including The Vivaldi Metal Project and prog metal act Pyramid, where she duetted with Tim Ripper Owens on the smash song ‘Stygma’.
By 2022 Andry decided to take fate in her own hand and wrote and recorded her first solo-album ‘Skies’. Mixed by sound wizard Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Winery Dogs, Steel Panther), the album features contributions from Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, Winery Dogs, David Lee Roth), Mike Lepond (Symphony X), Russell Gilbrook (Uriah Heep) and Stephen Platt (Devin Townsend).
Most of all, ‘Skies’ contains the amazing vocal and songwriting talents of Andry, a strong and confident woman who has taken control of her own careerβ¦ and life: βOne choses her own destiny. Are you a slave to your emotions or your goals? Life is like a jungle, you eat or you’ll be eaten.β
With the imminent release of her album, Andry has put a kick-ass live band together to take her music to live stages across Europe and beyond. Her tour will start in January with shows in the Benelux.

Founded in late 2015 by mastermind Manny Watts, extreme prog merchants VOIDGAZER released their debut EP, Years Of Exile, the following year. The band jammed around the Midwest over the next three years, naturally evolving the music and band until the current lineup. Although they first played together in 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic forced them put their live performances on ice as well as hit pause on the release of their second EP, Dance Of The Undesirables. They initially planned a large release campaign for the offering but ultimately only pressed enough copies to cover their last few scheduled live performances. It was during this down time that Atomic Fire Records took interest in VOIDGAZER‘s vision and offered them an international recording contract.

THE 69 EYES earned platinum status with the albums Blessed Be (2000) and Paris Kills (2022) and not only reached #1 of the single and album charts in their home country of Finland, but also plunged the world into a sinful cosmos of love, death, and melancholy, while outliving any other band emerging from the goth hype of the early 2000s. By developing their sound further into sleaze rock on Devils (2004) and Angels (2007) and not shying away from pitch black Elvis allusions in singer Jyrki 69βs dark voice and unique onstage dance moves, the band has established a worldwide following. Kyiv (UA) – After a long silence, Ukrainian Brutal Death Metal quartet SCHIZOGEN have released a lyric video new single “Out of the Light,” courtesy of Slam Worldwide YouTube Channel. βThe single was written before the full-scale war that followed Russia’s unprovoked aggression against Ukraine,” the band explains. “So it took much longer than we would have liked, but we hope you will appreciate the result. We are not going to tell you what this song is about, what meanings and feelings we put into it, because in our opinion everything is very individual. That is why the release is in the form of a lyric video, where everyone can familiarize themselves with the lyrics while listening to the composition, experience it with us and get their own emotions, their own vision of the meanings embedded in this track.”

Following their trip through various acoustic landscapes during the pandemic, Clear Cold Beyond contains ten tracks reviving SONATA ARCTICAβs penchant for power metal-esque songwriting. From high-speed anthems such as βFirst In Lineβ and βCaliforniaβ to emotion-laden tracks like βThe Best Thingsβ and the closing title track, the record offers something for each and every SONATA ARCTICA fan. The album’s artwork, reminiscent of the art adorning early releases, was created by Niko Anttila. Additionally, the band returned to mixing engineer Mikko Karmila (1999βs Ecliptica, 2012βs Stones Grow Her Name). Final mastering was handled by Svante ForsbΓ€ck (Rammstein, Korpiklaani, Delain, The 69 Eyes, Deathstars) who has also been part of other SONATA ARCTICA productions.
Epic Metal pioneers WARLORD are on a mission in tribute to fallen bandmate William J Tsamis and return once more with a new album in 2024.
With “Free Spirit Soar”, a brand-new studio album by Warlord with all songs having been recorded between March and September 2023, singer Giles Lavery and drummer Mark Zonder honor their bandmate Bill Tsamis who passed away in 2021.
They are joined by Jimmy Waldo on keyboards/synthesizer, Philip Bynoe on bass and Eric Juris on guitars. βWe wanted to finish these pieces of music that were started βfor Billβ,β explains Lavery, βand the material we felt was certainly strong enough to inspire us to do so.β Regarding the guitar parts he specifies: βBill is there where we could pull his tracks off the demo recordings, in much the same way the Beatles were recently able to rescue John Lennonβs voice from an old demo tape. however be assured this album is not “a demo”, nor does it sound like one, our new guitarist Eric does most of the heavy lifting as far the recording, but all of the music was written by Bill and we stayed very very faithful to what he wrote.β
