Blastfest - 2015 - promo festival flyer - norway - february

Blastfest has accepted the challenge and has delivered! It is official, Blastfest will be even bigger! With very positive results and excitement of a recent poll, the Bergen, Norway festival have decided 3 days of Metal madness wasn’t enough and have expanded the festival into a 4 day event with a total of 60 bands! That’s 4 days, 4 venues, and 60 bands! Yes. 60 BANDS! The festival is now running from Wednesday February 18th to Saturday February 21st.

And that’s not just the only announcement the festival will make today because just like the recent spate of updates the festival are keeping form and have just confirmed another 4 bands to the already exploding poster! So without further adieu, we are pleased to report the addition of true Norwegian Black Metal veterans Gehenna, British symphonic Back Metallers Hecate Enthroned, Norwegian Death Metal titans Blood Red Throne and death thrashers Wyruz!

GEHENNA

All of our grenade prayers have been answered; the word became flesh! It’s with a shivering voice of the utmost excitement that Blastfest welcome Norwegian Black Metallers Gehenna to the lineup of 2015! These purveyors of the dark arts have long been regarded as one of the most important acts to come out of the Norwegian Black Metal scene in the 90’s. It’s therefore with great delight that the festival welcome them back to Bergen for their first ever Blastfest performance.

Hecate Enthroned - promo band pic - 2014 - #4032

HECATE ENTHRONED

Back in the 90’s a band made its way to the forefront of the Symphonic Black Metal scene alongside bands like Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir, receiving praise for their ability to be both extreme in their expression as well as incorporating symphonic elements. We are of course talking about UK act Hecate Enthroned. As of today the band is still going strong, if not turning towards an ever heavier expression with their now Death Metal-infused take on the black arts. Blastfest are very pleased to have them cross the North Sea to perform live in Bergen for the very first time ever, as part of the festival!

Blood Red Throne - promo band pic - 2014 - #4499

BLOOD RED THRONE

If you were asked to name a Norwegian Death Metal band, chances are that the first name to enter into your mind would be that of Blood Red Throne. Ever since the release of their first four-track demo back in 2000, they have been a household name in death metal circles. It’s therefore with great pride that Blastfest welcome the ravenous war machine, the primitive killing machine that is Blood Red Throne into the fold. Be prepared for blood spatter and arterial lust!

Wyruz - promo band pic - 2014 - #W1320

WYRUZ

Some say Blastfest needed to add more Thrash Metal to the lineup, so they have decided to include prime Death/Thrash act Wyruz! These guys have been going strong for over a decade now, and are dead set on destroying everything at Blastfest 2015.

Horrified - Descent Into Putridity - promo cover pic

Old School Death Metallers HORRIFIED have now announced that preorders for their début album are available via their Bandcamp page. The album, Descent Into Putridity, has been picking up interest from the Metal underground, with Void Ritual’s Dan Jackson commenting: “while it borrows some of that Dismember tone, it doesn’t get trapped in the musical clichés of most OSDM.

HORRIFIED have also released a second song from Descent Into Putridity for sampling, also available on Bandcamp. The title track is a prime specimen of the Swedish and Floridian influences they work into their sound, with a thick rumbling bass underscoring the coarse riffs and hoarse grunts.

Stream “Descent Into Putridity” Here:

Physical release date is set to be in October via Memento Mori Records.

Aeon Guitarist Ronnie Björnström Working On Debut ABHORRENT DECIMATION Album

Abhorrent Decimation - promo band pic - 2014 - #4498

Today, London-based Death Metal newcomers Abhorrent Decimation announce they are working with Ronnie Björnström of Enhanced Audio Productions (Garageland Studios, Sweden) on the bands highly anticipated debut album.

Following the success of the band’s debut EP ‘Infected Celestial Utopia’ via Cold Birth Records, numerous shows across the UK including a tour with Hour of Penance and a crushing performance at this years Bloodstock Open Air Festival, the band are delighted to share this news.

Vocalist Ashley Scott had this to say on the appointment of Ronnie, “Ronnie is responsible for one my favourite sounding records of all time! The first time I heard Aeon ‘Aeons Black’, I knew we had to get in touch with Ronnie about the album. I would not settle for anything less. We spent a little time talking about the goal and what we wanted to achieve with this record and it was clear to me that Ronnie was able to give us exactly what we wanted. Our EP was a great start but now is the time to step everything up, material, production, direction – this album has to put our name on the map and we are positive Ronnie is the man for job.”

Ronnie shared these words on the upcoming task ahead of him, “Abhorrent Decimation is a great band. It will be a fun project to work on for sure! We have had close contact to figure what direction we should aim for… It will be a killer album when it’s done. Ashley sent me the demo’s, the material was like I expected. Aggressive, punchy and overkill! I had to take a couple of beers after listening to it due to all the brutality in the tracks!”.

Ronnie has created incredible sounding records for the likes of Aeon, Zonaria, Gnawer, Bodyfarm and Persuader to name a few.

Watch ‘A Putrid Vision’ Taken From ‘Infected Celestial Utopia’

The band has attracted the support from many of the big names in the UK press and overseas with support coming in from Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, The Guardian, Team Rock, Total Rock, MetalMouth, PlanetMosh to name a few, the album is set to be a well received Death Metal offering.

“…This band has all the brutality and technical prowess required to make music this extreme detonate with maximum impact, but what they have that many of their peers don’t is memorable songs underpinned by huge grooves and an infectious sense of momentum. New song “Echoes Of The Vortex” suggests that the Londoners’ full-length debut will be one of 2015’s must-have Death Metal records… Fucking brilliant, basically…” (Dom Lawson – Metal Hammer)

Sidious - promo band pic - 2014 - #606029

UK’s blackened Death Metal horde SIDIOUS have announced the identity of the drummer who joined the band under a veil of secrecy earlier this year when the band began work on their debut full-length. The mysterious skinsman has been revealed as Krhudd, the mastermind and sole member of COLOSUS, who released its digital-only debut, Blastem, last year on Kaotoxin Records. Other roster shifts have seen guitarist Isfeth take over vocal duties after the departure of vocalist Tom “Void” Allen.

SIDIOUS, featuring members of funeral doomsters EYE OF SOLITUDE, took the underground by storm in 2013 with their debut EP, Ascension to the Throne Ov Self. The new lineup has spent the last 12 months hard at work on their full-length debut. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by world-renowned producer Russ Russell (Dimmu Borgir, Napalm Death) at Parlour Studios and is set for release this fall on Kaotoxin Records. Debut 7″ Available For Preorder

Annihilation is nigh, as the debut release from Philadelphia’s hypershredder trio, DIE CHOKING, prepares to break free from the internet’s restraints and into the human populous this week in a physical manifestation.

Featuring Paul J Herzog (ex-Total Fucking Destruction) on bass/vocals, Joshua T. Cohen (Cop Problem) on drums, and Jeffrey V. Daniels (Burden) on guitar, DIE CHOKING’s ungodly fast, smoldering concoction of brutal punk mayhem, breakneck grindcore, and hectic raw metal has the trio quickly becoming known across the tri-state area through their recent widespread tour actions and now beyond with their debut self-titled EP.

DIE CHOKING was recorded by Brutal Truth guitarist Dan O’Hare at his Mark It Zero Studios in New Jersey, and unloads five point-blank faceblasters in only five minutes and forty-four seconds. Following its initial digital release by the band in January, DIE CHOKING partnered with The Earsplit Compound’s label sub faction, The Compound, who will now unload the self-titled EP on vinyl, in a run of 300 copies on standard black wax with a high-gloss cover. The physical product will be transported to our barracks this weekend and will be immediately available.

Place orders for the 7″ via Earsplit Distro HERE.

Die Choking -

Amidst other upcoming shows, including an in-store at Siren Records on April 4th, DIE CHOKING was hand-picked by Decibel Magazine founder Albert Mudrian to supply local support for the Philadelphia stop the publication’s third annual national tour now underway. Featuring Noisem, Gorguts, The Black Dahlia Murder and headliners, Carcass, the trek will invade the band’s hometown on April 12th at The Trocadero Theatre. Less than two weeks after their Decibel Tour set, DIE CHOKING will hammer Western Pennsylvania ‘bangers in Pittsburgh on April 24th with The Compound label mates, Enabler. More shows are currently being planned in preparation for the band’s second EP, recorded earlier this month once again with Dan O’Hare, which is coming together for release this Summer, and will continue as they begin to set up their debut LP late this year.

Currently in full-on tour hype mode, Decibel is running an exclusive interrogation with DIE CHOKING alongside a stream of the entire EP RIGHT HERE.

Also sample newly acquired visual evidence of the trio’s speedy rage via Metal Injection’s Pit Full Of Shit HERE.

BEHEMOTH “The Satanist” – A Remarkable Album And Fan Loyalty = Album Chart Success

Posted in Black Metal, Death Metal, Extreme Metal, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, news, rock music, rock music news, world news with tags , , , , , , , , on February 20, 2014 by Metal Odyssey

Behemoth - The Satanist - CD:DVD - promo pic - #2 - 2014 - 44

BEHEMOTH – There’s no question that the tenth studio album, The Satanist, from Poland’s BEHEMOTH has made a lasting Metal impact upon the Metal masses. I see this current album/digital chart success as a telling reminder to the status-quo mainstream: that quality Metal exists and will never say die! Both the commendable Metal and artwork of The Satanist, coupled with BEHEMOTH’s (ever-growing) loyal fan base have made a profound Metal statement during this month of February.

Album chart success for an Extreme Metal band is not an example of selling-out; instead it’s an example of the Metal cream rising to the top. Hard work and dedication to one’s craft shall pay dividends; in the case of BEHEMOTH, the Metal dividends are (in my opinion) well-earned. This recent chart success for BEHEMOTH also means that their fans have spoken and spent their hard-earned money on The Satanist, while any illegal downloaders can march straight into the douche-bag posers lounge and drink stale prune juice.

The Satanist was released in North America, via Metal Blade Records on February 4th. Below you will see the chart numbers for both the U.S. and Canada. This information was posted on the BEHEMOTH! Facebook page, on February 12th. – Stone

BEHEMOTH – The Satanist U.S. Chart Numbers:

Widespread Critical Acclaim For The Legendary Behemoth’s New Studio Album – The Satanist

_______________________________

BEHEMOTH – The legendary Nergal and Behemoth have received a quantum amount of Metal attention in recent weeks, due to the release of their tenth studio album: The Satanist. From all corners of the Metal community, the reviews for The Satanist have been pouring in, from favorable to perfect. The largely circulated Metal magazines have been featuring Nergal and Behemoth as their respective cover stories, from Terrorizer to Metal Hammer and many, many in-between.

The Satanist was released on February 4th, in both North America and in Behemoth’s home country of Poland, via Metal Blade Records. A February 3rd release date happened for Europe, via Nuclear Blast. I bought my copy of The Satanist (CD/DVD edition) at Best Buy for $9.99 (U.S.) on release day and the cover art differs from the art that has been more widely shown and marketed for the CD:

Behemoth - The Satanist - Silver Cover - promo pic - 2014

This silver cover version (above, with band logo and upside down album title) is a tremendous piece of art unto itself! Truthfully, the black band logo and upside down album title, atop the silver background, speaks for itself. This is, in my Metal opinion, a perfect example of less is more, in the world of art.

The liner notes for the CD/DVD edition are done with graphic design elegance, featuring pages dedicated for the words of Nergal pertaining to the lyrics and development of every song, with an added overlay page of vellum for each. The loyalty that Nergal has towards Satan is very forthright, within these pages of liner notes. The DVD contains The Satanist: Oblivion – Live Barbarossa. An incredible package of liner notes, and additional artwork; simply stunning!

Behemoth - The Satanist - promo cover pic - 2014

Denis Forkas Kostromitin is the artist for The Satanist cover (above). A Russian painter and occultist, Denis Forkas Kostromitin is world-renowned and created a brilliant, haunting and nightmarish dark work of art, in my Metal opinion. This painting even included the added medium of Nergal’s own blood. That is a fascinating way to become a personal part of your own artistic and spiritual vision and Nergal has done just that!

I will soon write a review for The Satanist and will (as always) be non-biased when it comes to the lyrical content based on spiritual beliefs. Metal music is an art form that I cherish, therefore my already instilled belief systems on spirituality, morality and ethics can never be swayed at this point in my Metal life. However, I’ve never been bashful to critique a bad album cover. Perhaps it’s due to my past college experience I’ve had with all of my fine art classes.

Behemoth - The Satanist - CD:DVD - promo pic - #2 - 2014 - 44

As a past student of the fine arts, I took a beating from critiques and was commended as well. With that said, I’ve always believed the Metal genre to be the crème de la crème of artistic vision when album cover and liner notes art are discussed; and The Satanist visual art is a radiant gem. Nergal, Behemoth and Denis Forkas Kostromitin should deservedly be proud about the visual side of The Satanist.

For me, the music of Metal and its corresponding visual art is what I gravitate towards; while the personal and/or theological beliefs, ideals and lyrics of any respective band falls under individual liberties and free speech. These freedoms none of us should take for granted. The Satanist raises the bar for Metal visual art, for many, many years to come. Metal be thy name. – Stone

POSSESSED – To Headline Obscene Extreme Festival, Cattle Decapitation Announced!

Possessed - promo band live pic - 2014 - #66933

Without Death Metal’s founding fathers, Possessed, Obscene Extreme would be a very different festival indeed.

Forming in San Francisco in 1983, the band dragged thrash metal into darker and heavier places with their classic albums ‘Seven Churches’ and ‘Beyond The Gates’ on Combat Records. Possessed created a whole genre and then faded away like ghosts.

Reforming around vocalist and founder Jeff Becerra in 2007, the original death cult are back and they’re writing new material too. Obscene Extreme 2014, prepare yourself for a new chapter in the unholy book of the dead…

Cattle Decapitation - promo band and logo pic - 2014 - #4046

Making an overdue return to Obscene Extreme since their debut visit in 2010, furiously outspoken death/grind San Diego outfit Cattle Decapitation have been confirmed to play at Obscene Extreme Festival 2014. Obscene Extreme organisers are proud to welcome the US powerhouse who will take their razor-wire brand of technical death/grind back to Trutnov, Czech Republic to pick up where they left off… filling the pit with teeth, blood and bones.

Having set a terrifying new standard with 2012’s ‘Monolith Of Insanity’ – a chaotic slaughterhouse floor of chainsaw riffs and bolt gun drumming – Cattle Decapitation are at their absolute best.

Obscene Extreme 2014, prepare for the slaughter!!!

COLDWAR – Ink Deal With Candlelight Records!

Coldwar - promo band pic - B&W - 2014 - #99075

Candlelight Records is proud to announce the signing of Irish hardcore punks Coldwar! Debut Candlelight Records album coming 2014.

Equally thrilled by the signing, Coldwar had this to say about it, “Coldwar are proud to announce that we have signed to Candlelight Records. We are very excited about our future with Candlelight and are honoured to be on a label with such a varied and talented collection of artists.”

This is Coldwar with their latest recording ‘Pantheist’.

Listen to Heart Of Darkness from the upcoming Coldwar album Pantheist:

https://soundcloud.com/candlelight-records/coldwar-heart-of-darkness

Pantheism: The belief that everything composes an all-encompassing, immanent God, or that the universe (or nature) is identical with divinity. Pantheists thus do not believe in a personal or anthropomorphic god.

The darkness of the soul, esoteric symbology, natural evil, scrutinization of the irregularity of the Gregorian calendar, the meltdown crisis point at which capitalist society presently finds itself, and the possible final gasp of our current ‘material age’, to pave way for a potential revolutionary shift in values-consciousness for a jaded humanity. These are some of the varied concepts with which Coldwar lyrically engage, in their latest anthology, and forth-coming release ‘Pantheist’.

Formed in 1999 in Dublin, Ireland, Coldwar are influenced by underground hardcore punk and extreme metal. Fuelled by a rejection of Church & State institutions and other oppressive, intolerant and absolutist states of mind.

To date, Coldwar have toured Ireland and the UK as well as having made several trips to Europe and the USA. The band have also played a number of festivals including Wacken Open Air (Germany), Obscene Extreme Festival (Czech Republic), Load As Fuck (USA), Day Of Darkness (Ireland), Up the Punks (UK), Cork Winter Fest (Ireland), Burning Oak Festival (Ireland), Subvert Festival (UK) and more.

Coldwar have shared the stage and toured alongside bands such as Fear Factory, Soulfly, Sepultura, EHG, Suffocation, Anthrax, Hatebreed, Discharge, Napalm Death and many more.

With four releases previous since their inception via Underground Movement each release has gained the band a growing fan base.

SLAVE ZERO – Back on November 10th, 2013, Ireland’s SLAVE ZERO released their EP: Disambiguated Visionary. Man, it’s a killer and I’m not exaggerating one minuscule bit. This fantastically talented Metal band utilizes the elements of Death Metal, Grindcore, Hardcore and Progressive Metal in such a grand fashion that it scorches my brain! Hell yes, SLAVE ZERO can easily be tagged as an Extreme Metal juggernaut.

To say this release is a MUST for fans of the heaviest Metal genres known is a gross understatement. ALL underground and Extreme Metal fans should be required to own this EP from SLAVE ZERO. My eyes nearly pop out of my skull, as I listen to all 5 songs on Disambiguated Visionary; honestly, that’s what it feels like! How can I explain it any better than that?

Slave Zero - band promo pic - 2013 - #377

The vocals are  psychotic, guttural, demonic and blistering, so choose your favorite or all of the above! Musically, this EP is an explosion of Metal sound that ripped into my face and left me hitting the repeat button for more self-inflicted Metal battery. Lightning fast Metal, Extreme, Grinding and insanely addicting is this EP and SLAVE ZERO are to be reckoned with. Metal be thy name.

* SLAVE ZERO were formed back in 2000 and have shared the Metal stage with Metal warriors the likes of: Hatebreed, Exodus, Cephalic Carnage, Soilent Green, Cattle Decapitation and Desecration.

IHATE – Chris Barnes Launches Vicious New Death Metal Project; Preview Track Posted + Special Pledge Music Preorder Packages Now Available

Ihate - promo cover image - 2014 - #3330

Six Feet Under founding throat/Death Metal icon, Chris Barnes, is pleased to bring fans his latest work of sonic deviance in the form of the fittingly christened, IHATE. A venture inadvertently launched between Barnes and multi-instrumentalist/fellow horror enthusiast Bob Taggett, their as-yet-untitled debut promises to deliver eight violent tracks of raw, unrepentant, Death Metal brutality and lyrical depravity.

Relays Barnes of the project’s formation, “Early last year I got a message via Facebook from someone named Bob and Bob said to me, as a lot of people do, ‘I have some songs and I’d like you to sing on them. Can I send you a song so you could check it out?’ I get a lot of these requests and didn’t think too much of it, but since I was just fresh back from a tour and a little bored, I decided to entertain the idea of listening to a song from Bob. After receiving an email with the first track that was attached to a video which more or less mapped out a murder storyline, I thought it was really different, and definitely creepy visually. And there was something very primitive and energetic to the attack of the music. It was very driven. I could feel it instantly. I knew this wasn’t a joke and wasn’t done half-assed. The music I was listening to was aggressive as a knife carving chunks of flesh off a body. Putting the music to a video caught my attention, immediately, as to Bob’s focus. I found it all really interesting. I have almost always worked from a storyline in my head for my lyrical inspiration and my own imagination, but never have started from the standpoint of lyrically scoring a storyline already laid out on video first, like scoring a film. That seemed really exciting to me as a writer as well as a vocalist. I emailed Bob back and told him I would love to be involved with making this album with him. So one thing led to another and we began writing and recording. We are very close to finishing the album and have enlisted the good people at Pledge Music to help us reach out to all of the fans who we hope will help us make this album a reality.”

As for what true death metal miscreants can expect from the IHATE end product? “To me, it really is a masterpiece of brutal, violent death metal,” says Barnes, “I’m really stoked that if got to work on this album. The fans know that I’m no stranger to writing some sick lyrics, but the stuff I have come up with this time is entirely over-the-top even by my standards. I really want the fans to hear this album and dig into the storylines of the songs. This is the first time I’ve used crowd-funding to make and release an album. And it’s been a very challenging, interesting learning experience along the way. And an eye-opener as well. We are really hoping the fans of death metal will make a pledge and preorder our new album. It’s really important to us that this album gets released. This is brutal as fuck.”

Check out more from Barnes as well as a preview of the track “Seeing Red” at THIS LOCATION.

Several IHATE preorder packages, which include autographed posters and CDs as well as a chance to have a personal listening session with Barnes himself, are available via Pledge Music. For more info, point your browser HERE. Further IHATE info to be announced shortly.

Lethal Dosage - promo band pic - #2298 - 2014

Consume The Southwest Tour Dates Locked

The opening track to Consume, the second full-length undertaking from Tucson, Arizona-based quintet, LETHAL DOSAGE, has been leaked onto the masses via Revolver Magazine. Bringing forth a nearly four-minute beating fueled by the band’s live-for-today and fuck the rest attitude, “Drink” most aptly displays what Consume is about. From the cacophony of the scathing vocal bellow and immediately pummeling opening moments of the album, listeners know Consume is going to be a punishing excursion.

Get a LETHAL DOSAGE of hate-bred audio aggression with “Drink” at Revolver’s website RIGHT HERE.

On February 25th, LETHAL DOSAGE will release Consume via Battleground Records, the new label founded by Tucson’s own Godhunter, also founders of the now annual Southwest Terror Fest gathering. Just in time for its release, the band will embark on their Consume The Southwest Touralongside Las Cruces’Psykryptyca, with five shows in New Mexico and Arizona between February 18th and 22nd. More extensive tour actions, including an US Summer tour, are in the planning stages as well.

LETHAL DOSAGE Consume The Southwest Tour w/ Psykryptyca:

2/18/2014 Metal Junkies – Las Cruces, NM

2/19/2014 The Jam Spot – Albuquerque, NM

2/20/2014 The Hive – Flagstaff, AZ

2/21/2014 Tempe Tavern – Phoenix, AZ

2/22/2014 The Rock – Tucson, AZ

LETHAL DOSAGE self-released their debut album, Inhale, in mid-2011, followed by regional touring ever since. After their breakthrough performance at the 2013 installment of the Southwest Terror Fest supporting Sacred Reich and Landmine Marathon in their hometown, the head of the fest, and founder of Battleground Records, brought the pummeling act under the new label’s cape, eager to unleash the bestial hammerfuck of their newly recorded Consume full-length.

LETHAL DOSAGE releases a brutal, modern, death-influenced, groove-laden style akin to Chimaira and Lamb Of God, delivered through a caustic sludge production on Consume. Bearing fifty minutes of carnage, the album was recorded at Arcane Digital Studio, produced and mixed by Ryan Butler and mastered at Sonorous Mastering. Battleground will release Consume thorugh digipak CD and digital delivery.

ARSEBREED – Extreme Death Metal Militia Completes New Album With Necrophagist Drummer Romain Goulon

Arsebreed - promo band pic - #2094 - 2014

Dutch Extreme Death Metal militia, ARSEBREED, recently completed the recording of their forthcoming Unique Leader full-length with current Necrophagist basher Romain Goulon behind the kit.

In an official statement the band elaborates: “In 2006, just after [former drummer] Floris [De Jonge, Mangled] left ARSEBREED, we got in contact with an unknown young French guy. He said he knew us from our other bands, Pyaemia and Disavowed. We all agreed on a try-out. After only one month, he e-mailed saying he had learned our songs. Slightly skeptical — one month is really quick — we bought him his plane ticket and flew him in. Once in the rehearsal room, he nailed it! Flawless, relentless, speed and accuracy! We instantly knew that this unknown young guy from France, Romain Goulon, was the prefect drummer for ARSEBREED. Unfortunately, the best kept secret in death metal was soon discovered by the rest of the world and in 2007 Romain fled ARSEBREED to join Necrophagist. Nevertheless, last year we once again got in contact with Romain. We started talking about these ten songs that we had written over time, just waiting for a drummer… and we were stoked to hear that he was willing to record them! This week we received the recordings. More than seven years later we  got that exact same feeling that we had back in 2006 in that rehearsal room. Insane. Romain proved once again that was and is the one and only drummer for ARSEBREED. He is unsurpassed in creativity, technique, speed, perseverance and grasping the concept of the ARSEBREED songs as no one else. Finally! We waited for more than six years but it was worth the wait! Thanks Romain!”

Formerly known as Bloodcum, ARSEBREED was spawned in 2000 and is dedicated to the execution of brutal, uncompromising, US-styled death metal in the vein of Deeds Of Flesh and Deicide. The follow-up to 2005’s Munch The Rotten will be unleashed later this year via Unique Leader Records. Further info to be announced in the coming weeks. Until then, check out some rehearsal footage at THIS LOCATION.

BONES – To Release “Sons Of Sleaze” On November 18th, Via Planet Metal

Bones - Sons Of Sleaze - promo cover pic - 2013

BONES – Chicago’s filthiest trio marches out of the sewers of hell with twelve freshly severed slabs of Death Metal sleaze! BONES is back with Sons of Sleaze, the follow-up to their 2011 self-titled release. Recorded with famed producer Sanford Parker (Lair of the Minotaur,Nachtmystium), Sons of Sleaze will be out November 18th on Planet Metal.

Check out album track “Maggots” below:

Sons of Sleaze delivers its unfair share of nasty surprises, incorporating violent blasts and low-tuned slime with a dirty rock-and-roll backbone that has never been more apparent, especially when it comes to Jon Necromancer’s undead belch!  The impossibly heavy combination of Necromancer’s bass and Carcass Chris’s muscular guitar riffs is once again captured in all its devastating glory, and drummer Joe Warlord’s huge vocabulary of patterns and fills keeps the energy level in the red for the entire 37-minute beating that is Sons of Sleaze.

Held together by a cover that could only be called “a new low” for artist Putrid, this album is highly recommended for the rotten-hearted, ill-natured, and furious!

Praise for Bones’ self-titled debut (2011):

“..to me this is without any doubts one the coolest releases in the Crust / Death / Thrash genre for quite a long time!” Voices From the Darkside

“..frenzied, ragged death metal dripping with the filth and swagger of punk — no quantized typewriter drums or guitars compressed into bland, congested slabs.” Chicago Reader

Obscene Extreme World Tour 2014 - promo pic

Since the birth of Obscene Extreme back in 1999 exactly 643 (next year will exceed the ‘magic’ number of 666) bands will have played the Obscene Extreme festival. These bands have come from almost every corner of the globe and have attracted hordes of diehard extreme music fans from all over Europe and well beyond its home base in the Czech Republic.

What brings the fans to Obscene Extreme is more than the wide selection of underground grindcore, crust, punk, death, thrash, hardcore and almost every underground style in between, but also the incredible atmosphere, the DIY ethic and the true spirit of community. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or who you are, everyone is the same when you’re in the pit!

“For almost 15 years people have traveled the globe, driven across continents and slept in airports and railway stations to make it to Obscene Extreme, and now Obscene Extreme is making the same effort to come to you once again!!!” states OEF organiser Curby.

“After a really insane OEF World Tour in 2013 with festivals in Mexico, Indonesia and Australia we can say, we will never give up and we are back to do it once again in 2014!!! With the OEF Club World Tour 2014 we are rolling into Japan, Australia and the USA like the United Nations of Grind.”

Check more info on OEF websites and see you soon!!!

3. Fair ticket price. No massive booking agent or energy drink mega-festival bullshit. Obscene Extreme is affordable for everyone.

4. No shitty rules, no shitty security – Stage diving, stage invasions and more, all welcome. Obscene Extreme treats you like people and doesn’t stop you having fun.

5. Grindcore carnival – Wear a gas mask, dress as a goregrind banana. Obscene Extreme is more than a festival – it’s a party!
