German singer, guitarist, producer Michael Voss has announced the release of his upcoming album, “Rockers Rollin’ (A Tribute To Rick Parfitt)”, due out on October 13, 2023 via Massacre Records! The album will be available as CD Digipak, Ltd. Vinyl LP and Digital formats, the pre-sale has just started at THIS LOCATION!
Voss is premiering a music video for the first album single! “That’s the title track of the album and features all the ingredients that made me a Status Quo addict,” he comments. “A stomping beat, driving guitars, hammering piano and road movie lyrics that keep that ole train a’drivin on.
I especially love the breaks of the chorus with its fine chord changes. Co-writer Jackie Lynton told me it was composed after Rick gave Jackie a white metal framed Harrods piano as a present! … Yeah, they had to catch that train… What a great tune to kick off with… it simply rawwksss!”
The clip for “Rockers Rollin'” is now streaming HERE
From almost year one, Michael Voss has been a huge Status Quo fan after attending his first live concert in a big arena in 1979 at Halle Münsterland, where dumbstruck and starstruck he witnessed the mighty Status Quo on their “If You Can’t Stand The Heat” tour.
Rick Parfitt stepped into the spotlight and fired his intro riff of ‘Caroline’ into the crowd, and Michael Voss was suddenly infected with his hard hitting, take-no-prisoners rhythm. Filled with an irrepressible desire to embrace all that is Status Quo, he greedily snapped up all their albums and became an ardent soldier in the Quo Army fan club as well.
Furthermore, Status Quo gave this impressionable 14-year-old the great inspiration to follow in their footsteps by learning to sing play and compose. Many years later he found himself with the skill to render Parfitt’s great contribution to rock music in this tribute to his first all-time hero.
Voss has carefully chosen ten songs, that Parfitt sang and wrote, and now proudly presents them in this glorious rock tribute. “Rockers Rollin’ (A Tribute To Rick Parfitt)” features severals high class guests, who shared the music and stage with Rick, such as longtime tour manager and co-writer of many super hits, Bob Young, original founding member of the Frantic Four, John Coghlan, Rick’s son, Rick Parfitt Jr., actual bass player Rhino Edwards, original band member Andy Bown, Mat Sinner of Primal Fear, among many more!

I’m so exceedingly exhausted of the thousands of lists I see on social media ranking who the greatest guitarists of all-time are. I won’t name the very popular publication that “ranked” Brian May as #1 aka “the greatest ever”. That ranking alone was enough for me to vomit and luckily I didn’t. My point is these clickbait lists are completely biased, whether compiled by a single person or group of people.
I’m not saying Brian May is a terrible guitarist; in fact he would probably be in mypersonal list of 100 greatest guitarists somewhere. Just not at #1 for the love of God. The only good that these lists generate are debate and discussion, I suppose many would say. End of my opinion. To conclude, without posting a nonessential list, the guitarist that is my #1 all-time is Jimi Hendrix and that resonates more historical than picking Brian May.
Guitar legend George Lynch will release his sophomore instrumental album “Guitars at TheEnd of the World” via Rat Pak Records on September 08, 2023, an album which features 10 all new studio tracks along with 3 new bonus tracks. The album is the highly anticipated follow up to his 2021 opus “Seamless”, which fans of the shred-master embraced with open arms. Guitars at The End of the World features pro drumming legend Curt “Kirkee B.” Bisquera, who has worked with such greats as Elton John, Mick Jagger and Tom Petty, and also features renowned bassist Tony Franklin, who is known for his work with The Firm, Jimmy Page and Kenny Wayne Sheperd. Also appearing is Lynch Mob drummer Jimmy D’Anda on the track “The Crucible”.
Regarding George’s approach to instrumental albums, the virtuoso states, “I always focus on creating guitar-driven music that delivers something outside the realm of what most people would expect, coming from a semi-redeemed 80’s hair shredder. I want my instrumental records to be challenging, but not exhausting; personal, without being belligerently self-indulgent, include a fair amount of guitar histrionics, and pay tribute to the masters without making it sound like I’m competing to be the end-all summation of all guitar legacies that preceded me. I also wanted the underlying music to be more than vehicles for solos, I want the compositions to stand on their own”, explains Lynch. Fueled with driving guitar tracks like “Psycho Beta” and “The Crucible”, to the haunting outro of album closer “Contraflow”, it is clear there is no slowing down George’s creativity and Guitars at The End of the World is sure to be a fan favorite!

Swedish hard rock powerhouse BÜRNER have announced the upcoming release of their sophomore album, “Hittin’ The Target”, on September 15th, 2023 via Time To Kill Records. The first video from the album,“Beer Before Glory”, is out today. Watch it HERE.
“After the release of ‘Baptized in Gasoline’ we continued to write new songs as always. Soon there was enough material for a second album and recording began. We always do everything with a smile and our sick sense of humor. The inspiration it comes from anything really, there are so many bands that have inspired us over the years. Janne came up with the idea for the cover and title and work moved on. We are really happy with the result and our fans will be in for a nice surprise. ‘Hittin’ The Target’ will be our second release and once again it will be filled with hard rock’n roll riffs. The perfect soundtrack for gulping cold beer!”.
“Hittin’ The Target” tracklist:
Beer Before Glory
Burnerator
Haulin’ Ass
Bring Me The Fire
Warrior
Baptized In Gasoline
Soulmate Killer
Come Blow The Horn
Bloodstorm
Up Shit Creek
Line-up: Björn Ohlson – Guitars/Vocals Mats Thuresson – Bass Jan Andersson – Drums
BÜRNER call their music gasoline-fuelled rock with no brakes and with this expression they hit the nail. The three guys from Sweden don’t play stale guitar rock, but groove into R’n’R paradise. Motörhead, AC/DC, Saxon? Admittedly very big names. But you just can’t avoid mentioning those bands while describing BÜRNER. Their music sounds like a spontaneous casual jam, bursting with energy. Their sound is loud and heavy, vibrant and always catchy.
Dallas Glam-rock Band Captures Listeners With Electrifying Sound
Dallas, TX — Electrifying rock band The Dirty Shirts are back with a captivating new single, “Gin & Roses,” that leaves listeners craving more. The track sets the rock music scene ablaze with its infectious melodies and soul-stirring lyrics. “Gin & Roses” is available to stream and download worldwide.
“Gin & Roses” explores a world of passion and intensity, fueled by the classic combination of gin and the metaphorical allure of roses. With lyrics like “makes me feel alive like sunshine mixed with cyanide” and “hits like the first time, it gets me high,” The Dirty Shirts plunge listeners into an atmospheric soundscape that captures the essence of desire and temptation. Fusing enchanting pop-rock melodies with an irresistible chorus and bold guitar riffs, The Dirty Shirts embark on an exhilarating musical journey through feelings of intoxication and lust. “At its core, the song is about love, and the different ways it makes us feel, and I thought that was a great vehicle for a summer song,” frontman Nick Santa Maria explains. “I have a tendency to lean towards the moodier side of the spectrum, and not that it isn’t there on this song, but I wanted something that people would roll their windows down and turn up as loud as they could stand it on the way to the lake or by the pool this summer.”

“Gin & Roses” was recorded at Modern Electric Sound Recorders in Dallas, Texas, capturing the band’s explosive energy and translating it into a sonically immersive experience. The song was produced by Jeff Saenz, recognized for his work with acclaimed artists such as Leon Bridges, Reverend Horton Heat, and Nikki Lane, and engineered by Joel Raif. Santa Maria self-produced the demos and brought them to Saenz, who took those and ran with it. They paired guitars that sounded akin to The Clash or The Strokes with a bunch of classic synths, which took things in a completely different direction than the original demo, but it opened up a whole new world for Santa Maria, sonically. “Joel is an absolute wizard with synths. I think the more we work with Jeff and Joel, the more we’ll evolve our sound, and I can’t wait to see what we do next.”
The Dirty Shirts, a dance-rock group from Dallas, Texas, came into the music scene in 2021. Over the past couple of years, they have unleashed a series of singles and visually stunning videos, while embarking on tours throughout North America. Before the band’s start, Nick Santa Maria, the band’s founding member, and lead singer, had been touring as a sideman for country artists until the global pandemic hit. During this unexpected pause, Santa Maria underwent a transformative musical reimagining, culminating in the creation of a rock-centric band that perfectly encapsulated his passion and includes a cast of top-notch Dallas musicians. This marked the beginning of The Dirty Shirts.
Melding classic glam like David Bowie and T Rex with modern sensibilities like The Weeknd, Foals, and The Killers, The Dirty Shirts combine their diverse influences, resulting in the release of their debut album, The Get Up From The Get Go, and a subsequent nationwide tour in 2022. Mesmerizing audiences with their dynamic performances of hit singles like “HEART ATTACK,” “Detonator,” and “Please Me,” the band swiftly gained momentum and continued to produce more music as their popularity spread. Notably, Santa Maria emphasizes their desire for their music to provide solace and comfort to their listeners, particularly during life’s most challenging moments.
“Gin & Roses” is now available to stream and download HERE
From the pulsating rhythm and intoxicating lyrics, every element of “Gin & Roses” enthralls listeners and resonates with rock enthusiasts. This release sets the stage for an exciting year ahead for The Dirty Shirts, as there are more releases to come in 2023. Tom Keifer brought his signature blues- rock sound back to the Star City on his new Live & Loud tour, but he did not come alone. The Tom Keifer Band performed at Dr Pepper Park in Roanoke Virginia on June 18th along with Winger and John Corabi.
John Corabi was the first to get the crowd pumped and ready to go. Corabi has quite the musical background as “both the former and current” lead singer of The Dead Daises and the brief period he sang for Motley Crue. He performed a 6 song acoustic set which included a song off of “Unplugged” called “If I Never Get to Say Goodbye”. The song was dedicated to two of his friends who were unfortunate victims of a tragic shooting. Corabi stated “If you have love ones at home make sure you always say you love them because you never know what the universe has in store.” He truly caught the crowd attention and participation by playing “Hooligans Holiday” joking that he is “the guy who ruined Motley Crue’s Career.”

All together Corabi’s gruff rock n roll voice and passion for the music paired perfectly with the overall feel of the rest of the night. He never skipped a beat and he never missed a note. After the show he met individually with fans to take pictures and sign autographs. Corabi was only the beginning of what continue to be a night filled with the sounds of the 80s.
Kip Winger – photo credit: TBE Photography
Winger took the stage next with their full original lineup featuring Kip Winger, Reb Beach, Rob Morgenstein, and Paul Taylor as well as Howie Simon. They started the show off with a song from their 2023 album “Seven” called “Stick the Knife in and Twist.” Every song from the new album that Winger played was received just as well as the hits from back in the day with fans singing back at them word for word. Kip still looks and sounds just like the heartthrob that stole the hearts of everyone when the band first began. Hits like “Miles Away”, “Madalaine”, and “Seventeen” basically sounded almost identical to the album but with an ever so slight change that comes with aging. Each member played with the grit and attitude of a true rockstar.
Tony Higbee and Tom Keifer – photo credit: TBE Photography
Tom Keifer and his band hadn’t even made it to the stage before they were met with the adoring screams of fans as they walked from the buses. Early on the fans were treated to Heartbreak Station, the title track of Cinderella’s third studio album. Keizer stated that it had been awhile since they had played it and jokingly asked that if he messed up that the crowd not be too upset. All one had to do was listen to know that he did not disappoint.
Tony Higbee – photo credit: TBE Photography
As the night progressed, the fans singing never let up nearly masking Keifer himself. This only fueled the passion inside not only him but the rest of the band. Each song played louder and stronger then the last. By the time the piano was rolled out so much emotion had been built up that it resulted in a very powerful and extremely well received version of “Don’t Know What You Got Till It’s Gone.”
Tony Higbee – photo credit: TBE Photography
Keifer truly lived up to the tours name, Live and Loud. It is highly apparent that the Tom Keifer Band is more than just 7 musicians on a stage, they are a family. The band currently consists of Tom Keifer, Savannah Keifer, Tony Higbee, Billy Mercer, Jarred Pope, Kory Myers, and Tanya Davis. The guitar pairing of Keifer and Higbee on guitar is immaculate. There is no one sounding better than the other. They both come together seamlessly creating that bluesy sound that everyone has come to love from Keifer’s music. However, having a guitarist as strong as Higbee allows Keifer to set the guitar down and really get into the vocals and interaction with the crowd. All the while Higbee is still able to keep up the Cinderella sound and have fun doing it.
Billy Mercer – photo credit: TBE Photography
As for Keifer’s voice, it is no secret that he has had multiple surgeries involving his throat but that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to sing every song like it was written. Keifer pushed the limits with his voice and reached for every high note showing that he’s still got it.
Alice Cooper revs up as loudly as ever on his latest solo album Road. Produced by longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin, it’s written, composed and recorded with his trusted, longtime bandmates – Ryan Roxie [guitar], Chuck Garric [bass], Tommy Henrikson [guitar], Glen Sobel [drums], and Nita Strauss [guitar]. “Road” channels the spirit of old school Alice with instantly recognizable grit and plenty of gusto. It’s everything you’d hope for from him and more.
“For Road, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs,” says Alice. “I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so.”
The album opener and first single “I’m Alice” sets the tone for the album with its driving drumbeat as guitars wail in the distance. Alice’s instantly recognizable rasp takes hold, “I know you’re looking for a real good time. So, let me introduce you to a friend of mine. I’m Alice. I’m the Master of Madness; the Sultan of Surprise…so don’t be afraid, just look into my eyes.”
“Road” is going to be released on August 25th, 2023 on earMUSIC in a wide variety of formats and limited vinyl colors. Complementing the album’s theme, the bonus DVD/Blu-ray comes with Alice Cooper’s full live show at Hellfest 2022 and includes all the classics and rarely played gems.

ICONIC BAND’S SET INCLUDES BULLHEAD IN ITS ENTIRETY
June 5, 2023, LOS ANGELES – The Melvins, continuing their 40thanniversary celebrations, have announced the “Twins of Evil Tour,” a seven-week trek that sees the Los Angeles-by-way-of-Washington band joined by Japanese trio Boris, with both groups performing classic albums in their entirety: Bullhead (Melvins) and Heavy Rocks (Boris).
“40 years as the Melvins!!! What better way to celebrate that unlikely milestone than by setting off on the ‘Twins of Evil Tour’ with our friends, Boris,” Buzz Osborne shares of a set that will see the iconic band perform the beloved Bullhead album in its entirety, as well as additional tracks across their discography. “This will be a stone groove!”
Boris’ Takeshi adds: “Could anyone have predicted such an astonishing event, that Boris and the Melvins would tour the entire USA together? Since the mid-1980s, the Melvins have had an enormous influence on artists of all genres not only limited to heavy music, and have brought forth a surge of faithful followers over the years. Needless to say, Boris is just one of these many bands influenced by the mighty Melvins, and we took our name from a song title off of the 1991 album, Bullhead.”
The Melvins have already had an eventful 40th anniversary year, recently wrapping up a stint on the Ipecac Geek Show tour with labelmates Mr. Bungle and Spotlights, before venturing overseas for the band’s first European outing since 2018. The group were also recently featured on a series of Revolver covers, marking their 1983 inception with a trio of portraits shot by Tool’s Adam Jones. Ipecac Recordings has spent the year highlighting previously released Melvins’ albums with quick-to-sell-out vinyl reissues. Currently available (https://ipecac.lnk.to/Melvins2023) are Tres Cabrones, Houdini Live 2005, and The Bulls & The Bees + Electroretard.

About The Melvins:
The Melvins are one of modern music’s most influential bands. Having formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington, the group founded by singer/guitar player Buzz Osborne (with stalwart drummer Dale Crover joining the following year), has been credited with merging the worlds of punk rock and heavy music, forming a new subgenre all its own. Over the band’s 40-year history, they’ve released 30-plus original albums, numerous live full-lengths and far too many to count singles and rarities.
In the course of their discography, they’ve partnered with Jello Biafra, Mudhoney, and Fantômas for individual releases and toured the world many times over. In fact, the band had the misfortune to be in both Christchurch and Tokyo for their 2011 earthquakes. In 2012, the Melvins completed the “51 States in 51 Days” (50 states +DC) tour, which was chronicled in the film “Across The USA in 51 Days.” The current incarnation of the band is Osborne, Crover, and Steven McDonald (Redd Kross/OFF!).
Previous line-ups include a pairing of Osborne and Crover with Big Business band members Jared Warren and Coady Willis, a four-piece featuring the current trio plus Butthole Surfers’ Jeff Pinkus, as well as Melvins Lite, which partners Osborne and Crover with Mr. Bungle’s Trevor Dunn. Sometimes, if you’re extra lucky, one version of the Melvins will open for the Melvins.
Last night, STEELPANTHER performed on America’s Got Talent. This was the first episode of season 18 for AGT., STEEL PANTHER performed Eyes Of A Panther (from their 2009 debut studio album Feel The Steel) and had the audience and all 4 judges on their feet with their collective fists pumping in the air. The large audience went electric, quite honestly. Even the ultra critical judge Simon Cowell was praising STEEL PANTHER, stating “this is what it’s all about”.
Check out the tour dates (above) for STEELPANTHER. Trust me, they put on a great live show and are fun as hell to see. – Stone
The acclaimed Faster Pussycat will be touring throughout the entire month of June, with special guest Jason Charles Miller. Their tour begins on June 3rd in Las Vegas, Nevada and encompasses 24 cities. Check out these tour flyers for all the info you need.
