For longtime fans of UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER, “Blindfold” feels like an old acquaintance: previously heard in an orchestral version on the 2020 We Are One album, the song now returns in a gripping new rock version. With its successful blend of emotion and classic heavy rock atmosphere, “Blindfold” is one of the most emotional moments on the current DATOG album Babylon, released on October 3rd, 2025 via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM).

Filmed entirely in stylish black and white, the music video captures the raw emotion and powerful interplay of the band perfectly, showing DATOG more intimate, direct, and sensitive than ever before.

“Dead Man’s Hand” has a unique backstory: originally composed by Manuela Bibert on piano, the early demo featured only vocals and keys. From there, it was transferred note for note to guitar and Hammond organ. The results are unique: A pounding guitar riff meets a distorted, snarling organ line to form the backbone of a song that’s both driving and infectious.

Udo Dirkschneider, the iconic frontman and heavy metal legend, brings a vocal performance which by his own admission are exceptional for him. But the surprises don’t stop there: both Peter Baltes and Manuela step up with unexpected vocal highlights, adding rich texture and dimension to the track. Shortly before playing at the sold out “Halle 02” in Heidelberg/Germany, Rock legend Udo Dirkschneider was presented a “Sold Out”Award by his Manager/Booker Frank Süpfle of ITM Agency for the extremely successful DIRKSCHNEIDER tour, where 31 out of 48 Europe shows were sold out!

“It’s unbelievable, I never expected this tour to be so overly successful,” Udo comments, “It’s beautiful to see how many people walk with me on my personal way of saying goodbye to the ACCEPT chapter.”

The singer with the charismatic voice had his musical breakthrough with ACCEPT in the early 80s.

“It’s still so much fun to sing these songs live, they are a part of my biography, but nevertheless it’s about time to turn that page. There was so much talking and speculations about me and ACCEPT, so this is kind of a musical statement from my end – which seems to be very interesting for the fans who came to these shows.”

Due to extremely high requests from fans and promoters, DIRKSCHNEIDER will continue touring until the end of 2016. After the triumph all over Europe in spring 2016, DIRKSCHNEIDER will tour in Israel and Japan, doing a lot of summer festivals afterwards and then touring the US, Russia and Europe in fall and winter 2016.

Russia has a special meaning for Udo Dirkschneider and his band U.D.O.. They were one of the very first international artists to tour the huge country of Russia – and their fans are still very thankful until this day. U.D.O. “Live In Sofia” Preview-Clip “Heart Of Gold” Available Now!

On November 9th, the new live documents of German’s Metal icon#1, Udo Dirkschneider and his band will be released. Live In Sofia also marks the end of an era somehow, as the stable U.D.O. lineup that performed together for many years will be shown for a last time. As it became public that guitarist Stefan Kaufmann will be no longer available for the band due to health reasons, “Live In Sofia” will be the last U.D.O. DVD with Stefan.
