SATAN has been confirmed for the Alcatraz Metal Fest, set to take place Saturday, August 10, 2013 in Deinze, Belgium.
SATAN – Legendary British Heavy Metal band SATAN will release Life Sentence, their first studio full-length under the SATAN banner since 1987′s Suspended Sentence, on April 29th in Europe and in May in the U.S. on Listenable Records.

On Record Store Day, April 20, Soundgarden will be releasing a limited edition vinyl of the King Animal demos worldwide. This is the first time these recordings have been available together.
The songs will be pressed on 10″ PINK vinyl and the 6-song package will also include a free digital download card.

BAND JOINS DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN FOR SPRING TOUR

Mar. 7, 2013, Philadelphia – Royal Thunder’s extraordinary momentum continues with the band performing on five of SXSW’s most anticipated heavy music showcases: Pitchfork’s Show No Mercy showcase (Mar. 13 at House of Vans – Mohawk), MetalSucks South by South Death showcase (Mar. 14 at Dirty Dog), Brooklyn Vegan showcase (Mar. 15 @ Emo’s), Converse Thrasher Deathmatch showcase (Mar. 16 @ Scoot Inn) and Mar. 16 on Relapse Records’ Chaos in Tejas showcase at Red 7.
The band, who have been on the road for nearly a year, will join Dillinger Escape Plan this Spring for a six-week tour that kicks off on Apr. 22 in Lancaster, Pa. at The Chameleon Club. Royal Thunder, who play the House Cafe in DeKalb tomorrow night, wrap up a tour with Ancient Vvisdom this week.
The Atlanta band released their debut album CVI in May 2012. The release was called a “stunning breakthrough” by Spin, Revolver called the album “essential” listening and Decibel placed singer Mlny Parsonz on the cover of their inaugural Women In Metal issue. Royal Thunder closed out 2012 with multiple year-end/best of accolades including the Village Voice (#10 on Top Ten Metal Albums of 2012), Spin (#6 on 20 Best Metal Albums of 2012) and #11 on Revolver’s 20 Best Albums of the year.

Feb. 12, 2013, San Francisco – Mike Patton, in a rare and comprehensive interview, is on the March cover of Decibel Magazine.
“I first saw Faith No More in 1992, when the band came to my podunk hometown on the Angel Dust tour, with Helmet opening in support of Meantime.” says Decibel Editor-in-Chief Albert Mudrian. “It seems sort of fitting that we’d catch up with Mike Patton as he releases a new Tomahawk record that features former Helmet drummer John Stanier as well.”
The seven-page article, written by J. Bennett, spans the San Francisco-based musician’s history from his Eureka, Calif. roots with Mr. Bungle, on to his work with Faith No More and his move toward independence with his own Ipecac Recordings and his eclectic incarnations via Fantômas, Mondo Cane and Tomahawk amongst others. GASS, who also famously roasted Gene Simmons a few years back, has played memorable characters on such TV shows as Sex and The City, Law and Order, King of Queens and Gene Simmons Family Jewels, and most recently has been doing voice over work on the shows Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland. GASS began performing stand-up comedy in 1993. His dead-on impressions caught the attention of two icons of the entertainment community, Howard Stern and George Carlin. Carlin took the young comedian under his wing and GASS’ idol quickly became his mentor.
The pathway to impressions and stand-up comedy appears to be GASS’ destiny from the very beginning. Growing up in a family that was completely deaf, GASS learned to speak from TV. His debut comedy album/DVD is due out later this spring on Oglio Records and will coincide with a North American tour. Early dates include January 25 & 26 in Dallas at the AT&T Performing Arts Center as well as March 29 in Toronto at the Panasonic Theatre.

Guitar Played Exclusively Throughout Def Leppard “Rock of Ages” Tour This Summer
(Los Angeles, CA) –PHIL COLLEN, lead guitarist for the iconic rock band DEF LEPPARD, announces plans for a charitable auction of “Wings”, a custom Jackson PC1 guitar that Collen has played throughout this summer’s Rock of Ages tour. The auction, taking place exclusively on eBay, will begin on September 5th and end September 14th, the last date of the tour. The winner will be announced in November which is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and all proceeds from the auction will benefit the Gerson Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the Gerson Therapy, an alternative treatment for cancer and other degenerative diseases.
In early 2012, Jake Willoughby, a guitar and music store owner, asked Collen if he would assist in helping to raise money towards the fight against cancer with Jake’s mother having just passed away from pancreatic cancer after a courageous 13-month fight. By tragic coincidence Phil’s own father, Kenneth succumbed to the same disease in 2004. Jake donated a Collen signature guitar, the Jackson PC1 from his music store. In the spirit of hope it was named “Wings”. Mike Learn, a noted artist whose graphics are well-known in the guitar world, donated the graphic custom paint job on the guitar. Ironically, Mike lost two family members to the same disease.
Phil began researching companies that were not only looking to prevent cancer, but also reverse its devastating effects. He initially had heard about The Gerson Institute located in San Diego, CA from Jeni Cook, a raw foods chef and the wife of Sex Pistols and Manraze drummer, Paul Cook. As Phil watched “The Gerson Miracle” DVD he was incredibly moved by their cause wishing he would have known about them before his father passed. Los Angeles, CA – Fools For Rowan pleases their fans once again with their new single, “Killed A Man Today“. The track, off their forth-coming EP, Who Killed Amanda Day?, is currently available on iTunes. The Nashville five-some will also be releasing a new music video to accompany the song.
Known for powerful vocals and fierce guitar progressions, Fools For Rowan are by no means new players to the Rock scene; touring with artists like Evanescence, Halestorm, and Trapt, a national college tour, and three invitations to play Summerfest, are just a few of their many achievements. The band is comprised of five very diverse and equally talented musicians and together they bring a tough, but emotional stance to the table through their lyrics and sound.
Recorded and engineered by Stoker White at Omnisound Studios, in their hometown of Nashville, “Killed A Man Today,” arose from Fools For Rowan’s partnering with producers Shaye Smith and Ken Harrell, as well as mixing and mastering from Beau Hill (Winger and Ratt). The release of GOTTHARD’s live album “Homegrown – Alive in Lugano“ is coming closer and with that also the unavoidable ending of an era within the band’s history – the era of Steve Lee.
The recordings of the concert which took place on the 17th of July 2010 in Lugano – the band’s home town – portray one of the last shows with the charismatic exceptional singer before his tragical accidental death later that year and will occupy a special position in GOTTHARD’s complete works always and evermore.
Bassist Marc Lynn puts the album’s magic into moving words: ”Lugano was where it all began and so the circle is closed of all that we’ve experienced with our friend Steve Lee. The memories of the past 20 years on stage with Steve are brought again to life intensively with this album. They reflect the memorable times that we were able to enjoy on the Mount Olympus of Rock’n’Roll.“
The enclosed bonus DVD shows chosen recordings of another historical concert of GOTTHARD: On the 31st of December 1999, the rock group played a gig over the course of the millennium – which also took place on the local piazza in Lugano and can be seen as one of the band’s most exceptional shows to date.
The album will be released on September 30, on Nuclear Blast Records!
Currently, GOTTHARD are still in search of a new singer, but soon a new chapter of the band’s history will be opened…
